Chapter 13

AN: Hey guys I'm back with another chapter. This just wraps up things from the last chapter with Bisque. I intended to make it longer originally but due to being short on time and not knowing when exactly will I be able to write again I made this chapter a bit shorter.

Response:

Monster King: Thanks man, I'm trying.

Gwynx: Thank you very much.

Dantalien: I didn't kill her because I have an idea for her later and it's going to be a killing fanfic, it already is.

SolSparda: Never played Final Fantasy, sorry. Qrow does trust Summer but he is protective of her even if he knows that she is capable.

Benedict616z: How about losing an eye? I'm not going to kill him just yet, I got something planned for him.

"GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" Summer whisper-shouted. "I don't want to become a pick-me girl! I'm not that kinda of person," She had thought about many scenarios that might play out during her career as a huntress but never in her wildest dreams did she think that something like this would happen. Being stuck in a bathroom with a wanted felon waiting for her on the other side of the door was not on her bucket list.

"Relax Sum," Qrow said trying to reassure his partner. "Just tell us where you are and we will swoop in and get you out."

"Tell you where I am? I don't know….the top floor...I think," Summer said uncertainly while looking around before remembering where she was.

"You think?" Qrow asked. This whole mission was starting to get on his nerves. This was supposed to be their first grand mission so to speak. Team STRQ had a good reputation at Beacon but they were still seen as rookies by the more senior hunters even by those they knew. When Professor Ozpin offered them the spot on this joint mission, Summer and he eagerly took it, while Taiyang and Raven weren't able due to new family circumstances. Summer was all too eager to pull their team all the way to the big leagues as she called it and Qrow was there to support her all the way.

"Hey! It's not like it's you who is stuck in the same place with a guy who thinks that he and you are about to BANG!" Summer said irritated.

"Alright, alright. We need more than just the top floor, which room are you in exactly? Did you see anything that can help us?" Qrow responded, worried for his partner.

"I don't know, I think I saw a large neon sign with an SDC logo on it," Summer said. Qrow and Hanzo quickly looked around and found the sign on one of the neighboring buildings.

"That's it," Qrow said. "We are on the right side."

"We just need you to tell us something more, anything that can help us pinpoint you," Hanzo said.

Summer took a moment to think before it hit her. "We entered the second to last door on the left."

"Second to last room on the left side," Qrow said, feeling slightly better now that they knew where Summer was. "Got it. Let's go."

Hanzo calmly lifted himself from his crouch. "We need to look at this from an inverted perspective, her left would be our right, which means we will find your partner and our target up there," Hanzo said, pointing at the second to last room on the right. Qrow thought about it for a second before concluding that the ninja was right.

"Fine. Let's not waste any more time," Qrow said, eyeing the yellow-clad warrior with expectation. Hanzo barely spared the young man a second glance before he used his power to engulf them both in flames and teleport them into the hotel room.

Bisque was sitting in one of the chairs, silently sipping on his drink while he waited for his next conquest to join him. She was sure taking her sweat time but if Bisque learned anything over the years, the best things are worth the wait. Suddenly, to the tech dealer's shock, a pillar of pure fire appeared in the middle of the room. Bisque could do nothing but stare dumbly at the sudden phenomena. Then the pillar subsided and in its place appeared two men, each armed, and from the looks that they were giving him, they sure as hell weren't friendly.

"What the..." Bisque started to say but was cut off when the one in yellow charged at him, grabbed him by the throat, and pinned him to the wall. Bisque let out a grunt, he could feel the tight grip this stranger held over his neck but that didn't mean that he would be taken that easily. You don't become the top black market tech dealer in a short time without being smart. For situations just like this one, Bisque had put something special inside his prosthetic arm. Mechashift weapons were famous all around Remnant, how about a mechashift arm? Closing three of his singers and extending one, he activated the mechanism inside the arm, the hand soon being replaced by the barrel of a gun. Bisque attempted to raise his weapon towards his assailant's head, only to find himself being thrown across the room and into a wall. Bisque hit the wall with a grunt, he was really starting to regret not unlocking his aura by now, that would have been helpful now. He tried to pull himself up and fight these intruders but was once again pinned against a wall. The yellow-clad attacker had his right hand around Bisque's neck while he used his left to grip the metallic prosthetic and with the use of some fire-oriented power melt it from the elbow down. The black market merchant could do nothing but stare in pure shock as his hand melted away. Soon enough, confusion and shock gave way to fear. Bisque's eyes met those of his assailant, he could see the fury burning in them.

