Transformers: Internment or Freedom
Chapter One: Destiny's Nature
It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves…
Earth
Was it always meant to be this way? The war, the hate and the pain? The suffering and the death? It was inevitable wasn't it? No one knew to stop Megatron from killing Sentinel Prime publicly in cold blood.
No one knew he'd declare a police state over Cybertron, if it wasn't meant to be someone would've stopped him. Right? The war was their ugly truth, their destiny, and their true nature.
These were the things Optimus Prime pondered as he watched Jazz and Iornhide gather the rest of the team in the war room of The Ark. His mind wavered from the conversation.
Only moments before they were alerted by an inside source aboard the Nemesis that the city of New York was to be attacked soon. The message had been encrypted and the voice in it altered so the Autobots or Decepticons would never know who sent the warning.
Sideswipe was already at the helm of the ship, flaring up the engines only waiting on Prime's orders. He watched Prime's optics and attention waver away from Jazz and Ironhide, like he was the only one who noticed.
"Sir, are you okay?" Sideswipe asked, giving Optimus a sympathetic stare. The Prime shook his head then sighed.
"I am a little uneasy," Optimus confessed, "I've been wondering many things my young friend."
Sideswipe nodded and when Jazz gave him the thumbs up he fired up the engines and set the Ark to travel away to Manhattan.
During the voyage the Autobots were quiet, not even the sound of their mechanical feet clanging against the cold metallic floor even echoed a fraction of a bit throughout the ship.
Yet away from the rest, a yellow mech. No larger than his twin Sideswipe, made his way down to the energon fuel line within the engine room. He sighed a quiet sigh.
Making sure no one was there, or knew where he was he activated a small purple device. A small hologram of Starscream appeared then came to life. Sunstreaker with a somewhat fearful inflection groaned as Starscream asked him what the hell he wanted.
"Sir, the Autobots are at least somewhat privi to the attack on Manhattan, as far as they know this will be isolated," Sunstreaker whispered, "Someone on your ship ratted the plan out."
*The Ark will arrive too late,* Starscream said, *Contact me again only when the ship is destroyed.*
Sunstreaker nodded and put his communicator away in a hidden compartment in his leg, he stood up and gasped. Now he was face to face with the security officer on board the Ark.
Clampdown, a white and black Autobot Elite Guardsmen that had a similar frame to Sunstreaker's brother. The Autobot held a gun to Sunstreaker's chest with a snarling grimace.
"Who were you communicating with?" Clampdown asked.
Only a sheepish chuckled erupted from Sunstreaker's metal lips. If he could blush he'd be bright red. He put his palm on the barrel of Clampdown's blaster and lowered it to the ground and shook his head.
He walked around the Autobot and avoided looking into Clampdown's piercing blue optics as he glared at the obvious traitor. Sunstreaker chuckled and leaned against the pipeline and turned around with his arms crossed over his chest and a smirk on his face.
"Would you believe me if I told you it was Ultra Magnus," Sunstreaker asked.
"Why would you contact Ultra Magnus on a personal comms device in the privacy of the energon store room and engine deck?" Clampdown sarcastically inquired.
"Obviously he's my Conjunx Endura," Sunstreaker chuckled walking up to Clampdown, hiding a small blaster in the palm of his hand. He wrapped that arm around Clampdown's shoulder pointing the gun at his head.
Suddenly in a flash of blue light, energon splattered all over Sunstreaker's face and Clampdown's body collapsed to the floor with smoke billowing from the fresh wound in his head. His eyes and mouth open in an endless scream of shock and terror.
Sunstreaker quickly ran over to the decontamination chamber that the crew were meant to use if the ship's energon reserves became toxic, he washed Clampdown's blood off and then came back out and propped Clampdown up and positioned his blaster in his hand like a suicide.
He then pulled a second device out of his leg compartment and placed it on the pipeline, he pressed a couple of buttons and then took his blade and sliced the pipeline, energon leaked slowly onto the floor.
They were now going slower, they reached Manhattan. There wasn't enough energon in the pipe to fuel the engine.
He walked backwards to the door and opened it, the light shone into the room revealing his devious deed in full. The energon slowly poured over the floor and drenched over Clampdown's corpse.
This would end soon. The slaughter was just beginning. The end was near and their fate was sealed.
He clapped his hands and laughed to himself. Then he left the engine room. The door slammed behind him, making dark the dimly lit room. Now the body would only be seen with the lights on.
