Percy
"Oh, uh, hello Logos."
I wasn't expecting to meet a giant silver alien robot that looked just like Soundwave. But, in demigod dreams, a lot can happen,
"So, I presume you have quite a few questions, Perseus?" Logos asked.
I sputtered, "Yeah, actually. First, what... was that?" as I pointed behind me.
"You mean your dreams?"
"Uh, yeah. Can you tell me what that was all about?"
"Well, I cannot explain much, except that the Lightbringer does strange things at times.
"And… who's the Lightbringer?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, I cannot tell you."
"Okay... well, any reason I'm here?"
"That I can tell you. They have left a message for you. It's in the locker by the South wing entrance."
"Well, thanks."
"No worries, Perseus."
I walked over to where Logos pointed, trying to find the locker. Although, I did catch a glimpse of Logos twitch and flicker. For a moment, he was gray and yellow instead of silver. I looked back at him completely, only to see nothing out of the ordinary.
I decided to brush it off as I walked over to the South wing. Thankfully, there were signs in Greek, so I wasn't lost. As I got there, I saw a locker that was definitely out of place.
The locker's colors were a mix of black and a weird shade of yellow. I saw a sign at the top, but couldn't read it for the life of me. I guess that was in English. It had what looked like a card slot, with a strange keycard-looking thingy on a table next to it.
I walked up to the locker and table, looking to grab the card. Next to it was a note that said, 'For Percy.'
"Looks like this is it," I muttered as I picked up the card. I slid it into the slot, and the locker shot open as a female voice said, "Brought to you by GENT." with a jingle.
I jumped back a bit, startled by what happened. I quickly regained my composure as I looked at what was in the locker. I saw a bag of snacks, some tokens, batteries, and a laptop case.
I took the laptop case out of the locker and had a good look at it. It looked modern, newer than everything else in that locker. I opened it to see a laptop, a mouse, a charger, and a few USB drives, along with another note.
I took the note out to read it first. Again, like the other note, it was written in Greek. The note read, 'This laptop has a specil VPN that prevents monsters from tracking demigods for it. So don't worry about using it."
I had to do a double-take of the note. Sure enough, 'special' was spelled 'specil'. I had no idea whether it was either a spelling mistake or intentional. Either way, I just put the note back as I pulled out the laptop. I opened it, pressed the power button, and a grand total of nothing happened.
I was confused. Did I get here too late? Did the Lightbringer just not charge it? Either way, the laptop wouldn't turn on.
As I was fiddling with it, something bumped into my head. I swerved around to see where it came from, but nothing was there. I looked at what it was, and it was a paper airplane. I saw that there was some writing on it, but it was blocked by the folds.
I picked it up off the ground and unfolded it. The new note read, 'It won't turn on until you wake up, dumbass."
I muttered, "What the..." as I looked around again. I knew the Lightbringer was there because Logos seemed way too polite to call me that. Besides, I doubt he could write that small.
I looked at the laptop again, shrugged, and just put it and the new note back in the case. I just held it under my arms, got up, and walked away. I considered helping myself to the snacks until I noticed that they expired 30 years ago. No thank you, disease.
I walled back to the courtyard where I got in. I saw Logos sitting down and staring at the ground, muttering incoherent nonsense. Something about some... matrix?
I walked up to him and asked, "Um... Logos? You good?"
He seemed to be shaken out of a trance as he suddenly looked at me. "What? Oh, Perseus. I am fine. I take it you've found what the Lightbringer left for you?"
"Yep. So, how do I get back?"
"Well, you need to wake up. Exactly how is the question... wait. Hold still."
I froze for a bit. "What? What is it?"
I couldn't see under his faceplate, but I swear he had a cheeky grin as he said, "You're waking up," looking somewhere behind me."
I barely had time to turn around and process it. I was barely able to see an egg coming at me at like Mach 10. The split second it hit me, I woke up.
I shot out of bed, confused and with egg yolk on my face. 'Wait, egg yolk?'
I wiped the stuff off my face, and sure enough, it was egg yolk. There were even bits of eggshell on there too.
I muttered "Disgusting" as I went to clean myself off. That was when I noticed the laptop case on my bed stand.
After I got all the egg off, I went back and opened the case. I got out the laptop and mouse. I left the charger, as I guessed it was already charged.
Sure enough, I was right. The laptop turned on, and I got to the sign-in screen. I suddenly remembered that I didn't know what the password was. I looked at the notes in the case, and the one that came with the case had the sign-in information.
I entered it in, and it automatically went to some strange browser that didn't exist, at least not in my world. Thankfully, it was in Greek, so I could read it. I moved the cursor and clicked on the search bar. The message, 'What do you wanna know, Perce?' came up.
I decided, since the laptop was probably magical or something, I decided I'd type like I was talking. I asked, 'What were those dreams about?'
It responded, 'Think of those dreams as a teaser for what's next.'
'Okay...' I typed, 'Anything else?'
It answered, 'After breakfast, tell Annabeth to ask Soundwave to try to open a portal to Cybertron, if she doesn't already do it herself. Also, ask a certain Latino to do a checkup on Soundwave. You'll understand later."
"Okay. Thanks." I verbally responded. I shut the laptop, put it and the mouse in the case, shut it, and got ready. I went to get a new set of clothes, swiped a pillow and some sheets not stained with egg for my bed, and walked out to breakfast.
