"With the introductions done, we are now ready to begin the match! Here are the rules: one member of each team will be fighting at once, but they can tag to one of their teammates at any moment by tapping into their hands - or any other limb!" Donald explained. "The goal is to eliminate every member of the opposite team, either by knocking them unconscious, pinning them for ten seconds or forcing them to give up! The last team standing wins!"
As Team Magical World's Elite began chatting, Logan turned towards his teammates. "So? Who wanna go first?"
"I'd like to," Seth immediately volunteered. "If you give me a chance, I promise you guys not to let you down and to make a good first impression for the team!"
Logan looked at the others; nobody objected and simply nodded in agreement. "Okay then, make us proud out there, Seth!"
"I will!" the young shapeshifter beamed and ran out into the fighting zone, whilst the others went to stand just outside, waiting to be tagged.
Meeting Seth in the middle of the zone was Chad, who gave his opponent a grin. "So you like dinosaurs, huh? In that case, I'll just blast you all the way back to the Jurassic Period!"
"Actually, most of my dinosaurs are from the Cretaceous Period," Seth corrected. "But I get your point."
Tinker Bell flew by and rang the bell, announcing the start of the match. Not wasting a second, Seth transformed into a cheetah and dashed toward his opponent, leaping and transforming into a boa constrictor to trap him into his coils. "Nice! He immediately caught him before he could do anything!" Reptil beamed.
"You're not getting out of this, so I suggest you surrender," Seth advised.
"I wouldn't be so sure," Chad replied with a grin. He managed to reach his DJ mixer and pressed on some buttons that pushed Seth off of him with a sound blast.
Rachel turned her head to look at Logan. "So this guy, Chad, got music-based magic?"
"Yes," Logan confirmed with a nod. "When we were at Disney's school, Chad discovered his magical abilities thanks to his unrequited love for music - he would sometimes work as a DJ for parties. But I'm sure Seth'll find a way to beat him."
Going back to the fight, Seth transformed into a triceratops and charged at Chad, who used his DJ mixer to shoot ultrasonic sounds that not only stunned Seth, but also knocked him back. "Ouch! My sensitive ears!" Jameson whined and covered his pointy ears with his wings.
Taking advantage of his opponent's stunned condition, Chad grabbed a part of his DJ mixer that disconnected and turned into a laser blade. "Get ready to taste my DJ Blade!" He charged and went for the winning blow. However, at the last second, Seth summoned Zoology, his Keyblade, and blocked the incoming attack.
"Wow! The guy can turn into animals AND use a Keyblade? Quite a deadly combination, if you ask me," Orange said with a whistle, to which Talise nodded.
At first, the two men seemed evenly matched, but it quickly became apparent that Seth was the most skilled swordsman. He delivered an upward strike to Chad's chin and then immediately turned into a brachiosaurus, slamming his huge tail over Chad, who turned into a comedic pancake. "Chad is no longer available to continue! The first knock-out goes to the Fellowship of Dreamers!" Goofy announced.
"Woo-hoo! The new generation is alive!" Melody shouted from the audience, causing nearby watchers to laugh.
"Good job, Seth!" Roman also praised his comrade with a thumb's up.
"See? I told you I wouldn't let you guys down!" Seth happily exclaimed. He then turned towards the rest of the opposite team. "So, who's next?"
Orange decided to step up and get into the fighting zone. "Wouldn't ya like to come by my restaurant sometime? I could use some hand moving things around and doing some renovations here and there," the food-lover asked in a chill tone.
"Sorry; I got my hands full at the moment. Maybe another time," Seth politely replied. He then turned into a cougar and dashed to deliver a donkey kick that knocked Orange far. He attempted to follow with a strike of his Keyblade, but Orange created energy around his arm that took the shape of a knife and blocked it. "W-What's that?!"
"It's like cooking, but in combat!" Orange replied with a grin. He covered his other arm in a fork-shaped energy and began attacking Seth, who eventually jumped away to catch his breath.
"Seth!" The shapeshifter turned his head to see Tomada calling for him. "Tag me in; you get some rest while I take it from here!" Seth offered no opposition and went to clap Tomada's wing before going out whilst he went in. "Alright, let's get this started!"
