A/N: do you think that i own Percy and his friends? You better not. All I own is Ky, she is my FOR THE READ!

"U-uh, I um-" was all Ky could say as she faced her Praetor , who had a playful grin on her face as she saw that Ky was uncomfortable. "I-i.. Praetor Reyna! What an.. unexpected surprise!" Ky exclaimed. Reyna just chuckled and sat down. "Packing can wait. Tell me now, who is this flamma?" She said with a wink. Ky sighed, knowing that Reyna would never let this go. She was too much of a.. Roman. "Fine. You want the short version, or the long one?" Ky finally said, sitting down. "Long." She sighed again. This was going to take awhile. "Okay, so first up, you need to know this: my flamma is Leo, but he has no clue, so don't go blabbing. Second, I'm supposed to meet him in the woods in an hour. So, we're going with the regular version." Reyna nodded eagerly as Ky sighed yet again. "Okay..it started on the Argo II, when he actually started to treat me like a normal person. He asked me for help, ect. I was kinda the person that stayed in the shadows, the kind you never see around until you meet them and realize they had been there for a year. Leo accidentally ran into me in the hallway, literally, as I was going to steal a book of mine back from Percy, who took it and told me to, and I quote, 'make new friends and stop with the books'. According to him, I was antisocial, but if you ask me, I was just annoyed with people." At this point, Reyna was stretched out on Ky's bed, and she gave a nod of approval at this. Ky checked the time. She still had 45 minutes before she had to meet Leo, so she continued with the story. "Me and Leo bumped into each other pretty often after that."

(("Well, I'm guessing that you are Percy's sister? He told me he was taking you along, but he never introduced me. I'm Leo, by the way." "Kyra. Everyone calls me Ky." "Well, nice to meet you, Ky. Where you headed?"

"Annabeth's room. She has a ton of books. After that, the engine room. I like finding random stuff to build out of." )) "Leo was obviously surprised." Reyna cut in. "Ky. 20 minutes. Speed it up." "Sorry! I realized I liked him about a month ago, but I shoved it down so I could focus. This trip was my last chance, because he's going to try to find Calypso soon, and he'll fall in love with her, and I'll be forgotten. Which is okay. But still." Ky finally finished with a large breath. Reyna still seemed to be processing. "Okay. I know what to do. You have been flirting, yes?" Ky nodded. "Good. He is obviously flirting back, so I say you make your move in.." Reyna checked her watch. "Ten minutes. Ready?" "Mmhm.." "Good. Now go!" She finished, and shoved Ky out the door.

Leo waited impatiently for Ky. She was late. She was never late. He finally spotted her walking through the trees, and messed up his hair, which had twigs in it, so that she would notice. The first thing he noticed that was different was her outfit. Instead of her usual jeans and t-shirt, today she wore black sporty shorts, a blue tank top, and black Converse. It made him feel slightly self- conscious of his old t-shirt and overalls, but made her stand out a little bit. The second thing he noticed was that she had done her hair. It was subtle, but noticeable. Her long, brown hair was lightly curled, and he noticed that she had added ocean-blue highlights to her hair, which made her brown eyes pop. She walked up to him, smiling. He was absolutely speechless. Leo had had a crush on her for a while, for about 2 months, actually. "Hey, Leo. You okay?" She asked when she saw how hard he was blushing. "U-um wanagegoignow?" He stuttered. "Flamma, I can't understand you. Are you okay?" She asked, seeming genuinely worried. Leo swallowed hard. "I'm fine. Ready to go?" He asked, pretending he wasn't almost sick to the stomach with nerves. "Sure! Oh, by the way Leo, your hair is on fire." She said, and walked in the direction of the small lake. Leo quickly patted out his hair and followed. He caught up with Ky as she was stepping into the clearing where the lake was, seeing her looking at the sky and canopy above them. "Pretty, right?" He said softly, looking up as well. Ky hummed. "Yeah. Almost as pretty as the beach at Camp Half Blood." She said calmly, breaking her gaze and looking at him instead. Suddenly, she grabbed his hand and started running toward the water. Leo was yanked from his calm state by the feeling of cold water. He felt Ky let go of his hand to swim. That's when he realized that he couldn't breathe. He started to swim toward the surface, when he suddenly felt air around his head. Ky had put an air bubble! He gave her a nod of thanks, and went back to shore. It took about 5 minutes for Ky to head back to shore. Meanwhile, Leo tried to figure out what flamma meant. It sounded a lot like flame, but he couldn't be sure. "I'll ask Reyna once we're back." He decided. "Ask Reyna what?" Ky said, coming out of the water. "Um, nothing, just gonna ask her how to say something in Latin." Leo said. It was the truth, after all. Just not the full truth. "Ask me, silly! I know a lot of Latin." She laughed. Leo loved that laugh. He sighed. "Fine. How do you say friend in Latin?" He asked nervously. "Amica. Now, anything else? I wanna show you something I found yesterday." Ky said excitedly. Leo sighed. "Nope. Let's go." "Perfect, come on!" She said happily, and ran off into the forest.

