Coven Fairy
The sun was shining bright, as the air was fresh and the skies were clear in front of the Noceda household. Within the home, on the second floor, a young girl, looking exactly like Luz shoved all the Azura merchandise, a tinfoil swan, and an old photo of herself holding the Great Witch Azura book, into a box on the ground.
"Ah! Much better." She said, stretching her arms before reaching down to pick up the box. Lifting the box from the ground, the girl looked herself in the mirror, before smiling as she moved one of her bangs out of the way. "Hmm." She said with a smile.
After making sure she looked okay, the Luz lookalike made her way downstairs, before stepping out the front door, where her mom was just getting out of the car.
"What's the box for Mija?" Camila asked.
"Just cleaning up a little." She said.
"Even this? You used to love making me tinfoil swans." Camila said.
"Oh, I'm, uh, just looking for a fresh start." The lookalike said. "Camp taught me a lot, you know?"
"Yes, it sure did." Camila said, questioning if she made a mistake with something.
Hers and he lookalikes attention was draw to the sound of rustling and light chirping noises in the bushes.
"Settle down little fella. I'm not here to hurt you." A new voice said.
Camila and the Luz lookalike both went to where the voice came from, and gasped when they saw a young woman, freeing a baby rabbit from a trap that had been set up on their property. But what caught their attention most, was her pregnant belly, and how perfectly it sat between her legs on the ground as she sat on her knees.
"There we go." Kali smiled, carefully hoisting the animal into her arms and checking its leg. "No bleeding, and I don't see any significant bruising. You're good to go little guy." She said, putting the bunny down.
The bunny hopped forward a couple steps, before turning back and hopping at Kali, sniffing her belly before nuzzling it with love. After showing its gratitude towards Kali, the bunny hopped away.
"Take care." Kali smiled, before her gaze landed on Camila and the Luz lookalike. "Oh, hey Luz." She said, waving at her with a smile while she held a hand to her belly. "Long time no see."
~Flashback~
"Nope!" Kali stated, marching away as she slammed the door in Liliths face. "Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope!"
"Kali, get back here!" Eda called to her.
"I am not, talking with that murderer!" Kali stated, marching up the stairs.
"Kali Dreyar Clawthorne, you get your butt back down here, this instant or my foot's going up your ass!" Eda exclaimed, as Luz opened the door.
"Sorry about that Lilith. Come on in." The pregnant Latina said.
"Thanks Luz." Lilith said, with a heavy heart. "I guess fathers talk with her went about as well as he said it did."
"Wait, dad was here?" Eda asked. "When?"
"Mr. Clawthorne came by a bit after you left for the caves." Gus said. "He left after Luz gave Kali the warning about the Fools Blood."
"Wow, guess he wasn't here for me then." Eda said, sounding kinda dejected.
"He thought it best, since you tend to run from him whenever he tries to talk with you." Lilith said.
"You're not exactly wrong about that." Eda sighed.
"On a more positive note, you carry the full pregnancy so well Luz." Lilith said, turning to look at Luz, placing both hands on her belly. "Ooh, I felt them kick. You look simply stunning."
"Thanks Lilith. I actually just got over the Common Mold, so I helped the babies with building their immune systems. Even if they are half siblings at this point." Luz said. "It was Kali's idea."
"Right, they're half siblings cause of the fusion thing you and Amity did." Lilith said. "I'm gonna need a detailed report on how that works."
"Luz, Amity, please help my sister get comfortable, while I go put my foot in my granddaughters ass!" Eda said, as she began marching up the stairs.
"Oh, this isn't gonna end well." Luz said, Araña crawling up her shoulder, and hopping onto the taut belly.
"We're just… gonna get going now." Willow said, as she and Gus made their way to the door.
"Probably a good idea." Amity said.
Meanwhile, upstairs on the second floor of the Owl House, Eda marched her way to Kali's bedroom, before opening the door, spotting Kali sitting in her nest bed, with her back to the older woman.
"Kali D. Clawthorne, get out here, and downstairs right this instant!" Eda stated.
"I'm not talking with her!" Kali stated. "She already took Fairy Tail away from me, I'm not talking with her."
"Kali, I swear to Titan, you are treating her just as badly as Laxus treated you!" Eda groaned.
"Oh, I am not, treating her the same way Laxus treated me. The only thing I'm doing, is refusing to talk with her, not kicking her ass to deaths door and back over, and over again!" Kali scoffed, jumping to her feet, and twisting around to glare at Eda. "An' unlike me, Lilith is guilty of what she actually did. She made a conscious choice to curse you. A curse that I inherited, because your genetics, ended up being dominant in my prenatal development."
"Look, I get that you're upset with her. But she's my sister, she's my family, and so are you!" Eda stated.
"Lilith, is not my family!" Kali countered.
"Okay, you know what. I have been patient, I have, and I've been doing my best to give you your space after your fight with your brother that nearly destroyed Cardia Cathedral. But this ends now!" Eda stated. "Either you march yourself down there, and listen to what Lilith has to say, or you're gonna be reading a book my foot wrote; it's called On the Road to in your Ass!"
Kali and Eda just glared at one another, neither of them willing to move an inch.
~A bit Later~
"Fine, I'll sit here and listen. But I'm still not talking to you." Kali huffed, sitting on the opposite end of the couch, her right ear pulsing red from Eda leading her downstairs by it, while not even looking at Lilith.
"It's fine Kali, I'll do all the talking." Lilith sighed.
"We'll give you both some privacy." Amity said, while she and Luz pushed Eda and King out of the living room, after an Abomination butler put a tray of cookies down.
"But we'll be close enough to stop any conflicts that may arise." Luz said, as Kali munched on a cookie.
After they'd left, Kali and Lilith just sat there in a bit of awkward silence, before Lilith sighed and spoke up.
"Kali… I wanna apologize, for putting you in such a situation, that you felt you had to force your Grandfather, between me or you." Lilith said. "I know you may not trust a word I say, especially after what I did to Edalyn, which in turn ended up being what I did to you. But I just want you to know, I never thought the curse would be so, powerful, so beastly."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better? You admitting you were too naïve to know better then ignoring the fine print on the curse? That only makes it worse." Kali huffed.
'Well she broke rather quickly.' Lilith thought. "I know. Nothing I say can make up for what I've done. Father told me, how because I ruined any chance of having a relationship with you, that I burned any bridges to ever being forgiven by you. I made a mistake, and that will live with me for the rest of my days."
"A mistake, that cost an innocent woman her life, and me my childhood." Kali stated getting to her feet, and looking right at Lilith. "It's like you don't even care to know what your curse on Grandma did to me, to my family. To the town I was raised in. I was Ostracized for something I had no control over, and someone died because of your selfish choice."
"An' that is something that will haunt me for the rest of my life!" Lilith stated.
The tone and volume Lilith used, shocked Kali. She saw the saddened face the elder woman had, and the tears threatening to fall down her face.
"Kali… Makarov told me, what my curse on Edalyn, did to Iris the day you were born. What it did to your family, how it became your fathers excuse for all the torture, pain, and suffering he inflicted upon you from that day forward, thinking the key to reviving the dead, was held within the bile sack attached to your heart. He told me everything, Ivan did to you, even the Demon Fetus mess that left you barren before Sapphire's sacrifice healed you. He even showed me photos of your scar covered body, from after the trial with the King and Councilman Org, took place." Lilith said. "I never wanted to hurt anyone with the curse I put on Edalyn. But I ended up hurting the people I cared about the most, Edalyn, my mother, even my own father. I even ended up hurting members of my family, I didn't even know I had."