"You must be this falcon friend Logan's always talking about," Orange remarked. He gave a smile. "Thanks for watching over him whilst my friends and I were gone."
"Hey, he and I go a long way before the Magical World. And, today, I intend to make him proud of me as his best friend!" the falcon declared and took out his double-bladed sword with a grin. Using his trademark speed, he began dashing all around Orange, sending sword strikes from every direction, which the cook deflected to the best of his abilities.
After taking too many cuts, Orange decided to change strategies and summoned an orange magic sigil. "Orange Juice Canon!" Out of the sigil came a beam of orange juice aimed straight at the falcon.
Seeing the attack coming, Tomada swiftly grabbed his tomahawk. "Coyote Windstorm!" Taping into the spiritual power of Coyote, Tomada shot a powerful gust of wind that cut through Orange's attack and sent him flying in the air. "And that's not all! Shiva, use Diamond Dust!" With his eyes glowing green and taping into his shaman powers, Tomada summoned the beautiful ice spirit, who trapped Orange in a block of ice, effectively immobilizing him until elimination.
"Orange has been eliminated! That's the second consecutive victory for the Fellowship of Dreamers!" Goofy announced.
In the audience, Brooklyn whistled with his eyes wide open. "Logan's team is on fire today!"
"At this rate, they'll have won this whole thing in no time!" Sprig beamed, getting a nod of agreement from Della.
"Don't get too carried away; Drake's still got eight members left and some of them are pretty talented," Gabriel pointed out, shaking his head.
Logan happily jumped up and down, whilst the other members of the Fellowship cheered the falcon. "Way to go, Tom!" he shouted, throwing his fist forward. Tomada smiled and gave him a thumb's up. "Wanna give the tag to someone?"
"Nah; I can keep going," the falcon waved his wing and turned to the Magical World's Elite. "Alright, who wanna come up now?"
Drake simply scoffed whilst looking at his opponents. "Ali, go all out on them," he simply said. Ali gave a happy smile and hopped into the fighting zone.
"You said that girl is an old friend of yours and Logan, right?" Ben questioned Rachel. "Is she strong?"
"I can't say; we haven't seen her in a long time," Rachel replied. "Whatever she has learned in the last years, I hope that Tomada will be capable of handling it..."
Tomada acted fast and opened his wings to dash at Ali, hoping to hit hard and fast. However, before getting close, the Fire Magician summoned pillars of fire from the ground which burned the falcon and made him fall to the ground. 'Where'd that come from?!' he wondered and got back up, rubbing his burnt marks. When Ali shot a jet of fire in his direction, Tomada's eyes glowed green as he called on his shaman powers and summoned Sobek to protect him with a water shield.
"So that girl can use fire magic, too, huh?" Leon mumbled to himself as he watched the match with interest. "And she's got a pretty advanced mastery of it. Be careful out there, Tom."
Deciding to fight fire with water, Tomada once again called Sobek and made him send a wave towards the Fire Magician. This last one used a jet of fire to shoot herself high in the air and over the incoming wave. Exactly what Tomada had hoped she would do. He opened his wings and took off with the goal to strike Ali down with his sword. 'Awesome! Ali's stuck in the air, so there's no way she'll be able to avoid Tomada's next attack!' Ben thought.
Or so he thought. At the last second, Ali grinned and created a sphere of fire around her that Tomada collided head on as he failed to halt his momentum. He got burned once again and found himself falling to the ground, crashing down hard. "Fire Cage!" Ali created a cage of raging flames that prevented Tomada from moving anymore. She then charged fire magic that took the form of a phoenix all around her. "And now, the fatal blow! FIREBIRD CRASH!" She charged down and landed right on the immobilized falcon, creating an explosion of fire. When the smoke cleared, Ali was standing over an unconscious Tomada covered in burnt marks.
"Tomada!" Logan, Jameson, and Roman exclaimed at unison.
"And, just like that, the shaman of the Dream Defenders is eliminated from the match!" Donald said.
