Chapter 14
Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering."
Weeks Later
"Rachel set up a surprise for us couples. A weekend away at The Cabin." Brooke announced.
Lucas felt himself grimace at the mention of her name.
"That's why you're looking at this photo album of old pictures." Lucas replied.
"Cherished captured memories. Especially for us." Brooke said with a smile.
"We got married out there. The nature. The views. Privacy."
"We both loved it. The day we became husband and wife."
"My best day. My favorite person." Lucas proclaimed.
Brooke beamed. "I've always felt honored wearing Keith's ring."
"But becoming you're wife that was the greatest day of my life."
"I finally had a family. A real home." Brooke proclaimed. The emotion in her voice thick.
"We have to get our bags back. It's for this upcoming weekend."
"My parents said the kids can stay with them. They have plenty of room and aren't as busy now so it works out." Brooke explained.
Lucas swallowed hard. He couldn't fathom enjoying this couple time with his wife with this secret being hidden.
He had felt his stomach twisting in knots. He hadn't heard or seen Rachel but she wasn't keeping her distance.
...
Awhile Later
Lennon grabbed scissors and cut his hair short. Before shaving it off.
He tried on one of the new outfits he had bought from the vintage store.
Smiling at the sight of himself. He was done hiding. And because of that he started to come out of his shell.
He jumped as the front door opened slowly.
In front of him was Callum.
...
"You coming by for a kiss revisit or would like to fully explore the best ride of you're life?" Rachel asked. Staring him up and down.
"I came here to tell you after this weekend. You're attachment to my family is over." Lucas proclaimed.
"The routine. The expectation. You're bored."
"And i want give you the passion and desire you've been missing."
"I love Brooke but i can make you forget all about her." Rachel insisted.
Lucas simply left not wanting to engage any longer.
...
Lucas got back home and Beatrice was in the entryway.
"How was you're playdate at aunt Peyton's?" Lucas asked.
"Rebecca and I had fun as always. Aunt Peyton got us tasty snacks and uncle Jake is teaching her how to play guitar."
"Why were you and aunt Rachel kissing?" Beatrice asked.
Lucas then realized she saw them.
"That shouldn't of happened and that isn't something you need to worry or think about.
"I love you're mom very much." Lucas reassured her.
"Then tell aunt Rachel to find her own family and life." Beatrice replied before going upstairs with her backpack.
