"Ready…?" A breathy whisper asks, closing the gap between them.

Luz slowly lays down against the blankets, breaking the kiss momentarily to gasp as calloused fingers delicately begin to slide beneath her shirt and massage her abdomen. Sparkling golden eyes flicker with love and patience above her. Her shirt rides up as the soft pads of her girlfriend's fingers ghost up her belly and towards her chest.

Luz lets out a contented sigh as her fingers spread out just below her breasts, easing back down and leaving a trail of fire in their wake. The motion is repeated, carefully gliding across her side as every little curve and dip in her body is rememorized.

A silent question develops in Amity's gaze, pausing her hand at her abdomen and awaiting the other's verbal permission. Luz nods once and the woman slowly sits up, shifting her arms behind her and resting her weight upon them. She bows her head as the shirt is easily slipped off of her body.

The shirt is dropped onto the floor and Luz barely has a moment to react before her girlfriend leans forward, her breath against her neck and below her ear as sweet and tender kisses pepper her sensitive skin. She shudders, her weight relying on one arm propped up beneath her as she drapes the other across her girlfriend's neck. She hums, her eyes closed and her chest rising and falling with carefully timed breaths.

Gentle fangs scrape across her pulse point, prompting a sharp gasp from the human before a warm, wet tongue licks at the reddening skin. Her kisses ascend. One is placed beneath her ear, releasing a soft breath that causes goosebumps to rise across her skin, another is planted along her jawline, and a third below her chin. Excitement rolls through her as a hot breath is breathed against her lips.

Each kiss grows with vigor and passion. She can feel Amity's strained breath against her own, humming and quietly grunting as she returns the kiss, sweet fingers caressing the tanned one's chin and running her thumb just beneath her bottom lip. Her girlfriend pulls from the kiss again, her chest rising and falling with exertion as she exhales heavily. Luz goes in for another kiss, causing her arm to buckle beneath her and her back to collide with the blankets below, the kiss is only briefly broken before being reconvened.

Her girlfriend's knee is placed between her legs, lightly pressing against her crotch in a teasing manner. Heat slowly begins to build at the pit of her stomach, spiraling down to her nether regions.

Luz faintly hears Amity's amused scoff against her lips as feathery kisses are showered across her face. The lavender witch pulls her knee slightly forward, spurring her on and causing a needy gasp to escape her lips.

Laying flat on her back with kisses peppered across her face and collarbone, Luz whispers her girlfriend's name. Shifting to the side and pulling her knee from her crotch, Amity reaches down, her fingertips trailing downwards and leaving a trail of hot fire in their wake.

With a few precise movements of her fingers, Luz's jeans are unbuttoned and she lifts her hips as they are maneuvered off of her, underwear being dragged down to her ankles. They're tossed elsewhere in the room, forgotten.

Soft fingers slide down from her chin, slipping between the valley of her breasts and over her toned stomach, caressing her abdomen before gingerly gliding between her legs.

"Kid?!"

A shout from outside the room barely manages to break through the cloudy, buzzing thoughts and the lustful sparks within her body quickly disperse. A blanket is quickly thrown over her body as her girlfriend scrambles out of the bed, stumbling as she rushes over to the door to open it.

"It's Eda…" The brunette mutters in disappointment.

"Already?" Amity asks, "She's supposed to be with Raine until-"

"Kid?! That you?"

Luz panics, slamming the door shut and scrambling to get her clothes back on. "I'll distract her!" She whispers urgently, "You get out!

Amity frowns, "Luz-"

"Please, I can't handle the taunting!" Luz interrupts rapidly, getting her shoes on. "You don't understand. She's like Edric and Emira, but worse. She's the cool aunt vibe, but also the annoying aunt. If she finds out about…" Her face heats up when she gestures at the bed, clearing her throat and regaining her composure. "Amity, she will not leave me alone!"

"Luz, I have an-"

Without giving her a chance to finish, Luz races out of the room and descends the staircase as quickly as she can. She can't let Eda find out about this. She would never let her live it down.

Sure, she'd rather face Eda's teasing than her mother's knowing stare, but they were equally as bad as the other. If she could prevent it from happening, she would at any cost.

She just has to keep Eda distracted until Amity sneaks out-

"Oomph!" She crashes into another body that releases a sharp, drunken yelp.

