Ok, so I've seen recent reviews since the last time I posted, and can I just say how surprised I am at how much support this story has gotten? I mean, wow! I won't say any names, but y'all's support means a lot and I appreciate it. Also, I am very, very, VERY sorry about these long periods of time between posts. I know y'all are excited to see what happens next, and I've gotten plenty of question about if it will get updated. I've been busy, but I get to this when I can. Anyways, I've said my piece, now back to the story.
Adrian seemed to be the only one excited when he and Mei rushed into the control room. They had been called there after alarms started blaring in the compound; both knew something had happened.
"Finally," he shouted over the noise, "Something to do!"
"The heck is going on now!?" Mei demanded.
The two were then stunned to see that Hana looked the most frightened they had ever seen her.
"It's good and bad" the Monarch scientist managed to say, "The good news is that we found Boy along with where the Kaiju Sisters are hiding. The bad news is that Godzilla did too, and now things have heated up."
She pointed to a monitor displaying a thermal view of the area, but all they could see was a massive, storm cloud like blob as Hana continued. "As for that...well, there was only one Titan that created a cloud like that."
Adrian's face blanched in fear. He had seen the file for that particular beast. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough to terrify him now. "Wait...he's back!? B-but that's impossible!"
"I hope we are both wrong" Hana said. "Godzilla's called the other Titans as well, and now it's a massive battle. Apex, Mechagodzilla, and Gigan are already on the way, but we need all Jaegers en route to the area now. We cannot let those Sisters get away. Apex and Moguera are already on the way, and you will be heading out with Jet Jaguar."
Mei saluted. "Say no more. Adrian?"
Adrian was breathing quickly, and it took Mei shaking him by the shoulders to get him to calm down.
"Hey! Get it together!" she shouted.
Adrian shook his head. "Right. Right. Let's go
After that, the two sprinted towards the hangar, where Gypsy Danger lay waiting.
...
Apex, Mechagodzilla, and Gigan arrived at what could only be described as an earth-shaking battle...literally. Everywhere the three could see, kaiju and Titans alike were being thrown left and right in their battle. Kong could be seen ripping the jaws of a Raiju apart, Okeneba tearing at its chest. Baragon and Anguirus had teamed up on one poor Acid Quill, with Anguirus pinning it to a cliff wall while Baragon roasted it alive with his fire breath. Rodan, Megaguirus, Battra, and Mothra were busy in the skies hacking, slashing, and blasting any airborne kaiju in sight to the point where it was practically raining kaiju blood; something which both Gigan and Battra were very happy to see. However, there was a newcomer the three bio mechs had not seen before; a giant, tusked turtle of some kind that was fighting off a Scunner, the two monsters wrestling as the turtle grabbed the kaiju by the horns to keep it at bay before swinging it around into a cliff. It seemed like a massacre, but the bio mechs knew the real fight was happening inside the giant cyclone close by to the battle. Flashes of yellow and blue could be seen, showing the silhouettes of the two Alpha combatants inside.
Sensing a potential bloodbath, Gigan let out a war cry before briefly taking to the skies and then dive-bombing an unsuspecting Leatherback, driving his blades into the kaiju's back and reveling in its cries of pain. Apex and Mechagodzilla also dove into the fight, and though the other Titans were at first confused by the newcomers, it soon became clear they weren't a threat and returned their attention to their real enemy. However, none of the monsters were aware of the earth beginning to quake violently underneath the force of their brawl.
...
It was some time after the cyborgs arrive that the Jaegers arrived to the scene; each one struggling to retain their balance as the winds became more ferocious the closer they got.
Inside the cockpit of Gypsy Danger, Adrian and Mei strained against another gust of wind before Adrian hailed the other pilots. "I don't think we can go any further. These winds are getting crazy!"
"Guys!" Hailey's voice came over the coms from Atlas Destroyer, "Up ahead!"
All the mechs came to a stop as the noticed the cyclone ahead, having grown far larger than earlier. They could see a flash of blue and yellow before two angered roars sounded out in unison, coming from within. Rodan, Battra, and other monsters could be seen flying around it, locked in bloody combat.
Adrian's mouth was agape at the sight of the vortex. "So that's what two gods fighting looks like."
Jet Jaguar drove his spear into the ground to steady himself before motioning towards the cyclone to the other mechs. It was clear he wanted to press on.
"He's right." Hayley said, "Boy's somewhere in there. I'm not giving up on him!"
"We're not even sure if he's alive in there!" Taylor argued.
"He's right, Hayley." Ford said from Moguera, "I love your determination, but we can't get much farther with that cyclone out there. It's a miracle the titans in there are managing to stay on their feet."
"NO!" Hayley's voice came back almost instantly, "We've come this far already. I'm not giving up on him!"
Taylor simply sighed, there seemed to be no changing her mind. With the sibling's minds in agreement, Atlas surged forward again, making slow but steady progress. Noticing their advance, Jet Jaguar moved to follow.
Mei looked to Adrian, "Well?"
Truth be told, she knew what his decision was before he said anything, a benefit of the drift.
