In the random forest of the BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle universe, the air was charged with anticipation as two teams of formidable fighters prepared to clash. On one side stood Nine the Phantom and Labrys, an unlikely duo brought together by the whims of fate. Across from them were Bullet and Makoto Nanaya, their opponents for this fateful battle.
Nine, a powerful witch with an air of mystique, stood confidently with her arms crossed, her sharp eyes fixed on the opponents before her. Labrys, a stoic yet determined android wielding a massive axe, scanned the arena with unwavering focus. The two of them were no strangers to combat, but the pairing was unusual. Labrys, having fought for her freedom in the P-1 Grand Prix, and Nine, a master of sorcery from the world of BlazBlue, had been brought together by mysterious forces for this unique showdown.
On the other side, Bullet, a tough and battle-hardened soldier with a no-nonsense attitude, cracked her knuckles while eyeing her opponents. Makoto, her lively and upbeat companion, adjusted her gloves with a mischievous grin.
The tension in the air was palpable as the fighters exchanged glances, sizing each other up. "Looks like we're up against a witch and a robot," Bullet remarked, her tone carrying a hint of skepticism.
Makoto chuckled. "Come on, Bullet! Don't underestimate them. We've faced tougher challenges than this!"
Before the battle could even begin, however, a spark ignited between the two teams. Makoto, known for her playful demeanor, couldn't help but notice Bullet's attire – a revealing top and short shorts that left little to the imagination. "Hey, Bullet," Makoto teased with a smirk, "Isn't that outfit a bit... revealing? You're practically showing off!"
Bullet's expression hardened, her patience wearing thin. "Oh, really?" she retorted, crossing her arms defensively. "And what about you, Makoto? Wearing those short shorts, too. And teasing your opponents with underboobs, huh?"
Makoto's grin widened. "Hey, I'm just comfortable! Besides, it suits my style."
The tension between them was evident, and before Nine and Labrys could intervene, their partnership began to crumble under the weight of the brewing conflict. "Focus, Makoto," Bullet snapped, her eyes narrowing.
Labrys observed the exchange with growing concern. "Uh, Nine... I don't think they're getting along," she murmured, her mechanical voice tinged with uncertainty.
Nine sighed, her patience waning. "This is getting stupid," she muttered under her breath.
But it was too late. Makoto's playful jab had struck a nerve, and Bullet's irritation flared into anger. "Let's settle this, then!" Bullet growled, stepping forward with fists clenched.
Makoto's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, Bullet, we're a team—"
But Bullet had already lunged forward, her movements fueled by frustration. The arena erupted into chaos as Bullet and Makoto clashed, their battle cries drowning out any attempts at diplomacy.
Nine and Labrys could only watch in astonishment as their opponents turned on each other, disregarding the strategy that had brought them together. "This isn't going according to plan," Nine muttered, her brow furrowed.
Labrys gripped her axe tightly, torn between wanting to assist and the understanding that they had to let this play out. "Should we intervene, Nine?"
"No," Nine replied with a sigh.
"I'm going to join in anyway!" Labrys dashed forward with her massive axe, plunging into the frenzy of combat. Nine sighed once more, resigned to the chaos unfolding around her.
Suddenly, Chie from Persona 4 burst onto the scene, startling Nine and attracting the attention of the other competitors with her energetic shout.
"I'm here for battle! Who's my first opponent?!"
"Oh? It's you, Chie!" A mischievous grin tugged at the corners of Labrys' lips. "Finally! I can get my revenge!" she declared eagerly.
"Bring it on, Labrys!" the self-proclaimed Ku-fu fanatic challenged with a smirk. "I've been itching for a rematch with you!"
Before Chie and Labrys could engage in their own scuffle, another voice interrupted. "Chie!" Everyone turned to see Mai Natsume, looking utterly exhausted, panting heavily with sweat dripping from her face.
"Oh, hey Mai! Took you long enough!" Chie greeted her breathless partner as Mai finally caught up to her.
"I thought I told you to wait for me!"
"Sorry, but when I hear a battle going on, I just can't resist myself," Chie admitted sheepishly, earning a groan from Mai.
Mai blinked in confusion as she noticed Makoto. "Makoto, you're here too?"
Unfortunately, Makoto was too thrilled to see her old friend to hear Mai's question, lunging forward with a joyful smile. "Mai!"
"Makoto, please! Now's not the time—" Mai's words were cut off as she swiftly avoided one of Chie's unexpected kicks.
"Hey! What are you doing to Mai?!" Makoto growled. "Isn't Mai your partner?"
"Yeah, Chie! What gives?" Mai frowned, briefly hurt by the unexpected betrayal.
"Since we're in the middle of a battle royale, partners don't matter, right?" Chie asked casually.
"Well, maybe you're jumping to conclusions—"
"Get ready, Mai! It's time to show me what you're made of!" Chie charged forward without waiting for her former partner's response.
Mai deftly dodged Chie's kicks.
"Hey! Leave Mai alone, this isn't—" Makoto quickly avoided one of Bullet's unexpected punches.
"We're not done yet, Makoto!" Bullet charged at her former partner with a series of furious punches.
"I want to join in, too!" Labrys rejoined the chaotic battle royale frenzy while Nine simply massaged her temples and shook her head.
"Idiots... all of them."