"So why?" Kali asked. "Why bother telling me all this?"
"Because you're my family." Lilith sighed, a tear falling from her face. "I know you, may never forgive me. An' I know you may never feel like I deserve your forgiveness, but I genuinely care about you, and I am truly sorry, that you have suffered, as a consiquence for my mistake."
Kali just looked at Lilith, shocked that she was hearing this, from someone who was strong enough to be a Coven Head, now weeping in pain and sorrow at a mistake she made years ago.
"Finally, I wanted to apologize to you for taking away, somewhere you felt safe." Lilith said, after composing herself. "Fairy Tail was your home, long before I ever came into your life, and I forced you out of it. It's just… When Edalyn first returned from her multi-year absence, she told me so many stories about the adventures she'd been on, before our relationship became estranged. An' I just thought, maybe I could find a sense of belonging, a place of my own to call safe, after I left the Emperor's Coven. I just wanted a sense of purpose again, and I didn't even stop to think how you might feel about it, after Mirajane and Makarov offered me a place among their ranks, and acted so selfishly again. For that, I am sorry. I will finish off this apology, by telling that that I intend on tendering my resignation to Makarov tomorrow. But to do so, I will need you to open a rift to Fairy Tail for me."
Kali was silent once more, before she sighed. This was gonna be hard for her, but she knew it had to be done.
"Listen, Lilith." She began. "I'm not gonna pretend, like everything is okay between us. An' I'm not gonna be able to forgive you of anything, for quite some time. But what I can do, is give you a chance. I know, it would mean the world to Grandpa Dell, Granny Gwen, and Grandma, if I at least tried to get along with you."
"It would make them happy." Lilith chuckled, before blowing her nose. "But please, don't feel like you have to do this, just to try and appease them."
"That's just it though, I'm not doing it because of them. During Grandpa Dell's visit, he said something that, sorta makes sense to me now." Kali stated. "Family may be disappointed in you, for the actions you've taken, but they'll never let you down, and they will always love you." She paraphrased. "I didn't completely understand what he was talking about, until you came here to face me yourself, and opened your heart to me about how you felt from the consequences of cursing Grandma."
"Kali I…"
"Like I said, it's gonna be a very long time before I can forgive you for what you've done. An' I might never forgive you." Kali said. "But that doesn't mean, I can't give it a try. After all, how am I supposed to know something for sure, if I haven't let it play out first?"
"That's very mature of you to say Kali." Lilith said, a soft yet sad smile on her face.
"Don't quit Fairy Tail." The teen said. "It'll take some time for me to gather up the courage to face Gramps, and ask him to let me rejoin. Considering how embarrassing it's gonna be, to face him right now. But, I'm certain we can make it work if we both remain in the Guild."
"I'm glad to hear it." Lilith smiled.
"You two done making up in here yet?" Eda asked, poking her head into the room. "Luz is crying like a sprinkler from how emotional you two have been, and she's flooding the kitchen."
"I can't help it. It's just so beautiful." Luz called to Eda as she cried. "Stupid pregnancy hormones."
"I'll take the babies back, and give her a break from carrying them for a while." Kali sighed. "Titan knows Amity's not gonna be able to carry them right now, since Odalia is probably waiting for her to come home, and force her to get an abortion if she does show up, knocked up. It's more then likely Alador has already broken the news to being grandparents, to Odalia."
"Smart call, my dad has actually done so. But I think I'm gonna spend the night here, again." Amity smiled, coming into the room, while holding the pregnancy transferring box.
Kali took the box and opened it, allowing for the babies to come from Luz's womb, and returned to its insides. Once they were back, Kali pressed her icon, and shivered at the jolt that ran through her, before she opened up the box again, and her babies returned to her.
"Welcome back babies. Mommy missed you both." She smiled rubbing her belly.
~Two Days Later~
"So, according to Philips instructions, the hardest part to making a portal, was finding someone who knew how to build it." Luz said, putting together a portal in front of the Owl House, while Kali was working on something herself.
"But the list of ingredients in the journal were extremely easy to find." Kali said. "Your crazy apocalypse supplies finally came in handy Grandma."
"You know it." Eda said. "What are you working on though?"
"I'm trying to retrofit an old portal blade model, with some of Luz's blood as the anchor for the destination." Kali said.
"Where'd you even get her blood from?" King asked.
"You don't wanna know sweetie." Kali stated, before dropping the blood sample into the etched runes on the hilt guard of the dagger portal blade. "This is an older piece I made before the actual working portal blade I made that brought me here. But it just lead to an empty void, where a big shining gold guy with stag antlers, was talking to a dead ghost named Ozma about a girl named Salem."
"What's the blood supposed to do?" Eda asked.
"Hopefully, it'll act as an anchor that will allow the portal blade to open a rift to the Human Realm and back, since I used a bit of my blood as the anchor for the Boiling Isles. Might even open rifts to Earthland as well. Guess it depends on where Luz pictures it to go."
"Okay, we've got it all assembled." Luz said, plugging the wires through the cork on the bottle, and dipping them into the Titans Blood within.
"Hold it Luz." Kali said, getting to her feet. "We don't know if it's assembled properly. An' while our source of Titans Blood is large, it's finite. So I'd recommend starting out with something small to use first."
"What do you suggest?" Luz asked.
"Soak a rag in Titans Blood as a starter, and we'll go from there." Kali stated, taking the bottle of Titans Blood. "Not surprisingly, Titans Blood, is the only thing I cannot infinitely replicate with the Titans Quill. So we have to be careful with how we use our supply."
"I guess even the Quill has its limitations." Luz said.
"More like the Quill was designed not to work on anything directly connected to the Titan." Kali said. "Where's Amity by the way? She was supposed to be here."
"Yeah, about that. Why is she coming here for this?" Eda asked.
"Kali thought it best if Lumity went through the prototype door, instead of just me." Luz said. "You're gonna get to see how our fusion works."
"Doesn't Amity have to, I don't know, eat you whole or something for that to work?" King asked.
"She does, but it's surprisingly fun." Luz smiled.
"Why'd you make their fusion ability work like that Kali?" Eda asked looking to Kali.
"I was exhausted from my battle against the Newtopian Empire, and the Core's Moon Apocalypse." Kali stated pouring some Titans Blood into a small dish with a rag in it. "I obviously wasn't thinking clearly."
"Obviously." Eda said, as Kali brought the cloth over and taped it over the exposed wire on the door.
"Now we just need to generate enough electricity, to ignite the Titans Blood." Kali said.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." Amity said, coming onto the scene. "I had to find a way past my mom."
"It's fine, don't even worry about it." Kali smiled. "We just got finished setting up the preparations for the door. Now all I gotta do is supercharge it, while you and Luz turn into Lumity."
"Right." Amity said. "C'mon Luz, let's get to it."
"Not here, I don't want King or Eda to see how it's done. Eda might get a bad idea to try it with King." Luz said.
"Hey." Eda scoffed. "Fair enough."
