Little something that I had written a while back. Felt like it didn't fit for a full-length story. Pull It back out and rewrote it a little made it into one short. This story took place way before Roman joined the WWE. He was a young wolf in his early Twenties. Who is on a road trip for the pack.

Roman sits in the passage seat of the car. Looking at the storm that is going on right now. What was he even thinking when he agree to this favor for his father? Asking him a week ago drive to texas for pack business. He was all in right away and planning on taking Jey and Jimmy along with him making it a guys trip as well. But his father had other plans.
I going to bring Jey and Jimmy with me. Don't worry we go and take care of this and make sure that the pack is protected. Roman said sitting in his father's den at his parent's house.
His father asked him to go to Texas. To help take care of a problem with one of the local packs. Who came to town a few weeks ago. Gotten in a fight with some of the wolves in their pack. Who was at a bar one night sending them to the hospital? When Roman heard about what happened. He and a few other packmates wanted to go. Track them down and put them in the hospital.
His father stops them right before they were about to pull out of the driveway. Telling them that he takes care of it but not starting an all-out war. Roman waited a whole week to see what his father would do. His father had planned a sit down with their alaph Aaron to work things out.
No Jey and Jimmy won't be going with you said Sika looking at his son.
Who do you want me to take Leo and Alex? Roman asked Who tell by the look on his father's face. Whoever his father wanted to take along with him. He won't like it at all.
He small a scent he hasn't smelled in a while. Roman was about turn around to comfort the person with the scent. When he heard a voice that he know will well.
I will be going with you.
Roman turns around seeing a man around his age with brown hair. That looks like he got cut recently six foot seven two hundred and seventy-five pounds. This man's-wolf is very strong like Roman wolf is. If wasn't for the scent that he smelled from the man he wouldn't know it was him.
''Damont.''
''It's been five years since we saw each other AnoaŹ»i. I can see that you live with your parents now'' Damont said with a smirk on his face.
''Damont I can see you haven't changed at all.''
Roman has been knowing Damont since he was in the fifth grade. He bullied him, Jey, and Jimmy when they were kids all away into high school. The last time he had seen Damont was at a graduation party that the pack had for them. Since then he hasn't seen him around. The last thing Roman had heard was that he was living in Miami with Caleb. He also heard that Damont lost a lot of weight over between 40 and 50lbs. Since he had stopped playing football two years ago.
''I not taking him no way.''
Fine Anoa'i I go by myself then. I don't need any backup anyway.
''So you can make things worst no way Damont,'' Roman said know well that Damont goes by himself we be getting a huge hospital bill that the pack will have to pay.
If you go by yourself there alpha Aaron will walk all over you. Those wolves that attack our packmates will get away from what they did. Or they will put you in the hospital next.
''You think I can't handle it? Do you think I can't take care of myself when I get in a fight? Do you want wanna pick things up? When we left off five years ago?'' Roman asked remembering at the graduation party. They both shift into wolf form and fight it out. In the middle of his parent's backyard.
''I will love to if your cousins and friends. Won't break the fight up this time.''
Roman got up from his seat right in Damont's face. So fast that he didn't even know it.
''That is enough Damont going with you. He knows his way around Texas since he grew up there before he, his mom, and brothers move here. Now I want you two to work together on this. Had I made myself clear.''Sika said using his alpha voice seeing both his son and Damont looking at him. They both nod their heads.
''Damont I don't get why are we leaving tonight instead of tomorrow morning? Look it snowing bad out here. Roman said looking at the road seeing snow cover it up.
Making him think that they should try to find a nearby motel and say there until the roads are clear.
But Damont wanted to leave right away. As soon they were done with the meeting with the alpha Aaron. Who agrees to pay for the hospital bills right away.
''I doing you a favor here trust me,'' Damont said keeping his car on the road''.It is very hard because the road is getting icy.
''Trust you yeah right,'' Roman said as he thought he saw a hurt look on Damont face. Making Roman feel will bad.
He was about to say he was sorry. When he felt a huge bump coming from the back ream of the car. Then a huge wolf right in the middle of the road. Damont quickly turns the steering wheel trying not to hit the wolf. But end up driving on a sheet of ice losing control of the car. Hitting a bridge railing so heard it break. The car half hanging on the bridge about to fall into the icy river.
