A Note from the Author:

Please read before continuing to the first chapter. If you choose not to read this author's note and then are unhappy with the contents or direction of the story, you will have only yourself to blame. Allow me to explain:

This is not a light and fluffy happily ever after Waige story. It's not even an angsty and dramatic happily-ever-after Waige story. (I love me a Waige happily ever after story. In fact, I have written a number of them that you may enjoy if that is what you are looking for.)

But it is a Waige love story, a bittersweet story of how easily chances can be missed, how different choices lead to a completely different life, and that some loves are fated to find each other, even if it seems to violate the laws of physics.

It is the story of two alternate universes, not completely unlike our own. These universes are different in small but key ways. One in which Walter lives a long and lonely life never finding Paige though he dreams of her every night. It is also the story of a brief and brightly burning love between another universe's Walter and a Paige who has made different choices from the one we know in "our" universe.

Both universes are inexplicably connected, and because of this Walter learns he can find his once-in-a-lifetime love, even across dimensions of reality.

I hope my words have piqued your curiosity and convinced you to keep reading. But, before you continue to the first chapter, you should also know that the love story of Paige and Walter does not end with a happily ever after. In this story, both Walter and his alternate universe alter ego die and his/their soulmate, Paige, dies as well.

If this premise is too upsetting or not the kind of Waige fanfic you are looking for, you have been duly warned, TURN BACK NOW.

If you are willing to see where this adventure takes our favorite Scorpion couple, join me, I'll be your guide, thrilled to have you along for the ride… in any universe.

***For LouBe96, without whose encouragement and continued support this flight of imagination never would have been possible.***

Author's Note:

The fact that anyone reads my stories at all amazes me. And then when readers take the time to leave reviews and comments, I am humbled and amazed all over again. I want you to know that I read and treasure every single review. FFN makes me sad because the only 'official' way to reply to a review is to PM the reviewer and that feels kind of weird to take a public comment directly to a private message. I know that many writers put answers to their reviewers in the next chapter or next story. I have mixed feelings about that. So what I have chosen to do is to leave a guest review as 'Masikka' addressed to each comment/commenter. If you leave me a comment, I will do my best to reply promptly. If you are ever so inclined, also feel free to PM me and I will answer that as well. Thank you once again for reading, enjoying, and commenting on these stories. You are my Cyclone!
