Hebi had another mask, courtesy of Momo, and was silent, a war of emotions going on beneath the surface, and she didn't think it'd survive another shock today.
Aizawa showed them the dorms, drawing some light gasps of awe from a few, though not much else.
"The dorms were decided rather last minute due to Mikrai joining," He told the class. "Most of your stuff should be there, but if it isn't, tell us and we'll figure it out."
He left the class to set up their rooms, and they went to their respective rooms to unpack.
Marvin turned to Hebi. "I think we can go. I didn't send anything."
"Jona sent them at the last minute," Hebi sighed, mentally exhausted. "And no, he didn't open anything. He just grabbed stuff like your bag and passed them through a portal."
Marvin sighed. "Of course," He muttered, extending his senses.
He found the only room not occupied by someone and deduced that it was his. The room was actually right next to Izuku's, allowing him just to grab Hebi and teleport over.
"Warning next time?" Hebi grumbled as they reappeared.
"Sure," Marvin replied, walking into the room.
He stiffened suddenly, causing Hebi to bump into him as he stopped.
"Marvin? What's wrong?"
"I forgot the fucking child!" He hissed, suddenly remembering Eri.
Hebi's eyes widened. "SHIT! Where the hell was she before?"
'Eri's with Momo,' Izuku told Marvin. 'Somewhere on 5F.'
Marvin paused. 'You heard that?'
Izuku snorted. 'It was hard not to; we're neighbors and you're loud.'
"Eri's with Momo," Marvin sighed, causing Hebi to relax.
"You really shouldn't be trusted with kids," She told him. "You forgot her."
"Yes because I'm the only one that was taking care of her," Marvin replied, grabbing his bag.
He paused, muttering something under his breath and beginning to wave his left hand.
"What are you doing?" Hebi asked, leaning over to see.
Marvin made a 'wait' gesture with his free hand, still muttering while waving.
A shelf appeared mid-air after several seconds, causing Hebi to do a double take.
"Did you just make a shelf?" She blinked as Marvin carried it to the wall.
"Display case," Marvin corrected, digging through his bag again.
He pulled out a small notebook and flipped through it, before landing on a specific page and skimming through it.
Marvin nodded, satisfied, before closing the notebook.
He put the display case against the wall and waved his hand before stepping back.
He let out a breath as the display stayed stuck to the wall, getting a confused look from Hebi.
"What was that about?"
"Sticking charm," Marvin replied, turning to her. "I haven't used it in years and wasn't sure if I would be able to do it correctly on the first try."
If anything, Hebi just looked more confused. "But you just waved your hand? Isn't that what you always do?"
Marvin did a double-take but paused. "Oh, right, you don't know anything about magic."
He took a deep breath. "Well, uhh, shit how do I explain this?" He asked, just confusing Hebi more.
"Ok… look," He said, trying to find the words. "Magic, it's mostly intent-based, from my knowledge. The monks I trained with in childhood said that magic was the art of one's mind shaping reality and that if you could envision it, it would happen."
Hebi gave him an odd look. "So what's the point of using spells? If you can just envision it happening, why not just throw magic at something until it does what you want? Or am I missing something?"
"Most mages don't have the reserves for that, so the more refined spells are easier and less taxing," Marvin looked sheepish, rubbing the back of his head. "But, uhh, I kind of already throw magic at things. My spells aren't so much spells as they are me just throwing huge chunks of magic around."
Hebi blinked. "So you just brute force your way with magic."
Marvin sighed. "Basically yeah. The monks always told me that if I kept casting a spell, then my refinement would naturally grow."
"I'm assuming that didn't work."
Marvin made a so-so gesture. "Eehh, kind of. The spells got easier, but not for the reason the monks expected. My magical core just grew in size to make the spells easier; I still used the same amount of magic, I just had more of it."
Hebi blinked. "So the monks tried to show you the proper technique to throw a punch and you just responded by throwing stronger and faster ones, without actually refining anything."
"That- that's actually a decent example," Marvin blinked. "Yeah, that's exactly what happened."
"So all of that magic you've done. That bracelet you made for Eri, healing people, that freezing spell from your exam…"
"Just me lobbing magic at things," Marvin nodded, gesturing to the display case he'd filled with knives during the conversation. "That's actually why I can make that. I have so much magic that Conjuration, a very magically exhausting art, is simple for me most of the time."
