So for those who don't know, there's some weird new update that has you turn on email notifications in your profile. Why this update exists, I have no idea, but y'all might need to switch the notifications on in your profile if you haven't already. It also lasts 90 days, so you may have to keep going back to turn it on. Just letting y'all know, and now back to the chapter.
The last thing Boy remembered was a hideous maw crashing through the ship he was on before going black. He had no idea what it was or if he was even dead...until he woke up.
His eye fluttered open, but all he could see was pitch blackness. At first he thought he was blind, but after a few moments, he began to feel something rather heavy on his head. No, he wasn't blind, something was blocking his vision. He tried to reach up and remove the object, but found his arms, as well as his legs, were held back by metal cuffs, holding him down onto some sort of chair. He could hear the whirring sounds of machinery around him, and then came the voices.
"It seems he is awake."
"Not to worry, not even the Kaiju Messiah can break out of those restraints."
"If I may ask, High Priestess, why him? Why not use any human?"
There was a sigh before the first voice, the one Boy assumed belonged to the so called 'High Priestess', continued. "I suppose it is fair I tell you the truth I found in him. He is both Kaiju and Human; designed by the Precursors."
"A spy to destroy humanity from within?"
"Not entirely." the High Priestess's voice turned grim, "As you know, Ghidorah usurped control of the kaiju from the Precursors before the Titans imprisoned him in ice. Kaiju are forced to obey his will, but not humans. So they created our Kaiju Messiah, and to throw off Ghidorah's power even more, well...it would be a little odd to control one with the DNA of your own kind."
The Kaiju Sister gasped. "You mean...he...?"
"The blood of Ghidorah flows through his veins. A kaiju blessed with an Alpha's power. A true weapon against the dragon. It would have worked too, had those foolish heathens not captured him first, and then those children brainwashing him. But we can now put all that aside; we have him here, and once his mind bonds with Ghidorah's, the Alpha will rise, but this time, under our control."
"Very good, High Priestess."
Just then, Boy could hear the sounds of someone running in, probably another Kaiju Sister. She seemed out of breath.
"He knows..." she panted, "He knows! HE KNOWS, AND HE'S COMING!"
"He found us..." the High Priestess growled. She should have seen it coming. They were well hidden, but Godzilla could find any Titan, no matter where they were on the planet. With the Gyaos and other secretive kaiju they were housing, it was only a matter of time before he found them. Even worse, now he had Kong and many other Titans backing him up.
"We cannot waste time any longer." she commanded, "Begin the connection!"
Boy began to struggle against his restraints as he began to feel the chair he was on begin to move. In truth it was being placed into a pod that fit right inside the mechanical center head of Mecha King Ghidorah. Boy growled, attempting to transform, but it was no use; something was preventing the change. Suddenly, before anything else, a blue flash erupted in front of his face as the drift with Ghidorah began.
Boy's roars of anger changed into cries of pain and terror as his mind mixed with that of the Titan's. His memories of his time with Hayley, Taylor, Adrian, and Mei were suddenly overwhelmed by dark thoughts of rage, cravings for destruction, Ghidorah's unending hunger for control and chaos that still burned deep inside his metal prosthetics. This was no longer a simple Drift. Ghidorah was proving to be the stronger of the two as his mind dominated Boy's. Boy was merely a battery now; as far as the Titan knew, Ghidorah was the one in control.
In the hangar, Mecha Ghidorah's body began to twitch and spark as the mechanical systems began to come online. The Kaiju Sisters watched in amazement, raising their arms simultaneously in a ritualistic gesture.
"Ghidorah!" The High Priestess called out, "The Planet Eater! One Who is Many! Devil with Three Heads! Hear us and rise! You once controlled the kaiju in your own conquest, and now we give you command of this army. In return, you will conquer this world for the Precursors! Destroy everyone in your path, including Godzilla."
It seemed the mention of his mortal enemy rushed Ghidorah's awakening. His left and right heads opened their eyes, giving off a sickening yellow glow. The center head's eyes flickered on, glowing a blue color. As they awoke, all three heads reared up and let loose a cry that was the Titan's roar mixed with the techno cries of the center head. Despite the hangar doors beings closed, Ghidorah's roar echoed for miles. Wandering kaiju that heard the call perked up attracted by the call and heading in its direction, but they weren't the only creatures that heard it.
He knew that roar all too well, but there was no way. He made sure that usurper was dead, and yet there it was again, that all too familiar cry. And with that cry, an untold amount of rage began to boil in Godzilla. Turning to the direction of the sound, he let loose a furious roar. Nearby, Kong and Okeneba backed away a bit in fear; both had seen Godzilla angry before, but this was something else; something worse. Without warning, Godzilla headed off in the direction of the roar. Kong and Okeneba followed close by, but as Kong followed, he could hear the cries of many other Titans almost moving in response to Godzilla's roar. He could hear Rodan and Battra's screeches from the west, Anguirus and Baragon from the north, and many others. The Titans were rallying to their King, having heard the new roar as well.
This roar had finally made it to the ears of Gamera, who, being nearly as old as Godzilla, recognized it as Ghidorah, but there was something off about it. no time to ponder it, he could already hear Godzilla and the other Titans on the move and knew he had to follow. Crouching down on the ground, Gamera retracted his legs into his shell, however, once he did, bursts of flame spewed forth from the holes like jet engines as the Titan lifted off the ground and flew in the direction, he figured the other Titans were heading. He knew all too well what was going on. The Titans were going to war.
...
Monarch Base
Sometime before Ghidorah's roar.
