Hello and welcome to my first experimental fanfic of Blue Box, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, and I'm sure you'll be baffled as to what made me come up with an experimental and risky fanfiction I wrote, so below is the explanation on why.
This started last year when I was surfing on my smartphone and reading Tonikaku Kawaii online, and while reading a chapter, a panel showed Tsukasa Yuzaki mentioning/referencing Ao no Hako, and outmif curiosity I checked it on Google which led me to discover that Ao no Hako is actually a manga, which turns out to be a sports-romance story which reminded me of another similar sports-romance manga, Suzuka.
Immediately checked it out, and thankfully it's a straight school x sports x romance, with no DEATHS and over-the-top melodrama that Suzuka has, and the story and art captivated me and thus I immediately got hooked and read the manga online, which the chapters are uploaded on a weekly basis, which completed my weekend as it would keep me busy as other manga series now upload chapters every two weeks apart (such as My Hero Academia and Chained Soldier).
When an anime version is announced I wondered how this would turn out yet it also revealed that the anime would air in October this year (alongside another manga-turned anime, Dandadan), and as I had to wait for another six months, I re-read the chapters and a thought hit me, as I came up with the idea of making a fanfiction version.
At present Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano are going out but had to keep their relationship a secret until one of them graduate high school due to the fact that the latter is staying at the Inomata house due to her parents working abroad, with only a few others aware of this, and there I came up with a plot where their relationship and living conditions are slowly being unraveled by prying eyes, which made me decide to come up with a story like this.
Whether this fic would be received by fans or rejected would depend on how they would view it as this is going to be my first attempt on a sports-romance fanfic since I'm more into shounen-type series like My Hero Academia l.

Ch. 1: Omoigakenai hakken
The scene at the gymnasium of another school where the prefectural qualifiers concluded, in which Shuji Yusa won after defeating Taiki Inomata, but despite this, Taiki still qualified as he and Shuji would go to the national tournament, and there Shuji quietly complimented Taiki and told him to win his matches in the upcoming national tournament, stating that he wanted to battle him again.
"Nice match."
"Th-thanks…"
"You did well."
"Uh…yeah…"
"We're both going to the national tournament. So you better train up."
"I will."
"Make sure you're 100% prepared."
"Yeah."
After that, both left the court where Taiki's teammates in the badminton team were stunned as Taiki lost even though he came close to trying to land a tiebreaker to extend the match but noted that Taiki was at a disadvantage due to exhaustion after winning against Kengo Haryu earlier, whilst feeling bad for the latter after losing his chance to qualify for the national tournament.
"Haryu-senpai…"
"I feel bad for him…"
"Me too…"
"His only chance to land a spot at the national tournament got dashed…"
"But he did well…"
"Yeah, so he shouldn't have any regrets…"
"I agree..."
"Me too…"
The badminton team members were divided in opinion as they were torn on who to root for. Some wanted to root for Haryu and the others for Taiki. The badminton team members consists of the following:
- Kyo Kasahara
- Nishida
- Ichiro Kishisho
- Ayame Moriya (team manager)
They debated on what Haryu is thinking right now as he lost to Taiki and that his chances of making it to the national tournament have been dashed and while Ayame is worried that Haryu might resent towards Taiki, Kyo assured to her that Haryu would take it well.
"You got nothing to worry about."
"Huh?"
"Things are okay between Haryu-senpai and Taiki."
"Huh? Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"How so…?"
"I can tell."
"…"
Chinatsu Kano stood up as she tells Karen Moriya that she is going somewhere, which the latter can guess what Chinatsu is going to do and told her to be careful as her sprained ankle hasn't fully healed yet, which the latter thanked Karen and assured to her that she'll be okay
"You sure you'll and okay, Chii?"
"Yeah."
"Just be careful. Your ankle isn't…"
"Don't worry about it."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Okay. Come back safely."
"I will."
As Chinatsu left, Akari Hyodo and her female classmates glanced at Chinatsu as they debated regarding the latter as they somewhat heard her cheering for Taiki, and there Akari's two classmates started to deduce that Chinatsu is probably the girl that Taiki is dating with, which Akari started to wonder if that is the case, unaware that Taiki and Chinatsu are currently in a SECRET relationship.
"I heard her cheering loudly for Inomata-senpai…"
"Me too…"
"…"
"And of my hunch is right…"
"She must be the one he is dating…"
"S-seriously…?"
