Hey everyone! TheKingHHH100 here, back with a new story! This time and to celebrate the upcoming WrestleMania XL this weekend, I bring you a wrestling centered fic inspired by a video from youtuber MurfsYT13 of the same name, but with my own twist and take on this scenario. Now, the reason I don't bring as many wrestling fics it's because, although I love to fantasy book as you can see with my previous two Rumble fics, they don't seem to be nearly as popular as other fics. I guess people prefer stories where wrestlers do… *ahem* "other things" instead of wrestling…
I mean, fair enough, but I don't know if I have it in me to write stuff like that, so this is what I'm going with at the time. But hey, if you like this fic and wanna see more, please show your support by favoriting and following, also if you fee like it, leave a review telling what you think about the story so far and who're you rooting for at WrestleMania!
Anyways, I hope you like this. On to the story!
Chapter 1: An unexpected TURN of events
It's WrestleMania XL, and in the main event of night 1 we're seeing the team of former rivals Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins taking on the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Final Boss, The Rock, with huge implications for the main event of night 2 on the line. Ever since this bout was announced, fans have been speculating on whether the team of the enemies-turned-friends can work together or if infamous backstabber Seth Rollins is going to betray Cody, and the same can be said on if The Tribal Chief can trust The Final Boss or their massive egos will collide, with even the men involved in the match having pointed this out when taking shots at each other on the mic.
And it's the former Shield brothers who start off the match, the two knowing each other's offense perfectly and countering move for move, they trade momentum back and forth with neither man wanting to be the one to make that crucial mistake. However, it's Roman who takes control of the match by putting Seth in the corner and nailing him with some repeated, non-stop offense. The Rock calls for the tag, but it seems his partner is too busy on the attack and isn't listening, though fans can't make out on if Roman's actually ignoring him.
In the opposite side, a concerned Cody watches on with a worried expression as his partner gets lifted up and sent back to the mat with a thunderous powerbomb, wanting to tag into the match to relieve him but unable to do anything to get it. The Samoan relatives spend most of the match isolating Rollins from his corner and stopping Cody from ever entering officially into the bout, much to The American Nightmare's chagrin as he only can observe how his partner gets demolished, like his chances of finishing his story the next night could very well be.
However, lady luck seems to give him an opportunity when Roman calls for his signature Spear to finish off the match, but Seth is able to reverse it and hit him with a surprise knee. Both men are down and need to tag in their partners, fans are cheering loudly for Cody to enter the match, they wanna see him, 'We Want Cody' resonates loud inside the stadium, but it's Roman who gets it first. The Rock comes out and grabs Rollins leg, trying to pull him back to the middle of the ring, but The Architect is quicker and hits him with an Enzuguiri before finally tagging his partner.
Cody comes like house of fire into the match, finally getting his hands on The People's Champion in a fair manner and making Rock pay for all things he's done and said to him and his family, nailing him with all his offense. However, Roman tries to get involved again, causing for Cody to get distracted as he knocks him off the apron, only to be hit with a cheap shot from behind by The Rock, who throws young Rhodes out of the ring.
The Final Boss wants to hit his signature move, the Rock Bottom, on the outside, but Rollins tries to rescue his partner by flying in with a suicide dive… only for The Rock to move out of the way and for him to hit Cody instead. Everyone is shocked, no more so than Seth, who doesn't seem to have wanted to do this and looks at his laid down partner in concern. But as he turns around, Seth is the one on the receiving end of a Rock Bottom. Cody tries to get back on his feet, but Rock sends him back into the ring and into a Spear from an awaiting Reigns, leaving him in position for the most electrifying move in sports entertainment: The People's Elbow. Rock covers and the referee begins to count, 1… 2…
…3.
The Bloodline win the match, the little miscommunication between Cody and Seth being the decisive factor that gave the Samoans the victory, and thus the match between Cody and Roman on the next night will be contested under Bloodline's Rules. The two cousins celebrate in the middle of the ring to massive boos from the pissed off crowd, who are left with many lingering questions: first off and no less, did Seth actually mean to hit Cody or was it really an accident? Can Cody really trust Seth? More importantly, can Cody finally finish his story? Can he do the unthinkable and beat The Tribal Chief for his title? Also, how will this loss affect both Rhodes and Rollins mentally, as they will compete in important title bouts on the next night.
And it's the next nigh we'll find out, as we kick off with the World Heavyweight Championship match, between the defending champion Seth Rollins and the hungry challenger Drew McIntyre. The Revolutionist comes out in the doldrums, the previous night match and lost having clearly taken a toll on him as he doesn't do his usual taunts on the way to the ring despite people singing his song and his… *ahem* shall we say 'colorful' attire.
A determined Drew takes his time beating on a clearly tired Rollins, who hasn't had any time to recover from his previous match yesterday, showing his immense power and manhandling him. But Seth uses his smarts and speed to even things up, both men getting more fired up than already by the presence of one trash-talking CM Punk on commentary, as they both get turns to take out all their pent up anger on each other.
The crucial point of the match comes when, after failing to put Drew away with a Curb Stomp, Seth realizes he needs more altitude to finish off his opponent and goes to hit another stomp off the second rope. However, he takes too much time due to being already too banged up, and Drew manages to recover in time to catch him midair with a devastating Belly-to-Belly Suplex that throws the Visionary across the ring, putting him in perfect distance for a finishing Claymore.
