Being different sucks sometimes doesn't it? On top of that try being in highschool with the strangest ability that you have to keep to not stand out even more. That's the life of Jason Love, an average highschooler that love being himself and confident to his core. But when this new student arrives, everything he thought he knew was questioned not even his powers can save him now.

3. Chapter 3

Chapter 3

While still hugging, Drake whispers to me.

D- "Jason, I think I'm gay."

I pulled away a little to look him in the eyes and seen a wave of relief swept over him. The pain of holding that in was gone, i couldn't help but smile.

J- "That is beyond ok, I'll love to have an awesome gay frien-"

Then Drake pulled me in and kissed me. 5 seconds later, i was finally able to pull away. With shocked eyes I finished what I said.

J- "Friend..."

D- "what"

J- "I was going to say 'I'll love to have an awesome gay FRIEND'. And why can't you just ask someone's sexuality instead of assuming it? That's what started this mess."

Drake let go of me and teared up.

D- "I'm... I'm sorry I don't know what came over. Dammit why am I ALWAYS LIKE THIS!"

He started crying again and he ran away.

J- "DRAKE WAIT! Dammit."

I started to chase after but then I remembered that damn plant.

J- "I swear to God this plant caused more drama in my life than Carla ever did."

I grabbed the plant and dropped it off in front of the home ec room.

J- "Mr. Green better give me an A for watching this damn plant."

I started to look around the building for him. 5 minutes later I hear a loud bang like someone punched a locker.

J- "ha found him"

I ran as fast as I could to the boys' locker room and when I made it there i saw him in the stall sitting on the floor. I tried to open it but he locked himself in, so I sat down on the opposite side of him.

D- "I'm sorry, i didn't know."

J- "It's fine not knowing everything in this world. Don't beat yourself up about it."

D- "But i kissed you without consent. I read that situation completely wrong."

J- "It's ok, I guess I was a little naïve of it too. What I did was a little suggestive."

I laughed a little and I heard him chuckle.

D- "aww you have such a cute luagh."

J- "haha thank you. You know we clear up a lot of things of you just ask me the right question"

D- "Yeah I guess. Hey Jason are you gay?"

J- "No, I'm not gay"

D- "Oh damn I really wish you were. I really thought we could have a great life together. I'm sorry that I like you. No scratch that, I think I fell in love with you over the weeks and I can't believe it."

J- "huh? I don't understand why we can't live a good life together. Oh I guess someone still hasn't asked the right question."

I reached under the stall and grabbed his hand.

D- "Oh that's right there are more than 2 sexualities."

J- "Yup"

D- "Alright, Jason what is your sexuality?

J- "I'm Bisexual"

He held my hand tighter.

D- "So have you had thought being with me?"

J- "I'm not even gonna lie, i had. Plenty of times but I couldn't understand why cause you get on my everlasting nerves. But the lines between love and lust where blurred. So I held back too. I wanted to make sure I liked you like you and not just a silly unrequited crush."

D- "Wow is that why you put up with me?"

J- "Yes. I was so happy to see you whenever and wherever. And now after I know the truth."

I let go of his hand and stood in front of the stall door.

J- "I now know where my true feelings lay and I would love to see your smiling face again. Don't lock yourself out of a world that only wants to see you happy."

He hesitated a little.

J- "Hey, Roses are red, i saw you down the hallway, I know your feet tired cuase you've been running through my mind ALL DAY!"

He opens the door with a big goofy smile.

J- "There goes my smiling prince"

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. It was magical.

J- "let's go back to home ec and finish those cakes"

D- "yeah I'd love to."

We came back to the room and i saw the cakes i left in the oven was out cooled and ready to prep.

J- "huh? I wonder who took them out?"

All of a sudden I felt a murderous presence behind me.

Yoyo The Undying Spoke with a deep heavy voice- "Who the FUCK leaves a oven on without watching it!"

We fell to the floor with a terrible fear.

J&D- "WE ARE SORRY"

Then all of a sudden the murderous fearing intent disappeared.

Y- "Good, so did you guys have fun sorting it out?"

J- "You knew didn't you?"

