Lancex, Cosmos, Optimus, and Grimlock made their way to the med bay. And upon entering, they saw Aquaformer lying on a berth, holding two of her five sparklings, while Skyfire held two others and Ultra Magnus held the youngest and smallest, a precious mechling. "Congratulations, Aquaformer" Lancex offered up.
"Thanks, Lancex. Meet my Little family: I'm holding Jetlag and Spartan. Skyfire is holding our two femmes Crystal and Quartz, and Ultra Magnus is holding the little surprise mechling we didn't expect. His name is Sparkbreaker" Aquaformer stated, pointing to each sparkling as it was named.
"Everyone is healthy and made it through the sparking safe and sound, thanks to First Aid" Skyfire added.
Optimus was in awe in a sense that it had been so long since he had seen sparklings. He smiled and couldn't wait until he had his own. Grimlock carefully sniffed one of the little femmes Skyfire was holding and instantly felt a sense of needing to protect the little ones. "Me Grimlock's sparklings or not, tiny bots need protecting" Grimlock said.
"True, Grimlock. Sparklings are vulnerable to many things and we have to keep them safe" Skyfire replied.
Lancex and Cosmos just stared, each thinking now that they couldn't wait for when their heat would hit. They weren't afraid anymore, they were eager to be in the same place as Aquaformer. Then Aquaformer did something that neither Lamcex nor his mates expected. She offered Lancex to hold the precious ones she held herself. Not wanting to make the femme mad or upset her, Lancex gently took and held the little ones. And with slight correction from Ultra Magnus to help hold the little ones, Lancex soon beamed from audio to audio as he held the precious little ones. One choice – the choice to go with Aquaformer had led to more than Lancex ever could have dreamed of.
"Thank you" Lancex said, for more than one thing.
"You are welcome. Never give up, better things always await you if you give it a chance" Aquaformer replied, making Lancex feel better and not feel he had to explain things.
"Aquaformer, I owe you a thank you and an apology" Optimus said, "I am sorry that I was so hard on you about the plan you had for the four of us. I had failed to see how our issues had created issues for the base. Also, thank you for the movie suggestion, it was just what we needed."
"You are forgiven and you are welcome. Now if you will excuse me, I am still tired from sparking" Aquaformer said before falling back into recharge. Ultra Magnus directed Lancex to the sparkling berths to set down the sparklings in his hands. Lancex set them down and soon enough he and his mates left. All four couldn't wait until they could create their own family with sparklings. They wouldn't have to wait too long.