"Could be…"
"Well…remember what happened before…he wouldn't tell us if he is seeing someone or not…"
"…"

Somewhere within the gymnasium, Taiki meets up with Haryu and there the latter complimented Taiki for showing his skills and for keeping a cool head despite the exhaustion he got while fighting against Shuji during the finals of the qualifiers, which Taiki couldn't seem to accept the compliments as he feel bad about Haryu losing and lost his chance to get a spot at the upcoming national tournament.
As Taiki bowed and attempted to apologize, Haryu flicked his fingers on Taiki's head, causing the latter to clutch his forehead as a slight pain became apparent, and there Haryu sighed in annoyance and told his kouhai not to feel bad about it, reasoning that Taiki worked hard for it and that Haryu himself accepted the loss in good faith, and told Taiki to have confidence in himself so that he won't lose to anyone at the upcoming national tournament.
"Nice match."
"Th-thanks…"
"You did well."
"Uh…yeah…"
"You're going to the national tournament. Then that means there's nothing much I can train you at except give you some advice. So you better train up."
"I will."
"Make sure you're 100% prepared."
"Yeah."
Taiki nodded as Haryu left, and there Chinatsu showed up, having eavesdropping on the conversation and there she congratulated him for the matches and for getting a spot for the national tournament, which Taiki nodded and he thanked her for the support she gave him, which she smiled before they hugged each other.
As the two continue to hug, Haryu showed up, as he thought of giving Taiki some advise but saw the two hugging out, and there he decided to tease them, as he jokingly called them out and said that PDA inside the gymnasium is prohibited, causing Taiki and Chinatsu to jump in surprise, as they became worried that someone else might see them hugging one another.
"Sorry…MAKING OUT inside the gymnasium of another school is NOT ALLOWED."
"Whoa!"
"Eeep!"
"Heh-heh-heh…"
"Haryu!"
"Haryu-senpai!"
"That's an interesting sight…"
"…"
"…"
Haryu snickered at seeing Taiki and Chinatsu's flustered reactions and asked them why do they have to keep their romantic relationship a secret from everyone, causing Taiki to stare wide-eyed as he is sure that no one else would find out, as only Kyo and Karen were the only ones aware of this
He whispered to Chinatsu and asked if she told Haryu or if Karen did, which she whispered back and said that Haryu figured it out on his own, surprising Taiki as he couldn't believe that Haryu was able to figure it out so quickly.
"Eh…?"
"Yeah…"
"Haryu-senpai figured it out by himself…?"
"He did. Even I was surprised."
"I had no idea…"
"I thought Karen and Kyo are the only ones who know…"
"Well…"
"*sighing*"
As Haryu asked again why the secret relationship, Chinatsu told Haryu that her reasons for wanting to keep her and Taiki's relationship a secret is a complicated one, and Haryu sighed and said that its fine before taking his leave, and at a corner, Akari and her two classmates happened to pass by and saw Taiki and Chinatsu hugging each other a while ago, and after hearing Chinatsu telling Haryu why she wanted to keep her and Taiki's relationship a secret, Akari's classmates told her that this confirmed their deduction that Chinatsu is Taiki's girlfriend which also explain why Taiki previously said that he couldn't tell them whether he is dating or not.
"Well…that answered our mystery question."
"Me too…"
"…"
"So she's the one that Inomata is secretly dating…"
"She really must be the one he is dating…"
"S-seriously…? I…"
"There's no other answers…"
"Indeed…remember what happened before…he wouldn't tell us if he is seeing someone or not…now we know why…"
"…"
The three female first year students reluctantly left, leaving Taiki and Chinatsu alone, and there the latter congratulated her boyfriend again for the well-earned matches and for getting qualified for the national tournament, which he nodded and said that his family would be thrilled if they find out would throw a celebration, and there he told her that they better go home, and told her that they should get ready as he is sure that his mom would be eager to have a family celebration though Chinatsu said that she is out since she is technically not a family member and that she is just living with them but Taiki said that his family considered her part of it, and the two teens decided to head back to the others.
However, they didn't notice that Haryu was there and overheard the last conversation and he is taken by surprise at discovering the fact that Chinatsu is living with Taiki and wondered if this is a form of elopement or something, and as he went back, he sees Karen and there she embraced him, complimenting him for giving his all and assured to him that this is not the end.