"Eda!" Luz greets as the silver-haired woman staggers back to her feet, groaning and rubbing her forehead to look at the human. Eda lifts one brow, examining her in observation.

Oh no.

Oh god no.

Her voice is slightly slurred. "What were you kids doing?"

"Nothing!" Luz answers, her voice high-pitched. This only seems to confirm Eda's suspicions. "Nothing," Luz repeats this time with a lower tone.

The older witch says nothing and turns away from her. Panic erupts through her, realizing where the woman was heading. "W-w-wait, wait, wait!" She attempts to stop her but Eda doesn't listen. Luz swears she can see the shadow of a smirk on her face. "Don't- don't you want some water or something?"

Eda grabs the door handle.

"Eda, wait!"

The door opens and Luz's soul plummets as humiliation rushes through her. Her pulse quickens and she covers her face, letting out a whine of some sort.

"Oh, hey Eda."

Luz peeks through the crevices of her fingers, expecting Eda's face to twist into a shit-eating grin. However, her expression is blank. Luz lets her hands fall, scanning the room in confusion.

She locates Amity in her oversized maroon shirt and baggy black sweatpants, leaning against a beanbag with a controller in her hand and a video game playing.

"...Amity?" Luz murmurs in disbelief.

The younger witch offers Eda a controller, "Wanna join us?"

Eda smirks a little, scoffing in amusement as she stumbles into the room and takes the device before collapsing onto the beanbag. "Sure," she crosses one leg over the other, "hope you kids are ready to have your asses kicked!"

Luz sighs heavily, cuddling into Amity's side with a defeated huff.

"She's gonna be hungover tomorrow morning…" Amity whispers.

"Well," Luz starts quietly, glancing at the mentioned woman as the game begins, "she's still getting used to being Headmaster."

Amity gives her a weird look, "Still?"

Luz giggles, "It has been three months. You try going like twenty or so years without responsibility like that."

The lavender witch hums, "True…"

When morning came, Eda and Amity were already gone. The sun was barely into the sky, which came as a relief to Luz considering she had two or so classes to attend in the mornings. One of her classes had Edric as her professor, so she knew she could get away with being a little tardy. Hell, Eda would probably let her skip a whole day if she wanted to, but she wasn't going to take advantage of the Headmaster's favoritism, it wouldn't be fair.

By three, her classes had finished and she quickly made her way to the library, where she hoped her girlfriend would be. If she wasn't there, she was going to head home and squeeze in a few more hours of sleep.

But, a familiar voice fills her ears and she quickly approaches the kid's section.

"Can any of you read that?"

"Yeah!"

"Oh? What's it say?"

Luz leans against the daycare entrance, watching the little ones tilting their heads, squinting, and making the funniest of faces. She smiles a little, amused. Suddenly, one of them perks up, the oldest of the group, reading the message aloud. "Don't ever dig holes under this fence!"

Amity laughs, shaking her head. "Close. That's what the other sign said. This one says," She moves her finger to the first line, she reads slowly and emphasizes each word. "No desserts ever, unless puppies never dig holes under this fence again." Amity closes the book, "Do you know what that means?"

"Dig holes and get no dessert!" The little girl in her lap speaks up, sitting up so quickly that she topples over and scrambles back to her classmates.

"Why we dig holes?" A boy her age asks, puzzled.

"Well," Amity hums, thinking, "it's basically saying that there are consequences for your actions. Like the pup, he snuck out and missed dessert."

The first girl appears confused, "What's dessert?"

Amity responds gently, "A dessert is something that you eat. For example, ice cream is considered a dessert." She glances up, noticing Luz standing behind the children and watching her. Luz smiles warmly, and Amity turns back to the kids, mischievous. "Digging holes means sneaking out. So, can someone tell me what happens when you sneak out?"

A three-year-old boy answers her excitedly, "You sneak out, you no get dessert!"

Amity claps her hands together, "That's right!" She praises them, then she points a single finger at Luz. "Don't be like her. Luz sneaks out, so she doesn't get desserts." She winks. "She's a very naughty girl."

All eyes turn to her. Luz frowns, baffled. "You're the one-"

"Anyway, reading time is over," Amity announces, cutting her off. "Scurry along to lunch now."