''Are you alright?'' Roman asked looking at Damont who is pulling out his gun pointing at him.
Making Roman and his wolf fear that Damont is about to kill him right now. Thinking about his family and the pack. How Damont will tell them what happens? Will he tell them the truth or lie about it? As he saw Damont take a shot.
Roman closes his eyes but nothing happens. He open them seeing Demont looking at him with his wolf eyes and took another shot. He then saw that Demont wasn't aiming at him. He was aiming at the wolf. Who is at the passager side of the car window. Seeing the wolf running away.
Roman was shocked by what he saw Demont saving him like that. He was about to say something. When he senses more wolves coming their way. Not only that. The car is about to completely fall into the river.
''Get out of the car first both of our weights won't hold us,'' Demont said taking another shot.
''What?''
''Get out of the car it is about to fall into the river. There alpha Aaron had sent some of his wolves. They coming to kill us so he won't have to keep his end of the deal fight them off. While I get out from the windshield. Driving seat car won't open.'' Demont said unbuckling his seatbelt. Before hitting his fist on the windshield.
Roman see cars driving up he quickly got out of the car and shift into his half-wolf form. Going after the first wolf who got out of the his calws scarching the anotther wolf chest up . Another wolf throws a punch Roman blocks it. By grabbing another wolf by the neck slamming him on top of the windshield of his car.
He then saw the second car a black truck. Pull up and two more wolves both of them are in half-wolf form. Roman takes down one of the wolves by using his power and wolf quickness. They fight all over outside of the black truck training punches. While Roman was knocked to the ground. He can see Demont in his half-wolf form fighting on the half-hanging car. With the second wolf who was on the hood of the car. It looks like he has Demont in a triangle choke.
Roman saw Damont lifting the second wolf off the hood of the car. Then by force slammed him so hard. That causes the entire car to fall into the river. With Demont and the second wolf as well.
Not knowing what he was doing. Roman football tackled the wolf he was fighting with so hard forcing him to go. Right thru the still open car door. That is the driving seat door breaking it completely off. Knocking the wolf out cold.
Roman with over to where their car was at. Looking down at the river trying to see if he can see Demont. Or had he come up but he didn't. He climb over the bridge slid down the snowy ditch. When he spotted Demont who was drowning.
''Roman help ...help''. Damont said fighting the current of the river with no luck, it was too fast and cold.
''Hang on Damont,'' Roman said who was still in his half-wolf form about to jump in the river when he saw him hit his head and with under the ice.
''Dam it he had hit his head.'' Roman thought of jumping in the river and with under. To look for the person. Who tries to make his, friends' and cousins' life a living hell.
Jey and Jimmy will tell him to let him it is not their way of the pack. Damont has people that care about him waiting at home. His mother and two younger brothers. Who will be heartbroken. Roman swims underwater seeing that it is dark and ice-cold. His half-wolf form is doing everything it can to find Damont. And keep himself and his wolf from freezing to death.
Roman continues swimming fearing that Damont swim away further down the river. Making him think that he may have to give the pack some bad news. When he saw a half-wolf form of Damont. Floating down the bottom of the river.
There you are now let's get out of this river and get you breathing. Roman thought gabbing Damont pulling him and himself to the surface.
When they reach the ice surface Roman uses his fist and punches thru the ice. Making a hole big enough for them to get out. His face hit the surface taking a few breaths. Before pulling himself and Damont's lifeless body out of the water.
Once Roman got them off the ice. He places Damont on the snowy ground. The first thing Roman notices right away. Is that he can nearly feel Damont wolf and his heart is nearly beating. Roman shields his month to his giving him two breaths. Seeing that his chest moves up and down is a sign that he is getting air in his lungs.
''Come on Damont breathe,'' Roman said as he give another breath. Then another and another.
The snowstorm continued to fall around. Roman can feel and smell another wolf. That was on the bridge that fall in the river with Damont . Nearby and it coming their way. Causing him to give Damont a few quick breaths. Roman was about to give him another breath. He finds out that it is not needed.