Down the hall and up a few floors Sunstreaker rejoined the other Autobots and grabbed his assault rifle from the table. He looked out of the window on the bridge and pretended to be horrified by the sight of the burning buildings and rubble.
He looked over at Hot Shot, Arcee and Cliffjumper. The three idiots fraternizing with these filthy humans the Autobot's swore to protect. He tried not to throw up at the sight of them.
Well if he was nasty and organic he would throw up, thank Primus for being a metallic life form. How could anyone not despise those creatures? They were so weird looking.
"Hey, where's Clampdown?" Hot Shot asked, Sunstreaker snapped out of his tranz of imagining humans being slaughtered.
"Dunno," Sunstreaker shrugged, "He usually stays on the ship anyways so who cares?"
"Sideswipe, stay on board with Clampdown," Optimus Prime's voice boomed, "Everyone else, we will fend off and try to rescue as many humans as we can."
Sunstreaker nodded as the other Autobots walked off onto the boarding schute to descend into the city. He watched as his 'comrades' transformed into their vehicle modes so he did the same.
He was nearly blinded by the bright light when the schute opened and they raced into the city as the gunfire and screams were at their loudest. He transformed into robot mode and pulled his blaster off of his back and ran off into the fray.
"Where's that asshole heading off to now?" Cliffjumper shouted, transforming into robot mode to begin firing at the Decepticon jets flying overhead.
There seemed to be many more Cons on Earth than there were a year ago when they found the Wayfinder. Back then there were a total of about fifteen.
Now, there were so many Seekers in the sky that Cliffjumper had a hard time counting them all. He saw the Rainmakers, who he had believed were on Nebulous with Shockwave.
He looked down at the ground force, about a legion's worth of identical Decepticons all aimed their weapons at the Autobots. All of them resembled Shadelock, but with a featureless face and visor. All of them had a cannon for their left arm and a secondary blaster in their right hand.
Cliffjumper looked up and over at Optimus Prime who was in awe at the scene. It looked like Cybertron.
"Vehicon Troopers," Optimus muttered, "Shockwave's on Earth."
Nebulous
There is a saying, that freedom was the oxygen of the soul. It was a saying that could not hope to describe why this could happen to a people, to a world.
As the smoke began to clear the mighty Autobot warship, They Voyager came down for a landing on the once organic world. In the skies above fighters and dropships flew down to the surface from the space around the planet.
It took several cycles to break through the planetary blockade of Shockwave's mighty space fleet. The only Autobot ship to breakthrough was that of Ultra Magnus. Now coming down for their landing only to realize they were too late to save this world.
From a small red dropship Bumblebee and his team emerged. He jumped down just before it touched down. His feet clanged against the metallic crust with a cloud of red dust erupting from underneath.
The last remnants of Nebulous's once red and rocky surface.
Bumblebee stood up and looked at the drop ship as his 'Throttlebots' exited its cargo bay. He then turned to the Voyager and tapped his commlink and sighed.
"Blaster, we've got another dud," Bumblebee said solemnly, "Shockwave's finished draining this planet of life."
*It looks like it was Cyberformed,* Blaster's voice called out from Bee's com. The small yellow Autobot nodded then turned to Searchlight who was crouched on the ground inspecting the metal soil.
"It is," Searchlight said, "There's no sign of rock, organic life or carbon in this ground sample."
"You can tell all that from just looking at the ground?" Bumper, the newest Throttlebot asked, he raised his visor and gave a skeptical look.
Searchlight smiled at the rookie and nodded. His face then hardened and he walked up to Bumblebee and handed him the now metallic corpse of a Nebulon. Bumblebee took the small creature in his servos and studied it with his eyes.
He was stuck in a perpetual running stance, with a mouth hanging open in a life scaring scream for mercy. He looked like a miniature Cybertrionian. Any life these beings once had was gone, and even if something was alive here.
It would never be the same. Their fate tampered with. Their DNA turned to CNA, and their home altered so much that they would never recognize this as their home if they were to return to life.
"Perceptor, we're coming back aboard," Bumblebee sighed into his commlink, he waved to his team and they walked back onto the dropship, "Chase, take us back up."
Perceptor eyed his new mystery. Intent on solving it, by any and all means. By all accounts, anything that looked like this lifeform should be easy for him to study. But it was not Cybetronian or Colonist in nature.
By its own biology it should be a complete mystery to him. He lied a challenge, but one thing was not a mystery. He was not Cyberfromed correctly.