"Use my workshop. There should be a set of clothes in there for Lumity to wear once your fusion is complete." Kali said.
Heading for some privacy, Luz and Amity got to work on doing their fusion, while Kali picked the dagger up again, and did some last minute detailing on it.
"So your portal blade, and that dagger are crystallized Titans Blood huh?" Eda asked.
"Yep." Kali said. "I didn't even know that's what it was until the Tower of Heaven situation."
"You've known since then?" Eda asked.
"Not like I could just bring it up in casual conversation." Kali said. "Besides, like I already told you and Amity, Luz didn't want me using my personal stash more then I already have for getting her home."
"That sounds like Luz alright." Eda sighed.
"Okay, we're ready." Lumity said, coming up to them from around back.
Kali turned around and smiled, seeing that the clothes Lumity wore, fit perfectly. Lumity was dressed in a black sleeveless crop top, hugging her just bellow her breasts, under a lavender violet open shoulder high collared crop top jacket that sat above her chest. From the waist down, with her midriff exposed, she wore a pair of white stretch tactical cargo pants with one of the sleeves being violet from the knee up to the waist, and the other from the knee down, finished off with a pair of tactical womens combat boots, with her hair tied up in a pony tail.
"These fit so well. An' I love the color scheme." Lumity smiled. "Amity was a bit iffy on the colors, until she saw the pants were white and violet."
"Glad I upped a couple of the measurements before making those, seeing as both Luz and Amity's bodies grew in certain areas from their time carrying the babies." Kali smiled.
"No kidding. Ed and Em were teasing Amity about the changes to her body when they first noticed them." Lumity said.
"Hey, are you gonna be standing around flirting all day, or are we gonna get this test started?" Eda asked.
"Right." Kali said. "Let's get to it."
Kali grabbed the other end of the exposed wire leading to the door. Letting out a breath, Kali released a surge of electricity, which traveled through the wire to the door, and struck the Titans Blood. The blue blood soaked rag shined with power, before the blood began to drip. Near instantly, the blood began to cover the entire door it was taped to, as well as the other ingredients for making a portal. In a flash the door and ingredients vanished, as if into a black hole, before reappearing crooked and wonky, with a similar eye to the portal key. The new semi-functional door opened up, revealing a veil between worlds.
"It worked." Lumity said.
"You sure? That looks very different from the other Portal Door." King said.
"We obviously didn't use enough Titans Blood." Kali stated.
"Either way, this is our one chance to see Luz's mom." Lumity said, tying a rope around her waist, as Eda gave her Luz's cloak. "We can split the fusion as soon as we're in the Human Realm. If the portal's closing, pull me back."
"An' while you're doing that, I'm gonna test out the portal blade I repurposed." Kali said.
"Lumity, as impressive as this is, I don't wanna see either of you getting hurt." Eda said.
"Once we make sure Luz's mom is okay, we'll be right back." Lumity said.
"Just be careful, the Human Realm's filled with some real weirdos." Eda winked.
"Right Eda." Lumity smiled, before turning to the portal door she made. "Here goes, nothing."
Kali watched anxiously, as Lumity pushed into the veil of the portal, vanishing from sight, with nothing but a rope to show she was still alive.
"Hey kiddo, why don't you rub your belly for a bit? That seems to calm you down." Eda said.
"Right. I guess that could help." Kali said, lifting her belly compressor, allowing her belly to pop out, as she rubbed it. "I just hope they'll be okay."
"I know they will." Eda smiled.
Deciding to take her mind off Lumity's current adventure, Kali went to the back as she pulled out the sheathed dagger.
"Okay, while that's happening. Let's see if you work." Kali smiled, pulling her compressor back down. "Thankfully, this will keep you two safe while I'm testing the dagger."
Keeping a tight grip on the hilt, Kali envisioned the flora surrounding the cabin that the old Portal Door was connected to, before she swung the blade upwards and opened a rift.
"Okay, it still opens rifts. Now let's see where this rift leads to." Kali said, walking through the rift, with a bright flash of white light enveloping her body.
When the light died down from Kali's sight, she opened her eyes and gasped when she saw she was in the Human Realm.
"I did it." Kali gasped. "I actually did it."
"Kali! Kali can you hear me?" Lumity's voice came from her pocket.
Kali pulled out her pocket makeup mirror, and opened it, revealing Lumity within the reflection.
"Lumity. I take it this is a side effect from not using enough Titans Blood for the door?" Kali asked.
"It would seem so. It most likely opened up a veil to a realm between worlds." Lumity stated. "I can only contact people by showing up in the reflective surfaces near them. I saw how worried you were when rubbing your belly by the way."
"That… I… you…" Kali blushed.
"Don't worry, it was adorable. So where are you?" Lumity asked.
"I'm in the Human Realm." Kali said. "The blade worked, now I just gotta get some answers from your Basilisk lookalike."
"Yeah, I remember you telling Luz and Amity about her when you explained where you were the last little while." Lumity said. "Do you think she's done anything to my mom?"
"I don't think so. Still, it's better we get some answers out of her, now." Kali stated, before the sound of a trap going off caught her attention. "Ooh, stupid pregnancy hormones. I can't stop to help every little critter I see in trouble. Maybe I should let my belly out to breathe though, it's surprisingly humid here."
~Present Time~
"Luz, do you know this girl?" Camila asked.
"I uh…" The Luz lookalike began.
"We met at camp." Kali huffed, using a tree to help herself to her feet. "You can obviously see why I was sent to camp."
"Oh here, let me help." Camila said, helping Kali to her feet. "What brings you to the neighborhood?"
"Just passing through on my way to the museum." Kali huffed. "Thought I'd stop by and visit one of the friends I made at camp. I'm Kali."
"It's very nice to meet a friend of Luz's. I'm Camila Noceda." Camila smiled. "An' the way you handled that little bunny, it was like something out of a fairy tale."
"Speaking of, are these traps normal?" Kali asked, kicking the trap with her foot. "That poor animal could have gotten hurt really bad."
"They have been, lately." Camila said. "Even though they're being set up on private property."
"That's been the fifth trap this week." The Luz lookalike said.
"If I ever catch who's responsible, I'll… Pow-pow!" Camila cried out.
"I feel the same." Kali giggled.
"Oh where are my manners? Please, come inside. I'll make maduros." Camila said.
"I only stopped by for a quick hello, I don't wanna impose." Kali said.
"Please, I insist." Camila smiled.
"Well, if you insist, how can I refuse?" Kali asked. "While I'm here, you wanna show me your Azura collectibles Luz? You talked up a big game about them at the cabin."
"Oh, I don't know if you should be climbing stairs in your condition." The Luz lookalike said.
"Please, I'm stronger then I look you know." Kali smiled, flexing one of her arms, showing she wasn't bluffing.
"Wow, you do look strong." Camila said. "But don't push yourself if you don't have to."
~Later~
"Well, here we are." The lookalike said, opening the door for Kali. "This is my room… Though I don't really remember…"
"Let's drop the facade." Kali sighed, closing the door behind her, before sitting on the edge of the desk. "I know you're not the real Luz Noceda."
"W-what? What are you talking about, of course I…"
"I know you're a Greater Basilisk. At least a resurrected one." Kali stated, crossing her arms. "I've fought one of your relatives, and beat them to save my friends when they attacked Hexside. I know what your people smell like. Isn't that right Lumity?"