Adrian and Mei sat on their respective bunks in the living quarters they had been assigned to. Mei absentmindedly twirled a knife in her hands while Adrian laid back on his bed and flipped through some files on a tablet he had been allowed to get his hands on.
After a few moments of silence, Mei stopped twirling her knife and looked at Adrian. "Please tell me you found something interesting on that thing."
Adrian shook his head. "Nothing aside from a few different species. Nothing about Hollow Earth."
The way he said this last sentence made it seem he was angry, something Mei caught on to. "I'm guessing this frustrates you."
Adrian sat up. "I don't like it. They clearly know a lot about Hollow Earth, but won't give me access to any of it? Are they trying to hide something?"
"Or they probably don't trust you all that much. You did spend the last few years hacking their old computers in your spare time, after all."
Adrian gave Mei an irritated look. "They let me pilot a reborn Jaeger, but won't tell me about Hollow Earth?"
Mei shrugged as she walked over and sat down next to him. "Look, maybe that's not our biggest issue right now?"
Adrian sighed, his expression softening. "I know, but..." he groaned in exasperation as he put the tablet down, "I know we have to rest, but there's too much at stake right now!"
"Are you seriously beating yourself up over Boy's capture?" Mei asked in disbelief.
"We were right there, Mei. Right there! We could have, no, we should have helped!"
"Did you forget we were busy dealing with that asshole, Shane? Besides, there was way too much going on during that fight, no one blames you for Boy's capture, stop acting like all this is your fault."
Adrian sighed, still looking saddened. "But even before that, I found Mechagodzilla, which now has a mind of its own, and I've gotten all of us mixed up in this war. When I first dreamed of finding that mech, I was hoping it would just be you and me against the kaiju in an unstoppable killing machine. But now, realizing what's really at stake here..."
Mei wrapped an arm around her friend's shoulders, embracing him. "We were kids then. That's why we learn things. Besides, this war would have happened whether you had found Mechagodzilla or not. And face it, if you hadn't, we probably would still have been working under Shane or have just been standing on the sidelines while Trevor and Hayley did all the fighting. Heck, we may never have found Monarch or become Gypsy Danger's newest pilots!"
Adrian looked up at Mei, who smiled at him and continued. "All I'm saying is there still has been some good to come out of this. Don't let all the bad get to your head; you taught me that a long time ago."
Adrian managed a chuckle. "My own words used against me..."
The pair shared a laugh before alarms suddenly started blaring in the compound, startling them. Almost instinctively, they rushed to the control center, where it seemed everyone was on the verge of losing their minds, Hana Serizawa included.
"What's going on?" Adrian asked.
"It's much worse than we thought." Hana replied, "The good news is, we may know where Boy is being kept."
"And the bad news?" Mei demanded.
"The bad news is that every single Titan and kaiju in the Black is now heading straight for that area, Godzilla included."
"Mothra has also left" Miana said, standing nearby with her sister, "We could sense her thoughts, Godzilla is angry. He's calling all the Titans here to fight."
Adrian became nervous. "To fight what?"
Hana pointed to one of the larger monitors that showed a map of the Black, with dotted lines showing all the Titans' movements heading towards one remote spot in the north, a spot that showed a growing surge of energy.
"That" Hana said, "is coming from what we are assuming is the hideout of the Kaiju Sisters. However, this is no Kaiju signature...it's much worse."
"Define worse" Mei said.
This time, Maina stepped forward. "There is only one thing that could provoke Godzilla to such rage."
Adrian was both thankful and regretful he had looked into the Titans' files, because he knew the answer almost immediately, and it filled him with dread.
"Ghidorah..."
...
The defenses around the canyons leading to the Sisters' hideout had never come under such a barrage. It all started as a looming shadow followed by a vibrant blue glow before many guards were suddenly vaporized by Godzilla's atomic blasts as the King himself smashed through the rock, tearing through everything in his path. The closer he got, the stronger the scent of his foe became, and the more his rage grew. Even then, those who survived Godzilla's attacks were quickly crushed under the fists of Kong or snapped up by Okeneba. Other roars could be heard as other Titans arrived. Baragon and Anguirus ran atop the cliffs, smashing through watchtowers. Rodan, Mothra, Megaguirus, and Battra flew overhead, with Mothra's god rays lighting a path through the dark canyons and scaring off the Rippers hiding within.
Eventually, Godzilla broke through to the other side, a steaming trail of destruction behind him as he emerged into a wider clearing in the canyons, where a rising storm cloud was emerging from the ground. Yellow lightning crackled around it as Mecha King Ghidorah appeared, all three heads narrowing their eyes at Godzilla. Godzilla did the same, and angry growl emitting from his throat as his Titan army flanked him, roaring their own challenge. However, those roars were returned by the cries of the kaiju Ghidorah had called, who appeared from the other side of the canyons, flanking their new alpha.
Both armies faced each other for several tense moments as dark storm clouds, these ones more natural in appearance, gathered overhead. These kaiju led by his old enemy was a sight Godzilla had seen long enough. Raising his body to its full height, and with his dorsal spines flashing blue, Godzilla roared in command, sending the Titans forth into battle as he ran alongside them. Ghidorah followed suit with his own roar before flying ahead of the charging kaiju. Within moments, the two armies collided into a battle that would shake the very earth around them...
Sorry for the late entry. I know a lot of you were asking about when the next chapter would be released. I had a lot going on since I am now on a college campus and wasn't able to get this done as soon as I hoped. All I can say for future chapters is to be patient. I haven't forgotten the storyand I will get to it as soon as I can. Thank you!
Let me know what you think so far!
