Story Start!

"Nice new arm."

"Says you, but this arm is even heavier than the last one... more durable metals tend to be heavier..." Naruto rolled his shoulder as Trevor held up a torch above his head. Naruto could happily see in the dark of the tunnels they were in, the stinking sewer tunnels. "... still, those vampires chewed through the other one, so heavier is better." Naruto would have preferred a lighter arm if he was being serious about it.

Still, more durable would be better.

"So says me indeed... so... I didn't expect my vampire knowledge to ever come in useful..."

"Whoopie... still, knowing something is better than the rest of us. I would have MUCH preferred that your knowledge be useless." Naruto wiggled a finger in the air.

"Me too."

Trevor agreed.

He would have just liked to be the weakest member of the team with useless knowledge of supernatural creatures from another world. Useless knowledge was knowledge that would never need to be applied, but his knowledge was useful... meaning that they were in a situation where they needed to use it, and he did not like that. Vampires being in Remnant was bad for everyone, worse than the Grimm by a long shot.

"Trevor." Naruto just glanced behind them.

"I know... trust me, I can smell their stinking breath from here." Trevor couldn't see the vampires around them, but he could smell the stench of death in the air. They kept walking though, because they weren't being attacked just yet.

"Close to 12 of them."

"That could be a problem." Trevor admitted as he took his weapon into his free hand. "Odds of surivival?"

"At the moment... well... I'm still here, so I would say 99%... As long as there is a 1% chance of winning, we have like a 99% chance of surviving." Naruto bragged slightly as he looked around. He was confident in his ability to survive any situation he found himself in, and with Trevor by his side he felt he had everything he needed to survive. "Also, they seem to be... staring at you, not me."

"Human versus Faunus, many Vampires forget their human lives and embrace vampire life... and instincts. Humans are food for Vampires... you're a Faunus, visually you look human, but you don't smell human to them... these vampires aren't blood starved, they can think." Trevor had wondered how the vampires would react to a faunus, or if a faunus could even be turned into a vampire in the first place.

A starved vampire might attack a faunus, but the same could be said about a cow. A blood starved, new vampire, would attack anything with blood. Once intelligent thought kicked in, and instincts could be thought through, faunus must look inhuman to the vampires.

"Oh?"

"It also means... here, hold this for a second." Trevor passed the torch to Naruto.

"Sure."

He pulled out a second whip.

"It also means that we're in for a long, drawn out fight... with anywhere between these 12... and 30 more down here, not to mention the asshole that made them. Tonight will be tedious..."

-The Next Morning-

"You two look awful."

"We had... a long... long... loooong night..." Trevor collapsed onto his bed with a sigh. "... We located 59 vampires, and we killed 57 vampires... 2 got away." Trevor complained about their bad luck. The vampires had managed to escape.

"So, you failed."

"Well, we kind of did, and kind of didn't. We found 59 vampires, but we do know there are only 87 vampires... were only 87 down there total, and the guy making them... so... there are 30 vampires and an asshole remaining." Naruto would have liked to stay down there, but the day was the only time when they vampires would not come out of the sewer. That meant that it was the only time that he and Trevor could afford to sleep, since they were hunting the vampires at night.

If they slept on the same schedule as the vampires, then they would not need to worry about vampires attacking humans while they were asleep at night.

"Oh Naruto, are you okay!"

"Turns out, Faunus can't become Vampires." Naruto gave a thumbs up.

He was covered in bite marks.

"Unconfirmed, my theory is that Naruto's willpower is just too damn strong. The pull of vampire lust isn't strong enough to sway him. I do not suggest testing that theory." Trevor half-agreed, but would still rather not take the chances.

"I'm fucking immortal."

"No, you're just too stupid to be effected by most forms of damage... so yeah, I guess you are immortal." Trevor relented, because he couldn't actually picture anything that could kill his team leader in his mind. "Still, we're going to have to do this tonight too... this is going to suck." Trevor just knew that the numbers of vampires would just increase if they didn't go again.

And again.

Until they were all wiped out.

"Yor, Illya, big favor... really big favor, but do you think you could get me some ice bags to put on my back and butt. I got bitten... a lot." Naruto asked as he pointed to the ladies. Illya just gave a smirk and created a bunch of ice above him, allowing it to sprinkle down on his body.

"Are you okay Trevor?" Yor asked Trevor.

No bite marks.

