AN: After last night's episode, I really need some feel-good stuff. (PLEASE DON'T READ THE PARAGRAPH BELOW IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS)

You know what, I'm just going to say this...Asher dying was completely unnecessary. I was so pissed last night that I had zero patience for my students today. Also, while I don't mind Glassman having a love interest, him going out with Dr. Lim's mom just seems weird. So, forget canon Season 7. Lim is still with Clay because she deserves to be happy, Asher and Jerome are together and married, and Glassy is happy together with my original female character Jo. I don't care what happens this season! I'm sticking to my original planned script! No way I'm rewriting this to make it more canon just to cancel my plan to have a chapter where Asher babysits. Also, I'm glad this is the last season because I hate this season so much and now only live for the Parnick and Eden and Shea and Steve scenes now!

Sorry, rant over. I'm just pissed about what happened to Asher.

Still, I hope this alternative to the worst of Season 7 makes you feel better. In this story, let's just say that most of the stuff after 7x01 or 7x02 never happened.

Summary: Shaun and Lea attend Dalisay and Marcus' wedding.

It was March, and Shaun and Lea were expectedly not successful in conceiving last month. However, on the bright side, Steve was doing better since his ear tube procedure, and after celebrating Shaun's 34th birthday last week, they were still going to give having a second baby another shot.

Marcus and Dalisay's wedding reception was held at that fancy luxury hotel where the annual St. Bonaventure fundraising gala was held. All of St. Bonaventure plus the entire San Jose City Council (where Marcus now served on since finding his true passion during his time around the world after he resigned) were guests there.

Also, it was nice to see Olivia again.

The vows ceremony was simple and was even officiated by the mayor of San Jose. The wedding party consisted of the nurses at St. Bonaventure and the councilmen of San Jose.

As Marcus and Dalisay shared their first dance as a married couple, everyone else began to join in with them on the dance floor - Shaun and Lea, Audrey and Clay, Dr. Glassman and Jo, Asher and Jerome, Jordan and Jared, Morgan and Park, and Charlie and Dom.

After the song was over, everyone sat down at different tables to mingle about what was going on in their lives.

While most of the adults were chatting about adult things, the very few children who attended the wedding (including Eden and Steve) were sitting at a table with Mackenzie, who was playing dolls with the children, who were happy to share the toys.

Morgan, Lea, Shaun, and Park all sat at one table and talked about the struggles of raising defiant toddlers.

Eden and Steve had gotten slightly less aggressive with each other when it came to sharing their toys. In fact, a few months after Eden and Steve turned two, when Steve took one of Eden's toys out of her hand during a playdate, Eden (in self-defense) bit Steve so hard that it left a bite mark on his back.

In child development terms, not only was Steve's speech extending to longer than just one or two words, but also almost sounded like complete sentences. Eden, as well, was also already talking in complete sentences.

As usual, Steve was a still stubborn little toddler like he had been since he entered the terrible twos. Not only had he been resisting bedtime, he always insisted he does everything himself - buckle himself in his car seat, dress himself (even when his shoes were on the wrong feet or if his shirts and pants were on backwards), turning the bath and sink faucets on and off, walking up and down stairs without holding Shaun or Lea's hand, and even put on his diaper by himself. On the bright side, the 2.5-year-old did recently show an interest in sitting on the toilet instead of getting his diaper changed, so Shaun and Lea were thinking about switching him to pull-ups and starting potty training.

As for Eden, she was just as stubborn as Steve was. Every time it was time to transition from bath to jammies, she would straight up refuse to leave the tub or run around the house completely naked, getting water all over the floor, after she was lifted out of the tub, being chased by an out-of-breath Morgan or Alex (who said he was throwing his back out by raising a toddler at 52) with a towel in hand. Like Steve, she was also resisting bedtime, and "no" was still her catchphrase.

And speaking of raising a toddler, now that Jerome and Asher were serious about hunting for a surrogate to carry their child and on the first step to becoming fathers, they insisted on babysitting their friends' children as much as possible to get some experience.

"How is Mackenzie?" Shaun asked out of curiosity as he held a glass of champagne in his hand and kept an eye on Steve.