Y- "Since day 1. Now finish y'all project so I can go home and sleep."

J&D- "YES SIR"

We worked together for the first time ever. We was so in sync and had fun with it. I've never felt so happy, and now I see him truly happy inside and out. I couldn't believe it but in no time at all, we had finished both cake and put it in the fridge for tomorrow. All 3 of us left the building but when we turned to say bye to Mr Green he disappeared.

D- "well damn I guess he wasn't kidding about wanting to go home."

J- "Yeah"

D- "If you want I could walk you home"

J- "I would love that"

We walked together and talked about all random things and got to know each other better. We made it to my house and he stood at my door. I hugged him.

J- "I can't wait to have more days like this, but without me chasing you around the school lol."

D- "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow"

I went in for a good night kiss but he only gave me a peck. I didn't let it bother me. And went in and went to sleep.

Tomorrow in home ec we all presented our cake project. It was kinda strange, there was like 2 five layered cakes, but the others were either 3 or 4 layers. Me and Drake sat next to each other and we were having a fun conversation.

Carla- "Aww you guys look so cute together, I know who I'm voting for tomorrow."

J- "Lol you just want some tea, well actually we..."

Drake interrupted me

D- "We've just became good friends"

Not to cause a scene I confirmed what he said.

J- "That's exactly what I was gonna lol we're totally in sync"

(In that moment Yoyo overheard what transpired and knew what was about to happen -in Yoyo's mind- "Aww you're about to break you own heart just to fix his, sigh I'm so sorry to push you this hard my child but you're strong I believe in you.")

Y- "Attention class, it came to my realization that some of you guys actually read the rubric. Each layer done is a letter grade. 1 layer is an F, 2 D, 3 C, 4 B and 5 A. Since there's only two 5 layer cakes we'll just judge those 2."

After the class voted our cakes was selected for the Winter dance tomorrow. I guess that was a bittersweet victory. Class ended and I pulled Drake aside and waited for everyone to leave.

J- "Drake..."

D- "I'm sorry. I'm not ready to tell anyone yet please don't be mad."

J- "Drake I know and I'm not mad. Just disappointed in you and me. I thought you broke all the way through but I see you haven't."

D- "Yes i will, just give me some time."

J- "No problem"

D- "Really?"

J- "Yes, But I am nobody's secret. Once you finish with whatever you have going on then come find me. Good Bye Drake."

I felt my heart broke and I ran like a bat out of hell. I ran and ran and keep on running until I ran into someone.

My eyes were filled to the brim with tears i couldn't see who I ran into. They hugged me and I just started crying profusely.

Unknown- "There there my child. Love hurts doesn't it."

He has a warm soothing familar voice and it calm me down dramatically. I hugged him back.

J- "It really do and I don't know why I hurt so bad. Nothing is physically wrong but I'm in so much pain. I've never felt like this before"

My tears wailed up again and he pat my back.

Yoyo's POV

I see Drake at the end of the hallway. I don't know if I am just overprotective of Jason but I was so enraged at Drake for hurting him like this but I had to remain calm and signned to him to be quiet and leave until tomorrow and he did.

Jason's POV

Unknown- "it's ok let it out. I think you already know why. And congratulations on understanding your emotions."

Then I realized who It was.

J- "thank you Mr. Green"

Y- "You're welcome my child, life gonna be hard sometimes but it will get better. Wanna go home and rest up. You have a big day tomorrow. I don't want weary eyes ruining your day."

J- "Sure, Thank you sir"

I left and want home to rest up. The next day, me and my parents (as chaperones) arrived at the dance. I am in my finest Suit and kicked it with Carla, Mary, Victor and Adam.

J- "Hey bestie, you here all by yourself?"

C- "Gurl nawh I got you ... And Alex if he ever shows up."

J- "You know what I stay forgetting you have a whole boyfriend."

C- "Why is that so?"

All of us but Carla- "Cuz you a hoe!"

We all busted out in laughter but Carla.

C- "Well damn you guys didn't have to say it in unison."

J- "We had to cause it's the truth."

C- "I've been faithful to him... But look at that Tall Dark Handsome drink of water over there."

