My Little Girl-Ch 2
The next morning Penelope woke up, checked on the baby, she was still sleeping so she grabbed a quick shower and got dressed before heading back through to the bedroom where Jasmine was sleeping in her portable crib. As she stood over the little girl she still couldn't believe it, she couldn't believe that Margaret was gone and that she had left her daughter in her care.
She was pulled from her thoughts when her cell started ringing, she hurried and grabbed her cell before it could wake the baby up, she then said, "good morning angelfish" to the man on the other end of the phone. Derek smiled and said, "and good morning to you too baby girl", she said, "do you need me to hurry to the BAU, do you need a search done?", he said, "no, I called to let you know that we caught the unsub overnight and are on our way back home and should be there in a couple of hours".
Penelope said, "that's wonderful news my vision, just wonderful", their conversation stopped when the baby started crying, "she put her cell on speaker and walked over to the portable crib and picked up the baby and started patting her on the back. Derek said, "sweetness, why do I hear a baby?", she said, "sooooo much has happened since I last talked to you and I promise that I will fill everybody in later but for now hotstuff, momma's gotta go", he said, "oh okay" seconds before the call ended.
He looked at JJ as she said, "did you just say that you heard a baby at Garcia's?", Derek said, "yep, she said that a lot had happened since we last talked but that she would fill us all in later and hung up". Dave said, "now I'm curious, I can't wait to find out what kitten's got to tell us when we get home", Reid said, "I have to admit that I am overly curious myself", Emily laughed and said ,"why don't we all just admit that we're nosy" causing everybody to laugh and nod their heads yes.
Penelope changed Jasmine's diaper and fixed her a bottle and was currently feeding her, she had remembered from her conversation with Rosemary from the night before to only give the baby a couple of ounces at a time and then burp her. When the baby was fed, she fell asleep and Penelope then laid her back down in her portacrib and stood up to grab herself a cup of coffee and chocolate muffin.
It had been a long monrng already and she still had to go to work, she looked back over at the baby and said, "how am I gonna do this, I'm gonna need help" so she grabbed her cell and dialed JJ's number. After a couple of rings JJ said, "what's up Garcie?", Penelope said, "when youi guys land instead of going to the BAU can you all come to my place, I need some help with something?" JJ said, "sure, we'll be there as soon as we can" Penelope said, "thanks Jayje, well I'll see you when you get here", JJ said, "see ya soon" right before the call ended.
The rest of the flight home Derek and the rest of the team tried to figure our what was going on with Penelope but nobody had any idea but they knew whatever had happened involving her happened very fast and it happened last night. When they finally landed they grabbed their things and tossed them into their waiting vehicles and took off, heading in the direction of Penelopes apartment, the sooner they got there the sooner they would know what was going on.
Penelope was looking at baby supplies on her computer when she heard a knock at the door, she glanced over her shoudler and saw that the baby was still sleeping so she hurriedly made her way across the room to answer the door. When she pulled the door open she was met with smiling faces of her team, she hugged them and said, "come in, come in" as she stepped aside so they could come in.
Derek was the last one inside and when he closed the door he pulled her into a loving hug, he said, "I've missed you sweetness", she said, "and I've missed you to my vision", it felt amazing to be in his arms, ohhhh it felt so right being with him, they fit so perfectly together. She came to her senses and inwardly scolded herself for having those thoughts, Derek was her best friend and only her best friend, he didn't love her, well he did but not the way she loved him, he never had and he never ever would.
When they pulled apart she took him by the hand and said, "come on in, let me fill you guys in before she wakes up", Derek said, "she?", Penelope smiled and nodded her head yes as she pulled him to the other side of the room so he could see who she was. Penelope stood beside her family and said, "guys, this is my, well this is my daughter, this is Jasmine", they all looked at each other and then at her and in unison said, "daughter".
She puth er finger to her lips and said, "shhhhh, she's asleep", she then motioned for them to come over and sit down, when they did she started telling them everything that had happened from the time she got home last night till she had talked to Derek this morning. When she was finished Reid said, "wow Garcia, that's amazing, you hadn't seen each other in years and yet she leaves you her most prized possession, her daughter".
Penelope said, "guys, I'm at a loss here, I'm not a mother, I don't know what to do", JJ and Emily smiled at her and Emily said, "don't worry, between, me, Jayje and Fran we can tell and show you everything you're gonna need to know", she looked at JJ who was smiling at her and nodding her head yes. Penelope? said, "the first thing we need to do is help me find a bigger place because this place isn't big enough", Dave said, "that shouldn't be a problem kitten", Penelope sighed and said, "thanks guys I'd be lost without you and your help".
Derek looked at Penelope and said, "sweetness, I know where you can stay", she looked at him and said, "you do, where?, and to no surprise to anybody in the room but her he said, "with me, you can stay with me".