Hebi stared at him. "Is there anything normal about you? Like, at all?"
"Uhhh… not sure what you consider normal."
Hebi rubbed her eyes. "You know what? I'm just not going to ask, because I'm pretty sure that every part of your life sounds like it belongs in a fucking novel."
Marvin shrugged, going back to unpacking. "A graphic novel, but sure."
Hebi's eyes widened as Marvin pulled his leather armor from the bag.
"You brought your armor?!" She hissed, checking that nobody was looking before closing the door quickly.
"Why the hell did you bring your armor?" She whispered. "Do you want people to know you're a dangerous vigilante?"
Marvin looked at her in amusement. "Hebi, everyone in 1-A saw me fight All for One, and Izuku told them too. And they've all seen the news, they know I'm the God of War. Not sure about Baba Yaga, but they know about the first one."
Hebi paused; she had completely forgotten that 1-A had watched the news that day.
"B-but still," She stammered, recovering quickly. "You can't just go around announcing that! What if someone uses that against you?"
Marvin shrugged. "I can just say it's training armor for when I don't feel like wearing my Hero Costume. Besides, apart from the Kamino fight, nobody's seen me without my blindfold, so most people don't even know what the God of War looks like."
"It's still dangerous," Hebi hissed, glancing down at the armor. "What if someone makes the connection and comes after you?"
"Then what can you do?" Marvin asked with a grin. "Fought people before, won't be much different."
Hebi sighed, rubbing her eyes. "You can't just fight everyone, Marvin. That's not how it works. You'll die if you do that."
Marvin laughed. "Then I guess I'll die then," He grinned. "Would be about time, been trying to do that since I was eight."
"You-" Hebi froze, staring at him wide-eyed.
"Don't worry about it," Marvin sighed, beginning to use his magic again. "It isn't important. I gave up at around 14 or so."
"You gave up?" She asked, confused.
Marvin shrugged. "Realized I was unkillable, so I kind of just stopped. Was a waste of energy anyway."
"Hold on," Hebi stated, doing a double take. "You're immortal?"
"Eh, depends on how you classify the fucking word," Marvin replied gruffly, grabbing the notebook from before again. "Can't die from poison, bullets, knives, bombs, magic, soul getting shredded, stabbing, decapitation, ritualistic sacrifice, or radiation."
Hebi's jaw hung open a little in shock. "You- You got hit with all of those things?"
"Yep," Marvin told her, popping the 'P'. "Hunters did everything but shred my soul to bits. That one I did myself."
Hebi stared at him mutely; the shock was too much. It was one thing to learn someone had been hunted their whole life, but to learn that they'd suffered mortal injuries constantly yet were still here was a different level of crazy.
"Was doing this complex ritual," Marvin continued, seemingly ignoring her shock. "Created it myself, actually. Called the Death of Pagan ritual. Gave me magic in exchange for lives. Pretty dark stuff if you ask most mages."
"Problem wasn't the ritual itself, that worked fine," Marvin told her, seemingly lost in his explanation. "Problem was that I tinkered with it and got carried away. Blew up in my face, literally."
"And that… That shredded-" Hebi couldn't get the words out, it felt surreal.
Marvin nodded anyway. "Yeah, the excess magic was still pouring into it when it blew, caused a reversal, and made my magical core and soul explode. Probably closest I've gotten to dying ever. Left me with like, 15% of my soul and magic."
"Y- You only have 15% of your soul?" Hebi asked, appalled. She didn't even truly believe there was a soul, but the thought was still horrifying.
"Yeah, pretty gruesome. Magic kicked in though, manipulated itself to give me another 25%, left me sitting with like 40% of my soul," Marvin stated. "Been at that till I came here. Midoriya gave me another 12%, helped me a lot. I'm in his debt."
"Wait, sharing a body with Midoriya left you with over half your soul?" Hebi asked, the return to confusion hitting her like strong whiplash.
Marvin shrugged. "Apparently. Feels nice, don't got to deal with pain or anything. That's what happens when you have under 50%, you're left with constant pain that feels like a bitch. Fell off a fucking skyscraper into a fire and that still felt like light work in comparison."
"Wait, wait, wait," Hebi said, raising a hand. "You're telling me you've been operating at just half your power this whole time?"
"Oh no, it's less than that," Marvin told her. "My magic only stabilizes my soul, it doesn't add to my strength. I've been fighting at under 30%, 27 to be exact."