I turned and saw it was Drake coming in with his parents.

J- "See, Your hoe-ness courses through your veins. Anyways I'm gonna get some drinks for the punch table."

C- "ooo bring me some Dr. Kelp."

J- "yeah yeah"

I promptly got up and left. I tried to put as much distance between me and him as possible. Then 5 minutes later I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turned around.

J- "Oh Hi Drake, you getting something to drink? I'll leave, don't want anyone getting the wrong idea"

I fake luagh with a smile. I turned and tried to walk away as fast as I could.

D- "Jason please stop."

I stopped but I didn't turn back around, I didn't want him to see the pitiful look on my face. A few seconds passed.

J- "I'm listening"

D- "I'm sorry I know what I said hurt but it not like that that. I don't want my parents to know. But I..."

I turned around and smiled at him

J- "it's ok if you're not ready to be who you are. I'm just happy that I helped you find it"

I turned my head because I couldn't keep that mask any longer.

J- "Good Bye Drake"

D- "wait please"

I disappeared in the crowd and when I knew I was out of his line of sight. I ran into the hallways. I saw a room open and ran in. To my surprise it was the home ec room and Mr. Green was setting in there reading a book.

Y- "Um hi Jason? Why are you here instead of enjoying the dance?"

J- "it's just too much right now. Can just stay in here for awhile?"

Y- " I guess but we gotta leave when they want the cake."

J- "ok"

I just put my head down on the desk and tried to relax. 45 minutes passed.

Y- "Alright Jason time for us to go. Since it is your cake wanna bring it out with me?"

J- "Guess I don't have a choice in the matter do I?"

Y- "Nope"

I helped put both cakes on a cart and wheeled them out to the gym where the dance was. Carla instantly locked eyes with me and moved through the crowd like Moses parted the Red Sea in which she did not. Poor people she ran over.

C- "BITCH, where have you been?! Your man been looking everywhere for you. I know he asked everyone here at least 4 times. And it's almost time for the Winter Prince and Princess selection."

J- "Hold the fuck up, Who? I don't have a man."

C- "What you mean? Drake is your boyfriend right? I saw y'all chemistry yesterday and how you guys did that cake. I just knew you guys were lying about being friends."

J- "umm no we are not dating even if I wanted to. He's too scared of coming out in front of his parents. So no we aren't together."

C- "Ah. Ah. Ah. a..."

J- "Carla"

C- "I fucked up"

J- "No"

C- "I fucked up"

J- "NO"

C- "I FUCKED ALL THE WAY UP"

J- "PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YOU DIDN'T SPEND THAT RUMOR"

C- "..."

J- "..., You did, didn't you"

C- "yup to the whole school. And with him looking for you it kinda solidify it"

J- "OMFG"

C- "I'm sorry but you should have told me sooner"

J- "How? It was barely 24 hours for me to know."

C- "ah ok this was one was on me but you might have a surprise coming your way."

J- "what you mean?"

C- "I kinda peeked at the Results and..."

Our gym teacher Mr. Combest got on stage and grabbed the mic.

Jack- "Attention Students and Chaperones. The Winter Kingdom results are in and the votes are outstanding and unprecedented. And I am Proud to present our Royal Couple Jason Love and Drake Johnson. They had gotten 95% of the school votes."

The runner ups side eyed they're friends and they looked away.

Jack- "Come up here and claim your crown"

Drake got on stage and instead of getting the crown he looked onto the crowd looking for me. An spotlight spotted me and the crowd parted like the Red Sea.

He jumped off stage and looked directly at me. In the distance he's Mom screamed

Audrey- "THERE'S NO WAY I HAVE A FUCKING GAY SON"

The dad stood in shock.

The music completely stopped and Everybody instantly turned to them and boo'ed Drake's parents. Drake stood strong and destroy the feelings of fear of his parents acceptance.

D- "WELL I DON'T CARE!"

His voice cut like a knife through the crowd and everyone was silenced.