Damont chokes up the icy river water. That is in his lungs then took a huge breath on his own. His chest moves up and down. His wolf a few minutes ago was barely there. It's making it present know well clear. Roman wolf as well he shifted into a full wolf. Turn around seeing that the wolf that has fallen with Damont. Had made it to them and is in full wolf form as well.
Both wolves let out a huge roar as they start fighting each other. Roman uses his claws scratching the wolf face up. The second wolf tries to bite Roman in the neck. Roman was quicker he use his teeth and bite. The second wolf's leg then scratched him again on the upper body.
The second wolf then uses his claw to punch Roman in the face near his right eye. Then another punch right in the jar knocked Roman out to the ground. The second wolf was about to go for the kill to his neck.
Roman saw a huge dark brown wolf. A little bigger than him jumping right at the second wolf. He watches while the huge dark brown wolf and the second wolf fight it out. Claws and teeth biting and scratching. It ended after the dark brown wolf. Who had the second wolf holding him with his teeth throwing him to a rock wall. The force of it caused ice sickles. That was on the top part of the wall to fall on the second wolf.
Are you ok? Roman asked who had shifted back into his human form. Turn away doing the sign of the cross. Talking to the dark brown wolf.
Yeah, I find just a little weak from being in the river and then shift into my full wolf form to save you. For the second time, tonight. Damont said taking a few deep breaths.
Roman watches Damont. Who is slowly walking over to the dead wolf. Who now shifted back to his human form. When a wolf dies in its full wolf form. They turn back into their human form. He sees the look on Damont's face when he takes a look at the dead wolf.
Just what I thought.
What? Roman asked walking over to the Damont. When he notices a scent that he smell earlier tonight. and the man who is built like an NFL player and had blonde hair that he remembers meeting with.
Aaron the alpha that we met with earlier. Both men look at each other knowing will well what this means.
''We got to get out of here,'' Roman said trying to think of a way to get back to town and to get him and Damont to look at. Damont more since fell into the river and drown. Roman can feel that Damont wolf is tried.
I got a place nearby here it was my dad's cabin. My mom kept it when he died as a vacation home.
''How close is it?'' Roman asked seeing that Damont is getting cold. Knowing he was in half-wolf form. It protected him after he with into the river. From going into hypothermia right away. But now it starting to take effect.
''Only a few more miles.''
Then don't shift at all I shift go on my back. Guide me to the cabin. Don't worry we won't talk about it to anyone, not even the pack.
''All right hurry up. I don't want to be here when the rest of Aaron's pack. Shows and fine out there alpha and some of their packmates are dead.'' Damont said looking at Roman who then shift.
Roman shifted into his full wolf form. Seeing Damont slowly walking over to him spray something on him and himself. Before getting on his back. Telling him which way to go.
A few minutes later Roman and Damont were standing in the fort of the cabin door. Damont reaches his hand under the doormat pulling out a set of keys. Roman watches as Damont open the door walk on turning the light on. Seeing a living room with couches, a love seat, a coffee table along. A fireplace and firewood at the right end of the room.
I set up the fire you go into the kitchen. It's right thur that door over there. See if you can find something to eat. Damont said walking over to the fireplace.
Do you think they won't find us here? Roman worried that maybe they shouldn't come here at all. They didn't have a choice right now. It snowing will hear. Both need a warm place to rest.
This bottle I got from my mate here keeps wolves' scents protected. It's her special spray it always works. Now see if there is something to eat or drink here.
Roman with into the kitchen to see if he can find something to eat. He with thur a wooden few cabins. Seeing that the only thing he found was a can of soup. He grabbed a few cans and a pan opening them up.
While Roman was cooking the soup and making some cocoa. He thought about this evening's events. He and Damont were this close to being killed. How did Damont save him once but twice tonight. Making him wonder why he did it.
Soon the soup was done cooking Roman put some in two blows and took them into the living room. He notices that Damont's wet clothes are on the floor. He is wrapped in a huge blanket near the fireplace.
Roman can tell that Damont is getting better his breathing had improved and his heart is beating strong now. Roman placed the tray on the coffee table. A set of dry clothes on the coffee table as well.
There my brothers you and they are the same sizes as for right now. Damont said turning his head grabbing the cup of cocoa from the tray taking a sip.