"Flamma, are you sure you're alright? You're very red." Ky said worriedly while sitting next to Leo. "mmhm yep fine just fine why?" He said quickly. Does this have to do with earlier? If so, I'm really sorry-" she was cut off by Leo. "Yes. Don't be sorry. It was just an accident after all. It's fine." He sort of whispered, blushing even harder.

((*earlier* Leo was sitting on a ledge, with Ky upside down above him. They were both looking at each other when Ky fell on top of him, their lips meeting accidentally. They both toppled to the ground, and from there on out, Leo was a bit messed up. Not physically. Mentally. That scene kept replaying in his mind while Ky tried to ignore what happened, when in reality, she just hid her blush better.))

Leo was still shocked. Sure, it was an accident, but they had kissed. For real! That was his first kiss. He knew it didn't count, but it had happened.

She couldn't believe it. She had kissed Leo Valdez. Her mind was a jumble as she tried to figure out what to do next. Leo Valdez! Her best friend, crush, and camp-wide flirt! Her best friend stole her first kiss. Ky was never going to tell him this, but she was still in a rather panicked state. Leo. She had to check on Leo. She looked around to find him sitting against a tree, and went over to see if he was okay. "Leo? You alright?" She asked, blushing a bit. "Yep. Fine. Mhm." Was all he said. "Flamma, are you sure? You're very red." "mmhm. Yep. I'm fine." Ky hesitated for a moment before offering a hand to help him up. "We should probably get back. I'm sure Argus is here by now." Leo nodded timidly and accepted her hand. He didn't let go at first until Ky glanced down and blushed. When he did let go of her hand, she was a bit disappointed. Leo noticed, but didn't do anything.

He kissed her. He held her hand. What was going on today? Not to mention that she looked disappointed when he let go of her hand. He really hoped his face wasn't as red as it felt.

When they reached the cabins, the two split up to get their stuff. When Ky saw that Reyna was sitting on her bed, she sighed for the seventh time that day. "So. Tell me everything. Now." Reyna demanded, waiting for the story. "Fine. We kissed." "EEEEE! How? Where? What happened?" Reyna spouted off the questions eagerly. "Okay, one, loud, two, it was an accident, three,by the large oak tree, and four, I accidentally fell on top of him." Ky answered. Reyna rolled her eyes. "Boring! Anything else?" Ky thought for a minute. "Nope. But I think I broke Leo. He's been blushing like mad." "He totally likes you, Ky. For sure. Just ask him out already!" Ky blushed again. "No way! He's my best friend. I am NOT going to risk that. I'll do a secret admirer thing. He'll never know. Then, in a few weeks, we'll meet and he'll know it was me." Ky said. This had been her plan for awhile. She was going to ask Nyssa to put a letter on his nightstand when he was asleep, but she decided against it. Besides, she already had a key to Leo's cabin. What could go wrong? Little did she know, said boy was listening at the door the whole time. "Reyna, I have to go. I'll keep you updated though." Reyna sighed. "I'm gonna miss you, Ky. Visit again soon?" She asked. "Of course! How about in a couple months. Next time, I'll stay for longer!" Reyna nodded. "See ya soon!" "See ya." Leo took this as his cue to leave.