The lookalike froze, before turning around, showing Lumity was standing in the reflective surface of the closet mirror door somehow.
"YOU!" Lumity hissed, causing her lookalike to shriek.
"Oh no." Kali sighed, getting to her feet, as the sound of rapidly approaching footsteps echoed from the hall. "Here she comes."
"Luz, is everything okay? Is Kali in labor? Did climbing up the stairs cause her water to break, how far apart are the contractions?" Camila asked, bursting through the door with snacks on a tray.
"I'm fine Mrs. Noceda." Kali said with a soft smile. "Luz just got spooked with how far one of the babies kicked out, while feeling my belly."
"Oh Dios Mio. I thought it was worse." Camila sighed in relief, putting the snacks on the desk. "You two enjoy yourselves up here, and no more giving me heart attacks, okay?"
"Si entendido Señora Noceda." Kali smiled.
"Oh muy bien. Tu Español es excelente." Camila smiled, leaving the room.
"So you can hear me." Lumity said, after Camila left, to which the Luz lookalike unintentionally hid her when Camila came into play.
"You're from the Demon Realm, you both are." The lookalike said.
"Listen, we just wanna…"
"I'm not going back there." The lookalike said. "I won't go back!" She stated, picking up a bat, ready to swing it.
"That's enough of that." Kali said, taking the bat away from her. "We just wanna talk."
"No, you're here to drag me back to that lab under the Emperor's Castle. I know it." The lookalike stated, moving past Kali. "Well I won't be that easy to catch."
"Wait." Kali called out, before the lookalike jumped out the window, and rolled down the roof. "Just great." She hissed, flattening her belly and jumping out the window herself.
Kali followed the lookalike to the ground, both of them keeping hidden from Camila as she remained completely oblivious in the house. Kali followed the girls scent, which was leading back to the cabin. She skid to a halt when she heard something snap, and a shriek.
"No, no, no, no." Kali panicked, running into the cabin, finding the lookalike having reverted back to her normal form.
Her Basilisk form consisted of a small, chubby serpentine body with two arms and a tail fin akin to a fish's. Her face was round with wide eyes and a turned up nose, with a catlike mouth in a "W" shape with two small teeth poking out from her bottom jaw with her lower lip being a dark maroon color. Her body was covered in pale, swamp-green scales with cream colored spots on her head, tail, underbelly, and the bottom half of her face. Tufts of navy-blue hair decorated the surface on her head, back, and ears, with her eyes consisting of yellow-gold pupils, black irises, and aqua sclera. She has off-white fins on the sides and tip of her tail, along with a dull peacock-blue piercing on the tip.
"Stop moving. Stop!" Kali stated.
"Leave me alone." She said.
"I said stop moving. If you keep struggling, the wire's only gonna dig deeper into your flesh." Kali stated, grabbing the Basilisk by the shoulders. "Look, we're not wanting to hurt you. We just wanna talk."
"How do I know I can trust you?" She asked. "I can smell the sigil magic coming from your forearm."
"Believe me, I had no desire of joining any sort of Coven." Kali sighed, as she moved to the wire. "The sigil was forced onto me against my will. So it's kinda easy to assume I'd be with the Emperors Coven just from the magic coming off it."
"So, you're not here to hunt me down and take me back?" She asked, as Kali completely removed the wired trap.
"No, I'm not." Kali said, before she blasted a spell at something in the corner on the ceiling. "But there's someone out there, who's been trying to catch you. An' he's from the Human Realm." She stated, as the destroyed camera fell to the ground.
"Did that destroy the footage?" Lumity asked from the mirror in Kali's pocket.
"Most likely not." Kali sighed. "Looks like a wireless broadcaster."
"Meaning?" The Basilisk asked.
"Meaning it was broadcasting the footage it captured, wirelessly from here to the computer of whoever set it up." Kali stated bringing the mirror out and opening it.
"How do you know so much about Human Realm technology?" Lumity asked.
"Grandma's got a lot of books on stuff like this. I'll sometimes read them if I'm bored." Kali said, before turning back to the Basilisk. "Now, let's start over. I'm Kali."
"I'm Lumity. A fusion of Amity Blight and the real Luz Noceda." Lumity said as the mirror was turned to face her.
"Can you tell us your name?" Kali asked.
"I'm number f… I'm Vee." She said, taking on a more Luz like appearance, with her eyes, ears, and spots remaining.
"You were about to give us your production number, weren't you?" Kali asked. "Your place in the line of Basilisks that were revived. You were number five."
"Yeah." Vee said.
"Well, Vee sounds like a much cuter name then that. An' you have a cuter appearance to the other Basilisks I know." Kali smiled before gasping.
"What's wrong?" Vee asked.
"It's nothing." Kali said, bringing up the true size of her belly again. "One of the babies just kicked, they wanna meet you properly."
Vee looked at Kali, before gently placing her hand on the exposed belly, feeling the kicks from within.
"Whoa." Vee said. "So, the pregnancy wasn't fake?"
"No, the pregnancy is as real as it gets." Kali huffed. "I just thought it could be useful to use as a cover story when meeting Camila and you."
"I know I was amused by the story." Lumity smiled.
"So, the Luz that makes up part of you, must be Camila's real daughter, right?" Vee asked, looking to Lumity in the mirror.
"She is, but right now she's trapped in the Boiling Isles." Lumity said. "By some miracle, we made a portal door that's only able to let me enter the veil between realms, and this is as close as I can get to contacting anyone in either realm."
"So, who are you and why are you pretending to be Luz?" Kali asked.
"I'm… just looking for a place to belong." Vee said. "You were missing and mom, I mean Camila, seemed so kind, so I stayed with her."
"Well Vee, you had to have known this wouldn't have lasted forever." Kali stated. "Luz was supposed to come back from the Demon Realm at the same time she was supposed to come back from camp."
"Then why didn't she?" Vee asked.
"The portal door was destroyed in a fight between her and Belos." Lumity said. "An' that's how Luz wound up stuck in the Demon Realm, and is on a journey to find her way home."
"I'll go if you really want me to." Vee said.
"Actually, this could work out for the better." Kali smiled. "Thanks to you, Mrs. Noceda hasn't been heartbroken at her daughters disappearance. She's been perfectly fine and unaware of it all."
"So if you could keep doing that, pretending to be Luz until we actually find a way back for her." Lumity added.
"What do I get in return though? My life will be over." Vee asked.
"You'll still get a home." Kali smiled. "I come from a world called Earthland, and there you'll find a Guild called Fairy Tail, and the people there will accept you, for who you are, even with your traumas and emotional baggage."
"They'll accept me, even thought I'm a monster?" Vee asked.
"Hey, they accepted me, and I was cursed to turn into an actual monster for most of my life." Kali smiled. "So I'm certain, they'll accept a person like you, who's only looking for a home, and a place to belong."
"There's just one problem though." Vee said, grabbing her ear. "I need magic to transform, and I used the last of it, just to look like this. An' I don't wanna take any from you Kali, because I don't wanna harm your babies."
"That's sweet of you Vee. But I think I might have something to help with that." Kali smiled, reaching into her book bag, and pulling out a deck of Hexis Holdem cards. "I kept a few decks of my Grandma's Hexis Holdem cards in case I ever got the chance to play it with some friends from Fairy Tail. I already introduced them to Grudgby, so I thought this could be fun as well."
