Chapter 27

The deeper Inuyasha goes into the cave the darker it gets for him not to see what's in front of him. But being a dog hanyou has a few things that can't be beaten. The sense of hearing and smell are his key factors. He relaxes as he tried to find Kagome and Moroha's scents in the cave. Nothing yet. Using his ears to pinpoint their voices wasn't working either. So much for that. He turns on the flashlight on his phone to light the way around the cave.

The beam shines out in front of him to show the many stalagmites that are hanging on the ceiling. Knowing for sure that this cave is old, the stalagmites might be unstable to hold onto anymore as such Inuyasha has to be careful. Shouting would just bring them down like rain drops but with sharper ends that can impale someone unfortunately to get in the way.

The flashlight is being reflected to something from afar. 'What's that?' Inuyasha wonders as he runs quickly and quietly to see where the reflection was coming from. He comes to what appears to be a shiny surface of something. Feeling it chilly, like ice. 'But it's summer, there's no way that something so cold could be here.' He said to himself as he wipes the surface clean to realize it was something else entirely different. "It's a metal door?" He asks himself as he looks around the item for the doorknob to open it. He does find the knob however it has a keypad above it and it required a security code to open it.

Being an agent is one thing, but hacking through a keypad on a doorknob. It's what Inuyasha does best. He can tell which key was used in a particular order to open the door, but the scent of each number on the key pad is the big give away from it. Using his scent of smell, he was able to know the digits on which number is used in order. Thinking thoroughly, he pressed the numbers he believed to the code. "Password accepted." The voice from the pad spoke and then the door opens for him.

"Ok, that was too easy." Inuyasha said for sure. He enters to see that the other side of the door doesn't have a doorknob or a keypad. "I can't risk being trapped in here." He yanks a piece of the stalagmite and jams it into the gap between the door and the doorframe to make sure he doesn't get locked in.

He turns around to see that the cave has been lit up by the holes of the ceiling. 'Why would some cave have a door in the middle of nowhere that would have light coming in from the ceiling?' He asks himself. But thanks to the light, Inuyasha can see what's around him. He opens his phone and turns on an app. "Ok, let's see if you're here?" He taps the code of the item he believes that Kagome might have with her. Steady beeping shows Inuyasha in the middle of the screen and can see a dot next to him.

"So far the tracker is telling me that Kagome's here, but not in sight. Then maybe she's below me." Inuyasha states out the situation and looks to find a waterfall not far from him. He comes to it to see that the water isn't staying in the spot where the waterfall lands on. "No pool or puddle." He said as he places the flashlight underwater to see if there's a tunnel down there. "I'm not waiting any longer to find my daughter and mate." He pulls the sword out of his sheath. Once out, the rusty sword transforms into a blade made by his father. "Wind Scar." He shouts and blasts a hole into the water to make it easier for him to get done further in the cave.

Meanwhile Kagome is carrying Moroha who is asleep on her shoulder. 'I wonder where Inuyasha is?' She asks herself. Soon enough the cave begins to shake. "Oh, an earthquake?" Kagome gasps as she sees that some of the stalagmites have fallen from the ceiling and are about to strike her and Moroha. "Momma? What's going on?" Moroha asks tiredly. "Baby, the cave is shaking, and somehow the stalagmites are going to get us if we don't get out of here." Kagome calmly answers the question as she runs and dodges any of the stalagmites.

"Kagome!" Inuyasha's voice was heard in the distance. "Daddy!" Moroha shouts back as loud as she could. Kagome brightens the little flashlight to and aims it around the cave. "Where are you!?" She shouts out to him. Another beam of light appears. "Kagome! Moroha!" Inuyasha sees the beam of the flashlight and runs to his wife and daughter.

"Oh, Daddy." Moroha clings into his one arm while his other one wraps around Kagome's shoulder. "Are you two alright?" He asks them right away. He sees that there's some markings from both Kagome and Moroha's wrists. "What happened?"

Moroha looks up to him. "Mommy and I were tied up." She said to him. Kagome nods to confirm it. "But I was tied up by chains, while she was tied up by rope." Moroha shows the faint lines from the robe on her wrist. Kagome shows hers as well. "But something doesn't add up." She said to him.

"Like what, Momma?" Moroha asks her curiously. Inuyasha is as well. "When we came to, we found ourselves tied up. You were tied up by rope while I was in chains." Kagome starts off. "Kagome, do you remember where you and Moroha were tied up?" Inuyasha asks her in a calm way. Moroha jumps out of Inuyasha's arm and runs of in the direction where she and Kagome were tied up. It doesn't take long to find the discard chains and the cuffs.

"I was in chains, and I was bounded to a big stalagmite from the ground." Kagome explains how she was tied up. "How did you get out?" Inuyasha asks her. "I had to kick the chains apart to free her." Moroha said proudly. Inuyasha didn't see that coming. "You kicked the chains? Were you tied up by the rope when you were doing it?" Inuyasha asks her in utter disbelief. Moroha nods.

"Her hands were tied behind her back, and she had to use her feet." Kagome explains to him. Inuyasha takes Kagome's flashlight and aims it around the area. He sees the discard rope nearby. He kneels down and is about to touch. "This is no ordinary rope." He pulls his hand back. Kagome and Moroha come up to him.

"What's wrong with it?" Moroha asks him. "I've seen this kind of rope before. It's meant to weaken demons whenever it ties the creature up." Kagome didn't know that. "But why Moroha? We know she's a quarter demon."

"Exactly. The rope is meant to weaken Moroha's demon. And I think I know why rope was used on her and not chains." Inuyasha stands back up. "Moroha, you still have your bracelet on right?" He turns to Moroha. Moroha raises her arm with the bracelet on. "Right here, Daddy." She spoke seriously.

"The chains would've been too much for her, because her wrists were too small to fit in the cuffs, that's why rope was the only option." Kagome adds in the obvious detail.

"Daddy, can we get out of here?" Moroha asks him in an uneasy tone. Inuyasha smiles. "Yeah. Let's get out of here. I've come to get you two out and take you home." He said as they head out from the direction that Inuyasha took.

A few minutes later, Inuyasha comes to the spot where he had to make a path with the Tetsusaiga. "So, this was made by the sword that Gramps made for you?" Moroha asks him cutely. Inuyasha nods and shows the sword to the child. Moroha is amazed by the weapon being sheathed. "When can I use it?" She asks him. Inuyasha chuckles, "When you're a bit older. This is not a toy. It only choses me to use it."

Moroha pouts and crossed her arms. Kagome couldn't help but giggle at the scene. "I know how much you want to be like him, but for now you need to learn how to control yourself." She picks her daughter and carries her in her arms.

"But what's so special about it? Seems to me it's just a regular blade." Moroha said to her mother as they managed to get out of the cave that Inuyasha got in. "You see, the Tetsusaiga isn't just any ordinary sword. It has a purpose on my behalf?"

They went outside and see that it's already nighttime due to the twinkling stars and the moon out to get them light. "Like what?" Moroha asks him. "Like your bracelet that's supposed to keep your demon part in check, my sword has that too." Inuyasha answers her. Kagome can tell that Moroha is getting sleepy. "Looks like it's past your bedtime. Let's go home." She said softly. Kagome puts Moroha onto her back. Inuyasha smiles and gets them onto his back and leaps back to the Higurashi Shrine.