The kids scramble to their feed upon hearing the word and awkwardly race to the other side of the nursery.

Luz walks over to where Amity sits, joining her on the floor. "I have never snuck out before in my life," she mutters, "why use me as an example?"

"Those are lies, sweetheart," Amity replies with a small smirk. "Both of us have."

"You more often than me, Blight." Luz scoffs in response. "Well, anyway" she leans back with her hands as a prop, watching as Amity stands to her feet and steps away from her, "aren't you supposed to be off today?"

Amity worked two jobs now, the library in the morning and in the shop with her father in the evening.

"Yeah, but Malphas called me in." Amity starts gathering the books from the floor. "Dad said he'll handle the abominations for me."

"I thought you were off today from both!" Luz places a hand over her chest in mock offense, "I woke up and you weren't there! Amor , I thought you bailed on me!"

"I'm sorry, love." Amity giggles, bowing slightly and kissing the top of Luz's head. "I'll wake you up next time, yeah?"

A mischievous smile crosses the human's lips, "Maybe Eda won't be coming home so soon next time and we can actually-"

Amity gently smacks her in the forehead with the hilt of her palm, "This is a kid's room. Behave yourself." She steps around her, kneeling to organize the books on the shelf in alphabetical order and placing the ones that had been scattered around the room in their designated places.

Luz's jaw drops open, "I- we! But Eda ! She came home too early!"

The pale witch giggles, "Aw, you poor thing."

"Neglectful!" Luz accuses dramatically, "I have needs!"

Amity scoffs, "Horny."

"In my defense," Luz starts, "it's been a month!"

"Two weeks." Amity rolls her eyes, smiling. "Oh, the horror! I'm such a terrible girlfriend!"

"Girlfriend?"

Their eyes snap at a child sitting across from them with their legs crossed beneath them and a smile on their face, which is covered in crumbs and a milk stache. "How long have you been sitting there?" Luz asks as Amity grabs a napkin, kneeling to gently clean the toddler's mouth.

The child giggles, swatting the napkin away. "What does armor mean?"

"Nothing," Amity answers, standing, "go play with your sisters until your mother picks you up."

Without arguing, the child scrambles away. Luz smiles, her heartbeat quickening. "You would be a good mom…" She murmurs. A golden light seems to appear around the brunette when she blushes. "Maybe even the best…"

Amity coughs, "Okay! I need to work." She shoves her out, smiling a little. "Begone!"

- 3 Hours Later-

Luz closes the portal behind her, setting the key on the counter next to the door and stretching her arms above her head. Her body was tense and unrelaxed. Sleeping at the owl shack was not as comfortable as it used to be, but it would have to do, at least until she could get a mattress into her bedroom there.

She walks into the kitchen, flicks the light on, and opens the fridge. Hunger rolls inside her belly when her eyes land on sandwiches wrapped in plastic. Luz grabs the plate of sandwiches and an orange soda, places them on the counter and withdraws her phone to open her texts.

Her heart quickens when she sees Amity's message. The girl's icon is decorated with a glowing heart, one Luz had drawn herself.

A: Dad's gonna be removing sigils until midnight.

Luz types her response quickly. Eda had come home too early, but if this would work, then so be it.

She walks away with her plate, leaving her phone unlocked on the counter. Her family was currently out, and she was going to take advantage of it. She places the food on the couch cushion, crossing one leg beneath her and sitting down. She clicks the TV on with the remote.

Luz freezes when she hears the door open and her heart begins to beat rapidly, she closes her eyes and her lips tighten together, preparing herself for the loud scolding from her mother for eating on the couch.

When she's met with complete silence, she peeks one open, and she's greeted by the sight of beige and blue wisps.

Luz shrieks in surprise, fumbling with the sandwich and ultimately dropping it on the couch. She winces when crumbs spread across the cushions.

"Vee!" Luz complains, "I just got that out of the fridge!"

"Well, eat it," Vee shrugs, pushing away to approach the kitchen, "you've eaten foods in the Demon Realm before! Some of those are far nastier than a sandwich on the couch!" The cabinet opens and closes, and Vee returns with Luz's phone and a bag of chips in hand. "And you're lucky I wasn't Mom."

Luz blows the sandwich off and carefully dusts the couch free of crumbs, making a mental note to sweep it up after she's finished eating. "Yeah… She'd end me. So, anyway, how was your date with Masha?"