However she sweat-dropped as Haryu is glancing at her in a suspicious way and this caused her to slightly get worried as she wondered if her boyfriend is suffering a mental breakdown or something.
"Kengo…?"
"…"
"What's wrong…?"
"…"
"Are you okay…?"
"…"
"Kengo…?"
"…"
Haryu discreetly led Karen towards a restroom area and led her inside the restroom FOR THE DISABLED and closed the door, and Karen stared wide-eyed as she wondered what has gotten into him and there Haryu asked Karen if she is aware of the fact that Chinatsu is living with Taiki, causing her to stare wide-eyed as she is sure that she hasn't told Haryu or anyone about this secret fact.
As Haryu asked her again, she sighed and confirmed it and told her the reason why Chinatsu is staying with Taiki, and he slowly nodded while sighing in relief, which Karen told him that knowing Chinatsu, she wouldn't GO OVERBOARD because Taiki's parents are also there and that both Chinatsu and Taiki are responsible and wouldn't do something foolish.
"Really, Karen?"
"Yeah. Those two won't get carried away."
"And you think they won't…?"
"They won't I'm sure of that."
"Oh, fine. If that's so then there's nothing for me to get worried about."
"Really, Kengo?"
"Yeah, really."
"That's good to hear."
Karen then wrapped her arms over his shoulders and tells him not to get depressed about losing the chance to qualify for the national tournament, which Haryu nodded and assured to her that he would get himself back up and would help his underclassmen in their practice and training during the remaining days of high school, which Karen nodded, glad that her boyfriend isn't going to let this setback drag his morale down.
Haryu then lean his face on the left side of her neck and took a sniff, which Karen blushed as she got a bit flustered at what he is doing, but then the door of the restroom suddenly opened and there hilarity ensued, as it turns out that the one who opened the door was Ayame, as she happened to catch a glimpse of Haryu taking Karen inside the restroom and there she suspect that Haryu is PLANNING SOMETHING PERVERTED towards Karen, and there she saw what's in front of her and immediately misunderstood at the sight in front of her.
"Nee-chan?"
"Huh?"
"…"
"Eeeek! Nee-chan!"
"Ayame!"
"…"
"What the heck are you two doing in there?"
"*blushing*"
"*blushing*"
Kyo, Nishida, Haruto, and Kishisho stared wide-eyed at what they saw, and the latter three accuses Haryu of being a SEX MANIAC which Haryu frantically tried to explain the misunderstanding they saw but to no avail as his three teammates accuses him of TAKING ADVANTAGE of the situation and by using Karen as an outlet for his PERVERTED PLEASURE-SEEKING.
"I can't believe what I'm seeing!"
"You really got HORNY after losing to Inomata...!"
"And now you're seducing your girlfriend just to drown your sorrows..."
"H-hey...! You guys got the wrong idea...!"
"Says the guy who led his girlfriend inside the restroom for the disabled!"
"And now you're about to STAB YOUR BIRD inside Karen's NEST!"
"Give it up. You're busted..."
"It's not what you think! And it's not like that!"
Likewise, Ayame accuses Karen of being SUBMISSIVE as she ALLOWED Haryu of taking advantage of her, and though Karen tried to clarify the misunderstanding Ayame wouldn't listen as she told her elder sister that she caught her IN THE ACT of MAKING OUT with Haryu, like letting him kiss her neck, and there Ayame said that if she hadn't intervene Haryu might have gone ahead and slowly strip Karen and have his lips KISS HER BARE CHEST and BOOBS, causing Karen to blush furiously and the Moriya siblings began bicker rather loudly.
Taiki and Chinatsu sweat-dropped at the scene and wondered what just happened and why Karen and Haryu are together inside the restroom for the disabled and if Ayame is telling the truth about what she is accusing Karen and Haryu of.

Hope you like the opening chapter, as this was inspired and based on chapter 143 of the Blue Box manga, but I added some original plot and a bit of some naughty humor in the end, but this is just the start as more are on the way.

The next chapter opens the story where an unexpected situation happen as one by one some of Chinatsu and Taiki's friends started to notice that the aforementioned two are CLOSER…and at the same time some would accidentally caught a glimpse of Chinatsu going inside the Inomata residence…