"T- That fight with All for One…" Hebi said slowly.
"Used around 20%," Marvin shrugged. "Anything above 15 damages me right now. It's like All Might's injury; reduces both his power and how much of his remaining power he can use."
"So… theoretically," Hebi said, slightly scared of the answer. "How powerful would you be if you had 100% of your soul?"
Marvin paused, rubbing his face and blowing out a breath.
"Not… not really sure," He admitted with a shrug. "Injury happened before I reached my peak, so my maximum then isn't my maximum now. Back then? Could probably sink a small country if I pushed it. Now? No clue."
"O-oh," Hebi replied shakily, with a small nod. "O-ok, then."
Several seconds passed, with Marvin continuing to unpack, Hebi staring at him silently.
"Why- Why tell me this?" Hebi whispered.
Marvin paused and shrugged. "You asked. I have nothing to hide."
Before he realized it, most of Class 1-A were lounging around in the common room, their unpacking done.
Marvin and Hebi entered the common room, with Marvin having his hands behind his head, completely relaxed, while Hebi looked thoroughly annoyed.
Izuku was on the couch with Momo and looked up as they entered, giving Marvin a concerned look.
Marvin gave a minute shake of his head and Izuku nodded in return.
"Oh, you guys are all finished?" Mina asked as she entered the common room with Uraraka and Jiro.
A chorus of 'Yeah' and 'Yes' went up in response, and Mina paused in thought.
"Well, we were thinking," Uraraka began. "That we could do a sort of presentation thing for the dorms."
"Screw that!" Mina exclaimed with a grin. "Let's make it a contest! The best dorm wins!"
Marvin grinned, his natural competitiveness flaring. "I'm in. Anyone else?"
The rest of Class 1-A was quickly roped in, with some of them beginning to get excited at the thought of a contest, even if it was just a dorm presentation.
Mina grinned widely and pointed at Marvin. "Since you agreed first, you're the first one up!"
"Yeah, you know, I get the feeling this was set up on purpose," Marvin sighed, rubbing his eyes.
"Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't," Mina replied casually. "Who can know?"
The class quickly moved to Marvin's room, with essentially everyone, including Izuku, curious to see how he'd decorate his room.
Momo carried Eri on her shoulders, much to the young girl's delight, though Marvin wasn't sure if that was because she had made Eri a pony hat or not.
Mina quickly opened the door to Marvin's dorm and stepped back, allowing everyone to see.
His dorm had a display case of knives on the back wall, a dartboard on the wall opposite his bed, and a wooden armor stand showing off his leather armor, with Rinai's knife on the wall next to it.
His desk had the laptop he'd stolen from Skeptic, and three notebooks containing the sum of his magical knowledge, with spells, rituals, potions, and basic techniques, along with the information he'd acquired himself throughout his life. It also contained a few small stacks of loose papers that Marvin had and a few extra notebooks he kept on hand.
The class looked around, with Ojiro pausing as he saw the armor in the corner of the room.
"You're the God of War?" He asked, looking over at Marvin.
Hebi threw her hands up in exasperation. "What did I fucking say?" She muttered, thoroughly annoyed.
Marvin ignored her. "Yeah, thought everybody here knew so I didn't bother hiding it."
"Isn't that dangerous?" Iida asked in concern. "What if someone else sees your armor?"
Marvin shrugged. "Nothing much they can do; I have like three contingency plans in place in case someone asks."
Hebi looked at him in confusion, clearly not having expected him to actually have a plan.
"Woah," Mina breathed, looking around the room. "It gives off a sort of… medieval energy, you know?"
"It looks like it'd belong to a magician," Toru added with a nod.
"Mage," Marvin corrected automatically.
Class 1-A froze except for Izuku, collectively snapping their heads over to him.
"What did you say?" Uraraka asked.
Hebi was glaring daggers at him, before rubbing her eyes, feeling herself reaching the limit of her patience.
Marvin sighed. "I'm a mage. Yes, I can do magic. Yes, I can cast spells, perform rituals, and make potions. No, they don't taste good, they taste like dogshit."
"Marvin," Momo hissed, covering Eri's ears. "Language."
Marvin actually uncovered his right eye to stare at her. "She grew up in the fucking Yakuza!" He replied in exasperation. "She's probably heard things a hundred times worse than anything I've said."
