Down by the Lyon Estates building site, there seemed to be thunder echoing up above, while lightning struck across the skies above. The DeLorean flies over to the billboard, and Braedey lets go of the flag ribbon, Tyler and Orion landing on the ground as well. Andrea was leaning out the side of the DeLorean to see if the boys were alright, only for her to fall out of the car. She fell towards the ground, only for Tyler to catch her.
"Oh, hi." Andrea blushed a little.
Braedey took his foot off the hoverboard and speaks to James over the walkie-talkies. "Dad? Is everything all right, over?"
"10-4, Braedey. But it's very miserable flying weather." James replied. "I'm going to have to turn and make a landing from this direction. I'll have to circle round and make a long approach from the south. Have you got the book?" He asked.
Braedey got the almanac out from his jacket. "In my hands, Dad. I got it in my hands!" He called.
"Let's burn it!" Tyler declared.
Braedey kicked up the hoverboard and spotted an old bucket. Orion grabbed the bucket and puts some wood inside of it, as Braedey puts the almanac into the bucket. Andrea gets the matchbox she took from Biff's Pleasure Paradise, handing it to Braedey. He struck a match, lighting it up, then puts it into the bucket. Soon, a fire was stirring up and began to burn the almanac, ridding it from existence.
Braedey and the others now breathed a sigh. He then looked to the matchbox, and to his surprise, the words started to change! Eventually, they changed from that of "Biff's Pleasure Paradise" to "Biff's Auto Dealing". Braedey looked to the others in shock at what they just saw, so Braedey pulled out the newspaper from 2015A. The headline changes from "Jessie Martin Murdered" to "Jessie Martin Rescued".
Braedey was in shock and amazement. He got to his feet, and ran out to look at the airborne DeLorean. "Dad! Dad, the newspaper changed! My sister is alive! That means everything's back to normal?"
Inside of the DeLorean, James pulls out the newspaper he had. The headlines now changed from "James Martin Committed" to that of "James Martin Commended". He smiled at this. "Mission accomplished." He said.
"That means Jasmine and Buster are okay, right?" Tyler asked next.
"That's right, you guys! It's the ripple effect, the future is back. Now let's go home!" James announced.
"Right, Dad. Let's get back to the fut..." Braedey was cut off when a bolt of lightning strikes a tree nearby, bringing down part of the tree, the teens diving for cover. Braedey then looked up to the DeLorean. "Dad, are you okay?"
"That was a close one, Braedey." James replied back, although he looked to have trouble with keeping the DeLorean flying in the air. "I almost bought the farm."
"Dad, please be careful." Braedey said to James. "You don't want to get struck by lightning-
Suddenly, the car was struck by a bolt of lightning, just as a bright white flash erupted from the vehicle, the teens falling back to the ground, just as the flash faded from sight, a reverse 99 in flames appearing where the DeLorean was before it faded from sight.
Braedey sat up and looked to the sky where the DeLorean was, but it was gone. "Dad? Dad..." He stood up with the others, now feeling concerned for what had just happened. "Dad, are you okay?" Braedey asked on the walkie-talkie, but there was no response. "Dad, do you copy?" Again, no response. "Dad, come in! Do you copy?" He asked.
Andrea now noticed something falling from the sky. It soon fell to the ground, and she picked it up. It was the flag pennant that was attached to the DeLorean. She looked at the burnt end of it. "This is all that's left." She said reluctantly to the others.
"You don't mean..." Orion muttered.
Braedey felt his little heart start to break. He couldn't believe it. "No..." He whispered. "He... he's gone." He said, now looking to the sky as it began to rain down. "Dad is... is really gone."
"And we don't have a way to get back home." Tyler said to them. "And I don't think we could call EVA for help in this one."
Orion now noticed a car slowly approaching and coming to a halt nearby. Orion got the other's attention as they looked, unsure as to who's driving the car.
A man stepped out of the car in a hat and trench coat. "Mr. Martin." He called.
"Excuse me?" Braedey called back.
The man stepped up. "Is your name Braedey Martin?" He asked again.
"Yes..." Braedey replied hesitantly.
The man walked up. "I've got something for you. A letter." He said, handing out a letter in a leather pouch.
Braedey was confused as to this. "A letter for me? But... that's impossible." He hides the walkie-talkie away.
"Who are you, exactly?" Orion asked.
"Western Union." The man clarified. "Actually, a bunch of us guys at the office were kinda hoping maybe you four could shed some light on the subject. You see, we've had that envelope in our possession for the past 100 years." Braedey started to open the letter. "It was given to us with the explicit instructions that it be delivered to a young man with your description... "He gets his umbrella out. "...answering to the name of Braedey, at this exact location, at this exact minute, November 12th, 1985. We had a little bet as to whether this Braedey would actually be here - looks like I lost!" He chuckled to himself.