"Unlike Naruto, I'm not a human tank. If I get bitten, I will die... so I kept my distance. Still, I would really appreciate a stiff drink... what is that?" Trevor asked when Yor pulled out a bottle of wine from underneath her pillow. He sat up taller and just licked his lips when he saw the fancy wine that Yor had.

She smiled.

"... I got a bottle for a successful mission, to celebrate... but if you need a drink-" Yor stopped when Trevor raised a hand to stop her.

"... I can wait for that drink."

-That Night-

*Splurt*

"You know, Yor would have been happy to share it now. You didn't have to wait until we were done to drink the wine." Naruto ripped a vampire's head off of his shoulders and tossed it to another vampire to distract her. He and Trevor were back to back so that neither of them had a blind spot, more so for Trevor.

Trevor was dual wielding his whips and keeping the vampires at bay.

"I would have loved to drink it all then... but it would have felt... wrong."

"She did get it to celebrate a job well done, so I understand..." Naruto raised his arm and a Vampire sank her fangs into his flesh. He then punched a hole straight through her face, and grabbed the vampire behind her. "... I'm at 17... what about you?" Naruto was curious.

"19, I'm getting the ones who are trying to escape... 21." Trevor took out two more when he exploded the heads of a duo of vampires who were trying to escape. "That makes a TOTAL of 39... and we have 5 left here... 2 left." Trevor corrected himself when Naruto beheaded 3 vampires.

His weapon's blade extended into a dust sword as he swung it, slicing through their necks with ease.

"So, tell me... who created you two?" Naruto grabbed the male and female vampire pair by the necks and shoved them into the tunnel walls. He made sure to get the man with his metal arm, and he was digging his fingertips into the neck of the woman enough to let her know that if she tried anything he could rip her throat out.

"Can't... say... Master not in Vale."

"Not in Vale?" Trevor frowned.

"My Master... is in Atlas... We were sent to scout... The Master wants to... see if Vale is better... place to start war against humanity... to build his army."

"My Husband, please, say no more-!" Naruto tightened his grip on the woman when she tried to stop her husband from spilling information.

"... We can live... we will be allowed to live if I tell you Master's plans... correct... all the information that I have?"

"Trevor?" Naruto asked Trevor.

"... You can't trust Vampires as a rule, they are sly and will say whatever it takes to survive... which makes them just like humans. I think he's telling the truth... can the two of you promise to never make another vampire, and to never feed on a human again... instead you will feed off animals?" Trevor asked the married couple, who must have been turned into vampires together in their home. They seem to have been vampires long enough to have regained their sanity at least.

"No, we-"

"I'll control my wife, I promise, I swear that I'll never feed on another human if you give us a chance to live! I'll give you the location of the last breeding next, and tonight's target... the vampires in the Western Tunnel planned to attack an orphanage tonight, to feed on the children!" The man gave all the information he had.

Naruto let the couple drop to their feet.

Those words were genuine.

"Naruto..."

"You don't agree with me letting these two go, but we have more pressing concerns. You know more about vampires than I do, and I trust your judgement... but... we can't take the risk that they are telling the truth or not. We have to go... you two... go to Beacon and submit yourselves to Ozpin... tell him everything you know. I'm trusting you... and I'll kill you myself if you break that trust." Naruto started to run through the tunnels.

Trevor quickly joined him.

'So, their master isn't in Vale at all... that makes things outside of our control for now. It makes sense, if their master wants to declare war against humanity, they wouldn't be dumb enough to go where their thrall are making more... playing it safe.' Trevor thought as he followed Naruto. '... and I doubt that their Master is still in Atlas now that James knows about Vampires... so... they are in Vacuo or Mistral, or will soon be there.'

"Sorry."

"For what?" Trevor asked.

"For letting those vampires go, I'm asking a lot of you to trust my judgement, when you know better than I do." Naruto explained his apology.

Trevor glanced down while still running.

"... You didn't do anything wrong, there isn't a good choice. Kill them and we lose information... even if they are lying, you're right... we can't risk an entire orphanage of child vampires being spawned." Trevor didn't like it either, but Naruto made the call that was the lesser of two evils. They still had to trust that the vampires he let go would actually go to Ozpin. "I have no love for humanity... but I don't love the idea of innocents dying either."

Naruto smiled.

"Is Trevy a big old softie?"

"Oh shut up."

The moment, surprisingly, was not ruined by that.
