Pikachu Short: Pikachu and Pichu Too!

Nestled in an alleyway of a bustling city is a towering structure made from tires and other odds and ends one might find in a city. A long piece of pipe forms a slide from the top of the structure to the bottom. Pokémon of all sorts play on the tower. Among them is Hoppip, Wooper, a Hitmontop, a Smeargle, an Igglybuff, Cleffa, a Smoochum, a Magby, Voltorb, Electrode, a Shuckle, Spinarak, a Furret, a Sunflora, Bellsprout, Diglett, Dugtrio, a Houndour, and more.

All the Pokémon jump and dance about as they laugh, play, and have fun. Two Pokémon emerge from the old cuckoo clock at the top of the tower. They're both Pichu.

Well, well, well. Will you look at that! It's our old friends, the Pichu Brothers! How are you doing, Pichu Big and Pichu Little?

The Pichu Brothers wave and shout together, "Pichu pi!"

I wonder what misadventures await them today.

Pichu Little looks down and sees the particularly bouncy tire that Furret is using as a trampoline. Little shouts down, "Pi pichu!"

Furret looks up to it. "Furret!" It hops off the tire and pushes it to a spot beneath the slide. "Fur!"

Pichu Big realizes what its little brother has in mind. It steps in front of Little and scolds, "Pichu pi pichu!"

Little tries to ignore the other and attempts to move around it, but Big sidesteps to continue blocking it. The two end up stepping back in forth as Little attempts to get around Big. Little attempts to dive forward just as Big gets in the way again. The two of them end up tumbling back. Together, they roll down the length of the slide, picking up speed as they do.

All the other Pokémon stop what they're doing to watch. Thinking it was on purpose, they cheer for the tumbling Pichu Brothers.

Big and Little tumble right onto the trampoline tire, and with the incredible speed they hit it with, they're launched into the air. They soar straight out of the alley and over the buildings beyond. All their friends break out in applause before returning to their usual activities.

The Pichu Brothers continue to tumble through the air until they're out over water. At first, it looks like they'll land in it, but then a boat floats underneath them. They plop into a wooden crate sitting among other boxes on the ship's deck. Just moments after they land, a worker turns around, places a lid on the crate, seals it, and walks away.

As the boat sails off into the ocean, the crate shakes as the Pichu Brothers attempt to escape.

In a different city, this one much more futuristic, there's a park. In that park, a group of familiar Pokémon play. Pikachu, Kappaquarius, Meteorfight, Rabbolt, and Blissey look to be playing hide and seek. Solurtle is basking in the sunlight. Dashilisk is chasing Lupine around, much to Lupine's amusement. Glitterfly, Wispirit, and Frostcicle are flying circles around each other in the air. Eagladiator and Arborrior are trading blows in a sparring match. Ninjitsu is punching a rock, which Guardgoyle is perched atop as still as a statue.

While Rabbolt covers its eyes to count, Pikachu sprints to find a hiding spot. After looking around, it settles on standing behind a tree near the edge of the park.

But while hiding, Pikachu notices something. Across the street, a wooden crate is being delivered to a house. At the entrance, the deliveryman opens the crate, only to have the Pichu Brothers leap out, much to his surprise. They jump over the deliveryman and into the street.

The sudden appearance of the Pichu Brothers confuses Pikachu. "Pika?" Then it notices that there's a car coming down the road, and it looks like it's going to hit them. "Pika! Pika!"

Pichu Little notices Pikachu and happily waves to it. "Pi pichu!"

Pikachu jumps out from its hiding spot and runs across the street to push the Pichu Brothers to safety. At this time, Rabbolt was looking nearby and notices Pikachu. It runs after Pikachu.

Guardgoyle is also able to see the events transpire from its perch atop the boulder, but it seems to make no immediate action.

Pikachu tackles the Pichu Brothers off the road just in time for them all to avoid the car. Once safe, Pikachu breathes a sigh of relief. "Pika…"

Pichu Big and Little jump up and down in joy at seeing their old friend. "Pichu! Pichu!"