"Still doesn't mean you can curse around a child, Marvin," Momo snapped a bit, glaring at him harshly.
"Hold on, hold on, hold on," Mina exclaimed, waving her hand at Momo to stop a response. "You can do magic?!"
"Oh my fucking-" Marvin muttered under his breath, walking over to her.
He reached her in two strides and made a 'give me' gesture. "Hand."
Mina blinked but obliged, giving him her hand.
He drew a Light rune on her hand, which looked like a two-runged ladder missing the bottom left stringer.
Mina gasped as the palm of her hand glowed brightly, gently brushing her finger over it.
She raised her hand and moved it around, her eyes wide as her palm acted like a pseudo-flashlight.
Class 1-A were in shock; Marvin had just turned human skin into a light source with seemingly no effort.
Marvin snorted at their shocked looks. "You're surprised by that? That's one of the first runes I learned."
Toru was examining Mina's hand intently. "I thought you needed some magic tool to do that," She breathed, waving her arm over Mina's hand and causing the light to refract.
"You mean a wand?" Marvin replied in amusement. "Most people do, but I have so much magic I basically am a wand so I can bypass that rule."
Mina smirked up at him. "You're a wand, huh? Anything else you can do, magic man?"
"I'm going to fucking regret this, aren't I?" Marvin groaned, ignoring another glare from Momo.
He grabbed a piece of paper off his desk and drew a Fire rune on it but didn't activate it before folding it into a paper plane.
"Voila," Marvin rolled his eyes and threw the paper plane.
Class 1-A stared at it in confusion before Marvin activated the rune, causing it to burst into flames.
The group gasped as the paper instantly turned to ash mid-air, watching it burn away.
"I can activate weak runes I draw even if I'm not touching it, but I'm limited only to a few feet," Marvin stated dryly. "The reason is too long-winded for me to explain in under an hour, so please don't ask."
His statement was only half-true. He didn't have a limit on the strength of the runes; no matter how powerful it was, he'd be able to activate it remotely if he wished. His limit was also around two miles, though the activation took longer the further away he was.
He wasn't about to tell that to Class 1-A though. Even if none of them had magic to counter him, Marvin was too paranoid to take the risk. Hebi was also there, and Marvin didn't want her or Jona to know his limits.
Izuku blinked as he saw the papers on Marvin's desk. "Oh, you brought your drawings? I thought you were going to keep them at the apartment Cypher gave you."
The rest turned to the desk, seeing a pile of papers containing individual drawings of each member of Class 1-A, which had extraordinarily high detail and looked more like pictures than anything.
The top picture was Toru, and the girl picked it up gingerly, her hands shaking slightly.
"You… You really can see me," She breathed, invisible tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
Mina gasped loudly as she saw the drawing, her eyes widening in shock.
"Hagakure, that's what you look like?" She asked in shock. "You're beautiful!"
Toru nodded numbly, feeling almost overwhelmed by the feeling of being seen. Nobody ever saw her, people often forget she was even there, and people hardly even noticed her, let alone do something as kind as draw her.
"You can keep that if you want," Marvin told her gently. "I can always draw another one."
Toru hugged the drawing to her chest. "Thank you," She whispered, invisible tears rolling down her face.
"Woah, the entire class is here," Mina stated, looking through the drawings.
Each drawing had a full-body, hyper-realistic, portrait of the person depicted, wearing their Hero costume, and had small notes in the corners for certain pieces of equipment, along with a description of the person's Quirk.
"Why do you have these?" Uraraka asked, looking through the drawings too.
"I couldn't remember people's faces when I was younger," Marvin replied, arms crossed. "Drawing people I'd be around constantly was my sister's idea; it was meant to help me remember people."
"And the Quirk and equipment details?" Mina asked, looking up at him.
Marvin jerked his head to Izuku. "Midoriya gave me that one. It was so I could remember everyone's Quirk and what they can do; to avoid mixing people up. He has much more detail on you guys, I kind of just wrote down the basics."
"You have these too, Dekiru?" Uraraka questioned, holding up the drawing of her, which depicted her floating several large pieces of rubble.
Izuku flushed and nodded. "I have a few journals of Hero stuff; you guys are in there too."
"Speaking of, let's go see that room," Marvin stated, beginning to get uncomfortable at having the entire class staring at his room.