"W-Who are you? Did the Parrot send you? Name your price and it's yours?" the tech merchant said as fast as his mouth could allow him. He didn't know who these guys were and right now that was not on the top list of priorities, he only wanted to prevent his demise by any means necessary, "How much? Whatever you were paid I will doubt it, just don't kill me."

"Relax metal head, we won't kill you," Qrow said as he got nearer. "First things first, where's the girl?"

Just as the young huntsman asked the question, the doors of the restroom opened and Summer walked out. A look of relief crossed her face.

"You two sure love to keep a girl waiting," Summer said, crossing her arms and looking at the two fellow huntsmen.

"You alright Summer?" Qrow asked.

"Peachy, although I rather not think what could have happened if you didn't show up on time," Summer said, staring at her partner. A small, cute frown appeared on her face.

"The guy doesn't have an aura, you could have just knocked him out," Qrow pointed out. That was not something that Summer in her panic had thought about. She had just assumed that the guy had his aura unlocked and that she would have to keep up the ruse until her reinforcements arrived.

"Hey! I didn't know that, I thought that I might need to fight the guy, and who knows what could have happened then," Summer said, defending herself.

"Enough chatter," Hanzo said in a stern tone, the two hunters immediately turning their attention to the senior warrior. Hanzo met the young woman's gaze before returning it to his target. "We have a mission to finish."

"Right," Qrow said nodding.

"Now you will tell us where your operation is or else," Summer said, walking over to Hanzo, a serious expression on her face. The three hunters now looking at the arms merchant expectedly.

"You are not here to kill me?" the tech dealer asked baffled.

"Luckily for you no," Qrow said. Bisque eyed the three individuals wearily until a realization dawned on him. He could not help but let out a chuckle.

"Whats so funny pal?" Qrow asked, raising an eyebrow.

"What operation?" the man asked, a smirk forming on his lips.

"You know damn well what operation we are talking about pal. So you better talk or there might be consequences," Qrow said. Bisque continued to smirk until he felt Hanzos grip tightening around his neck. The arms dealer stared down the ninja.

"We know all about you Bisque, the only thing we need is the location of your operation. Give us that and we will say you corroborated," Summer said in a serious tone.

"If you were here to kill me, you would have done it by now. And if you are not here to do that then it's not the Parrot who sent you. So in that case you guys are huntsmen and judging by your accents you are from Vale. My guess is that you are here to shut down my little business but there is no way in hell that I'm telling you where it is. You can throw me to the cops but my assets will be safe," Bisque said, his smirk returning. The man's confident demeanor reminded Hanzo of a certain black market arms dealer from Earth, one with cybernetic enhancements and a love of knives. Bisque might not be Kano but he was close enough.

"Listen here," Qrow started to say but did not finish as suddenly Hanzo pulled Bisque across the room and threw him into the nearby window, shattering it. The two young hunters could do little but stare in shock as the arms dealer flew through the window and out towards the city streets. Bisque barely managed to close his eyes before his face hit the glass, pieces of the window embedding themselves into the man's face due to the force of the impact. Just as he was about to start plummeting to his death below, Hanzo grabbed Bisque by the ankle, the arms merchant dangling in the air, high above the city street. Bisque opened one unhurt eye only to be greeted by the sight of being twenty stories up and looking down. His scroll slipped out of his pants pocket and Bisque watched it fall and shatter on the ground below. He could barely concentrate due to shock and the sharp pain coming from his injured eye.

"Where is your base? My arms getting tired," Hanzo said in a cold voice. Bisque could do little but hopelessly stare at the concrete streets below.

"Liang! Stop!" Summer shouted, not approving of her teammate's action. They were huntsmen, not common thugs. She took several steps toward the ninja. Hanzo quickly turned his gaze towards her, the cold look on his face made her stop dead in her tracks. Qrow wanted to side with Summer but before he could the grandmaster's gaze fell on him and something in his mind told him to remain quiet.

