Chapter 2: Training with Deku
The next few days, you spent training with Deku after classes, and you eventually were able to control gusts of wind to potentially defend yourself from Bakugo's explosions. Today, Midoriya was running late to meet you in the training hall. He was never late, to anything. A few moments later, he came running in out of breath, looking exhausted. You ran up to him. "Midoriya! Are you alright?! You're never late..." Deku nodded. "I'm fine...Kacchan stopped me on my way here." You look at him confused. "What did he want...?"
Deku shook his head. "I...I'm not allowed to say..." he looked down. "Midoriya... please, we have to work together to beat Bakugo...you cant keep things from me..Did he hurt you...?" Deku shook his head. "No, but he threatened me..." You gasp. "He did?! I warned him to leave you alone..." Deku shook his head again sadly. "It... wasn't about the fight...it was about something else..."
You look at him confused. Soon after, Bakugo storms into the training hall. "Soooo look at this? Deku and his hero Y/N training together!" You turn around glaring at Bakugo. "What do you want?" You say annoyed. "Tch. Forget it, Newbie. This is between Deku and I. You should ask the nerd here about his secret!" You look at Deku, and his cheeks turn red. "Midoriya, what is he talking about?" Deku piped up, "Kacchan! This isn't fair! I'm not ready yet!" Bakugo smirked. "Does Gravity Girl know???"
You look at Bakugo. "Uraraka? What about her?" Deku facepalms. "Oh, he hasn't told you about her crush on him?" You dart back at Deku. "You have a crush on Uraraka?" Deku shook his head. "I...no. No. I don't... You're just trying to make me look bad, Kacchan, so Y/N doesn't want me to help train them anymore!" You believe this is something Bakugo would do. "Bakugo. What is your goal here?" You look at him.
Bakugo backs off a moment. "Tch. Deku knows." Deku looks at you, then Bakugo walks out angered. Deku scratches back of his neck, "I think Uraraka is a great friend, and she'll be an amazing hero one day, but it isn't like that..." he said shyly. You sigh, "Well, if you do, who am I to stop you...Can we get back to training?" Deku smiles and nods.
Deku walks over to you. "Alright...uhm... we are going to work on close range attacks... Without quirks, it will be a physical strength exercise. I can take a lot of damage to my body, so don't be afraid to hit me, okay? Besides, we will both have padding on.You'll need...to block my hits as well. Got it??" You look at him a moment. "So... you want us to fist fight each other...?" You say hesitantly.
Deku nods. "Yeah, don't worry, we will be protected!" he smiled. His smile reassured you, and you felt something in the pit of your stomach. It was nothing like you've ever felt before. You smile back, nodding, and you both put on the padding. Deku walks back up to you. "You ready?!" "Yeah!" you say in a fighting stance. You punch his stomach, and he begins laughing really hard. "Huh?" You were confused. Was your punch that weak? Why would he be making fun of you.
You punched his stomach again harder, and he laughed even more. "Hey! Why are you laughing at me!?" He stops laughing and puts a hand on your shoulder. "Ha ha...oh jeez... sorry! The padding makes punches ticklish!" he laughs again. "Here! Let me show you." He punches you in the stomach, and you clutch your stomach laughing. The padding must have some sort of quirk used on them to protect the students when sparring with direct hits. You laugh loudly and punch Deku in the stomach again.
You both keep punching each other and continue laughing. After a few moments of punching each other back and forth the padding falls off, and Deku catches both of your fists in his palms blocking you from accidentallypunching him, you both look at each other a moment breathing heavily. "That...was a lot of fun..." Deku says nervously attempting to catch his breath. "Heh...Yeah it was..." Deku is still holding your fists, you are both locked in each other's eyes.
Deku's face begins to turn red as you feel yours start to flush as well. Deku without hesitation quickly leans in and kisses you soflty. Your eyes widen in shock, but slowly close your eyes and begin to kiss back. You drop your hands to your sides going limp into him almost. He places a hand on your cheek. then slowly pulls away, not breaking eye contact. "Oh...uh...sorry...I...wasn't thinking...you're just...a really great person...you're very attractive too..."
You blush, "So are you, Midoriya..." You smile with your face beat red. "I...like you Y/N..." Deku says softly. "I...like you too Midoriya..." You smile and blush deeply. "I...ive never done this before...but uh...D-do you...want to go out with me...? Like...on a date..?" he says nervously. "I'd really like that..." You reply sweetly.
Deku smiles brightly. "Really?! I...I mean...cool...uh... I can meet you at your dorm at 7...? We can go to dinner...?" He smiles nervously. "Sounds perfect. I'll be ready..." You smile and grab your bag. "I'll see you tonight Izuku!" Deku blushes at you using his first name. "Cool! I'll see you then!" You both head to your dorms to prepare for your date, you are so nervous and excited to be going out with him. You just hope you won't let your new found relationship get in the way of preparing for the fight against Bakugo...
