Ok, so I have been getting quite a few OC kaiju requests from multiple people. This is much appreciated, but I kindly ask that you only bring up any desired OC kaiju only once (I will not say any specific names for the sake of anonymity). Otherwise I just feel pressured to use it. I will look at the ideas, and decide which ones would be good to add to the story. HOWEVER, this does NOT mean I will use all the ones mentioned. With that friendly announcement out of they way, back to the story.
Madison led Hayley through a maze of shelves, muttering to herself as he looked over the different texts and occasionally pulling one out. After a few minutes, she walked over to a table, placing three different books on it.
"Ok" she said, "You said you were looking for Mothra, right?"
Hayley nodded, and Madison then opened the first book, flipping through the pages until she came to one showing a giant, moth-like creature; the same one Hayley had seen in her vision.
"That's her" Hayley said, sitting next to Madison.
Madion nodded. "Mothra was actually the first Titan I ever came into real contact with. She's definitely one of the calmer ones, always seeming to protect both humans and fellow Titans alike, though she will retaliate if attacked."
"Is she…magic, by any chance?" Hayley nervously asked. Madison gave her a quizzical look. "Why do you ask?"
Hayley recounted her vision to Madison, who began to look more and more concerned the farther Hayley got into her story. When she had finished, Madison stroked her chin. "I'm not sure if Mothra's magical. Some say she is, though. However, it's the three heads that worry me."
"Why?"
Madison flipped through the second book, coming to a picture of a cave painting, depicting a three headed dragon.
"It's called King Ghidorah" Madison replied, her tone grim, "It was the biggest challenger to the title of Alpha, and almost succeeded. He is by far the deadliest Titan we have on record. He's also supposed to be dead."
"Maybe this is one of his kind?" Hayley suggested.
"Maybe. But that doesn't make me feel any better. We have no idea what the Kaiju Sisters have been planning, but if they plan on bringing one of his kind, or worse yet, bring Ghidorah himself back from the dead, then we may be in more trouble than we thought. Somehow, your friend, Boy, is connected to it."
Hayley grew frightened as she imagined what King Ghidorah may have been like. "Mothra told me to find her. Can you help with that?"
"She comes from a place called Infant Island. It's impossible to find that place as it began constantly shifting locations ever since the first kaiju attack. Only a native of the island can take you there…and I think there are two that live here now."
…
"Alright, we're fucking lost." Adrian groaned. He, Mei, and Taylor were called to the mech hangar where Yun was able to get them permission to see Mechagodzilla and Atlas as they went through their upgrades. Unfortunately, it was as if you were expected to know the way there; there were few signs and even fewer memorable places to backtrack to.
"Would it kill them to add more signs?" Mei asked, "I'd be fine with a decent map at this point."
"Whatever the case" Taylor said, "Adrian's right. We're-Gkk!"
Taylor was cut off as he accidentally collided with a metal shape, which then turned around to face him, causing the trio to gasp in surprise. It looked like a man in armor; the helmet was angular and designed to look like a sort of smiling face. The arms were colored deep pink, orange, and blue, with the rest being silver. The initials "JJ" were on its shoulder.
As the three watched, the figure leaned forward and cocked his head before pointing to Taylor as if to ask, "Are you ok?"
"Uhhh…" was al Taylor could get out.
"There you are" came a voice from behind the figure as Yun appeared down the hall, "I figured you would get lost, so I came over as fast as I could."
"That's great" Adrian said, "But who, or what, is that?"
Yun looked to the metal figure and smiled, "Oh, him? Don't worry, he's harmless. Everyone, meet Jet Jaguar, Professor Otaki's greatest creation."
Jet Jaguar gave a casual wave hello.
"He's a bit small to be fighting kaiju, isn't he?" Mei asked.
"He is now, but he can alter his size at will. Trust me, it's quite the sight to see. Anyways, how bout I show you to your mech now?"
"Pleeease…" Adrian groaned.
After a few minutes, they arrived in the control room. It was similar to what Adrian had seen before, with a vast array of consoles and a window that opened up to a gigantic chamber where the mechs were kept. Professor Otaki was at the front center console, turning around as Yun entered with the trio, Jet Jaguar following behind.
"Ah, you're here!" he said, "Good, good! You're gonna like this!"
He gestured out the window, where Atlas Destroyer could be seen. Its armor plates had been removed, showing the inner wiring, where multiple workers could be seen, working on the inside.
"I didn't originally plan on doing much to this one" Otaki continued, "But after I saw it had absolutely zero weapons, I decided that that wasn't acceptable, so we'll be refitting it with all kinds of fun stuff: missiles, lasers, the works."
"Well," Taylor said, "It'll certainly be helpful against kaiju."
"What about Mechagodzilla?" Adrian asked.
Otaki got a wide grin, "Now THAT is the one I wanted to show you. Come with me."
The Professor led Adrian and Mei out onto a catwalk spanning the hangar. After walking past Atlas's station, they came to where Mechagodzilla was being held.
"Well, what do you think?" Otaki asked.
Mechagodzilla had gotten a complete makeover; it's armor was shiner and more streamlined. It's arms had been slightly shortened, though the clawed hands remained while the forearms had some kind of high-tech gauntlets on them. It's head was opened up as machines and workers were seen upgrading the AI brain, and the head itself seemed to look more angular. To top it off, Adrian could see two massive cannons on its shoulders.
"I hardly even recognize it" Adrian gasped.
Otaki chuckled, "Well, it'll be worth it. It has enough weapons in there to destroy a country. It's upgraded AI makes for smoother interfacing and faster reaction times. I even added a new experimental weapon in the chest which I call the Absolute Zero Cannon."
Mei smirked, "Now THIS I can get used to."
Otaki smiled. "I even decided to give it a new name; Mechagodzilla takes too long to say after a while."
Adrian gave the professor a quizzical look. "Oh? And what name would that be?"
"Only a name befitting for such a draconic robot." Otaki said.
"Kiryu."
…
Far over the Pacific Ocean, Megaguirus and Warbat were speeding towards Australia with all the speed they could. Warbat had tired out, leaving Megaguirus to carry it in her insectoid legs. They had found the one Anguirus mentioned, though he was none too happy about what they had told him upon finding him. Proof of that could be seen in the massive orange cloud following some distance behind the two Titans; Megaguirus could feel the intense heat radiating from it.
Below them in the ocean swan a second creature: this one resembling a spiky caterpillar with a horn that flashed with electricity. He had overheard what was going on in Australia…and he wanted a very big piece of the action before the King arrived to finish the job.
And the King was closing in very fast…
The King is coming, don't worry. Also, before anyone goes on me saying Kiryu is smaller than 2021 MechaG, don't concern yourself with that. Think of this as if Kiryu was in the Monsterverse. Finally, as for the two "natives" Madison mentioned, you'll meet them next chapter.
