Eddie curled up around Lydia as she tried to soothe him. She knew that '19 was a big year for her brother, but hearing how big it was broke her heart. He needed help, and most let him slip through their fingers.
"Lydia," Sasha's voice calls out. Lydia looks at her.
"You two aren't twins. However, you are siblings. You are two years older than Eddie. Your parents are Ramon and Helena," Sasha tells her. The other woman nods. Both can see that Eddie is asleep.
"How are you doing?" Sasha asks the younger woman. Lydia looks at her with a stone face.
"Trying to figure things out. I'm going to stay and help Eddie. How are you?" Lydia says/asks. Sasha has a bitter smile.
"Same," Sasha responds.
"You have visitors," She says, and Lydia hums.
"Don't let them in," She says to her sister. Sasha smiles. Both know that is not what Eddie needs right now. Sasha's half tempted to go out and talk but decides not to.
"How did you and Eddie meet Lydia?" Sasha asks. The other woman laughs.
"During his second tour, my first, my bus broke down. It broke down, and Eddie's bus had to come and get us. It was crowded, and I wanted to murder people already. Eddie was near the back when he told me to sit on his knees," Lydia pauses for a minute.
"I asked him why, and all he said was, I have a better shot for shooting someone. I laughed. Our OCs were weary as we chatted away. He made me feel safe with him. He became my best friend and later my little brother. Without him, I would be lost and dead. He saved me in so many ways. He was there for me when no one else ever was," Lydia finishes looking down. Sasha smiles. The door opens, and both women smile.
"Seth, how are you?" Lydia asks. A man smiles at the two women.
"I'm good. Have you two eaten?" Seth asks, and they smile.
"We haven't eaten. What are you making, Dad?" Lydia asks. Eddie stirs a little, but Seth kisses his forehead. He smiles. These three are his children.
"Food," Seth says, and the daughters laugh.
"We love you, dad," Sasha says.
"I love you too, kiddos," Seth says.