"You are still far too green," Hanzo told the two young would-be heroes. "In circumstances like these, harsher methods of interrogation are required."

Hanzo ever so slightly loosened the grip he held over Bisque's leg, this made the arms dealer panic even more. "Waitwaitwait! I will tell you everything! I will tell you everything I know! Just don't kill me! Don't kill me please!" the man begged. This guy who held Bisque's life in his hand was no normal huntsman, he was a killer, and the black market dealer was now certain without a shadow of a doubt that if he didn't cooperate he would end up as a red stain on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Hanzos gaze once again fell on the cyborg.

"Talk," the grandmaster simply said, his tone remaining the same. It sent a shiver down Bisque's spine. And so Mistrals new top illegal tech and arms dealer spilled everything, from the location of his operation to the details of the operations the Spider had going on in the city, those that he knew about at least. He also mentioned a thing about a planned attack on some of the Parrot's warehouses that the Spider wanted to cease.

"…and they got about hundred gang members organized in about dozen smaller groups attacking dust shipments along the roads. That's everything I know I swear!" Bisque said, praying to any god that would listen that this maniac wouldn't simply let him fall to his death as soon as he was done talking.

"Everything?" Hanzo asked in a threatening tone, promising certain death if the tech dealer left something out. The grandmaster wanted to make sure he had all the information.

Embarrassment now mixed with fear as Bisque continued to speak. "I wet my pants until I was fourteen," Hanzo hummed, there was nothing more to be gained from this. "You are going to spare me, right?" Hanzo was honestly contemplating simply letting the man fall to his death, men like him rarely change if the ones Hanzo met are anything to go by.

"Liang, we have what we came for, there is no need for this anymore, let him go, inside I mean, don't let him fall," Summer said, trying to reason with her fellow teammate. She knew that Liang was a skilled fighter and that he had a serious if a bit cold nature to him but she didn't think that he was this cold-blooded, this whole scene looked like something from a movie. "What I mean there is no need for more unnecessary violence. We know where he is operating from, let's just leave him with the police and finish the mission we were assigned to."

"I highly doubt that this city's police can be trusted considering the strength of the criminal element inhabiting it. If we are to bring an end to the illegal technology and arms distribution inside the city, we would need to act fast. We would also need to make sure the Spider and the rest aren't made aware of our efforts to thwart them," Hanzo said and as much as the two hunters didn't want to admit it, the guy had a point. They didn't know who they could trust inside the Mistral P.D. and as soon as the news of his arrest reached his employers things could become much harder for them.

"Any bright ideas wise master?" Qrow said with a sarcastic undertone.

"As it is your idea to spare this criminal, you will remain here and watch him, you will also inform Jiro and Miss Ciara of our findings. The three of us will rendezvous on that location and finish the mission," Hanzo explained his plan, short and quick.

"Why two of us, ain't one enough to watch a guy with one arm," Qrow protested.

"Uh guys, I think all of his blood went to his head and he is fainting," Summer said pointing at the criminal dangling over the city streets, a worried look crossing her features. Hanzo looked at the man he was holding and true to what Summer had said, the man had fainted. Hanzo cared little so he simply threw the arms dealer back inside the room.

"As I said, it was you who pleaded for his life. You will guard him until the rest of us finish the mission," Hanzo said, his voice authoritative. As irritating as it was to repeat himself, this did remind Hanzo of his days of teaching the initiates of the Shirai Ryu, they too could be stubborn and prone to not listening well.

"In other words, let the rookies of the team babysit while the more experienced guys finish the task and get all the recognition," Qrow said, narrowing his eyes as he stared down the grandmaster. Hanzo's stare not only matched but excited that of the young hunter. "We can handle ourselves you know."

"This is not about recognition, victory, or glory. I have met other huntsmen who chose their path only because of those things. If that is the reason you chose to become one of this realm's protectors then I find your motivation lacking," Hanzo said, his voice stern yet hiding a burning fire inside it. "I'm not your master or your leader, if you wish to go then go, but remember that the consequences will be yours to shoulder. If he is left with one of you guarding him me may escape or he may not, it's better to be certain than to speculate."