"Quite the surprise; I was expecting him to be amongst the final members of his team, to be honest," Goofy said, rubbing the back of his head.
The animals like Bambi all sighed sadly in the audience, whilst Logan had a look of disbelief on his face. To say that seeing his best friend being taken out so soon affected his motivation would be an understatement. "Ali really has gotten stronger since our participation in Master Yen Sid's show..."
Ben placed a hand on Logan's shoulder. "Don't feel down, Logan; we're still in the game! Let's go out there and keep on our victory streak going!"
"Allow me to take the stage," Almyra said and hopped into the fighting zone.
"You're that peahen girl known as the Dancer of the Mystical Veils, aren't you?" Ali asked.
"Herself, sweetie!" the Indian peafowl replied and blew kisses to the audience. "Hope you like dancing, 'cause I'm about to turn this competition into a dance party!" She tapped her foot to the ground to create a beat and began shaking her hips, calling on the power of her dance magic. She reached her hands above her head and moved her body like a snake until an actual snake appeared and charged at Ali.
The Fire Magician easily burned the energy snake away with a fire punch, only to receive a surprise dive kick from Almyra, which knocked her back. "Covering your actual attack with a different one; well thought!" she praised. "Fire storm!"
As a wall of flames approached her, Almyra performed a spin on herself and took on a pose to create a water train around her. "Elemental Train: Water Style!" She used her water protection to break through the wall of fire without getting burnt.
"She's really skillful with her magic. And so gracious!" Talise praised from the sides.
Almyra went on the offense and attempted to hit Ali up close with her water train, forcing the Fire Magician to dodge and step back as she didn't have the means of countering water-based spells. The peahen ended up delivering a good hip thrust that knocked Ali back, making her groan. "What's this? I came for a fighting competition; not a dancing contest!"
"Life's full of surprise, dear!" Almyra said with a wink. She then performed a modified version of her Sword Dance that created floating scimitars made of water. Ali tried her best to dodge them, but her fire attacks had little effect on them, and she took many hits. Eventually, Almyra hopped and tackled the Fire Magician to the round, striking a pose. "I claim this victory on behalf of my friends!"
"You're very good, girl... But you shouldn't have let your guard down like this," Ali said with a little grin.
Before Almyra could understand what she meant, chains of fire suddenly burst from the ground and grabbed her legs, preventing her from moving. The peahen gasped and quickly started dancing to call on her mystical powers, but Ali kicked to her feet and wrapped more chains of fire around her body, effectively preventing her from dancing.
"You should have taken me out with water when you had the chance," the Fire Magician chuckled with a sinister smirk. With a swing of her hands, she called huge jets of fire that burst from the ground and dove toward the immobilized dancer.
"Almyra! Move!" Aline called in panic.
Unfortunately, the Indian peafowl was unable to move despite her struggle. She only had time to close her eyes before the flames fell down on her, leaving her lying down with her feathers roasted and smoking.
"Almyra is out of the match!" Donald called. "This surprise attack left her no chance to escape - even her mystical dance was unable to get her out of this situation!"
"Too bad; she had quite the moves. I would've liked to see more of her," Chris admitted to N, who nodded in agreement.
"Aww, this sucks," Jameson whined, his ears dropping flat. "Almyra was one of the strongest members of our group; it won't be easy to win now."
"Stay strong, James," Rachel encouraged her nephew, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Rachel's right; we may be two members down, but we're far from having shown everything we're capable of!" Logan declared, exchanging a glare with Drake across the arena.
Author's note: The match has started! I hope you're enjoying it so far! On one side, the Magical World's Elite has lost two members in Chad and Orange whilst the Fellowship of Dreamers has lost Tomada and Almyra, leaving it with eight members for each team. You guys must probably be surprised that Logan's best friend and who is essentially the female version of Gabriel have been taken out so soon. This was mostly done to showcase how much progress Ali has made since 'Living In The Magical World'. Even if she didn't stick around after that story, I'm convinced that she should be around the same level as Logan and Rachel, considering they were in the same class when introduced. Can any member of the Fellowship defeat her? Stay stunned to find out!