Thinks Roman said taking his wet clothes off-putting on the dry clothes. While Damont walks away from the fireplace. Heading to the back. Then herd a door then closely. This was followed by the sound of a drawer opening and closing. Another open and close then a sound of water.
Roman took a seat on the couch grabbed one of the soup blows and start eating. He looks at the window seeing that the snowstorm isn't letting up. Turn to the top part of the fireplace seeing pictures of Damont and his brothers. When they were younger pictures of their mother and pictures of a man. That looks like Damont and his brothers but older. Next to it is a picture of five of them together.

Roman looks up seeing Damont now in dry clothes himself.
This man in the picture is your dad? Roman asked watching Damont walking over to the couch grabbing the other blow.

You and your brothers never talk about your dad. I thought your parents got a divorce.
A year after my dad died. My mom wanted a fresh start for us. She also wanted us to be protected. Our dad was our protector. So when she met your mom at a Football game. Find out that your dad is an alpha. she asked if we can join the pack.
How did you know that alpha Aaron wasn't going to keep his end of the deal? How did you know It was him you were fighting on the hood of the car?

Yeah, I remember you saying there's something you wanna check out and you be back later. You came back around a little after midnight. Roman said recalling herding and smelling Damont coming back. With right into the bathroom shower. Changed into his boxers and with to bed.
Last night I with too few supernatural bars. To get some information about out of the locals. What I got out of them was. The alpha Aaron never keeps his end of the deal and his pack runs the town. I saw Aaron and some of his pack at the final bar I with to. I kept my distance from them. As I watch them getting free drinks and food. They were still there after closing. I hide and stay there until they leave. That was when I saw what Aaron was driving and his scent.
''Why didn't you tell me I would have gone with you?''
''I didn't think you are up to spending the evening bar-hopping. You have just only been in remission for a few months.''
I guess you know about me having cancer? Roman said thinking about when he was within for a check-up for the NFL.
When they found something wrong he was asked to get another blood test. The blood test shows that Roman had a werewolf chronic myeloid leukemia that effort his wolf blood, cell count. That moment Roman knows that football is over for him.
It took him about a year but he was finally cancer-free. His parents' family and friends have been treating him with kids' gloves. He thought when his father ask him to go to Texas. They are starting to not see him as weak he was wrong.
Look I find out about it from my mom. I call to see how you are doing when Sika told me about needing you to go to Texas. But worried about you going by yourself. He said that your scent is not back to normal yet. You may be a target to the alaph, Aaron.
Ok, my scent is back to normal yet. Why did you agree to go? You and I aren't friends? Roman asked seeing Damont is thinking about something. He feels his wolf doing the same as well.
Both men finish their soup and cocoa and get ready to go to bed for the night. Damont moves the coffee table Roman sets up the air mattresses. They were both in bed with the lights off trying to get some sleep.
Roman was looking at the living room ceiling. Still trying to figure out why Damont agrees to come with him. He was about to ask him again When he heard Damont's voice.
I'm sorry I was a jerk to you when we were kids and teenagers. Back then I was insecure as a werewolf and as an athlete. To the point, I decided for many years not to even try.
Stop trying to do what? Insecure as a werewolf? Roman asked sitting up now wanting to know what Damont was talking about.
My uncles and grandparents on my dad's side of the family see me as a disappointment. My uncles were all alphas of own their packs. My dad wasn't an alpha. Or a member of the there pack. He helps them out if needed.
Wait if your uncles are pack alphas why didn't you, your mom, and your brothers just join one there packs?
They were very overbearing when my dad died. That is what led to us moving out of Texas. When they came for graduation. Pushing for me to put college on hold return to Texas with them. So they can train me to become the future pack alpha.
They said that its time for me to be more like your father. To be a pack alpha.
What did your mom think about what they were trying to do?
She didn't like it she wanted me to go to college first. Then let me decide if I what to be a pack alpha. That fight we had at the graduation party. It was all them Roman. I didn't even want to fight you at all. Not at the graduation party in fort of your family and our packmates.
They want me to hurt you to the point that you be laying in a hospital bed. I was holding back the best I could be. I was so happy that your friends and cousins pull you off of me.
