Chapter Two

Andy was about to call out for someone to help her but before she could her eyes rolled back, and she began to fall.

Vic was looking around the room, thankful that everyone at the station was okay and when she looked at Andy, she was still worried about her head injury when she noticed Andy stumble for the second time tonight. When she saw Andy close her eyes, she started to walk over to her and started running when she saw her falling. "ANDY!" she called out. Sprinting and just being able to catch her.

Everyone turned to where Vic had caught Andy and went into paramedic mode. Jack grabbed a med kit, and Vic laid her down on her back, taking a sweater Maya handed her to put under her head to stabilize her neck and then ran out of the room with Carina, hoping to find an aid car still outside.

"What the fuck happened to her head?" Ben asked, having only seen Andy a couple of times in the last few hours.

Vic, Travis, and Jack all looked at each other.

Travis spoke up first. "Before the floor collapsed, she ran into the room, trying to warn everyone before it happened but obviously people still fell in. Andy was near the edge and was able to hang on. We noticed that she hit her head, but she insisted that she was okay." Travis looked down, realizing that they should have stopped Andy from running around and instead made her go to a hospital, but everyone knew how stubborn their new captain was.

Jack shook her head, not liking that he missed one of his closest friends working while she was injured. Jack put an oxygen mask over her mouth and nose while pushing away stray hairs on her face. He gently took off the bandage Andy had put on her head and was surprised that it was still bleeding. "Guys, we need to get her to a hospital and get stitches for this cut. It looks like it hasn't stopped bleeding."

It was then that Maya ran into the room, followed by Carina and a couple of random aid car workers that none of them had seen before.

The aid car workers worked on getting a backboard under Andy along with help from Jack and Vic and then loaded her onto the stretcher and ran alongside her to the aid car. Jack and Vic looked at each other, trying to decide who would go with Andy. Vic gestured for Jack to go since the two had grown extremely close with Jack helping Andy after she had gotten attacked and had to deal with the trial and Andy had helped him try to connect with his biological family.

Jack jumped in the back and the aid car sped off, leaving Vic standing there, worry for her friend growing with each second that went by. She saw her struggling and just let it go. She wanted to smack herself. Vic hadn't realized how long she had been outside until Travis came outside and grabbed her hand. "Let's go to the hospital, Vic." Travis gently directed Vic to his car and drove off to the hospital.

"I noticed she wasn't doing great soon after we started helping the injured," Vic confessed quickly to Travis. "I should've gotten her to stop but she just kept going. I mean, what if this turns out to be something series?" Vic asked, tears in her eyes.

Travis took his eyes off the road when they were at a red light and saw that Vic had tears in her eyes and rested a hand on her thigh. "Vic, we all saw the cut on her head. We all let her work. You cannot blame yourself for this."

Vic looked at Travis, a tear falling down her cheek, but she nodded. "I know, this just sucks."

Travis smiled sadly at her and nodded. "It does. But I'm sure she'll be okay."

Shorter chapter but I wanted to post another one before I work on my other ones.