When Ky walked out of her cabin, Leo acted like he was about to walk up. "Hey! You ready?" she asked. Leo nodded. "Yep. Argus should be here soon. You got everything?" "Yeah, Reyna has my books. You got all the tools?" he nodded again. "cool." They sat in an awkward silence for a while, until Argus pulled up. They put their bags in the trunk, and hopped in. At the last minute, Frank and Hazel ran up. "Hey, Leo. Can we talk to Ky for a sec?" "Why are you asking me?" "... no reason." Hazel said. They took Ky out of earshot, so the only thing he could hear was Ky yelling "WHAT?!" and Frank shushing her.

"WHAT?!" Ky yelled, freaked out. "Shh! He might hear you!" Frank shushed. "I'm sorry, but Octavian? Really? You must have gotten it mixed up. He hates me!" "Sorry, Ky, that's just what we heard." Hazel said, shrugging. Ky sighed for the tenth time. "I'll be right back." she said, and walked off to tell Leo something.

"Hey, flamma. I'll be right back, okay? I have to go punch Octavian." she said angrily. "Apparently, he has a crush on me." Ky shuddered. Leo paled. "I might just go punch him myself.." he said to himself. "Leo. Wanting to kill Octavian is my job right now, okay? I'll be right back." "Okay. I'll stall for you." Ky smiled. "Thanks, flamma." She said, and ran off to go find Octavian. Once she left, Leo sighed. "I wish you knew.."

Ky found Octavian in the temple, as always, ripping open stuffed animals as always. She stormed in, furious at him. "OCTAVIAN!" She yelled. He looked toward her. She immediately noticed he had the nerve to blush! "ME AMAS!?" "Uh- I um.. yes?" He stuttered. "Stultus! Mensem manere, et stolidam machinam enucleare!?" She yelled.

(That roughly translates to: YOU LIKE ME? Idiot! I stay a month, and you develop a stupid crush!?) "Jeez, I'm sorry! Kinda hard not to when you're the prettiest girl around here, and the only one that's nice to me!" He yelled back. Ky sighed. "Look, Octavian, I'm sorry, but you just can't! You know I can't like you back." "I know. That's why I tried to hide it, keep it secret, but I guess that secret got out. I'm sorry, Ky." He said, looking back to what he was doing. Ky walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder. When he turned around, she hugged him. "I'm the one that should be sorry. I didn't realize." When she released the hug and left, she left behind a very flustered Octavian, holding a half torn Care Bear stuffed animal. "See you later!" Ky called over her shoulder. "B- bye."

"So? How was it? I don't see any blood." Leo asked as soon as Ky got back. "That's cuz I didn't hit him. He's actually kinda nice." Ky said, looking back at the temple. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IT'S OCTAVIAN, FOR GODS SAKES! HE'S EVIL!" "Leo! Calm down. It's nothing huge. I just think that he's being nicer, that's all. And, apparently, I'm the only one that's nice to him." She said with a look. "Fine. I'll be nicer to.. Octavian." Leo said with a disgusted look. "Thank you. Now, let's go home!"

Percy waited anxiously at the top of half blood hill, watching for Argus' white minivan to come rolling up. He had been there for over an hour, and it was far past lunchtime. He and Annabeth were both preparing for Kyra's arrival. They had prepared a special surprise for her in their shared cabin, and Percy was excited to show her. Right at that moment, Ky IM'd him. "Hey Perce! I'm on the way, I promise. There was a slight detour. Be there soon! Leo, stop! Aah! Haha! I'll see you soon. Leo!" The IM was cut off. Percy sighed. Sounded like she was having fun. He went back to sitting in the tree and waiting.