Perceptor looked up from the dissection table and turned his head and body around to face Ultra Magnus and Bumblebee. He turned his head at the cut up body on his table and sighed.
"I can only tell you one thing," Perceptor said, "That this Nebluon was killed by the Cyberformation process."
"How can you tell?" Ultra Magnus asked, he looked over Preceptor's shoulder to see the body.
Its metal skin was broken open and ripped off, it had metal bones and what looked like a small T-Cog. But everything else was pink, squishy and covered on thick red blood. Its heart was seemingly torn to shreds by the new metal ribcage and it spilled the alien's blood all throughout its body.
"Well, as you can see, it's still internally organic," Perceptor explained, he waved Be and Magnus over to inspect it with him which they did, "A true Cyber Formation would reconfigure an organism's entire genetic makeup from the smallest compnet."
"The Atomic Level?" Bumblebee asked.
"Indeed," Perceptor answered, "The very atomic structure of a carbon based or organic life form is so vastly different from ours that to alter it to become like ours you would have to completely rearrange the atoms themselves."
"So is this a failed experiment of Shockwave's?" Magnus asked.
Magnus and Bee stepped back as Perceptor stood up out of his chair. The Scientist extended a blade from his wrist and used it to brush the body into a bin where it was then lit a flame.
He turned to his commander's and leaned against his table with his hands grabbing its edges. He looked down and shook his head with a dumbfounded sigh.
"To Shockwave, the tampering with creation itself is success enough," Perceptor said, "Even if the subject perishes in the process. Look at the Dinobots, even his own men Astrotrain, Sixshot and Blitzwing. If he can break the genetic code of a lifeform he is content."
Ultra Magnus nodded and turned to Bee who only shook his head.
"Thank you Perceptor," Ultra Magnus finally said, he and Bee then walked out of the lab into the hallway.
"Do you think that this will be his last time tampering with organic life?" Bumblebee asked, "He hasn't turned an organic lifeform to a cybernetic one secuessfuly."
"He did successfully turn this planet into a metallic world though," Ultra Magnus added, "So frankly I do not know."
He stopped in his tracks and pressed a finger to the side of his head. Bumblebee stopped and gave his leader a curious stare which Ultra Magnus returned. He nodded as Air Raid spoke into his ear.
"The Terranace System?" Ultra Magnus asked, "Isn't that where Optimus Prime and Hot Rod stationed their team?"
*Yes sir, it looks like there's a massive amount of Decepticon ships heading towards the system,* Air Raid's voice rang in Magnus's ear, loud enough for Bumblebee to hear.
"Understood, tell Blaster to contact Star Saber on Cybertron," Ultra Magnus ordered, "I want as many ships headed that way as we can get."
Ultra Magnus then turned off his comm and started walking swiftly towards the bridge of the ship, Bumblebee following suit till they both broke out into a run.
"What is going on exactly?" Bumblebee asked.
"We have a confirmation from Springer at Garus Nine that Shockwave is headed to planet Earth," Ultra Magnus said, they came up on the bridge and he opened the door, "The prison is under attack by a subunit of Shockwave's fleet now."
"Who?" Bumblebee asked.
"Team Chaar," Ultra Magnus said, "Air Raid!"
The Airealbot turned around in his seat and nodded to the Autobot leader with a smirk.
"Coordinates already set, Saber is on the line with Blaster now," Air Raid said.
"Good, set course for Elba," Ultra Magnus said, "And jump to lightspeed as soon as you can."
Planet Elba
Gaurus Nine Detention Facility
Being pinned behind a wall with a thousand Decepticons intent on breaking that wall down on top of you and beating you to death with it was the average kind of mission for The Wreckers.
This is what they got themselves into when they all voted to guard the most secure prison in the galaxy. Sure they expected the occasional attempt at a breakout or a dangerous prisoner transfer.
But a full scale invasion of the planet with the sole intent on tearing the facility asunder? Rotorstorm didn't remember seeing that on the activities list or else he wouldn't have voted in favor of replacing the original guards in this dump.
So there he stood, behind the wall with Twintwist as blaster fire came down the hallway from several Decepticons. Rotorstorm didn't get a count of the heads before they hacked security, stormed the base and took it over freeing every Con in the joint.
On the ground next to them was Topspin, offlined and leaking dark pink energon from his chest, legs, head and neck. The poor dude never saw it coming.