Vee's cheeks turn red, she stutters when she speaks. "Uh… They… They had to head to work early, so…"

Luz lifts a brow, observing her sister. "You're stuttering."

The other girl's hair spikes a little and her nails curl into her palms, flustered. "And?!"

Wait a minute.

She knows that face. Something happened. Something interesting .

Luz gasps, leaning over and propping her weight on the one hand. "What happened? C'mon, tell me!" Vee smiles a little, "Spill the tea!"

Vee clears her throat, folding her hands and extending them before her to relieve herself of anxiety. A nervous, lopsided smile forms on her face. "We… We uh… We kissed…"

The room falls quiet.

Luz counts on her fingers before glancing up at the tanned girl. Yellow-gold eyes meet Luz's dark pair. A brow twitches in perplexity. "How long have you been dating exactly?"

Her sister squeaks, embarrassed and trying to shift the attention off of her. "Look! It took-... It took months for me to ask them okay, okay! We're taking this… we're taking this slow!"

"Girl, I don't know if I should be disappointed that you took so long…" Luz murmurs, folding her arms beneath her on the armrest. "Or if I should be surprised it actually happened."

"You hush!" Vee points at her accusingly, her face beet red. She speaks quickly. "Amity told me about 'crikey'!"

'She WHAT?'

"I panicked!" The eighteen-year-old defends herself, heat rising to her cheeks and her heartbeat quickening.

"Clearly!" Vee shoots back, having gained the upper hand.

Luz clutches the armrest, feeling like her heart is about to burst from her chest in humiliation. "You try having your goddess of a girlfriend kiss you out of nowhere!"

"And, you plan on sneaking her in sometime soon?" Vee asks both innocently and teasingly, the shape-shifter smirks when Luz's eyes widen. Vee holds the human's phone up on display.

Amity's contact remained on the screen.

As did their conversation.

Luz's face turns ten shades of red and she sinks into the couch, swallowing hard to prevent a noise of protest from escaping. She remains quiet, knowing she has dug herself a hole and now she has to lay in it.

"How about we make a deal?" Vee suggests.

Luz frowns, doubtful.

Ignoring her hesitation, Vee continues. "You know that new restaurant in town?"

" Borchardt ?" Luz asks carefully, suspicious of her sister's intentions and where this 'deal' was heading. "Amity and I tried it last week. Fancy. Wait time might be a while. Most popular spot in Gravesfield right now, and with good reason, the food is superb."

Vee smiles, clapping her hands together once. "See, then it's perfect! Mom has been wanting to try the place."

Luz squints, "What's the deal?"

"I'll get Mom out of the house tonight, and you can sneak your little lover in. Mom and I get to spend quality time together, and you and your girlfriend… Well…" Vee smirks, appearing smug. She knows she has Luz's attention now.

Luz's breath hitches, her cheeks turning a dark shade of pink. "What's the catch?"

"No catch," Vee answers with a casual shrug.

An uncomfortable silence fell upon the two, neither girl knowing how to continue the conversation, if there was any need to continue it at all.

Eventually, Vee coughs and breaks the silence.

"Anyway, you're welcome." Vee places Luz's phone on the back of the couch. "I'll tell Mom when she gets home. Just remember to hide your steps well!" Vee concludes, exiting the lounge and heading to their bedroom.

Luz lets out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.

Vee was helping her.

Camila returned home an hour after Vee and Luz sealed their deal, Vee proposed the offer to her and the woman immediately accepted, excited.

Luz was invited, but she declined and informed her mother that she'd already been there with Amity. So, after putting her work attire aside and changing into formal clothes, her mother and Vee left. Luz remains at the door, watching for the car's return for a few minutes before alerting Amity of their departure.

Ten minutes later, the portal opened in the place of Luz's bedroom door. Amity steps through with the spare key that had been made for the two of them to access the portal from either side.

"Amity!" Luz greets happily, setting aside her book and scrambling off the bed.

Amity's heart skips several beats when Luz places a sweet kiss at the edge of her lips, just close enough to set the butterflies off like rockets inside the brunette's chest. "How did you manage to sneak out without anybody noticing? Alador hasn't left yet, has he?"