"Leo! Stop it! Eehaha!" Ky yelled in the backseat as he tickled her. "Stop! I'm serious, quit it!" She yelled at him. "Okay, jeez. Sorry." Leo said, immediately withdrawing to his seat. Ky sighed. "Sorry I snapped at you, flamma. I was just annoyed." Leo relaxed. "It's fine." They sat in silence before arriving at Camp. Once all their stuff was out of the car, Argus drove off to park behind the Big House.

"KY! YOU'RE FINALLY BACK!" Percy yelled as soon as he saw his little sister. Ky chuckled. "Yes, Percy, I'm back. Good to see you too." Said boy quickly embraced her in a tight hug, as if she would disappear. "I missed you, Kyra." he muttered into her shoulder. "Ego quoque vos desiderabat, Percy."

(Translates to: I missed you too, Percy.)

"Your Latin is getting better. Have you been practicing?" "Of course. I can't let those lessons go to waste!" Ky exclaimed. "Good. Say something else in Latin, then." Percy requested. Ky thought for a moment. "Okay. Quaeso me intro, Percy. Fessus sum!" "What's that mean?" He asked. "Please let me go inside, Percy. I'm tired!" "Ah. Okay. C'mon then. Close your eyes though." Ky got a slightly suspicious look. "Why? There better not be some new pet of yours on my bed!" She said, as Percy had a habit of finding creatures and bringing them back to the cabin. He rolled his eyes. "Don't worry, there isn't. I hope. Just close your eyes!" Ky did as he asked, although reluctantly. Percy summoned water to help guide her to the cabin, even though she knew the path like the back of her hand. When she opened the door, Ky saw.. a new bookshelf! Her Brother knew of her love for reading, she talked about books everyday, so he decided to have the Hephaestus kids make her a new, improved bookshelf. It had a snack tray, unfolding displays for her favorite books, and kinda looked like those shelves in a library, only better. Ky whirled around, hugging Percy tightly. "Eee! Thank you so much Percy! This is amazing!" She squealed. She let go of her brother, then looked around for Annabeth, whom she spotted on the way over. "I'm guessing you helped, because my dear brother cannot for the life of him stay focused on anything for longer than five minutes, if that." Annabeth nodded and chuckled. "Yep," she said, popping the 'P' at the end of the word. "Sure did. He might have the brawn, but not the brains!" At this, Percy pouted. "Cmon Annie, you know that's not true," he whined. She glared at him. "Never. Again." She said, threatening him. He held his hands up in surrender. "Heard and understood. Love you!" he said. Annabeth sighed. "Love you too, Seaweed Brain." Percy beamed at this. Ky looked at the two curiously, wondering what had happened while she was gone. "Oookay. I'm heading inside, Reyna said to call her when i got back." she said, walking back inside her cabin. Once she had put up all her stuff, she went to the fountain and tossed a denarii into the rainbow it made. "Oh, Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please show me Reyna Avila Ramirez Arellano in Camp Jupiter." she said, remembering to ask nicely for the sake of her future communications. Reyna's image soon appeared in front of her. "Hey! So, have you tried it yet?" Reyna asked immediately. Kyra sighed. "THAT'S your first question? Not 'hey, what's up, how was the trip,' or even ' hey, how does it feel to be back' . And to answer your question, no I haven't. I just got here." Reyna rolled her eyes. "FIIINE. I still think you should do it tonight, by the way." she said. Ky huffed. "Alright, alright. If he's at the fire, then I'll sneak away and slide it under his pillow. Now, I gotta go. It's almost dinnertime. Bye RARA!" she said, and before Reyna could comment on the nickname, she cut the message.