My uncles saw the whole thing and they were not happy at all. They felt like I shouldn't finish you off. Your father won't let another wolf walk away after a fight.
You with to college anyway.
I did I got some advice from someone I didn't know I could turn to. I told my uncles I not going back with them and I will never want to be an alpha. I felt very happy about my decision. For the first time, I felt confident as a werewolf.
What do you mean you stop trying?
To be friends with you and your cousins. Damont said sitting up looking at Roman as well.
But you became friends with Caleb and his buddies. You and Caleb are best friends
I did become friends with them ...Caleb was my best friend.
Was your best friend? Roman asked to remember the last time he Damont and Caleb together. They were laughing well Caleb was laughing Demont wasn't
I grow up a whole lot like so did my wolf. I won't let my insecurities get in the way. Of what I want to do or won't do. Caleb on another hand couldn't deal with it at all. He wanted the Damont that he could use to get what he want. Who agreed with him on everything. He has also been hanging around the wrong people in Miami.
The wrong people? What kind of the wrong people?
The wrong people that you don't want around. That is why I move back to Pensacola. I was working with one of his friends one night. He put me and my family in danger.
Had you been back since last summer?
Yeah, your parents know I had moved back here. I've been to the pack meetings and all. My friendship with Caleb is over and done. We should try to get some sleep. We had a long way back to town tomorrow Damont said laying back down.
Roman did the same thing thinking about what he was just been told. He can feel and tell whatever Caleb and his friend did. DAmont is still mad about it so is his wolf. He doesn't want to talk about it. So Roman didn't ask.
He also can tell that Damont is not the same person. He was when they were kids. Maybe they can make peace with each other.
So things haven't gone as planned at all. Roman said as he was telling his cousins and friends. All sitting on a pizza hunt telling them what with on in texas. After it took a day to get home.
The very next morning Roman woke up seeing Damont at the table. On the phone with his mom to see if she could book a flight home. They were able to get a flight out that very day. If they leave right away. Soon the plane landed Roman and Damont were greeted by their loved ones. Roman with his parents. Damont with his mom.
That was about a month ago. Since then he hasn't heard or seen Damont. Until he decided on calling him this morning. Roman looks at his cousins and two friends. Who was looking at him. After he just told them how he witness Damont fight off Aaron. He has never seen Damont wolf so badass like that. Not even when they use to fight each other. When they were teenagers. No wonder Caleb can't deal with this grown-up Damont because he is stronger than him. He right knows it.
But that is not why his cousins and friends are looking at him. With worried looks on their faces.
I don't know Roman Damont and Caleb are not friends anyone. I not buying it at all man. Jimmy said thinking about all the times Damont pick on him and his brother. Who discourages him any chance he gets.
I with Jimmy and Jey on this one Damont been bullying us since the fifth grade and now he is a changed person. Leo said looking at Roman his best friend who just battled cancer a year ago. Feeling Damont is using him because of it.
Look I not going to force you guys to be around Damont. But I going to try and see if we can be peaceful with one another. Roman said while flagging their waiter. To let them know that they are ready for their bill.
The waiter is a male with blonde hair wearing a pizza hurt uniform. Looking to be around Roman age comes walking to them. Roman was about to pull out his wallet when Jey stop him.
I got this man you need to save until you find work Jay said pulling out his wallet planning to pay. When jimmy stops him.
I got this I'm the one who wanted to come here. Jimmy said pulling out his wallet.
''Just because you are the oldest you have the right to pay? Do you think I can't pay for my cousin for dinner?''
The bill has been paid for.
Roman, Leo, Jey and Jimmy all turn to look at the waiter. Who was standing there looking at them.
''What.''
The big tell guy and three other people at that table over there pay it.
Roman, Leo, Jey, and Jimmy all turn around when three formal wolf scents hit them. They found where the scents belong too quickly. Spotted a table at the far end of the dining room. Damont holding a baby boy, and a woman around their age holding another baby boy. Both babies look like a year apart and look like Damont and two wolves who are Damont's younger brothers. Who is waving at them while Damont looks at Roman and gives him a nod? In a low voice, he said.
It's their way of thanking you. For what you did in Texas.
Roman turned back around thinking that he may have had mead pace with a packmate after all.