"She is getting better at her anger management," sighed Morgan, remembering how she was at her lowest point back in Guatemala. "I asked her if she was still mad at us about having to bring her to Guatemala with us, but she said she ended up enjoying it."

"She thinks we're the best foster parents she ever had," added Alex as he turned his head to take a glimpse at Mackenzie at her table, where Olivia had joined her and the kids.

The conversation was then cut short by Dr. Lim clinking her spoon against the glass to make a toast.

"Dalisay and I have known each other for a long time," proposed Audrey, raising her glass, starting off with a somber look as she tried not to get teary-eyed. "We both got stabbed at a wedding when I tried to help her flee an abusive relationship...and ever since, we have grown closer."

Everyone clapped as Audrey finished her sermon on Dalisay before moving on to Marcus. "And Marcus...as I still find it weird to call you that since you were my boss, I'm happy for you. And I will say, you may not have been my first choice for Chief of Surgery, but you were one of my first choices during the last two local elections."

Audrey paused for a moment before she raised her champagne glass. "To Marcus and Dalisay!"

"To Marcus and Dalisay!" Everyone repeated.

As everyone ate the food that was catered to them, Lea leaned over to whisper into Shaun's ear. "Steve is staying with Glassy and Jo tonight," she whispered charmingly. "You and I will be alone."

"Okay," agreed Shaun blindly, not yet catching on to what she was implying.

"Shaun, I'm ovulating," she chuckled, breathing into his ear.

"Oh," chuckled Shaun.

Although the reception ended around midnight, Shaun and Lea left at 10:00 pm after they told Dr. Glassman and Jo they were going to spend the night alone.

Lea leaned on Shaun and hung on him as soon as they walked through the door of their house. Their lips met immediately, as Shaun lifted her off the floor, allowing her to wrap her legs around him.

"I love you, Shaun," she whispered in his ear breathlessly as Shaun carried her into their bedroom and gently set her on the bed.

"Do you want to try again?" Shaun asked, climbing onto the bed with her.

"Try what?" Lea asked.

"For another baby?" Shaun confirmed, sliding his hand behind her to dip it down her green dress.

"Of course, get ready for Baby #2," chuckled Lea as Shaun peppered kisses on her jawline as she ran her fingers through his hair.

Slowly, Shaun unzipped Lea's dress, letting the straps drop down her torso and slide to her waist, revealing her nude top half.

As Lea got rid of the dress entirely, Shaun unbuttoned his shirt and took it off.

With both of them topless, Lea fiddled with his belt buckle while Shaun cupped her breasts. They smiled at each other while they simultaneously focused on removing each other's underwear and pants.

In a post-coital cuddle, Shaun and Lea's bodies were pressed up against each other under the comforter; Shaun's arm around Lea.

"Do you think we were successful this time?" Lea asked softly, groaning with satisfaction as she shifted onto her back so she could face Shaun, who was staring down at her as he rubbed her shoulder.

"Maybe, but do you think that maybe we might be getting old?" Shaun questioned with a smile.

"34 and 35 aren't old, Shaun," chuckled Lea.

"You once said that 31 was old in parent years, so that makes our ages old, too. Also, you won't be officially 35 until September," reminded Shaun. "If it takes us longer, you will be of advanced maternal age."

Lea just scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I'm just glad you didn't say 'geriatric'."

"It doesn't make sense to call pregnancies over 35 'geriatric' when pregnancies under 25 aren't referred to 'pediatric pregnancies'," explained Shaun. "Also, the ACOG doesn't use the term 'geriatric pregnancy' anymore. But, our fertility is probably going to start declining soon."

"Probably not too much, Shaun," reminded Lea with a giggle. "After all, you were able to accidentally get me pregnant twice."

"I don't know if Steve's conception counts," joked Shaun, remembering that while Steve was technically an unintended pregnancy when he was conceived, he and Lea were planning to try to get pregnant in the first place when it happened...before they stopped after learning about Lea's Asherman syndrome.

Either way, they really hoped that tonight was the night, because to be honest, they were given a rude awakening when they realized how hard trying to get pregnant actually was.

"I love you, Shaun," sighed Lea, closing her eyes.

"I love you, too, Lea."
