It was a hard decision to make, after all, I didn't really like any of these shows to be honest. But my dumbass past self choseSouth Park Parents, a show that I've never heard of back then. But I suggested it anyway because I wanted to expand my taste in cartoons. Not to mention, that my friend wouldn't stop talking about it.
The latest episode of the show was called "The Funeral" I was skeptical about it, since an episode titled that would be really dark and disturbing. But without noticing, the teacher clicked on it anyway.
What I saw, scared me as normal.
The episode began with Betsey sitting on the couch, she seemed to be really upset about something as a tear was flowing down her face. She then started to sob loudly. Since nobody (except for Roger) was home, she could cry as loud as she wanted. The crying scene went for quite a few minutes (in which was 2 minutes long), before it cut to another scene.
The next scene showed what appeared to be Rex's funeral, when it was in a church with lots of candles around the coffin. The audio wasn't very good, so you couldn't hear what any of the characters were saying. A depressing piece of violin background music faintly played in the background. Whenever a character mouthed words, you could hear the sound of dogs whimpering. This made me feel a little sad on the inside, but I was interested in what was going to happen next so I kept watching.
The next scene showed Betsey crying again, but this time the crying was replaced with chinchillas yelping in pain accompanied with human coughing in the background. The screen started to get a little fuzzy as the yelping got louder and the sound of a woman screaming could be heard in reverse.
The next scene showed Roger, Perry and Clyde in the car, Roger seemed to be furious with Perry about something as he was doing whatever he could to avoid her. Clyde was scared and sad, but most of all, hungry. Clyde was looking out the window with a sad expression on his face, he was also scared too as he was shivering.
I was confused at what I was watching, but I continued.
Laura and Thomas were in a cemetery, mourning the loss of Rex. The two parents then started to sob, but it sounded cartoony this time. What was written on the grave however, shocked me.
R.I.P Rex 1997-2020
You will be missed.
Clyde will have to pay his respects.
Roger then stormed into the house while Clyde walked with in a terrified expression on his face. Roger walked into his bedroom and slammed his face into his pillow while Perry walked up to Betsey.
"Why with this, Clyde?"
Clyde didn't respond. He just sat there, sulking.
The scene's quality got all blurry, it got as bad as 144P which is slightly unimpressive for the time it was released.
It then cut to another scene. This time it was a flashback. Clyde was chasing Rex around the playground in a playful manner, They were playing tips like children usually would. Rex saw something sharp, it was a piece of broken glass that he started to play with. Then, Clyde got an idea. He thought he could play tips with the broken glass. His idea started, she started to chase Rex like it previously was. Suddenly, he slit Rex's throat with a shard of glass in his hand. The flashback then ended.
It then cut back to the Donovan residence, where Betsey was laying in a bathtub filled with water, drowned. There was drool dripping from her mouth and her body had bubbles all over it.
It then cut back to Roger, who was left outside. He had lost his glasses and some of his hair were gone.
It then back to Clyde, who was laying there on the side of the street, terrified of what's going to happen to him. He was malnourished, dehydrated, and you could see his bones popping out of his body. It then cut to black.
Unfortunately, the projection screen burned out before any of the tweens could watch something on the screen. It's for the better, though. I wouldn't under any circumstance show a tween what I just witnessed.
The teacher told me to have a break from the library and take a walk outside, I did and that helped a lot. It made me think about happy thoughts, like puppies for example.
The teacher knew that the episode terrified me, I could tell.