Amity scoffs. "Learned from the best." She gives the tanned girl's finger a sweet kiss, "But, to be fair, you were pretty annoying."

Luz drapes her arms across Amity's shoulders, amused. "Maybe I want your attention?"

"Is that what you called me here for?" Amity asks, giggling. "To talk?"

"Hm…" Luz leans in a little, she can feel her breath on her lips. "Of course not…"

Amity steps away, ignoring Luz's sound of protest. "It's so empty in here.. You got rid of the bunk beds too?"

Luz glances over her shoulder, following Amity's line of sight. Amity hasn't been in her room in months, the bunk bed has been replaced by two single beds separated by a curtain curling from one corner to the middle of the room. The curtain acts as a divider.

"Yeah, Vee and I figured we'd spend the weekends with Mom to keep her company." Luz informs her, "Vee's gonna move back in next month."

Amity hums in acknowledgment. "What's the curtain for?"

"Privacy!" Luz chirps as she falls backward onto the mattress. "I get the closet, Vee gets the window. Mom doesn't like the idea too much because… one of us could…" she clears her throat, nervous, "while the other is out…"

Amity seems to bristle, her hair spiking slightly as her ears angle back. "What does she take us for? She acts like we're rabbits." The brunette is staring at the door with an annoyed expression on her face, it's almost laughable by the way her brows creased in agitation.

Luz lets out an amused giggle. "I mean…"

Amity's quiet for a moment, the tips of her ears slowly reddening. Her shoulders sag and her lips tighten, she lets out a huff of annoyance. "Point taken."

"Mom's just being Mom. It's not like I could get pregnant." Luz reminds her, closing her eyes and relaxing against the bed.

"Now if I were a guy, I'd understand her overprotectiveness," Amity mutters, sounding offended. "Just like Caleb and Evelyn - that is her name, right?"

Luz answers. "Think so. But we've seen what magic inside a human's body can do to them… Belos, for example. So, I doubt it's possible."

The bed shifts and Luz opens one eye, sighing with a slight grin when Amity moves to lean above her, propping her weight against her arm placed next to Luz's shoulders. Recognizing the posture and the glint in the pale woman's eyes, Luz's heartbeat slows with contentment.

Amity's sweet voice drifts through her mind, she barely registers it. "Why don't we forget about all of that for a moment, yeah?"

Luz clears her suddenly dry throat, muttering a quiet noise of confirmation.

Amity hums and straightens her posture, resting her weight against Luz's lap with her legs comfortably folded beneath her. Her hands slide around the back of her neck and pull the hair tie out with a few gentle twists, her lavender hair cascades down around her shoulders as her arms lower back to her sides.

Brilliant golden meets Luz's darker pair and thin lips quirk into an almost smug smile.

"You look like you want kisses."

Luz's response is quick. "Absolutely."

Amity giggles and inclines toward her. Their noses brush. Her hands slide beneath Luz's shirt; black nails trace up Luz's tanned stomach, her fingertips sparkling with familiar purple magic and leaving a trail of warm sensations in her wake.

"You are positive we won't be interrupted?" Amity asks.

"If that happens I am throwing myself into the Boiling Sea."

"Well, we cannot have that…." The witch laughs. She speaks sensually and seductively, "In that case, I will make sure you have all kisses before I go home…"

Delicate fingertips descend again, ghosting across her sides. Gentle hands begin to explore her body, sliding towards Luz's breasts before pulling away. "This damn thing.." Amity laughs, tugging at Luz's shirt. "Let me fix that." The human sits up, allowing the cloth to be removed.

The shirt is discarded into the floor and Amity presses her face into the side of her neck, inhaling and exhaling softly.

Luz smirks a little, leaning away and grasping Amity's chin to tilt her eyes up at her. Brown eyes sparkle with adoration and desire, but the woman remains still, awaiting Luz's verbal permission. The brunette giggles, "Well, someone looks hungry."

"Guess what?" Amity says, concealing her amusement.

"What?" Luz asks, amused.

"Shut up," Amity answers with a laugh, pulling her chin away. A violet spell circle is drawn and the lights shut off, the room becomes dark and a single light spell is cast between them.

Luz's pulse quickens.

"Close your eyes" Amity whispers with a velvety voice, the human allows her eyes to flutter shut, "Just relax, and I'll take it from here…"
