Zap ran into the other emergency room, he tripped and fell to the floor. He immediately closed the door, stood back before hiding next to the emergency bed and covered his mouth with his hand so that he couldn't make a sound as he sat down on the floor, next to the bed. He heard a big hiss from the were-cat Dex emerging downstairs and breaking the emergency door down, Zap kept his mouth covered with his hand. Dex lurks around until he turns to spot Zap next to the bed. Zap is surprised with fear that Dex knows where he's hiding. On all fours, he slowly crawls toward Zap while hissing at him with the cat's eyes glowing.
"Dex, please don't hurt me. It's me, Zap," said Zap. Dex still hissed at him, preparing his claws for attack. "It's really me, Dex. You gotta remember. Remember, your favorite song is called "Too Close", we used to sing this song together and Tung found it annoying and said "Uh uh". Do you remember that?" said Zap, scared for his life. The were-cat Dex prepares to raise his claws to attack Zap but is stopped by Zap's singing who turns his face away from the attack with his eyes shut tight.
Zap, singing:
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
There's nothing I can really say
I can't lie no more
I can't hide no more
Got to be true to myself
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
So I'll be on my way
Dex slowly comes closer to Zap, recognizing him. The were-cat purred as he licked Zap's face and then rubbed his face on his face by grooming. Zap looked into his red cat eyes as Dex stared at Zap's yellow eyes, knowing that the were-cat was Dex Hamilton. "Dex, what happened to you? Did the cat change you like this?" said Zap, wondering. Zap stroked Dex's were-cat fur with his hand gently. "Zap!" said Tung as he came by. Dex hissed and then jumped out the window.
"Zap, are you OK?" said Lola. "I'm OK, he didn't scratch me. Where's Jen-Jen?" said Zap. "She's in the emergency room, she fainted like she never saw anything coming," said Tung. "We have to find Dex immediately before he goes to the city and the hunters are gonna come looking for him," said Zap.
In the first emergency room, Lola rubbed Jenny's face with the small wet, cold cloth. Jenny wakes up, feeling the cold from the wet cloth. "What happened? Where's Dex?" said Jenny. "He jumped out of the window, you passed out of fear," said Lola. "Please, tell me it's a nightmare," said Jenny. "Well…" said Lola. "It's not a nightmare, I was being chased by Dex. He got turned into the big cat creature, it's probably the cat scratch that caused him to turn," said Zap. "Are you saying that Dex was turned into… A werecat due to a scratch?" said Jenny. "It's crazy, but yes," said Tung. "Oh my god," said Jenny as she picked up the cup of cold water to drink so that she could calm down. "How are you feeling?" asked Zap. "I didn't see it coming, I felt terrified to see Dex changing. I never saw a werewolf or a were-cat in my life until now," said Jenny. "None of us have ever seen creatures like this before, either," said Zap. "Did Dex attack you?" asked Jenny. "He almost did, but he stopped and heard me singing to him and he recognized me and the song we sang together," said Zap. "What song did you sing to him?" asked Jenny. "Too Close by Alex Clare," said Zap. "Oh, I remember that song. That was my uncle and aunt's favorite song," said Lola. "We've got to find Dex and break the curse before it's too late," said Jenny. "I agree," said Zap.