"There's little magic in them though." Vee said. "Not to sound ungrateful or anything."
"It's fine. That tends to happen when they go a certain amount of time without being used." Kali smiled pouring some of her magic into the deck. "There. Fully charged and ready to help."
"Thanks." Vee smiled.
"This is only a temporary fix though. We should find you another source of magic." Kali said. "An' if Grandma's been here multiple times already, then that means she's bound to have left something here that is magical."
"Which means we're going exploring around town." Lumity smiled.
"How do you know we're gonna find anything?" Vee asked.
"Because of this." Kali smiled, grabbing an old newspaper article from the ground, and showing it to Vee.
"Secrets of Gravesfield?" Vee asked.
"No, no. That's junk, flip it over." Lumity said.
"Strange woman banned from café?" Vee asked.
"That strange woman, is Eda the Owl Lady, my grandmother." Kali smiled.
"So you're thinking, she might have left something magical behind." Vee said eating one of the Hexis Holdem cards.
"Exactly." Kali winked, snapping her fingers. "Plus, it'll be a good opportunity for me to see the town a bit better, and not in the middle of an invasion I had to fight off."
"You fought in the Battle of LA?" Vee asked.
"I did." Kali smiled. "Don't ask me for details though, I'm not interested in reliving some of that trauma just yet."
"Noted." Vee smiled, sounding amused.
~Later~
"Who are those two?" Kali asked, as they walked past a statue of brothers.
"Those are Philip and Caleb Wittebane." Vee said. "They're considered local heroes in this town, back when Witch Hunting was a thing. Philip's the one on the right holding the scroll, and Caleb's the one on the left holding the book."
"Okay, good to know." Kali said.
"Actually, it's believed the curator at the Gravesfield Museum, Jacob, is a direct descendant of Philip Wittebane." Vee added.
"Interesting." Kali pondered as they reached the café. "Well, here we are."
"So what, we just go in and ask about that witch from the paper?" Vee asked.
"It's unlikely they'll still have one of the pastries she enchanted, but it's worth a shot trying to gather info." Kali said. "Just don't mention anything about me being her granddaughter. They might make me pay for everything she wasted and any damages they had to repair."
"Noted." Vee said, before they went in.
"Hello, what can I get ya?" The barista asked.
"I'll take the largest coffee you have with four cream and four sugar and any Boston Cream doughnuts if you got any. A dozen at least." Kali smiled. "Also, could you tell us anything you know about that old lady who was banned from here? The one who made the papers?"
"Oh, Marylin?" The barista asked. "What's got you interested with her?"
"We're looking for something she might have left behind." Vee said.
"Ah, well she tried to pay for a latte with a live raccoon, a couple months ago." The barista said. "But when I called the cops, she did something weird to out croissants. We threw 'em in the trash, but now we got a whole new problem."
"The rats can talk?"
"The rats can talk." The barista nodded. "Whatever she did to them, made the rats smart enough to speak human language."
"Metal cage with doughnuts and magnetic locks. That should take care of your rodent infestation." Kali said receiving her order.
"You're not friends with that witch-obsessed freak, are you?" The barista asked.
"Who?"
"The museum curator. He keeps leaving pamphlets here, even though we tell him not to."
"Oh you mean the guy who's a descendant of Philip Wittebane? No, I've never even met the guy." Kali said, paying for her food. "Thanks for the food."
"Come back any time." The barista smiled and waved to them.
"Well that was a bust." Vee said, as they left the café.
"Maybe not." Kali said, scarfing down a doughnut. "I think that was more helpful then you may believe."
"So we're gonna go check out the rats?" Lumity asked.
"Oh no, any magic in those pastries they ate would be long gone by now." Kali said. "If Jacob is as obsessed as the barista says he is about witches, then it's more then likely he'll have some items that still have magic in them."
"Let's cut through the park. It's a shortcut to the museum." Vee said.
Kali and Vee began making their way through the park, stopping when Lumity spotted some people sitting under a tree.
"Look at them." Lumity said. "They're playing with Hexis Holdem cards."
"They must have bought those from whoever Grandma sold her stash to." Kali said. "Why don't we ask them about it."
"Sounds like a good idea." Vee smiled.
"We gotta be careful approaching high schoolers. Mark all your exit routes…"
"Actually, these guys are cool." Vee smiled, heading for the group.
"Wait, Vee no." Lumity pleaded.
"Relax Luz. It'll be okay. I think these are some of the friends Vee made during her time here in the Human Realm." Kali said following Vee's lead.
"Hello." Vee said, sitting on her knees in front of them.
"Oh, hey Luz. Good to see you outside of prison." The girl with the cards said.
"C'mon, camp wasn't that bad." Vee chuckled. "We did have the best Cabin."
"Cabin Seven. Hoo-ha-ha." They all chanted before laughing.
"So, who's your friend? I like her hair." The girl asked, gesturing to Kali.
"My name's Kali. I'm new in town, just passing through though." Kali introduced herself.
"Kali was supposed to be at camp with us. Even the same cabin." Vee smiled.
"Wicked."
"I'm Masha, this is Marcus and Zana." Masha introduced herself.
"Yo."
"What's hanging?"
"So, what were you supposed to be at camp for?" Masha asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Kali asked, gesturing to her belly. "I ended up not going, because I'm so close to my due date."
"Wow, you are big." Marcus said.
"Doofus, don't be rude." Masha said, smacking him in the face with a card. "Sorry about him, he tends to dig into his big brothers edibles stash during the day."
"It's all good." Kali laughed. "I know I'm pretty big. You'd think I'd be carrying triplets instead of twins."
"That's impressive." Masha said. "Can I feel your belly?"
"Only if you tell us where you got those cards from." Kali smiled.
"Why, wanting to tell someones fortune?" Masha asked.
"You're using them the wrong way. They're not for fortune telling. They're Halloween themed playing cards." Kali giggled. "My grandma had to get rid of a whole box of them to kick her gambling addiction. What you have, is one of the unopened packs she got rid of."
"Really? Aw man now I feel like a fool." Masha humphed.
"Don't worry, it's totally fine." Kali smiled. "Do you still wanna feel my belly? The babies are kicking right now after all the sugar I just ate."
"Should a preggo like you even be drinking coffee?" Marcus asked.
"I will hit you with a brick dumbass." Zana said, looking at Marcus.
"Whoa, they're really kicking and moving around in there." Masha said in awe, feeling Kali's belly.
"They're really anxious to come out and see the world." Kali smiled. "Now, about those cards?"
"I bought this deck from that weird Jacob guy at the museum." Masha said.
"Him again." Kali said.
"He's been selling these like they're going out of style." Masha explained. "Why you looking for him?"
"My grandma might have dropped a family heirloom in the box my mistake when she got rid of it." Kali said. "I'm looking to get it back."
"Great, then I wish you luck." Masha smiled.
"Thanks for the help." Kali said as Vee helped her up. "Maybe I'll see you around, when I'm not burdened with babies in my belly."
~Museum~
"You sure it wouldn't be better if you hid your belly?" Vee asked, as she helped Kali up the stairs to the doors.
"I'm sure. What if Camila spotted us and we didn't know? Or your friends from camp? I gotta keep up appearances." Kali huffed. "Let's head in."