His brother Twintwist still stood next to Rotorstorm with his blaster and his brother's blaster held close to his face, waiting for the Cons to ease the heat so he could get a shot in. There was little chance of that happening till these Decepticons ran out of ammo.
Almost like they were taunting the Autobots. Saying come here. Come here baby and fucking die!
"Rotorstorm to Springer," Rotorstorm shouted into his comlink, "We are a man down and the Cons are makin' they way up to the exit!"
*Hold them back the best you can, Hubcap and Strongarm are on they're way,* Springer said, *Hold on for a little while longer.*
Rotorstorm and Twintwist exchanged knowing glances. Strongarm and Hubcap wouldn't be able to salvage this situation. Not even the whole damn team could. They'd need freaking Omega Supreme.
So Twintwist and Rotorstorm jumped out into the hallway and started firing their blasters at the Decepticons. Twintwist was the first to fall. Having one Con give him a clean shot to the head.
Rotorstorm didn't think or care to mourn. He threw his weapon down and jumped into the crowd of Decepticons. Punching and kicking them down and using his arm mounted gatling guns to tear them apart.
But even the most talented and skilled warriors must fall, so as he was at his best in this battle a Decepticon known as Cyclonus ran up at him and ran him through the chest with his sword.
Rotorstorm spat engeron down to the ground and groaned as Cyclonus removed the blade from his chest, letting him fall to the ground. He watched as the Decepticons marched over him and the twins like they were just a part of the floor.
One Decepticon stopped. Brawl chuckled at the broken and bruised Autobot, and in a laugh filled execution placed the barrel of his cannon up to Rotorstorm's head and put the Wrecker out of his misery.
Out of his misery with his bran module and energon splattered everywhere and what was left of his head still attached to his neck, his face looked like it had been cut right in two at the jaw.
Brawl then picked up the body by the leg and dragged it down the hall to the next site of battle, then threw it at the Autobots.
"Take cover!" Roadbuster shouted, he and Strongarm ducked out of the way, but poor Hubcap didn't have a chance as the corpse toppled him over.
Hubcap wrestled the body off of himself with a loud grunt and a moan, he then picked his blaster up then stood up, looking the barrel of a rifle in the face.
Then bang!
Hubcap fell to the ground with his face bloodied with energon and on fire. His blaster hit the ground and went off, the bolt ricocheting around and then hitting Strongarm in the shoulder.
"Dammit!" She shouted, "We need better cover!"
She looked up at Roadbuster who gave her a nod and then stood up, firing the missiles from his shoulder mounted launcher then transforming into vehicle mode. He spun his large tires and with a screech he drove over the bodies of his fallen comrades and off down the hallway.
Strongarm kept firing at the cons, then set her blaster to detonate, chucked it then started running in Roadbuster's direction. She then finally transformed when away from the dead bodies so her tires could grip the ground.
As the two Wreckers raced to find cover the Decepticons kept advancing. So Strongarm drifted and converted into robot mode and crouched down, pulling a small blaster pistol from her leg and started firing when they reached Springer and the others.
Roadbuster transformed next to Springer and started firing at the Decepticons with all of his artillery.
"We make our stand here Autobots!" Springer shouted, he kept firing his blaster at the Decepticons, not focusing his aim. If you hit one that was enough for him.
Six Wreckers stood there at the entrance of the prison in total. Springer, Strongarm, Roadbuster, Leadfoot, Whirl, and Scorch. The six Autobots gave everything they had to stop the Decepticons from escaping.
But a good leader knows when to fallback, and when Roadbuster ran out of ammo then fell, he knew that was the time.
"Scorch, Strongarm, fall back get back to the Xantium, get Flak to fire up her engines," Springer ordered, "Whirl give them air support, Leadfoot the only way is getting past us is rolling over our corpses!"
He looked around at his men who all gave him a nod, he sighed then pulled his sword from his back and swung it around, slicing blaster bolts in half and deflecting the rest.
"Autobots transform and roll out!" Springer shouted. Scorch and Strongarm raced off towards their ship and Whirl took to the air following behind.
Springer and Leadfoot then ran for it, charging into the crowd. Leadfoot was yelling out like a cowboy firing his blasters with glee and cutting through the cons with his chainsaw.
Springer found Cyclonus and swung his sword at the Decepticon, the two warriors clashed blades and glared deeply into each other's optics. Cyclonus stepped back and kicked at Springer's leg.
The Autobot went down and blocked an incoming downstrike from Cyclonus's blade, he pushed Cyclonus off of him and slashed at his chest, slicing the Decepticon's insignia right in half.
