No, wait! Is what Theodore Grey would have said if he had any sort of backbone. Though letting go seemed best; the need to keep her near was for one reason and one reason only- attention.

Was that bad? Elena displayed a level of care and affection no one else dared... Even sharing parts of herself that would have otherwise been kept secret. Who could blame an adult male yearning for some genuine interaction? Whether conversation depended on sex or not... It was nice.

"Ted! Who was that?"

Staring horridly at Marion appearing from between hedges, Teddy speared Pheobe with a glower.

"Hey... Don't attack me; that's what I was coming to warn you about. She's crazy tonight."

Before much more could be said, the squealing blonde advanced, latching onto her target. God... What would their father do at such behavior?

"Omg... Teddddd...why did your little friend leave so fast? Afraid to introduce me?"

Okay. Red flag number one: Marion just finished drinking; not only was she teetering, but the horrid smell. Red flag number two: she had no sense of boundaries anymore. Red flag number three: Those invisible quotation marks were so obvious.

The tipsy woman then turned to grin- actually grin- at Phoebe.

"I've always hated you because you're so prettyyyyyy... Teddy. I love your sissy now... Wanna date? Pleaseeeeee?"

Doing his best not to touch her in any offensive way, Theodore shoved the girl away.

"No... Marion... I can't."

Instead of interrupting like last time Pheobe folded both arms, watching everything ensue. Ugh. Good sibling right there...

"But whyyyyy? We kind of already are... Come on..."

At nimble fingers tugging at velvet, Teddy groaned, thinking of a scapegoat.

"Stop. Marion. Just stop. I'm taken."

The fair-haired stalker recoiled, shocked at his strict tone. Damn. He'd never talked to anyone that way before. The air went silent.

"I-"

"By who? That whore? Who even is she? I've never seen her around town."

Grey paused, thinking of a viable excuse. Lie. He'd lied about someone he barely knew. Well... Too late to turn back now.

"It's new, but... I... I truly care for her and it's serious."

For one minute it seemed Marion would buy this ridiculous excuse, but mere seconds later, scoffed.

"I don't believe you."

Coming in like a knight in shining armor, Pheobe left the confines of the building, stating:

"Oh, believe it, honey. She's as good as they get."

The fair-haired devil seethed.

"What's her name then?"

Theodore cut in before his sibling could do so:

"Elena. Elena Hyde Jr."

Wow. Saying the virtual strangers name felt good- more than good. For some unfathomable reason it brought clarity to his life. Hmmm. Creepy considering the very woman had no idea a rando was fantasizing about being with her.

Marion eventually sniffed, appearing heartbroken.

"If I knew there was no chance in hell for us... I wouldn't have bothered..."

As she went on sobbing, another figured shot into existence: a much older lady with dark locks and professional attire. But that expression... It made her look permanently... Bitchy.

"Marion! MARION! I... Oh... I've been searching high and low for you!"

Marion's head hung in shame. Drunk as she was.

"Sorryyyyyy... Mother..."

Stumbling forward, the blonde made her escape only for mother dearest to glower.

"You Grey's. Approving of such loose behavior. Drinking. Partying. I should report you to the authorities. My little girl isn't even twenty- one yet!"

Once alone again, Phoebe speared her brother with an expression that clearly said: What the fuck?

"So... Teddy and Elena sitting in a tree?"

Gah. He couldn't even find it in him to be upset. For now, this lie seemed to fit just fine.

Hey everyone!! Sorry for the added note, couldn't figure out how to do it manually... Thank you for all the lovely words and reviews.