Class 1-A quickly moved to Izuku's room, much to his embarrassment as they saw it full of All Might merchandise.
They quickly went through the rooms, going through Aoyama's, Tokoyami's, and Koda's without anything particularly notable happening besides the girls absolutely loving Koda's bunny, who stared at Marvin with wide, terrified eyes.
'Animals don't like you, do they?' Izuku asked as they moved to Kaminari's room.
'No,' Marvin replied neutrally. 'They can sense the death I bring, and so they stay away.'
The reactions to Kaminari's room were mostly negative or neutral, with one exception.
"I like it," Marvin stated, his blindfold up, shocking almost all of the class. "The varying visual styles are stimulating. It's nice."
"See? He gets it," Kaminari exclaimed, happy that someone had liked his room.
Marvin shrugged. "I'm a big visual person, the textures look good if you're trying to ground yourself."
Kaminari grinned. "Yeah! They help me focus a lot!"
The group moved through Iida's, Ojiro's, and Shoji's rooms quickly, with Marvin commenting on how Shoji was probably a minimalist due to his senses being enhanced, which Shoji partially confirmed.
"Can't stand to be in a room with too many things," Shoji told him. "I get too much information from my Quirk and it can make it hard to relax."
They moved to Kirishima's room, and the reaction was lackluster, but not outright negative like Kaminari's room.
"Gotta be honest," Marvin stated, as he saw it. "This and Kaminari's room are fighting for the ones I like the most. Feels like a nice mix between relaxing and powerful. I like it."
Kirishima grinned. "Knew you'd get what I'm going for, man!" He exclaimed.
"I love it, too!" Uraraka exclaimed, drawing shock from the group. "Makes me want to work out!"
"See? You two get it!" Kirishima replied, grinning brightly.
The group walked to the final floor, murmurs of conversation around them. Eri had fallen asleep, with Izuku carrying her gently.
Marvin bumped Kirishima's shoulder as they moved. "You're strong, you know that? You did well in that duel."
Kirishima blinked. "I went down in three hits, though," He replied, looking a bit lost.
Marvin grinned at him. "Kirishima, that last punch would have leveled a large city block. The one before that would've completely demolished several buildings, and the first would have destroyed a house."
The red-haired boy paused. "So- what you're saying is…"
"I'm saying you're stronger than people give you credit for," Marvin told him. "Just because you don't have a flashy Quirk doesn't mean you're not strong. The only person who took a hit like that last one and stayed standing was Izuku, and he's an anomaly."
Kirishima grinned brightly. "Thanks, man. I have to be honest though, those punches hurt."
Marvin laughed. "I would have been surprised if they didn't."
They quickly saw Sato's, Sero's, and Todoroki's rooms, with the girls loving the baked sweet that Sato made.
"I think that's everyone, right?" Izuku asked, shifting the sleeping Eri in his arms.
"Wait a minute!" Mina exclaimed. "I want to show my room too!"
"Me too!" Toru added, raising her hand, which still gently held the drawing.
The class quickly moved to the girls' rooms, starting off with Jiro's.
"Surprised you don't have a full vocal booth in here," Marvin commented, noticing the variety of instruments.
"I wanted to, but my parents thought it'd be a bit much," Jiro admitted, playing with her earphone jacks nervously.
Most of the class praised her room, telling her that it described her to a T, and was what they'd expect from her.
Hagakure's room went quickly, with most of the class not having any comments about it, to her slight disappointment.
Uraraka flushed as she showed her room, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.
"It's not much, didn't have a lot at my old place," She smiled, avoiding their eyes.
'Yep, she's broke,' Marvin stated as he looked around.
'Marvin,' Izuku hissed. 'You can't say things like that!'
Marvin rolled his eyes. 'I didn't say it, dumbass. I thought it; only you can hear me, remember?'
'It's still rude,' Izuku argued. 'And you've accidentally said things out loud when you didn't mean to; what if you did that again?'
Marvin paused as they headed to Mina's room. 'Fucking hell, you even talk like Yaoyorozu now. Swear I got whiplash hearing that.'
They reached Mina's room, and Marvin took off his blindfold to look around properly.
"Well… it's something alright," Sero stated.
"I feel like I stepped into the office of a fashionista," Marvin commented, looking around. "Like the visual textures, not going to lie."