After heading into the museum, Kali and Vee literally sniffed around, before sneezing.
"Is it that dusty in here?"
Kali and Vee looked up to see a light skinned man with brushed back brown hair, as well as short facial hair and a soul patch. He sported a pair of square glasses with a thick black frames. He wore a brown coat over a pale green collared shirt and dark brown vest, jeans, and with black and white sneakers.
"Welcome to the Gravesfield Historical Society." He said. "Let me guess, you're both here to buy those weird cards, right?"
"She is, but I'm here to look around. I'm thinking of moving to Gravesfield after these two are born, and I wanna know a bit more about its history." Kali said. "You're Jacob, right?"
"Jacob Hopkins. Please, feel free to look around, while I try to scrounge up a deck of cards. I'm pretty sure I'm almost out but I might still have a few remaining." Jacob said.
After he left, Vee and Kali began looking around, stopping at some of the exhibits to the museum.
"Hey, that's the Golden Guards crest." Kali said, spotting an embroidered flag with the thread woven from gold, before Lumity appeared in the reflection.
"Are you okay?" Lumity asked.
"Hey, what's eating at you?" Kali asked.
"Luz had… Luz and I are not the same." Vee said.
"What do you mean?"
"Masha used different cards on me once, and she said that I was running from something, and she was right. An' after meeting you, I can guess if Luz heard that, she'd say she knows what it's like to wanna run away from home, and did the same thing." Vee said. "Luz had a mom that loved her, a home, a life. She had it good! An' she still wanted to run away. I… I didn't have a choice."
"Vee, listen to me, and listen good." Kali said. "Luz didn't actually run away. She just left for the Isles, and intended to only stay there, during the time she was supposed to be at Nazi Fun Camp. The camp you went to, was a forceful rehabilitation facility that turn bright minded expressive and creative people like Luz, into soulless, depressing, and emotionless zombies who don't wanna do anything creative, anything that shows who they truly are. That camp, is designed to force campers into being society's definition of normal."
"Kali…" Lumity tried getting her to stop.
"So you see she wasn't running away from her mom, because she didn't love her home. She was running away from the camp, because she just wanted someone, who could understand her." Kali stated. "An' she found that on the Boiling Isles, just like you found that here in the Human Realm. Sometimes it takes a little heartache, to find where we truly belong. Now I'm not saying Luz should give up on returning to the Human Realm, no. But there's nothing stopping her from moving there, when she's old enough and ready to strike out on her own."
Vee just looked at Kali, surprised that she'd say something like that, while not even breaking down from emotions.
"Vee, I can't say for certain that's what Luz truly wanted, because Titans knows, she's not gonna tell me anything like that." Kali said. "But that's how I see, why she chose to stay on the Boiling Isles. That's how I see why she made that choice."
"We can finish talking about this later." Lumity said, drawing their attention back to her. "Right now, we need to focus on getting Vee a bit more magic for when we're not around."
"I'm… I'm actually picking up a scent of magic." Vee said.
Kali followed Vee, as she lead them to Jacob's office, with her nose tracking the scent of magic. It was pitch black inside the room.
"Where's the light?" Vee questioned.
"I got this." Kali said, lighting a small fire in her hand, illuminating the area enough for Vee to find the light switch and flip it. The moment she did turn on the lights, Vee squealed in shock, and Kali's eyes were filled a sense of danger, at all the Witch Hunting tools, and the banner over the cork board that said, Secrets of Gravesfield. "I'm starting to get why the barista called Jacob a freak."
"Uh Kali, you might wanna take a look at this." Vee said, standing over by the cork board.
Coming to Vee's side, Kali's eyes widened when she saw that Jacob had an entire board of newspaper clippings, and other stories, that were either about Eda, or possible connections to her. Bellow that was a deck of Hexis Holdem cards, with a fan behind it.
"It's a trap." Kali said. "Jacob set a trap for us."
"Take a look at this." Vee said.
Kali turned to her right, and saw a board filled with articles and newspaper clippings about the LA Invasion, and they were all about her, evident by the photos, with 'False Hero' written on a piece of masking tape over the main article.
"Oh my Titan." Lumity gasped from the reflection in the hand mirror, as Kali found the notes underneath.
"He thinks I staged the invasion, to try and be some sort of, symbol and gain humanity's trust?" Kali asked. "He thinks I'm part of an early scouting invasion force, and the battle in LA was some sort of territorial dispute. He's even targeting Anne, Sasha, and Marcy."
"This isn't good." Vee said.
Kali looked up from the notes, to the board, her ears picking up on something coming from the door.
"Vee, what is on that computer?" Kali asked.
Vee looked to the computer, before clicking on a file. She gasped, when she saw it was security footage of that morning, right up to when Kali destroyed the security camera that had been installed in the cabin.
"He's the one who's been setting up the traps." Vee said, going to another file, showing it was footage from the day Vee first came to the Human Realm. "He's been doing this, because of me."
"No. Not you." Kali said, grabbing a photo off the wall. "It's been going on, since he saw Grandma when her curse had taken over."
"We gotta get out of here." Vee said, as she began running for it.
"Vee wait!" Kali called out.
Pulling her compressor down over her belly, Kali ran to the Basilisk and shoved her out of the way, right as she tripped a motion sensor. As a result, Kali got locked in a human shaped metal cage, as Vee tumbled to the ground. This caused Kali to drop her hand mirror, as it shattered on the ground from impact.
"Kali." Vee gasped. "Hold on, I'll get you out."
"No, don't move the cage." Kali said. "The inside is laced with obsidian."
"But why would you… You've got dragon blood in you?" Vee gasped.
"More like I'm more dragon then just my blood." Kali said, before hissing as her shoulder bumped against the cage. "Obsidian burns dragons, so moving the cage might cause more harm then good."
"Hold on, I'll go for help." Vee said.
"No, stay put." Kali said. "Jacob's coming, so hide somewhere."
Vee looked around, before heading for the wall by the light switch. She managed to press herself against the wall, just before Jacob came in, opening the door.
"Whoa. It worked?" Jacob questioned.
"Let me out of here you psycho." Kali hissed, scales growing on her cheeks, with flames spewing from the corners of her mouth.
"I can't believe it, are you real?" Jacob asked, pointing a stick at Kali. "Seems like that pregnancy was fake."
"I'm actually pregnant dumbass. I'm just concealing it with an enchanted object that harmlessly hides it." Kali growled. "Now let me out of here."
"After all this time, after setting up all those traps I… I finally caught a living, breathing, demon." Jacob said happily.
"I'm not a demon." Kali glared. "I'm a Dragoness. The obsidian you have lining the inside of this cage, proves that."
"Oh don't give me that bullshit. I know a demon when I see one. A few years back I had a chance encounter with another one of your kind." Jacob said, showing Kali a copy of the photo she showed Vee. "Yeah, a-at first I couldn't believe what I saw. But after watching a few Mew-Tube videos, I learned the truth. Witches and Demons are real, and they're all sent from Mars to harvest human teeth to power their time machine."
Kali just gave him an, are you kidding me, annoyed look and groaned as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Okay, you do know the difference between witches and demons, from aliens right?" Kali asked. "Because those are two completely different things."
"That's exactly what an invading scout would want me to think." Jacob stated.
