When Derek got to his baby girls bedroom he stopped in the hall to the sound of her singing to Jasmine, he couldn't help but smile, he'd never heard her sing before and she had a beautiful voice, well that didn't surprise him at all, she was a beautiful person inside and out. He leaned up against the door and continued listening as she checked the babies diaper, she then said, "is my little angel hungry, is that what woke you up?", Jasmine laid her her arms, she was whining but not really crying anymore, it was like the sound of hearing her mommy's voice calmed her right down.
Penelope glanced down a few seconds later and found that the baby had fallen back to sleep, she said, ;"awwww love it's little heart", she then kissed the little girl on the forehead and said, "don't worry I'll give you a bottle when you wake up, I'll go down and get one ready now and have it in the fridge". She then laid the baby back down in her crib and turned around to see Derek standing there smiling at her, he said, "you have a beautiful voice sweetness", Penelope blushed and said, "thank you", he said, "is she asleep?", Penelope nodded her head and said, "yeah but I figure she'll be awake again soon so I'm gonna go fix a few bottles and have them ready in the fridge"
As she started to walk around him he reached out and touched her arm and said, "can we talk first?", she said, "sure" as she walked over to the bed to sit down, he nervously followed her ove and sat down beside her, nowwwwww he was nervous, he was finally gonna tell her how he truly felt and now he's nervous. She turned to face him and said ,"what's wrong hotstuff?", he said, "well nothing's wrong, it's just that I need to talk to you, I need to tell you something, something that I have needed to talk to you about for a while and now, well now's the time that I'm finally gonna tell you".
Penelope smiled and said, "alright, I'm all ears", Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "I'minlovewithyou", she looked at him and said, "waitttttttt, slow down handsome, I can't understand a word that you're saying", he nodded his head yes as he tried to will himself to calm down. She reached out and took him by the hand and said, "now try that again, only this time do it slower okay?", he gently squeezed her hand and said, "okay baby girl", he then looked her lovingly in the eyes and said, "I'm in love with you".
Her mouth flew open and she said, "you're what?", he said, "I, Derek Michael Morgan am head over heels in love with you Peneope Grace Garcia", Penelope grinned at him and said, "you, you, you're in love with me?", he said, "sure am, have been for quite a while". Penelope said, "Derek I'm soooooo not the type of woman you usually go after", he crossed his arms over his chest and said, "and what kind of woman do I usually go for?", she said, "beautiful, not just a normal beautiful but model beautiful, the woman that you are usually with is as beautiful as you are and trust me my vision, I ain't her".
Derek pulled her closer and rested his forehead against hers and said, "you are perfect for me baby girl, you are smart, kind, loving, an amazing body and you have one of the biggest and kindest hearts of anybody I have ever seen in my life". Penelope said, "this can't be real, this can't be happening to me, you, Derek Morgan are in love with me?", he nodded his head and said, "that's affirmative sweetness".
Penelope sat in disbelief, she would look down at the floor, then to her hands that were in her lap and from there she would glance at Derek, he said, "Penelope Grace Garcia will you please be my girlfriend?", her heart started racing, wait, did he just say what she thought he just said, did he, just ask her to be his girlfriend?", she said, "I think I'm hallucinating". Derek said, "you're not hallucinating, I just asked you to be my girlfriend, so what about it sweetness, will you Penelope Grace Garcia please be my girlfriend?", she looked down at their fingers that were now intertwined and smiled.
She then looked up at him and said, "are you sure about this, I'm a mother now of a newborn, she's only a few days old Derek, are you ready for that kind of commitment?", he said, "when I see the future I see you and me together, I see us married with kids so yes sweetness, yes I am ready for that type of commitment with you". She looked him in the eyes and said, "well in that case, yes Derek, yes I'll be your girlfriend", he grinned and said, "I love you sweetness", she said, "and I love you", he cupped her face in his hands and leaned in and claimed her lips with his in their first official kiss ever.