The two then clashed blades again, the metal from their swords chipping off as the hits got harder and harder. Cyclonus easily pushed the Autobot back towards the door with only one hand.
Springer then to counter the Con's advance fired his blaster, knocking off Cyclonus's right horn and sending him backwards. Springer gripped his sword with both hands as the Decepticons surrounded him, then threw Leadfoot's now lifeless body at his feet.
"The only way any of you are leaving this planet is when I decide which junk planet to dump your bodies on!" Springer shouted, he slashed the nearest Decepticon in half vertically and then kicked a second in the face.
He transformed into helicopter mode and started firing missiles into the crowd. That was when a Decepticon threw a grenade into the air intake on his left side.
Springer transformed just as the grenade exploded, blowing his right arm off of his body and part of his chest as well. He tumbled to the ground and groaned. He got back up and tackled a Vehicon to the ground and headbutted it so hard he smashed its visor.
Brawl then kicked Springer off of the Vehicon, Springer crawled backwards, panting heavily. His vision faded in and out as he lost more and more energon.
"Don't make promises you cannot keep Autobot," Oil Slick chuckled, he then tossed a small vial at the Wrecker, it hit him in between the optics and shattered.
"Cos- Cosmic-c-c Ru- st," Springer gasped and stuttered as he faded out of consciousness and rusted over. Brawl then got to blast the corpse into little pieces with much pleasure.
Strongarm and Scorch reached the Xantium, but before they could board it imploded. Sending shrapnel and rubbled flying and knocking them off of their feet. One large piece of scrap metal sliced Scorch right in half.
Strongarm went down to the ground and took cover as Whirl transformed and landed next to her. He started firing his missiles at the incoming Decepticons.
"Primus fuck!" Whirl shouted, "Isn't this fun, you know in a terrifyingly exhilarating kinda way!"
"No it is not!" Strongarm said, joining in on the firefight. The entire time Whirl was cheering and shouting how many Decepticon's he gunned down. Ye haw and crap like that.
So when he suddenly stopped shouting, that was when Strongarm knew something was wrong. She looked over at where he stood and saw Strika standing over his now corpse, holding his head by the wiring.
"Damn," Strongarm muttered.
Only two options, keeping fighting till her last sparkbeat. Or surender. Wreckers don't surrender, even when the smoke is so thick you can't see your own servos. SO she jumped up into the air and then kicked Swindle down to the ground, he groaned under her feet as she used his gatling gun to tear the Decepticon's apart.
She dropped it then used her own blaster to fire on her adversaries. She kicked, punched, shot and clawed at the Decepticons till she ran out of ammo and had to hit them with her blaster.
Which she did, thought it did not work. Strika grabbed her by the head and threw her to the ground. Strongarm tried to get up, but two Seekers held her to the ground as Strika approached.
"Congratulations, you're the last Wrecker to die," Strika chuckled, then she shot Strongarm in the face killing her instantly.
The Decepticon General then looked up at the sky, their ship The Revenge hovered over the prison with its cannons ready to reduce it to rubble. If the fembot had a mouth she'd smile.
"Scourge, destroy the facility, then prepare to meet back up with the fleet we now have the manpower Shockwave wanted!" Strika ordered into her commlink.
She and her men watched as The Revenge fired all of its weapons on Gaurus Nine, the building crumbled into a large cloud of dust and smoke.
"Onslaught, send a dropship!" She ordered, she then watched as the Decepticons started going back towards the Revenge, she looked down at the dead Autobot at her feet, kicked the body then followed her troops.
Earth
You never really know that it's worth fighting for until you nearly lose it. When you're on the brink of losing your grasp on it and your reality. That's what Optimus had failed to realize until this very moment.
There were too many bodies, too many Decepticons and his men were being worn down to the bone.
He looked up to the largest billboard where Jazz was scaling it to get to Megatron. Optimus's optics widened and he gasped. He wrestled Hotlink and Vaportrail off of him, slamming the two seekers into the ground.
He started running for the building to get to Jazz, but he was cut off by the sound of helicopter blades whirring and the rumbling of two sports car engines. He covered his face to keep the blinding lights of Rumble and Frenzy in their vehicle modes out of his eyes.
The helicopter transformed and Soundwave kicked Prime in the face then ducked under him and stood up behind Optimus and aimed his blaster at the Autobot leader.
Optimus glared at the Decepticon and his two lackeys. They weren't going to let him get through. He watched as Hotlink and Vaportrail came back, with their null rays ready to fire on him.