"You are the definition of gullible and stupid." Kali sighed. "If you were to look either those words up in the dictionary, you'd find your photo right next to them."
"Make all the jokes you want, but once I get my Mew-Tube account verified, and I prove to the world I'm not crazy, you'll be taken to the Pentagon for interrogation." Jacob said. "Your little territorial dispute with those lizard folks already got my channel more then 200,000 viewers and followers."
"That was not a territorial dispute, that was me trying to save this world from invasion and destruction." Kali scoffed.
"Yeah, so you and your kind can come here and take over yourselves." Jacob stated. "Where's your shape shifting friend?"
"Vee? She's long gone." Kali said. "She's probably half way back to the house by now, with how long you've been rambling on."
"What?"
"She was hiding right behind the door you left open. Not very smart, for a wannabe witch hunter." Kali snickered.
"Laugh all you want, but I still hold the cards in my hand." Jacob said, turning to leave. "So get comfortable Demon, 'cause you'll be in cages, for the rest of your life."
Kali just sighed, before pulling out her PCL, and calling a number she hadn't been able to use since getting it.
"Mr. X? It's Kali… Not so good, I'm calling because I'm needing to vent and you said you'd be happy to listen if I ever made it back to the Human Realm, but how are… Well currently I'm being held captive in a cage that was used for drowning accused witches, and the inside is lined with obsidian, meaning I can't touch it unless I want to add some burn scars to my body, not to mention add lethal poison to my bloodstream… Currently yes I am carrying the… Gravesfield Historical Society Staff Room, why?"
~Mirror Realm~
"Oh, what am I gonna do, what am I gonna do?" Lumity panicked. "Vee destroyed the only reflective surface in the staff room when Kali shoved her out of the way. Okay clam down, our awesome girlfriend can handle herself. But she's carrying both babies and… I know what I have to do."
Taking a deep breath, Lumity's body began to shimmer before she split back into Luz and Amity, both of them tied up in the rope, with a look of concern on Amity's face.
"You sure about this Luz?" Amity asked.
"I'm certain." Luz said, before she spoke out one name. "Camila Noceda."
~Noceda House~
"Boop." Camila chuckled, booping the tinfoil swan on the beak.
"Mom are you there?" Luz's voice came from her phone.
"Huh? Luz? I didn't even hear you call." Camila smiled.
"Mom, it's so great to hear your voice." Luz said happily.
"Oh, it's great to hear you too." Camila said, sounding a bit confused. "How's your outing with Kali going?"
"Mom listen, I found out who's been setting up those traps, and he's… he's hurting Kali right now." Luz said.
"Oh Dios Mio, where are you? I'll call the police right away and…"
"Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom." Luz's voice came through the door as Vee came running into the kitchen. "We've got a…" She stopped when she saw Luz in the reflection on her phone.
"What's… what's going on Luz?" Camila asked, sounding concerned.
"It's… it's a long story." Luz sighed. "It all started, the day I was supposed to leave for camp."
~Historical Society~
"Luz, this is all hard to believe, but I'm literally standing next to the proof." Camila said, exiting the car with Vee, now having taken on a different appearance.
"I know this is a lot to take in mom, but please just help Kali." Luz said.
"Uh, Camila…" Vee said, drawing her attention to the doors.
Camila looked up at the historical society, before gasping, when she saw the doors had been broken down, by either a large force, or a group of men.
"Apa! Apa-pa, apa!" A loud voice echoed out from within the building.
"A robbery gone wrong?" Camila asked.
"That doesn't sound good." Vee said.
Camila and Vee rushed up the stairs and into the building, finding that most of the artifacts in the museum had been left untouched, while the door to the staff room had been broken down, and inside was Jacob, being held by his vest and shirt. An' they gasped at the one who was holding him.
The man holding a broken and bloodied Jacob was extremely tall and had a powerful build. His skin was tanned, with short spiky silver hair, and wore a yellow tank top, red shorts, and a Mongkon around his head with bandages wrapped around his hands and feet.
"Who is that?" Vee asked.
"Mmph?"
The two looked past the man holding Jacob and saw Kali sitting at the bottom of the cage, covered in burns with her wrists and legs bound, as well as duct tape over her mouth. On the ground next to the cage, was what looked like a destroyed phone. Camila and Vee gasped when they saw that Kali's belly was completely exposed, and had its fair share of burns.
"Apachai has done what has been asked." The tall man said, dropping Jacob before turning to the cage. "Now Apachai finish mission."
"Wait, don't…" Vee called, before Apachai tore the cage apart.
Bending down, Apachai picked Kali up, and held her in his arms as he made his way for the door. Vee and Camila moved out of the way, before following him. When they got back outside, they were shocked to see several police cars, and an ambulance. Standing next to the ambulance was a bald man wearing makeup and a purple suit.
"Great work Mr. Hopachai." Mr. X smiled. "We were lucky that you were visiting Anne when you were."
"Mmph?" Kali questioned.
"Here, let me get that for you sweetie." Mr. X said, removing the duct tape from Kali's mouth. "Mind repeating that?"
"Anne?" Kali asked. "How is she involved with…"
"Oh my stars, that's right. Ms. Clawthorne, I'd like for you to meet Apachai Hopachai. Anne Boonchuy's uncle from Thailand. He's a Muay Tai master, and the fiercest to ever live. He's even been granted the title of Death God of the Muay Thai Underground." Mr. X introduced.
"It nice to meet friend of Niece Anne." Apachai said, putting Kali down on a gurney. "Apachai gonna be living with little sister, niece, and brother-in-law, for foreseeable future."
"Hold up." Camila called out.
"Mrs. Noceda?" Kali asked, before spotting Luz's reflection in the phone, as it began raining.
"Are you doing okay? Did Jacob hurt the babies?" Camila asked.
"He managed to expose my belly and… you can pretty much guess what he did from there." Kali said.
"She's a demon. Demon I tell you!" Jacob called out as the police and MPS escorted him out of the Historical Society on a gurney. "She's come to steal our teeth and change history!"
"Mew-Tube conspiracy theorist?" Mr. X asked.
"Big time. But he also has evidence of my Grandma during some of her visits." Kali said, as Apachai undid the bindings on her legs and arms. "Also, there's a deck of magic cards in there, Vee needs to be able to keep up her human guise."
"Understood." Mr. X said, before he began giving orders.
"You have connections with the government?" Camila asked.
"Well, it's a long story." Kali chuckled.
"It's good to see you're okay overall." Vee said. "You got caught protecting me, and I don't know what I would have done if…"
"Hey, hey, hey." Kali said softly, pulling Vee in for a hug. "It's okay, I'm fine, and so are the babies. It's just some minor burns I can heal back at the Owl House."
"So, how exactly did you get this many police officers out here?" Camila asked.
"Well… I might have played a big part in stopping the LA Invasion." Kali said. "Apparently, before Jacob destroyed my PCL, I learned that the president felt like he owes me a debt of gratitude, so when Mr. X learned of the danger I was in, he hoped the first private jet to Connecticut, apparently with Apachai tagging along for some reason."
"Apachai wanted to show appreciation to Kali, for helping Niece Anne, and making sure she got home safe after battle in LA." Apachai said.
"Maybe, you could do one more thing?" Kali asked.