Rabbolt catches up and tags Pikachu from behind. It laughs, "Rab bolt bolt!" It points tauntingly at Pikachu and makes a rude face.

Pichu Little looks up to Rabbolt and mirrors the rude face right back at it.

This surprises Rabbolt. "Bolt!?" It angrily sizes up the Pichu, and then makes a different face at it, only to have Pichu Little mirror it back almost instantly.

Pikachu and Pichu Big both look at the display with slight embarrassment and chuckle slowly.

Suddenly remembering that it's unusual to see the Pichu Brothers, Pikachu asks with concern, "Pika pi pikachu?"

Pichu Big explains with some panic, "Pichu pi! Pi pichu pi!"

Oh no! Tenno is a far way away from home for the Pichu Brothers. How will they ever get back to Big Town?

Pikachu nods confidently. "Pik pikachu!" It points off in the distance towards the ocean, where a boat is coming in.

Oh? Pikachu knows how to get them to a boat that will take them back? That's great!

Pichu Big cheers. "Pichu pi!"

"Pika pi!" Pikachu urges the Pichu Brothers to follow. Pichu Big does, but Little and Rabbolt are still locked in their rude face staredown. Pikachu and Pichu Big both sigh with exasperation. Big grabs Little and Pikachu grabs Rabbolt and they both drag them away, the two all the while refusing to give up on their antics.

Having somehow moved to a perch on a building above, Guardgoyle watches them depart.

Pichu Big and Pichu Little are now both following Pikachu as it leads them down the side of a street. Rabbolt is begrudgingly following behind them.

Rabbolt suddenly gets a mischievous idea. It runs forward and pushes Pikachu out of the way so that it can take the lead of the group. "Rab rab rab!"

Pichu Little doesn't take kindly to Rabolt's actions and shouts angrily, "Pi pichu! Pichu!"

Rabbolt looks back to it and asks, "Rab bolt rab?" as if taunting the Pichu.

Little leaps at Rabbolt. "Pichu!"

Big tries to stop Little, but is too late.

As Little leaps at Rabbolt, Rabbolt uses one of its legs to kick the Pichu away. Little is sent tumbling into an adjacent alley.

Pikachu approaches Rabbolt and scolds, "Pika pi pikachu!"

Rabbolt crosses it arms and turns away from Pikachu. "Rabbolt."

Before Pikachu can scold any further, they all hear a cry for help. "Pichuuuuuu!"

Pichu Big looks into the alley with worry. "Pichu?"

"Pika!" Pikachu runs forward. Big and Rabbolt follow.

In the dark alley, they find Little stuck upside down on a massive spiderweb. It cries again, "Pichuuuuu! Pichuuuuuu!"

Pikachu leaps up and uses Iron Tail on the web to cut Pichu Little down. "Chu, pika!"

Big runs up to the bottom of the web and tries to catch Little before it hits the ground, but both just end up on the ground instead.

Rabbolt chuckles, "Rab rab rab!"

Pikachu scolds, "Chu pika pika chu!"

Rabbolt groans, then looks to the Pichu Brothers and apologizes insincerely, "Rab rabbolt…"

Pikachu nods approvingly.

Something from behind the ruins of the web makes a noise. Several somethings by the sounds of it. It's like a group of chittering whispers.

Pikachu squints to try to get a better look in the shadows of the alley. Then the sources of the voices emerge. It's ten or so spider-like Pokémon. The small Pokémon have even smaller legs striped yellow and black. Their faces are black with multiple large red eyes. Their abdomens are white and shaped like a skull. In addition to the ones crawling out from behind the web, several lower down on threads.

Pikachu, the Pichu Brothers, and Rabbolt step back cautiously with some fear.

Oh no! It looks like while trying to save Pichu Little, Pikachu just disturbed a Scarachnid nest!

