A thousand years ago, Tatia Petrova's blood was used in a Spell to protect the children of Esther and Mikael from their, dangerous, neighbors; the Werewolves. However, Esther, despite her secret hatred towards Tatia, adored the youngest Petrova; Lomasi, or as she preferred to be called Masi, who Ayana and Esther taught Magic to, and with Mikael's permission, Esther had welcomed Masi into their home as she usually would when Lomasi was invited to the Mikaelson's Home for a Family Dinner.

However, this dinner, while tense like it always was due to everyone walking on eggshells around Mikael, was the first dinner that Masi had shared with the children of Mikael and Esther since the death of their youngest Child; Henrik, in weeks. What Masi, or the Siblings, didn't expect was for Mikael and Esther to bring them cups filled with an unknown liquid, which they would later learn was a potion that was laced with Tatia's Blood, and they were all ordered by Mikael to drink.

Confused and worried glances were shared between the Siblings and Masi, but knowing better than to refuse a demand made by Mikael, they drank the unidentified liquid until there was nothing left.

And as soon as they each placed their cups down on the table, Mikael struck.

No one saw it coming.

No one had seen Mikael grab his sword.

Not until a strangled and pain filled gasp escaped Masi's lips as Mikael's, who stood behind the chair Masi had been sitting in, sword pierced her chest from behind.

Masi was the first to fall, followed by Elijah, Finn, Klaus, Kol, and finally Rebekah.

When they awoke, they awoke with heightened senses and a newfound hunger.

A hunger for blood.

But with their newfound abilities and hunger for blood, also came with the loss of Magic.

Finn, Kol, and Masi could no longer access their Magic.

Finn was at a loss at feeling disconnected from his Magic, as were Kol and Masi, but Kol, who had a much deeper connection to his Magic than his Older Brother ever did, felt as if his soul had been ripped to shreds, and he snapped. While Finn became depressed, Kol gave into his new instincts, his newfound basic need for blood, and for a short while, Masi had joined Kol, but she never went so far as to kill her victims.

Not until the night Mikael took all of them hunting.

With the smell of blood in the air, Masi and Klaus lost control of their thirst for blood, and drained her victim dry, killing them, and awakening their beasts, their Curse; the Wolf.

Their screams of agony as their bones snapped, bringing them to their knees, had caught the attention of Elijah and Mikael to where they were, and Elijah would have run to their aid if Mikael hadn't held him back the moment he saw Masi's and Klaus' eyes turn yellow, revealing the eyes of their beastly nature.

In that moment, Masi felt her connection to Nature, to Magic itself, return.

But it was short lived.

Mikael, with his hatred towards Werewolves and furious by his Wife's betray, had her cast a Spell that would suppress Masi's and Klaus' Werewolf Nature, and in doing so, Masi would lose her connection to Magic again.

Esther had successfully suppressed Klaus' and Masi's Werewolf Nature, with the help of the Full Moon, Tatia's Doppelganger Blood, and a Moonstone, which would later become three of six items that would help in breaking the Curse. Feeling just as betrayed as Mikael had been with Esther about Klaus' True Parentage and Cursed Heritage being locked away, Klaus killed Esther in a fit of rage, with Masi, being his only witness to his brutal act of ripping out her heart, made a vow of silence.

She would never reveal to anyone, not even Klaus' Siblings, that it had been Klaus who had killed her Mentor and not Mikael, who Klaus blamed Esther's death on, easily weaving the lies of how Mikael, despite having forced Esther to lock away Klaus' Werewolf Nature, was still enraged with her betray to their Marriage and had ripped out her heart. And for a thousand years, Masi had kept that secret close to her heart, even when Klaus had told her and Elijah that he had scattered Rebekah's, Kol's, and Finn's bodies at sea in 1933, which was seventy-seven years ago.

That was the last time Elijah and Masi had seen Klaus.

Klaus had not searched for them since that day in Germany, as Elijah had sworn to avenge their fallen Siblings, and he had threatened Klaus to stay away from Masi, who he had to forcefully drag away from Klaus, as the youngest known Original had been to stunned by Klaus' actions to move.
