Unaware that she had been found out, Aquaformer was in the rec room alone at a table drinking energon and reading a book. Her mates had made sure she was only doing safe activities. She had wanted to do her knitting but Ultra Magnus just wouldn't stop bugging her when she did it, so she settled for reading a book in the rec room.
Lancex, who had asked around, soon found the femme. She was intimidating even while heavily sparked, but Lancex knew that was a defense mechanism of hers. "Aquaformer?" Lancex asked just loud enough for Aquaformer to hear.
Aquaformer looked up and then set her book down to welcome her friend. "Yes Lancex?" Aquaformer answered, sensing he wasn't quite pleased with her meddling.
"I have some questions for you and you are going to answer me honestly" Lancex retorted, indicating he meant business. She nodded and gestured for him to sit. "Okay, first question – were you behind that cockamamie scheme that ended with Optimus, Grimlock, Cosmos, and I trapped in the med bay?"
She nodded, "yes, I was" she answered honestly, surprising Lancex a bit as Aquaformer was known to play hard to get when she wanted to. But here, she wasn't doing that. But that was besides the point, Lancex had another question.
"Ok, why did you do it?" He asked, needing to know.
"Because I knew none of the four of you would admit your feelings unless you had no choice but to do so" Aquaformer answered the query, a bit worried her friend really was mad at her.
"Okay, so why did you feel compelled that this needed to be done? Couldn't it have waited?" Lancex asked.
"Lancex, the base was going nuts. Bots were acting off because the of the tension especially between Grimlock and Optimus. I did what I did for the greater good of other bots. I wanted peace on the base and the only way to get that was to get you four to stop acting like adversaries and start acting the mates you were destined to be" Aquaformer revealed, something the other bots had failed to perceive.
"You mean the bots were acting up because of that?" Lancex asked, having not noticed.
"Yes. It's hard to explain, but I noticed it from the time you and I came and Optimus and Grimlock realized that they wanted the same bot. I just wanted bots happy" Aquaformer reiterated. Lancex just shrugged, his mates were never going to believe this. Heck he didn't, but he could sense his friend wasn't lying to him. She really believed that she was doing what was best for everyone. She had gambled and this time, it looked like she won.