They keep backing up, but rather than making it out of the alley, they find themselves pinned against a dumpster with Scarachnid coming at them slowly from every angle.

Pichu Little wails in fear, "Pichuuuuuu!"

But things only get worse when the Scarachnid part to allow one even larger Pokémon forward. It's a Terrorantula. "Terrorant."

Pikachu gulps nervously, takes a step forward, then tries to explain, "Pika pi pika… Pikachu pika pi…"

Terrorantula shouts, "Antula!" It lunges forward at Pikachu, who leaps back, putting it once again against the dumpster.

Just as the Scarachnid look ready to attack, a barrage of pointed stones flies in from above, knocking many of the Scarachnid away and creating an opening for Pikachu and others.

"Pika?" Pikachu looks up to see Guardgoyle perched above.

The Pokémon shouts, "Goyle! Guardgoyle!" It uses Stone Edge once more to widen the opening.

Pikachu, the Pichu Brothers, and Rabbolt make a break for it. They get out of the alley as fast as possible.

Terrorantula shouts in anger, "Terrorantula!" The Scarachnid that weren't downed by Guardgoyle give chase. The swarm of spider Pokémon pour out from the alley and into the city streets. This startles many nearby pedestrians.

Pikachu's group just keeps on running.

Ahead of them is Meowth, Wobbuffet, and Mime Jr. Meowth and Wobbuffet are walking, while Mime Jr. rides atop Wobbuffet's head. Meowth complains, "Why do us Pokémon got to be running the errands? It's discrimination if you ask me."

Wobbuffet declares, "Wobbuffet!"

Meowth adds, "In fact, I say next time they ask us to do anything, we all say no. Let's see how far those good-for-nothing humans can get without our help. We Pokémon need to stick together, after all."

"Wobbuffet!"

"Pikachuuuu!"

Meowth pauses. "Do my ears deceive me, or is that the voice of a distressed Pikachu I hear?"

Then Pikachu, the Pichu Brothers, and Rabbolt come running past Meowth, Wobbuffet, and Mime Jr. with such force that they send the three spinning. Once he recovers, Meowth says, "It is! It is a distressed Pikachu! But what's got that twerp so riled up?"

"Wobbuffet!"

"I should look behind us? Why?" Meowth turns around to see the entire street behind him filled with Scarachnid. Oddly calm, he says, "Oh. I see." Then he shouts, "Run! It's every Pokémon for themselves!" They book it as fast as they can.

"Wobbuuuuffeeeeet!"

"Mime mime miiiiiiiime!"

Back with Pikachu's group, they're running toward a bridge that spans an inlet of water. A large boat is heading towards the bridge. Pikachu points ahead and shouts, "Chu pika chu!"

The Pichu Brothers both nod in response as they try their best to keep up.

As they all run, Rabbolt hops ahead of Pikachu and tries to push it back in order to stay ahead, but Pikachu pushes back. The two fight to stay ahead, but once they realize that this is only allowing the Scarachnid to gain on them, they wordlessly agree to stop and push forward side-by-side.

The bridge ahead of them has begun to move. It's a drawbridge, and it's raising for the incoming boat. Pikachu urgently shouts, "Pika!"

They all make it to the bridge just as the gap between the two halves becomes appreciable. Pikachu, Rabbolt, and Pichu Big all manage to make the jump across, but Pichu Little was slightly behind and skids to a stop before the gap. It's just too wide for it to be able to confidently jump across. It shouts in fear, "Pichuuuuu!" It glances back at the Scarachnid, which are fast approaching, and shouts even more, "Pichuuuuuuu!"

Pichu Big shouts back, "Pichu piiiii!"

Pikachu contemplates jumping back to get Little but knows it could never make the jump.

But before Pikachu can even try, Rabbolt has already leapt across the gap. "Rab!" It grabs Little, then leaps back. "Bolt!"

Together, they all look back to see the swarm of Scarachnid stop at the gap. They are unable to jump across.