"Thanks!" Mina grinned, leaning into him a bit and dropping her voice. "Maybe you can come by sometime and we can give each other tips? You seem to know a thing or two."
Marvin shook his head in amusement, tying his blindfold again and turning away, causing Mina to deflate in disappointment.
Her grin came back though, when she noticed the light blush Marvin had, even as he talked to Todoroki about something.
'A win's a win,' She thought, happy to get at least some progress.
Momo's was next up, and the rich girl rubbed her arm nervously.
"Are you sure about this, Izuku?" She whispered to him. "Your suggestions were amazing, but I don't know if it looks good."
"Momo, it looks amazing," Izuku whispered back with a smile. "Plus Ultra, right?"
She nodded shakily. "Plus Ultra," She agreed, kissing his temple.
The girl opened the door, allowing the class to see her room. "Tada!"
Collective gasps went up as Class 1-A, along with Hebi, saw the room.
It had a dark blue wallpaper, with silver outlines spreading across it like spider webs from the corners, condensing into a large, intricately designed circle on the center of the ceiling.
A small chandelier hung from the center of the circle, being the main light of the room and shining light onto the silver outlines on the wall, causing them to glow slightly.
A somewhat large four-poster bed was in the corner, the light wood of the frame complimenting the walls.
"Woah, it's beautiful, Yaomomo," Mina gasped.
"Yeah, it's amazing," Uraraka agreed, staring at the glowing lines on the walls.
Momo beamed. "Thank you! I was really nervous about adding so many things, but I'm happy you all like it!"
'What did she do with the huge bed she had originally?' Marvin asked.
'She sent it back to her parents and explained the bed was too large,' Izuku answered. 'It took a while for them to understand though, Momo had to tell them the room was the size of their closets.'
Marvin's eyebrows raised under his blindfold. 'Talk about rich, huh?'
'Oh, well, it's not something that we talk about much,' Izuku replied. 'She doesn't seem to notice, so I don't draw attention to it.'
Tsu was already asleep according to Uraraka, so the group went back to the common room.
Koda's room won the contest, mostly due to his bunny, much to Kaminari's annoyance.
"Having pets has to be cheating," He stated in exasperation.
"You're just upset nobody liked your room," Jiro replied.
"Hey!" Kaminari exclaimed. "Mikrai liked it!"
Jiro sighed, unable to argue that point.
"Oh, before I forget," Marvin stated, drawing the attention of the class. "I wanted to tell you all something. Just to clear the air."
They turned to him curiously, most of them unaware of his past with Izuku.
"Ok, so, show of hands," He stated. "How many of you were suspicious when I just popped out of nowhere during I-Island?"
Almost all of the class raised their hands, with the obvious exclusions of Izuku and Momo, who already knew him, and Bakugo and Tsu, who weren't present.
"Cool, so, what you may not know is that all of you had met me before then," Marvin continued.
"Wait, what?" Mina asked, confused. "No we didn't?"
Marvin grinned. "Before getting my body during I-Island, I had shared a body with Izuku, meaning all of you had somewhat met me before then."
Those that didn't already know were shocked, staring at him with wide eyes and slack jaws.
"Before you ask, no, I wasn't keeping Izuku hostage," Marvin stated. "We switched control of his body often. I mostly took over during combat, which is why Izuku seemed so different when he fought."
"Is that why Yaoyorozu seemed so angry at Midoriya that day during training?" Kaminari asked.
Marvin nodded. "Yep, that was when she learned about me."
"But where did you come from?" Tokoyami asked. "I can sense the darkness within you, so you must have come from a place of great darkness, correct?"
"I forget how observant some of you are," Marvin sighed, removing his blindfold. "But you'd be pretty spot on, Tokoyami."
He looked at them, getting a few wide eyes as the class saw his scar, which stood out sharply against his otherwise clear skin.
"I'm not from here," He shrugged. "I'm from another dimension entirely. No clue how I got here, only know that I don't really want to go back."
"You're an alien?" Toru whispered, her eyes wide.
Marvin snorted. "I'm Hispanic, if that counts," He said with amusement, shaking his head. "No, I'm from Earth, just not this Earth."
"How do you know it's not your Earth?" Kirishima asked, taking the news surprisingly well.
"Several reasons, most notable is that everyone's weaker here," Marvin replied.
He held up a hand, silencing their protests as they began.