D- "I LIVED THROUGH A LIFE HIDING, FEARING AND CRYING THINKING I WAS MADE WRONG. YOU FILLED MY LIFE WITH HATE AND PAIN AND THOUGHTS OF YOU GUYS ABANDONING ME BECAUSE I DIDN'T FIT IN YOUR GUIDE FOR A 'PERFECT' LIFE. THAT WAS MISERY THAT WASN'T PERFECTION."

I saw everyone felt the pain in his words. Even me, some of them started crying. (Sunkissed by K Dreams play in the background)

Drake- "BUT THE DAY I SAW HIM, I felt something different. As neverous as I was for some reason being with him, being around him, talking to him, working together, walking together, just being near him, I AM happy and I know I don't know everything in this damned world..."

His voice started to said sweeter and sweeter with every word. And he started walking closer and closer to me.

Drake- "Nor can tell the future but I can guarantee one thing that I will always be happy with him."

He stood in front of me again everyone watched.

Drake- "But will you be happy being my boyfriend?"

I kissed him and everyone cheered

Jason- "Of Course I'll love to be your Boyfriend"

And we kissed again but the mom snucked passed the crowd dragging the father who was still dazed and confused.

A- "If you don't unhand him right now and straighten up you won't have home to go back to."

I saw her shaken emotions but the dad was just... confused? Or processing? I don't even know. I've never seen emotions like that.

D- "Um. No."

A- "No?"

D- "Yeah, No. He was the first person ever to sacrifice a lot of themselves to help me and to love me. I'm not giving that up for everyone."

The crowd awed. He embraced me so tenderly. My parents stood beside us in full support and hugged us.

A- "I AM YOUR PARENT, you do as I say"

Michael Love (Dad)- "Parent? hahaha! Parent? You hear that honey?"

Theresa Love (Mom)- hahaha. Yeah I heard that. At that funny as hell."

My mom straighten up and very seriously said

TL- "The absolute bare, I mean THE LOWEST OF BAR, A GAP OF 0.000001 NANOMETER, THE ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM of being a parent is accepting your child for who they are. And if you can't do that then you are not fit to be a parent, you're just a surrogate. Your past does not define your future, what happened in that past does not have a part in what happens now. And if you can't love him for that, then we'll be his family.

ML- "I'll be his family"

Jack- "I'll be his family"

The dj on the mic- "I'll be his family"

Carla- "I'll be his family"

The basketball team- "We'll be his family"

The football team- "We'll be his family"

Then all the students at the top of their lungs shouted- "WE'LL BE YOUR FAMILY!"

Seeing and hearing that got Drake really teary eyed and I turned his to me.

J- "I am your family and I'll always be there for you"

He cried so hard and his soul was happy. I held him up. His mom got hella pissed and tried to storm out and grabbed his dad.

Y- "Stop and let James go. I want to hear what he had to say."

She let him go and waited. Drake stood up and looked at his dad with hurt eyes. It was obvious that he had a better connection with his dad then his mother. He gripped my hand tighter.

Drake- "Dad please don't be disappointed in me."

I swear to God nothing fazed this man but when his son said that it broke what ever trance he was in.

James- "What? No I'll never be disappointed in you. I was just processing it, I have zero problems with you being gay. I never thought you could be gay. You've fake straight so long I couldn't find any memories that could suggest otherwise. Even when we had 'The Talk'. I'm just furious and angry at myself for making you feel like you couldn't tell me that. Trust and believe that nothing on this planet, in this galaxy fuck it in this UNIVERSE would ever stop me from Loving you my son."

He ran and hugged his son and the fear and doubt in Drake melted away.

D- "I love you dad"

James- "I love you too son"

Audrey ran out the gym and everyone cheered.

Mr. Green grabbed the mic

Y- "Now that, that's over with can I have our Princes get there crown and be the first to cut the cake."

JJ- "Thata boy, go get your crown with your boyfriend."

D- "thank you dad"

We got on stage and everyone cheered then went to the cake.

Carla- "Yeah guys, you can have your cake and eat it too."

J- "Bitch that was corny as all living hell"

Drake laughed so hard over it, it made me smile. He grabbed my hand and we cut the cake and grabbed our slice. I shit you not, 35 seconds later both cakes where gone.