All around him were Decepticons. He sighed.
"Autobots, it's time to retreat," He ordered into his comlink.
Up above on the roof of the tall McDonald's Jazz struggled to keep up with the ferocity of Megatron. He ducked under the tyrant's sword but when he came back up he was met with an elbow ramming into his face.
He stumbled backwards, caught by the arm by Megatron who smirked at him then sliced the arm off. Jazz tumbled several stories down to the ground and landed on top of an overturned bus with a loud thud.
Megatron jumped down on top of him, making the Autobot Second in Command yelp in pain. The Decepticon dug his blade deep into Jazz's back and twisted it around, enjoying each of the mech's pleas for mercy.
"Jazz!" Ironhide's voice called out, Megatron looked over to see him running to help his comrade.
With a roll of his optics Megatron raised his right arm and powered on his fusion cannon, and fired a deadly blast right through Ironhide's chest.
Back to over with Optimus, the Autobot leader found it easy to dispatch Frenzy and Rumble, the two were forced to retreat by Soundwave who tried gang piling on the Autobot with the two seekers.
Optimus pushed Hotlink off of him and basted him in the shoulder knocking him to the ground, he then rammed his head crest into Vaportrail's face pushing the orange and navy seeker back.
Now Prime's attention was on Soundwave and him alone. Soundwave threw the first punch which Prime blocked off with a parry and he rammed his fist into Soundwave's side. Soundwave then clasped his hands together and slammed them into Optimus's back and kicked the Autobot back.
He then spun around and rammed a second kick into Prime's chest, shattering the windows on Prime's chassis. He then punched Prime in the face again, breaking off half of his face plate.
Optimus then swung a right hook into Soundwave's head, he then tried headbut him, but Soundwave grabbed the Prime's head and pushed it to the side. Optimus stumbled around and as he tried to get his footing back Soundwave gave one last powerful strike to his face.
Unbeknownst to him or the other Decepticons, Wheeljack, Hot Shot, Hot Rod, Cliffjumper and Arcee grabbed their human companions and fled the scene by Optimus's orders. Hot Rod lingered for a moment, debating on whether he should go back in.
He could take Starscream and Skywarp, Prime could take Soundwave. He just needed back up, his optics met Prime's. Optimus nodded at him and gave a smile with a painful wince.
If a transformer would cry, Hot Rod would. He sighed and turned around. He transformed into vehicle mode and raced off into the western direction.
Optimus looked up to the sky as the Ark crashed into the ground and Thundercracker dragged an unconscious Sideswipe off of the ship in stasis cuffs. Thank Primus, Optimus thought to himself.
He then watched as Thundercracker placed Sideswipe in the Decepticon dropship then sat down beside the Autobot.
"Optimus Prime!" Megatron shouted, he dragged behind him Jazz. He was still alive, barely. The Decepticon threw Jazz at Optimus's feet and gleefully watched as the Prime sighed and surrendered.
There was no option, this was fate. No point in denying it anymore.
"You're glad we are taking prisoners, I want you and your friends to watch as this world burns," Megatron chuckled, "Soundwave make sure Iornhide and Jazz here stay online."
The Decepticon communicator nodded his head and picked up Jazz's limp and dying body and carried the Autobot to the dropship. Optmius watched as Starscream and Skywarp pushed him to the ground and cuffed him by the arms and legs.
This was the only inevitable outcome of war wasn't it? He wasn't sure that he could tamper with fate, muster an Autobot victory here. He pondered this as Starscream and Skywarp plucked him up and pushed him towards the dropship.
He watched as the city burned, and listened as the engines of the seekers flying above roared and rumbled. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine what this city was like only mere hours before.
Not a battlefield, not a graveyard. A city, with people. Men, women and children laughing and enjoying their lives. Now it was barren and void of that same energy and life.
Was this his fault, he brought the war to this planet. It was only a matter of time before it hurt the people who lived here. He tried not to listen as Megatron ordered the dropship to prepare for a second attack.
This one at the nation's capitol.
Optimus was sat beside Sideswipe, he sighed and closed his eyes once more. Hung his head low, he could feel his failure in this room. As the EKGs beeped, keeping Iornhide and Jazz alive.
If only so they could watch the carnage, and so they could blame their leader. Blame him for being so weak.
With all of that said, the dropship rose to the air, leaving the Big Apple behind, off to D.C. to enact the same evil on a different group of people.