"In my world, there were people that could keep up with me," He continued. "For those of you who don't know, I only used roughly half of what I'm capable of when I fought All for One at Kamino."
Most of the class stiffened, the realization sinking in slowly.
"Yes, I'm above All Might," He continued. "I'm not sure how strong he was in his Prime, so I can't say how I'd compare. I know I'm stronger than All Might was when he fought that sludge monster back then, though."
"Wait, how do you know about that?" Uraraka asked, confused. "You told us a few weeks ago that you only met Dekiru the day of the Entrance Exam."
"Izuku told me," Marvin quickly lied without missing a beat. "I could see his memories and vice versa; he showed me the fight as one reason as to why he admired All Might."
'I still can't believe how easily you can lie, Marvin,' Izuku told him.
'I can,' Marvin grinned.
"Anyway, I'm above that All Might," Marvin told 1-A. "And as I told those who went to Kamino, I'm a solder, have been for 13 years. I'm 17, yes I'm a child soldier, yes I have killed, no I don't have qualms with it."
Hebi sighed, the first sound she'd made since speaking with him earlier. "Still zero hesitation, right?"
Marvin shrugged. "Why would I hesitate? Serves no purpose and makes things more difficult."
"Anyway, that's all I wanted to tell you," He said, cracking his neck.
He stiffened slightly, his senses picking something up from a few city blocks away.
Izuku locked eyes with him, his Danger Sense picking it up too.
"Hebi, we're leaving," Marvin stated, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Midoriya-"
Izuku nodded. "Got it, I'll be going out too."
"Wait, what's going on?" Hebi asked as Marvin tied his blindfold around his left hand.
"Threats," Marvin replied, heading to the doors. "Hebi, you'll need to get Eri out of here, Midoriya's going to check the threat. Yaoyorozu, you're the only other one with a License, watch the dorms."
Hebi scooped Eri out of Momo's arms, following Marvin out the door, leaving the rest of 1-A scared and confused at seeing the two strongest students in the class leave so quickly.
Hebi quickly put Eri in the back of the car, with Marvin going over to check as Izuku swung away with Blackwhip.
"The bracelet will tell me if there are any threats near her," He told Hebi. "It's connected to my magic. Don't wait up."
She watched Marvin leap into the air, his Factor condensing around him as he shifted to Baba Yaga.
Marvin leaped across rooftops at Mach 10, quickly crossing the space with ease.
'Nomu,' Izuku told him, reaching the area Danger Sense was telling him about.
'Great, this'll be quick,' Marvin replied, reaching the location and seeing about two dozen Nomu on the streets.
He landed on a Nomu, turning its head into a fine paste before rushing another one.
'Remember, you do not know me,' Marvin reminded Izuku. 'If the media thinks you're with a vigilante, they'll be on your ass.'
Izuku nodded as he grabbed a Nomu with Blackwhip, yanking it high into the air.
He kicked the Nomu's upper body into shreds, sending its lower body careening into the street below.
The two turned as they saw more Nomu appear on the streets and sighed.
It was going to be a long night.

Author's Note: I love this story, I truly do, but due to college and other stuff taking more of my time, I don't have the same drive to write, and it has taken a toll on the story's quality, as much as I hate to admit it.
I am not abandoning the story, not in any way. Chapter updates will simply be slower, probably every two or three weeks, just to keep myself from burning out. I have a new story too, and I do wish to give time and love to that story as well.
Also, I discovered when writing this chapter that Izuku, in the manga, scales to multi-continental in AP (Attack Potency) and is FTL+ in terms of speed.
Due to this, Marvin is returning to the scaling he was at in Chapter 22, which means his power increases to the exponent of 1.025 with every percent above 60. I didn't want Marvin to be too overpowered, but given that he and Izuku are going to be fighting continent-level characters, Marvin's original scaling is necessary.
Marvin's AP is going to cap out at Moon level, which is the tier above Izuku's multi-continental. His speed is going to max out at the far low end of Massively Hypersonic+, meaning Izuku is going to be around four to five tiers faster than Marvin.
To put it simply, Marvin's way, way stronger, but Izuku's much, MUCH faster. For those wondering why I'm doing this, it's because Marvin was meant to curb the loner tendencies Izuku got after the Paranormal Liberation War. He's a foil to Izuku, and vice versa, it's hard to be a foil when you can't even compare to the one you're foiling.