"He didn't mean it that way..." Summer approached, trying to lower the tension.

"You are young and eager to prove your worth, I understand that, but remember to not let eagerness cloud your judgment. Tonight you, Summer Rose, brought yourself into a situation you by your own admission weren't prepared for, and if not for our timely arrival who knows what could have happened. Many warriors who held great potential met their ends due to rushing into battle blind," Hanzo explained, his fiery gaze fixated on the silver-eyed huntress. He had made this point before but it seems huntsmen need to hear it more than once for it to get through them. Summer knew that the older warrior had a point, but she also understood what Qrow wanted for she wanted the same thing. She left like a child being chastised by a parent, a rather strict and dangerous parent. "The choice is yours."

Summer stared at the yellow-clad man before turning her gaze to Qrow and then to the downed arms dealer. She sighed and returned her gaze to Hanzo. "We will stay to watch him, we will make sure he stays put and out of harm's way."

The grandmaster looked at the dark-haired huntsman, no objections came from him, only a dissatisfied grunt. The grandmaster did not truly hold their naivety and optimism against them, those are just part of youth. He might sound harsh but it was for their own good, he had learned just how harsh the universe truly is. Even with Grimm and the less-than-savory members of humanity, the people of this realm still possessed great hope but hope must be tempered with realism. Hanzo had fought gods and monsters, he knew that anything no matter how weak or innocent it might look could pose a danger to those not expecting it. He was simply trying to teach these young hunters a lesson. Hanzos stern demeanor softened slightly. "Good, call the others, we will rendezvous at the location."

"Understood," Summer said, proceeding to immediately do as told as she watched Hanzo take his leave, a fiery tornado appearing out of nowhere and taking the yellow-clad warrior away. Summer was taken aback by the sight, which was certainly a neat-looking semblance. "That's so awesome."

"Try being on the inside," Qrow said. Summer looked at her partner, he had his arms crossed and sported a slight frown on his face. "Why couldn't he stay and watch this douchebag, it's us that did most of the work anyway, shouldn't we get to finish the mission. That's how it usually goes."

"I know Qrow but he has a point, we may have got a bit too carried away by our recent successes. Not to mention that we have three senior huntsmen with us, so they technically do outrank us," she walked over to him and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "This will be all over soon and we will go back to Patch, once there we can tell everything that happened here to Tay and Raven."

Qrow let out a sigh. "I guess you are right team leader."

Hanzo stood hidden in an alley, monitoring the main entrance to Bisque's tech and arms reconstruction and dealing operation. From the outside, it seemed like a common store that sold scrolls and other such gadgets, but the truth was much different. The store was a front for the illegal business. If Bisque's words were true then the entrance to the underground operation was in the back of the store. The tech dealer said that he had about a dozen technicians working on the products and about two dozen guards with them placed all over the facility.

Hanzo heard footsteps approaching him from behind but concluded that the people approaching him posed no threat as he knew who they were.

"So this is it? Honestly, I expected more but then again we are dealing with tech geeks," Jiro said as he took a spot next to Hanzo.

"Heavily armed tech geeks if what Bisque told you was true," Ciara added as she looked at Hanzo. The grandmaster turned his attention to the two new arrivals.

"Bisque spoke about a new shipment he received from Atlas. His experts should be in the middle of going through it," Hanzo spoke.

"Which means that the techies will be busy," Jiro said.

"And that the security will be on high alert due to the shipment," Ciara added. "So, do we have a plan of action? This night has been a bit too rushed for my liking."

"I will disable the outer surveillance, when the guards are sent to see what's wrong, the two of you will deal with them. Once that is resolved we will move in and clean the facility room by room. The guards are the biggest issue, once they are dealt with, we take care of any additional resistance and arrest the none combatants," Hanzo explained.

"What about the Atlassian technology? I think they would want it back," Ciara said, looking at Hanzo for an answer.

"If we are able, we will make sure that the Atlassians regain their stolen property," Hanzo answered, Ciara gave him a satisfied nod. Jiro gave a disinterested shrug, he didn't really care much about the toys of the Atlassian military or their snobby officers. "Let's begin."