"Depends…"
"After these two are born, I'd love to learn Muay Tai from you." Kali said.
"Apachai has another disciple!" He cheered.
"I guess it makes sense I'm not the… Gah!" Kali gasped out in pain, clutching her belly. "Ow, ow, ow."
"Kali?" Camila asked worriedly. "What's wrong?"
"I just got a sharp pain in my stomach." Kali said.
"Oh no." Camila gasped. "Do you feel any wetness down bellow?"
"No, I don't…" Kali breathed out. "That was painful."
"What's going on?" Vee asked.
"We need some medical help over here!" Camila called to the gathered first responders, before turning to Vee. "I think Kali just experienced a contraction."
~Hospital~
"Well, good news is. You're not in labor." The doctor said, coming into Kali's room, where Mr. X, Camila, Apachai, and Vee were gathered. "It's likely the stress of what you went through caused a false labor, or a Braxton Hicks. Which is a sign that you're close to delivery."
"So, the babies aren't coming?" Kali asked.
"No, they aren't coming." The doctor said. "But that doesn't mean, you shouldn't be careful. With how close you are to delivering, you're lucky the situation today didn't cause your water to break."
"That's a relief." Mr. X sighed.
"Kali, I'm glad you're doing okay." Camila smiled. "But can I please have these removed?" She asked, raising her hands to show she was cuffed.
"It's your own fault, for smacking Hopkins with a flip-flop." Mr. X said, before removing the cuffs. "But I think you've learned your lesson."
"It was a chancla." Camila said.
"Same name, different language." Mr. X shrugged.
"So, since there's nothing else wrong with you, you're free to go. Just be sure to take care of those burns. You don't want them leaving scars now." The doctor said.
"Thanks doc." Mr. X said, handing the doctor a business card. "Please be sure to Email the medical bills to this address."
"Of course." The doctor said, before he left.
"So, what are you gonna do now?" Mr. X asked.
"Well, since the dagger blade works, I'll use it to get back to the isles, and we can send Luz back as soon as possible." Kali said, sitting up on the edge of the bed. "So that's a good start."
"Apachai really wanna start your training though." Apachai said.
"Not until after I deliver, big guy." Kali huffed.
"You should really take it easy though." Camila said.
"By the way Kali. How'd it go with your crushes?" Mr. X asked.
"Shh, not here." Kali blushed.
"Oh? You confessed your feelings huh?" Mr. X smiled.
"C'mon not in front of Mrs. Noceda." Kali groaned.
"Oh, I see." Mr. X giggled.
"What?" Camila asked.
"Luz and I… are both in a three way relationship with another girl." Kali sighed.
"KALI!" Luz shouted.
"Mr. X was the one who started it." Kali stated, grabbing her clothes and heading to the bathroom to get changed.
"My bad. I shouldn't have pried." Mr. X laughed.
"Luz, I'm happy you found a relationship, but… Kali's having someone else's babies." Camila said.
"Yeah… about that mom…" Luz said nervously.
"Luz?"
"Okay so the third girl Kali and I are in a relationship with, have a fusion ability that make us one person, and when we were Lumity, that's our names combined, we transferred Kali's pregnancy to us. But Amity, the third member of our relationship, was on her first ovulation cycle during the time, and Lumity became just as pregnant as Kali. So now the babies are half siblings with both being related to Kali, one being related to Amity, and the other… being related to me."
Camila was in complete shock hearing this, her jaw was dropped, same with Vee, and Mr. X.
"Oh wow, I was not expecting that." Mr. X said.
"Apachai confused. Who father, and who mother?" Apachai asked.
~Noceda House~
"It has been, a long night." Camila sighed, as she, Kali, and Vee got out of the car. "You doing okay Kali?"
"I'm doing fine Mrs. Noceda." Kali said.
"Please, you're carrying my Grandchild, call me Mom, or Camila." She said.
"You're taking this, surprisingly well." Kali said.
"Let's just say, I was prepared for Luz's wild side to make me an Abuela in her teens." Camila stated. "Just didn't figure it'd happen like this."
"Look what I can do with the rain and light." Luz said, showing herself in the reflection on the rain.
"C'mon Vee, let's leave them to talk things out." Kali said, heading to the house with the Basilisk. "I wanna thank you, for helping me back there."
"What'd I do?" Vee asked.
"You went to get Camila. An' you were really brave about it too." Kali smiled, pulling out the portal dagger. "I'll see you in a bit, with the real Luz."
Unsheathing the blade, and swinging it down, Kali opened a rift to the Boiling Isles. The instant she was back at the Owl House, the rift closed behind her and she saw Hooty, King, and Eda pulling on the rope, with the portal door closing.
Kali freaked a bit and went to grab the rope, and began pulling on it herself, pulling both Luz and Amity out, just before the portal closed in on itself.
"Luz!" The other three cheered, helping her up.
"I'm sorry, we had to pull you out. The portal was closing." Eda said. "When did Lumity separate?"
"Did you talk to your mom, did you mention me?" King asked, jumping on her back.
"Yeah, Mama…"
"Luz." Kali said. "The portal blade I made you works. You can come and go as you please now."
"That's great." Luz smiled, before she frowned.
"What's wrong?" Kali asked.
"Camila… wanted Luz to promise to never come back to the Demon Realm, after making it home." Amity said. "But, Luz told her she couldn't make that promise, because of you. Because of us."
"I see." Kali said. "So, your broke her heart again, huh?"
"Yeah, but at least I'll get to see her in person now." Luz smiled, Hooty bringing over her bags.
"You're already packed?" Amity asked.
"I packed my stuff, on the off chance we actually succeeded." Luz said softly.
"Alright. Let's do this." Kali said, pulling out the dagger blade.
Kali swung the blade down, intending on opening a rift, but was unable to, as nothing happened.
"Huh? What's going on?" Amity asked.
"C'mon, we gotta open a rift." Kali huffed, swinging the blade several more times, before she stopped. "I think… I might know what's going on."
Kali turned to Luz, and sheathed the blade, before tapping the sheath, showing a counter on it.
"Is that, a countdown?" Luz asked.
"For what though?"
"For how long it'll take for the blade to fully recharge." Kali sighed.
"An', how long will it take?" Eda asked.
"26Weeks, 23hours, 54minutes, and 15seconds." Kali groaned. "This blade can only be used four times a year!"
~Kali's Room~
"Just great!" Kali groaned, flopping back on the nest she made. "I finally make Luz a way home, and it's only good for holiday visits. At least I managed to whip up a cell tower that can reach the Human Realm, before the night fell. So she can at least talk with her mom, but now she's gotta break her moms heart even more."
Kali groaned as she rolled over in her bed, before feeling her belly hit something. Kali looked to what her belly landed on, and found it was the album Grandpa Dell left her.
"Might as well see what else is in here." Kali said, flipping through the pages.
Flipping through the photos, Kali was surprised by the family lineage that she came from. She recognized a few from her research at the library, but her gaze landed on a particular portrait from four hundred years ago.
"Caleb and Evelyn Wittebane?" She questioned, seeing the photo of her ancestors. "He looks just like… Hunter?"
Kali's gaze remained on the photo as realization came to her.
"Holy crap. Our family, is related to Belos?"

I thought adding Apachai was a good idea. I like him, and feel like he'd have been a big influence on Anne's crazy side.
