Chapter 58: The League's Final Challenge! Vs. Champion Steven!
The following morning, Michael was casually eating breakfast due to his battle with Steven wouldn't be until tomorrow. Thanks to the day off, Michael had decided to let Swampert take a break from his training as well. Swampert had made amazing progress during the training anyway. Speaking of Swampert, Michael noticed him and Delcatty walking into the dining room.
Michael - "Morning you two."
Swampert/Delcatty - "Morning Michael."
Michael - "Swampert. Can you come here a sec. I need to talk with you about something."
Swampert kissed Delcatty, then walked over to Michael.
Swampert - "What is it Michael?"
Michael - "Well…"

Michael woke up early, making sure he had everything ready for his final battle in Hoenn.
Michael - "To be honest, I'd be lying to myself if I said that I WASN'T very nervous right now. But I can't let that stop me. I've come too far to fail now!"
He then joined the others for breakfast, who were just as eager to cheer Michael on for his final battle. After everyone ate, they all made their way over to the central stadium. Michael was then escorted out to the battlefield. There he found Steven and Audrey waiting for him.
Steven - "Welcome, Michael. I was hoping I would get to see you make it here one day. Tell me… What have you seen on your journey with your Pokémon? What have you felt, meeting so many other Trainers out there? Traveling this rich land of Hoenn… Has it awoken something inside you? I want you to come at me with all that you've learned. My Pokémon and I will respond in turn with all that we know! Let it begin!"
Audrey - "This is a 6-on-6 Hoenn League Championship battle between defending Champion Steven Stone and Challenger Michael Masi of Pokémon Island! The battle will continue until all Pokémon on one side are knocked out. Are both Trainers ready?"
Both Trainers activated their Battle Disks.

Everyone was shocked as Empoleon jumped back, landing next to Michael as his older brother took his place.

Delcatty - "Have faith in your brother Empoleon. Besides, Michael WOULDN'T have brought Swampert out if he didn't either."
Empoleon - "You're right. Go big bro!"
Delcatty - "You got this sweetheart!"