Together, Pichu Little and Rabbolt make taunting faces at the spider Pokémon. Pichu Big grabs its little brother and gives it a tight hug. Pichu Little still seems more interested in making faces at the Scarachnid.

Pikachu looks at Rabbolt and thanks, "Pika pi."

Rabbolt feigns indifference and looks away.

Pikachu grins, then urges everyone to move forward. "Pika!" It points ahead. Downhill from them is a port, and there's the same cargo boat that the Pichu Brothers arrived on parked there.

Excitedly, the Pichu Brothers run on ahead. Pikachu and Rabbolt follow.

As they approach the boat, a whistle sounds to announce that it will be departing soon. Pikachu points to the boarding ramp, which is about to be pulled up. It encourages, "Pik pika!"

The Pichu Brothers both nod. "Pichu!" They sprint forward, only to crash into a Pokémon that suddenly appears before them. It's Terrorantula. The Pichu Brothers cower back. "Pichu…"

Pikachu shouts, "Pika pik pikachu!"

Terrorantula doesn't seem to care. "Terror!"

Rabbolt shouts, "Rabbolt bolt!"

The ramp has now been retracted and the boat is beginning to move. The Pichu Brothers shout, "Pichuuuuu!"

Terrorantula spits a thick strand of silk at the Pichu Brothers. The Pokémon both bounce out of the way. The thread sticks to wall behind them.

Seeing this gives Pikachu an idea. It explains to Rabbolt, "Pika pi pika. Pika pika chu. Pi pikachu."

Rabbolt nods in agreement. "Rabbolt." Rabbolt leaps in front of Terrorantula and makes a taunting face. "Rab bolt bolt!"

Terrorantula unleashes a String Shot at it, but Rabbolt leaps out of the way.

Then Pikachu goes to the other side of Terrorantula and shouts, "Pika!" Terrorantula tries to get Pikachu with String Shot, but Pikachu also dodges.

The Pichu Brothers seem to pick up on the plan. They both leap and make faces to taunt the Pokémon as well. Things continue on like this, with the four Pokémon taunting Terrorantula into shooting string and missing several times over. One of those strings shoots all the way across the water to the slowly departing boat. At last, when Terrorantula turns to spit another String Shot, it finds itself tangled in its own web. It's unable to move any more.

With Terrorantula pinned down, Pikachu urges, "Pika pi!"

The Pichu Brothers nod in agreement. "Pichu!" Together, they dash across the thread connecting the boat to land. With perfect balance, they cross the web.

But none of them notice that Terrorantula hasn't given up. From the spot it's stuck, it's able to fire one last String Shot at the Pichu Brothers.

Pikachu notices this too late and shouts in warning, "Pikaaa!"

The Pichu Brothers look back with fear at the oncoming thread.

But then, much like before, pointed stones fly in from above and severe the incoming String Shot. Everyone looks up to see Guardgoyle on yet another perch watching them resolutely. It urges, "Guardgoyle!"

The Pichu Brothers nod and continue their crossing. The string has begun to sever from the boat as it has been stretched to its limit. Pichu Big notices this and pushes Pichu Little to give it an extra boost so it can make it to the boat just before the string snaps. Pichu Big starts to fall with the string, but Pichu Little reaches down and catches its brother. Pichu Big is pulled in, and both are safely on the boat. They both poke their heads over the edge of the boat and shout in goodbye, "Pichuuuu!"

Pikachu waves back and bids farewell, "Pikachuuuu!"

Rabbolt waves too. "Rab rabbolt!

But then Pichu Little makes a face at Rabbolt. Rabbolt returns the gesture. But this time their faces aren't antagonistic, they're done in fun and jest.

From its perch above, Guardgoyle nods with the satisfaction of a job well done and says to itself, "Goyle," before returning to standing as still as a statue.

Thanks to our friend Pikachu, the Pichu Brothers are now safely on their way back home. That may be the end of this misadventure for the trouble-making duo, but surely plenty more lie ahead of them.