Adrian gritted his teeth. "Can't let them have all the fun, I guess."
Gypsy shuddered as it began to follow Atlas and Jet towards the battle. Moguera seemed reluctant to follow, but eventually began to press on with the rest.
They had just reached to edge of the battlefield before Hayley heard a woman's voice in her head, Watch out!
Atlas looked up just in time to see a Quetzacoatl fall from the sky, crashing into the Jaeger and knocking it to the ground. Temporarily stunned, Atlas woozily looked at the kaiju carcass pinning it down, just to see Mothra land on top of it.
Apologies, you came at a rather rough time, and I didn't see you until the last second. Mothra's voice rang in the pilots' heads. The corpse then shuddered as it was pulled off, revealing Apex standing there before it helped the slightly larger Jaeger back on its feet. The other mechs had already entered the battle; Gypsy danger fired into the back of a Copperhead with its plasma cannon while Mogera and Jet Jaguar teamed up on another Leatherback alongside Varan.
"Looks like everyone's busy." Taylor said.
Hayley nodded in agreement, "Now let's go get Boy."
As the Jaeger turned toward the ruins of what was the Kaiju Sisters' hideout, it's scanners suddenly picked up multiple humans still there. Sure enough, The High Priestess and three other Sisters could be seen hiding under rubble, managing to avoid the brunt of the winds.
Taylor's eyes narrowed, "Let's start by asking them."
The Sisters were so preoccupied with the battle raging between Godzilla and Ghidorah inside the cyclone that they didn't notice the Jaeger until its hand slammed down close to them. High Priestess's head whipped around as her subordinates shouted in fear.
Hayley's voice came out loud and stern over Atlas's speakers. "Where is he? What did you do to Boy?!"
The High Priestess snarled in disgust, recognizing the Jaeger "You're too late, heretic. The Kaiju Messiah has already been reunited with our king. He will have your false ruler dead soon."
"He's in the cyclone?" Taylor gasped.
"But that doesn't make sense." Hayley said, "Boy surrendered to Godzilla. Why turn on him now?"
The Priestess seemed to hear their thoughts, "How do you think he was created? Did you think the Precursors would just use any kaiju's DNA for such a project. No, they wanted something truly powerful along with it, something that has given this planet's tyrant a true challenge."
The realization settled in hard on the siblings. Boy was part Ghidorah.
Suddenly, a screech echoed as a Gyaos divebombed the Jaeger, knocking it to the ground as the two combatants wrestled with each other. Eventually, Atlas managed to wrap its chain weapon around the Gyaos's neck, decapitating it with a swift pull of the chain. As it managed to stand back up, Hayley's face became a mixture of anger and worry.
"We need to get into that cyclone and get Boy out of there!" she said.
Just as Taylor was about to yell at her and tell her she was truly crazy for thinking that was even possible, the ground beneath them gave a violent heave. It was so great that most of the other monsters around them paused; it was much more violent than the rumblings before.
Gypsy looked to the ground as Adrian groaned, "Please don't let that be Biollante again."
The Jaeger's scan of what was under the ground showed something even worse. The ground underneath them was completely hollow, and the force of so many monsters fighting in one place had made it too unstable. Cracks were already forming around everyone's feet.
Kong realized what was happening and roared a warning to his fellow Titans.
"We have to get out of here!" Ford yelled as Moguera turned to flee, only for its feet to begin sinking, unable to escape. This same thing began happening with some of the other monsters as well.
Mei's look was one of pure horror, something Adrian rarely saw, but it was enough for him to quickly hail the others.
"Everyone hang on!" Adrian shouted just as the entire ground caved in, sending both monsters and mechs tumbling into the void below. Godzilla was not safe from this either, but, realizing what was going on, he looked up at his old nemesis, his mechanical parts sparking from the battle, but was still airborne; which the Titan king was not going to allow. Charging up a final blast, he sent a ray of atomic fire right through Mecha-Ghidorah's mechanical wing. The cyborg titan shrieked in pain and fear as it fell into the chasm. Within moments, every monster on the ground had been sucked into the chasm. Frightened, Mothra dove in after them, spreading her wings, which glowed with a radiant shine as she attempted to spread a protective blessing over her titan and human friends. To her surprise, Battra followed, adding his own power to the spell. Rodan and the other flying Titans followed as well, attempting to see where everything was going, and Rodan was still raring for some slaughter.
Meanwhile, Gypsy held itself out in a skydiver pose, attempting to slow its fall as much as possible. Inside, Adrian and Mei clenched their teeth as their guts rose with that feeling one would usually get from falling. Suddenly, Mei, felt something grab her free hand, and looked to see Adrian holding on to her hand tightly with his own free hand.
Seeing she had noticed, Adrian managed a nervous smile before something up ahead caught his eye, and he turned his head before Mei could say anything. A blue, swirling portal lay ahead of them, and they were quickly falling towards it.
The two braced themselves as the Jaeger slammed into the vortex, and then everything went white.
So ends the Surface Arc of the story.
Let me know what you think so far!
