Species II
Species II: Too Late
A/N: What if Eve was already pregnant before Laura and the others arrived to stop Patrick and kill his offspring?
It had started, and Eve felt it happening inside her body as she changed from human to alien. Creation. Beginning. Sparking. Life. New life.
However, despite her partner being with during this wondrous moment shared between them, she sensed that he…was not entirely with her right now. The way he was looking right now, it was as though he was in tremendous ecstasy. Even as the new life inside her began to take shape and develop in size, Patrick Ross didn't seem entirely…devoted to the new marvel between them.
"Eve!" She heard the man, the man she saw before, Preston Lennox, the first actual man she had laid eyes on when the other man, the heartless one, brought him into her living quarters, and then turned to face him, seeing that he was aiming a gun at her and Patrick, but he didn't fire yet. "Give out of the way!"
Why didn't he just pull the trigger? She was only half human and half alien, a hybrid that was a threat to mankind if she had escaped from captivity and spawned offspring that could destroy the human race over time. Why not just fire at them and try to destroy the threat they represented.
Patrick, seeing who Eve was looking at, became enraged and began to grow larger than she was. Seconds before breaking free of their mating chrysalis, he had shifted into a variation of his alien form that was more brutish and nearly twice Eve's own size. Upon breaking out, the man that disturbed them opened fire upon them…but he didn't shoot Eve. Was he aiming for her…or was he aiming at Patrick?
"Rrraaurgh!" Patrick roared as he moved around Eve, approaching the other man.
"What the Hell's going on here?" Another man, Dennis, asked as he and Laura entered the room.
"Stay back!" Lennox responded, and Patrick closed the gap between them.
"Oh, my God!" Dennis yelled as he and Lennox were knocked back by Patrick.
Patrick then turned to look at Laura, who was looking at what was in between them. Looking down, he saw Eve, standing before them, her alien form showing a large belly she was holding in her hands. This was their offspring-to-be, newly conceived, waiting to be born once it was grown enough to survive outside its mother's womb.
"Eve, I know you're in there! Please, help us!" Laura pleaded to Eve. "Please, help us!"
Eve pondered Laura's plea for her to help them, even as her mating drive resulted in her current state…and made a choice that would have dire consequences for whoever was unfortunate enough to be attacked. She felt attached to her unborn offspring, desiring that it survive, no matter what happened to herself. But Patrick…was someone she felt no such attachment towards…and needed to go. She thrust her spines out from behind, impaling Patrick, causing him to let go of her.
"Gaaaaurgh!" He howled in discomfort…and some measure of contempt, feeling Eve's spines impale him before they retracted. "Rrraurgh!"
He knocked her aside, acting more on animalistic rage than any sense of comprehension; his alien side was enraged that this female, now carrying their future, would just attack him like that. However, now that their future had been secured, Eve didn't need to be conscious or alive for too long. As he approached her, his head split in two and pinned her arms.
Laura could see a tentacle emerging from in between the two-headed terror as she backed away in fear.
"No," she shudders, seeing the tentacle force into Eve's mouth, causing the hybrid to choke as it likely went down her throat.
A full minute went by…and Eve ceased her resisting against Patrick, her arms limp as the tentacle retracted from her throat, its job now done. She wasn't completely dead, just incapacitated to the point of looking dead; Patrick made sure to leave enough of her vital functions active to continue supporting the new life she carried.

Shortly after Patrick was defeated by Press, Laura and Dennis and he slowly disintegrated due to the human blood he was exposed to containing an inherited disease, Eve's body returned to human form as Laura couldn't confirm any signs of life. There was no heartbeat or respiratory function, not even traces of fetal activity. The genetic duplicate of Sil was…basically dead.
Or so everyone was led to believe, as they had no way to determine for sure without taking the body back to the lab for further analysis.
In the back of an ambulance on route back to the lab, unseen by anyone, a cat lands atop Eve's swollen abdomen, eyeing a little boy wearing a sack for clothing that sat in the corner away from the gurney Eve laid on. The cat jumped off Eve…and her belly started to expand further than that of a woman nine months along. Her eyes dilated as her mouth slowly inhaled a new breath, her heart beating rapidly as her arms raised up to grab the sides of her protruding belly. Nerves registering unbearable discomfort fired into her brain as she bared her teeth while the boy just sat and watched the imminent birth of his sibling.
"Aaaurgh!" Eve screamed as her stomach stretched and split open, releasing blood and other fluids across the back of the ambulance, releasing the newborn hybrid.
The ambulance stopped on the road and the drivers got out to go to the back to investigate. By the time one of them pulled the door open, Patrick's surviving son got up and opened his mouth to use his tongue. And the cat that was there…became a meal for the hungry newborn that lashed out at it with a tentacle.
By the time anyone else came, it would be too late. The alien species lived on.
What a mating season it was…
A/N: In a few words, one person on the site just kept nagging me about an update to the Species page, so this story was rushed up. I hope those of you out there can at least appreciate the effort spent in rushing this and making it adequate enough to spend a minute or two to look at. Until next time, people.