Drew McIntyre is the NEW World Heavyweight Champion, finally winning a world title in front of live fans and, perhaps more important to the Scottish Psychopath, in front of a fuming CM Punk, who promises to take that title off him as soon as he's cleared up. However, as the two men have a tense stare down in the middle of the ring, no one seems to pay attention to the now former champion Rollins, who has to be escorted to the back by referees and medical personnel. Seth looks down to the ground, completely heartbroken that he's lost the title that meant so much to him, and also sad he's become the first man ever to loss two matches in a row on consecutive 'Mania nights.
But as the show continues, we get many more great matches and moments, until it's main event time. But as The Bloodline is heading out, The Rock tells Roman to go on and that they will join him in a minute as he pulls Paul Heyman, The Tribal Chief's Wiseman, aside for a quick talk. The Rock says, "Listen, Paul. The Rock appreciates all you've done for the family and all the hard work you've put on throughout these past years, but tonight things stay between the family… the real family."
Heyman is shocked to hear this and tries to rebut him politely, but The Final Boss is firm on his decision. "Let me handle business, I'll be in Roman's corner tonight, like you been for him in so many others. Are you doubting The Final Boss right now? That's not very wise of you, Paul." The Rock threateningly insists on going alone with Roman, and despite initial refusal, a scared Heyman reluctantly accepts this, though as The Rock leaves to head out with his cousin, there's clear concern and doubt in the face of the Wiseman.
It's the main event of night 2, Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship in a Bloodline's Rules match. They're both face to face in a mirror image from last year's 'Mania and they go at it, hitting each other with their best shots, trading move from move, momentum shifting between both competitors throughout the match showing just how evening matched they are. Cody isn't able to finish his story, but Roman can't close the chapter on him either.
And in the final moments of the match, Roman looks to put Cody away with a Spear from the corner, but Rhodes moves out of the way and he ends up hitting the referee instead. Cody hits Roman with a Cross Rhodes, but there's no one to count! This is the moment when The Rock, who's been awfully quiet in Roman's corner, decides to step into the ring, looking to get involved for the first time in the match. However, someone's not gonna allow that, and it's just Seth "Freaking" Rollins, who returns to the ring brandishing a steel chair in hand.
The four men who all competed in the main event on the night before are all standing in the ring again, The Rock and Roman in one side, while Seth and Cody are in the other just like in night 1. All eye one another, waiting for someone to make a move, but that steel chair Rollins has may be the difference maker… and it is, just not in the way everyone expected. Suddenly, the suspected but unexpected happens and it is…
"Oh my! Seth Rollins has hit Cody Rhodes with that steel chair to the back!" screams commentator Michael Cole, atop of his lungs.
"It's just like The Shield all over again!" adds his fellow broadcast partner, Pat McAfee.
Indeed, Seth has shocked the world by hitting the man who's back he was supposed to Shield, and to make it even more ironic he's hitting him in that exact spot. The crowd is booing heavily at this, as both Roman and The Rock just stand there and watch, though neither seem to be in cahoots with Rollins. Seth just stands there, look blank and staring down at the fallen Cody, however as The American Nightmare tries to stand up again, he snaps out of it and onto him, with multiple chair-shots to the back of Rhodes. Just as Cody tries to stand up one final time, Seth drops the chair in front of him and bounces to the ropes, hitting a Curb Stomp on top of the chair for a final exclaim.
Fans would say they saw this coming from a mile away, yet everyone looks shocked as no one really wanted this result to actually happen. Someone who would say he saw this coming too is Roman Reigns, who bursts into laughter at the sight. "Hahaha! We told you so, Cody! We tried to warn ya, yet you didn't listen because you were too busy trying to 'finish your story'," he says the final part in a mocking manner before adding, "I told you, Seth can't be trusted but you went with him anyways and… oh, surprise! Look what happened to you now?" Roman continues to taunt as he approaches the unconscious Cody to cover him up and finish the match.
"You're the one who's finished! All while The Bloodline keeps on ruling! And I just keep being on another lev-" Roman was suddenly cut off by The Rock of all people, who turns him around and…
"Rock Bottom! The Rock just nailed Roman with a Rock Bottom!" shouts a shocked Michael Cole.
"To his own cousin! Unbelievable!" adds Pat McAfee.
Now everyone is certainly stunned as while they suspected one of this two possible outcomes, no one expected for both of them to happen indeed!
Another referee soon comes out and, seeing as neither of the actual competitors seem in state to continue, is about to declare the match a no contest, but he's stopped by The Rock, who grabs a microphone and says, "Hold on! Hold on just there, ref! Before you make any stupid decisions, The Rock has an announcement to make! By the power confined in me by the TKO Group Holdings, I now command you to continue this match under Triple Threat rules, with the addition of Seth Freaking Rollins!"
"Wait, what?! You gotta be kidding me! He can't do that!" Michael Cole exclaimed from over the commentary table.
"Yes, he can. He's the Final Boss after all!" Pat McAfee retorts right next to him.
The referee looks hesitant, that is until The Rock threatens to fire him on spot, and he orders for the bell to ring and for the ring announcer to declare this match to be restarted… as a Triple Threat match.
Seth looks ecstatic as he laughs at this, then bounces off the ropes and hits Roman with a Curb Stomp this time then, in a reminiscence from WrestleMania 31, pins Roman to win the WWE Championship after being added to the match at the last possible second. Seth Rollins is your NEW WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, and he stands proud and tall next to man who quite literally awarded him the championship, the same man he trash-talked so much before, The Final Boss, The Rock!
The two are mercilessly booed by the furious crowd, who chant all sort of things at them as the duo simply shrug it off and celebrate in the middle of the ring while the second night of WrestleMania closes, leaving us with more than just a few questions…