Tyler stopped for a second. "Wait. Did you say 100 years?" He asked.
The Western Union Man nodded. "Yeah. 100 years, 2 months, and 12 days to be exact. Here, sign on line 6 please, here you are." He gives Braedey a clipboard, and he signed it.
Braedey now opened up the letter. It says "James Ryan Martin of September 1st, 1885". "It's from Dad!" Braedey said to the others, then walked over to the car headlight to shine some light on it. "'Dear Braedey, Andrea, Tyler, and Orion. If my calculations are correct, you will receive this letter immediately after you saw the DeLorean struck by lightning. First, let me assure you that I am alive and well. I've been living happily these past eight months in the year 1885. The lightning bolt-'" Braedey stopped and looks at the date. "1885?!" He looked at the bottom of letter. "September, 1885!"
"He's in the Old West!" Andrea added.
The Western Union Man stopped them. "No wait. Kids, wait a minute, what's this all about?"
"He's alive! My Dad is alive! He's in the Old West, but he's alive!" Braedey smiled happily.
Western Union Man didn't seem to get it. "Tell me, kid. Are you all right? Do you need any help?"
Orion now looked serious. "There's only one man who can help us now." He said, and with that, he, Braedey, Tyler, and Andrea all sprinted off to go and find Doc.
Back in Hill Valley, down at the clock tower, Doc looked at the two cables in his hand, as well as the loose plug down on the ground. How can he get everything connected? He could hear the crashing lightning up above. Doc now realised what he has to do: he connected the plug and cable, then he tied them to the clock hands, the time now 10:03PM. They only had 60 seconds left.
The DeLorean was soon approaching the outskirts of the town, passing by buildings and parked cars as it gathered up more speed. It was going to be close to the wire, almost like the final lap at the Dinoco 400 in 'Cars'.
Doc prepared to make a leap of faith on the cable. He then could hear the faint sound of a vehicle approaching fast. It was the DeLorean! Without a second to think, he leaped off the ledge, using the cable as a flying fox, and slid down it with a yell, Doc fortunately landing in a patch of leaves on the ground.
The DeLorean was fast approaching the town square. The car was soon reaching up to 88 miles per hour, now ready for temporal displacement to travel forward through time and get back to 2015. The car lit up as the flux capacitor shone like a star with all systems now ready to go, but without the 1.21 gigawatts needed to launch forward through time, it won't make it.
Doc grabbed onto the cable at the other end, pulling it free from the fallen tree branch, and ran towards the lamppost. Inside the car, Andrea and the others could see this, then saw they were closing in on the spot where the cables span the street. They close their eyes tightly, and waited for the inevitable, praying they'd make it home.
The clock struck 10:04. An almighty crash of thunder and a bolt of lightning struck the clock tower with the force of unprecedented power, as the cable became electrified, racing along the length of cable. Doc got the plug in, just as the current launched him back. The DeLorean reached the spot, just as the connecting hook makes contact, thus sending the 1.21 gigawatts right into the flux capacitor, the car erupting in a flash of light and a ball of fire, and it vanished into thin air, leaving a pair of fire tracks in its wake as it raced away.
Doc Brown looked on in shock and amazement, the wind whipping around him finally coming to a stop, as the leaves settled down. The cable sparked a bit, then it caught fire, the connecting hook being left behind. Doc looked at the clock tower, and saw it stopped at 10:04PM, not moving anymore, while the storm had moved on. He made his way down to look at the fire tracks as they licked at the tarmac on the ground.
'It worked...' Doc thought to himself in amazement, now looking around at what happened. 'It really worked. They... they made it. They've gone back home.'
Doc suddenly burst out cheering, relief and happiness in his laughter and voice, knowing that he got the four teenagers back home safe and sound, just like he promised. He ran forward with a smile on his face back to his car, then he glanced up at the clock tower one last time.
Doc Brown did good, and he was proud of himself for what he did.
But then, unbeknown to Doc, four familiar figures began to sprint over towards him, all of them looking wet and exhausted.
"Doc! Doc!" Braedey grabbed the scientist, and he spun him around to face the brunette, Doc struck in shock and surprise. "Relax, Doc, it's me, it's Braedey! And I'm here with the others."
Doc was in shock and disbelief. "No, it can't be...I just sent you all back to the future!"
Orion stayed calm during this. "We know. You did send us back to the future, but we're back."
"We're back from the future!" Andrea added.
Doc was unsure of what to think. "Great Scott!" With that, he fainted in the middle of the road, the four teens looking at him and each other.
Now what are they going to do?
