Episode 2: Chapter 8
"And where do you think you're going?"
Minerva stood in front of the window by the front door. Her arms were crossed and she stared daggers at her sister. Sophie inwardly grumbled. Since her and Kyle had declared their relationship at school, Minnie had barely said two words to her. And if she did, she always knew what it was about.
"Where do you think?" She was tired of playing this game. "Kyle came over to meet Mom and Dad. Now I'm returning the favor."
Minerva snorted. "Awe how cute. I still can't believe you won't listen to reason. It'll only hurt you in the long run."
Sophie thrust open the door. Leave it to her sister to get her ass motivated, even if it's out of spite. "It's not "reason", Minnie, it's your phobia."
She strutted outside before her twin could retort. Thankfully, there wasn't much of a wind that could blow her cheetah print skirt around, but she wore her black turtleneck and boots. Her thoughts were so focused on her simmering annoyance with Minerva, she hadn't even realized she was at the spot she planned to meet Kyle until she realized she was approaching his smiling face.
He was also looking cute. He wore a brilliant royal blue shirt, cargo pants and sneakers. He put an arm around Sophie's shoulders and she leaned into his embrace.
"Are you nervous?"
Sophie meekly shrugged. "A little... but I suppose the worst has already happened. I can't make a worse impression I guess."
Kyle chuckled. "Yeah, I guess. Well, I guess you can't make a worst second impression."
"God, I hope not."
The two teens laughed before they approached Kyle's front door. "Any tips?" Sophie asked nervously.
Kyle just shrugged. "She's a bit eccentric, I guess, but just be chill and everything will work out fine. I'll probably be more embarrassed than you."
Sophie smiled. "I'll take that anyway."
As Kyle started to protest, Sophie thrust open the door. Kyle's mom, Cindy, was watching a show on the TV, and her face brightened once the duo came through the threshold.
They expressed greetings as Kyle led Sophie to the couch were they sat.
Cindy cleared her throat. "I'm glad I get to meet you under 'better' circumstances."
The couple blushed. "Yeah," Sophie cleared her throat. "This is much more preferable."
Cindy nodded. "But it is nice to meet you. Now it's time for the baby pictures!"
She left to get up to grab the scrapbook, while Kyle groaned, complained, and hid his face. All the while Sophie smiled to herself, she never had a need to worry.

Kyle shifted under his leather jacket as he waited for Sophie to emerge from her bedroom. He made small talk with her parents and played a bit with Tenn while he waited. He wore a navy blue shirt under the leather jacket, as well as khaki pants and sneakers. They were simply going to see a movie. Pixar had just come out with a new animated adventure and both teens had talked about wanting to see it, so naturally, they decided to go together. Although they had already been dating for some time now, Kyle still worried that Sophie wouldn't like what he was wearing, or that he was overdressed. His leg had begun bouncing as he waited, but soon Sophie arrived. His jaw nearly hit the floor as she came out wearing a light blue dress down to mid thigh, white fishnet stockings, and black boots. Her hair was curled and a beautiful smile was adorning her face. Kyle immediately hopped to his feet and approached his girlfriend. Both teens simultaneously said, "hey" at each other whilst also blushing simultaneously.
"You look gorgeous," Kyle exclaimed.
Sophie beamed.
"You look handsome," she replied.
Soon the couple gathered their things and left. Kyle had borrowed Cindy's car and the two began to set out for the movie. They had told Sophie's parents that they were going to the theatre closest to them, but in actuality the teens had mutually decided to go to the theatre across town to avoid Minerva interfering on their date. During the ride, the teens didn't talk much. Kyle handed Sophie the auxiliary chord and they jammed out to Sophie's playlist. They couldn't stop sneaking glances at each other during the way there, lightly disregarding the rules of the road. For once, Sophie mused, everything should be perfect. And to her surprise, she was right. The two arrived in time for the showing. They got some snacks and settled down in their seats. The movie had been out for a week now, and they found they were two of only six or seven people in a theatre fit for 70-80. They were far enough away from the other patrons to talk freely and joke during the previews without distributing anyone. Before the movie showed, they shared a kiss which melted her insides.
If this was a dream, Sophie didn't want to wake up.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