Victor- "Man best cake ever"

We enjoyed the dance and I saw Mr. Green talking my parents. I got curious and started to walk to them. They're laughing about something, i hope they're not talking about me. I shuffled faster pass the crowd. That I saw him kiss my mom forehead and high fived my dad and they're still smiling. I need answers in 2 seconds i got to them.

TL (mom)- "Congratulations hon-"

J- "Mom are you cheating on dad right in front of him with my teacher? And why are you ok with it dad? And Mr. Green I trusted you, thought you was better than that."

They stared at me with all the confusion in the world.

Theresa- "What?"

Michael- "What?"

Yoyo- "What?"

Jason- "Umm?"

Y- "Huh? No wonder why you never say my first name even if you saw me outside of class. I thought you was trying to keep it professional."

J- "ummm what? Why would I call you by your first name"

Y- "Because I'm your uncle. Well your Great uncle because your mom is my niece. I use to babysit you everyday until you went to kindergarten."

I was in disbelief.

TL- "Don't tell me you forgot about him?"

J- "I thought that was granddad"

Y- "My brother? For God sakes no my child."

Then it clicked

J- "IT WAS YOU! UNCLE YOYO!"

ML- "That took you too long to realize and you had a whole semester with him.

J- "I don't wanna talk about it"

Y- "Well anyways nice catching up with you guys, I have and announcement to make. And Jay your boyfriend is looking awfully lonely without you."

J- "You're right, and I'm sorry for the accusations lol."

I ran back to Drake and we kicked it with everyone.

Yoyo- "Alright everyone can I have your attention. This is the last dance of the night. First can I have the Kings and Queen, the parents of the princes, on stage. (They walked on stage) Do you give your sons this last dance together?"

In unison all 3 parents said "Yes".

At the students stood in a circle around us and a beautiful song played. I stood tall and extended my hand out to him.

Jason- "Would you like to have this dance with me Prince Drake"

He put on a big smile.

Drake- "Of Course Prince Jason"

He grabbed my hand and I pulled him in.

J- "You don't know how much I love that goofy smile of yours"

D- "Oh shut up jaybird"

And he kissed me. We slow danced the night away. Once it was over, we all said our leavings. Outside I pulled Drake to the side.

J- "Are you ok going home tonight?"

D- "Yeah I'm perfectly fine with it. My dad got me and Audrey gotta figure it out."

J- "Good I'll see you tomorrow"

Drake hopped in his dad's car and left.

Y- "Hey Jayjay a word"

J- "oh, yes mister... I mean uncle. Man that gonna take a minute."

Y- "Ah don't worry we literally have all the time in the world. Because you and I perfectly know magic is real. TIME STOP."

All of a sudden I see everything freeze. I turned around to see the world.

J- "Wow you have time magi- YOU CAN FLY?!"

Y- "OH I can do way more than that. Phoenix Cloak, Celestial Lights."

A cloak of fire roared around him and stars orbited him.

Yoyo The Star Mage- "12 Elements of magic appear"

A beautiful display of magic appeared all around him.

Yoyo- "Release"

Everything disappeared in an instant but time was still stopped.

Y- "Did you like that exhibit nephew"

J- "THAT WAS FUCKING WICKED DUDE"

Y- "I KNOW RIGHT"

J- "But why are you telling me now?"

Y- "Well now that you accepted yourself your powers can flourish. So I am inviting to be one of our Mortal Zodiacs. We'll hone your powers and take you to places you've never known."

J- "Wow that would be awesome but I think I'll decline, i can't imagine being without Drake."

Y- "I understand, it's no problem the door is always open for you."

J- "thank you Mr. Yoyo. I mean Uncle."

Y- "You're ok my child. I'll see you next semester."

He disappeared and time started again.

ML- "HEY SON ARE YOU READY TO GO?"

J- "YEAH DAD"

I left with them. Sophomore year was a breeze and amazing with my amazing boyfriend. We we're basically attached at the hip. Everyday was a honeymoon. Until the last 2 weeks of Senior year. He started to be wierd and a little distance.
