"...Kasa!"
"Mikasa!"
Mikasa Ackermann jolted awake at the sound of Armin's voice, her heart pounding like a drum, only to realize that she was trapped in a dank and dreary jail cell. The walls were barren and bleak, with a faint hint of mildew that pervaded the air. Suddenly, a flood of memories crashed into her like a tidal wave, making her realize the magnitude of the situation. She shot out of the bed and clutched the bars of her cell, her mind was a jumbled mess, but she knew she needed to act fast in order to save Eren.
"You're finally up!"
"Armin, What happened?" She asked
"We failed, the Survey Corps couldn't keep them from executing Eren! They took him to the gallows not long ago!" He cried out.
"N-no, no, no..." She muttered as her eyes darkened in horror.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly, with every second feeling like an eternity. Her throat was parched, her palms slick with sweat, but she knew that she had to keep it together, to stay calm and focused if she wanted to save Eren. She focused her attention on Armin, who looked to be in a similar boat, the blond boy looked up at her with a knowing look.
"We need to get out fast, there has to be someway we can draw in the guards here. We need to get to Eren before It's too late!" She cried out to him.
His face morphed into a frown as he racked his brain for a solution, his eyes lit up with new found hope at the sudden thought. "I have an idea to draw them in, but you'll have to follow my lead, we probably have one shot at this."
Mikasa nodded her head at him as Armin made a mess of his own hair and sat down on the ground, moments from giving the performance of his life. His screams suddenly echoed throughout the dungeon as Mikasa heard the doors unlock, she readied herself as the footsteps drew closer and closer, mentally prepared to do whatever it takes to bring him back.
Marco sat in the dimly lit mess hall by himself, surrounded by his fellow cadets. The cold stone walls of the castle headquarters seemed to press in on him, as if they were suffocating him. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had been plaguing him since the disappearance of Sasha and Ymir, as he glanced around the room, he noticed the tense silence that had settled over their superior officers, as if they all knew something they didn't. His mind raced with possibilities, but each seemed more bleak than the last.
"Ahhh!" Jean let out a sigh as he took a seat next to him.
"Find anything about Sasha and Ymir?" He asked, prompting the boy to groan.
"Nope. Sasha wasn't at her usual spots and Krista had no luck either, you?"
"Nothing as well, I tried telling the officers but they didn't care. There is something else going on that they're concerned with, something tells me It definitely involves Eren." Marco replied.
The mention of Eren's name piqued his interest as the boy glanced from side to side. "Where's the other idiot at? Did he go missing too?" Jean grunted.
"You mean Connie? Not sure, he could be-" Marco was about to reply before someone barged into the mess hall behind them drawing a few looks.
The two turned around to spot Connie hurrying their way, his face as pale as a sheet. He stopped just in front of their table, hunched over panting and struggling to catch his breath before he titled his head back to relay the news. "You guys... ah.. ah.. It's... Eren!" Connie managed to let out between breaths.
"Connie, What happened?" Reiner asked, as Bertholdt, Annie and a few others huddled around.
"Get it out already." An annoyed Jean commented.
"There's a rumor going around, they're saying Eren has been executed!" Connie cried out in horror, shocking the gathered cadets.
"W-what." Jean stuttered in shock.
"Where did you hear that?" A nervous Marco inquired.
"A messenger bird came in an hour ago, The press are already printing out headlines of his execution as we speak!" Connie elaborated further.
Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt shared a look amongst each other. They shouldn't have placed their trust in somebody as shifty as Floch Forster, these people better hope that this was nothing more than an unconfirmed rumor, for their sake. The trio were about to make their way out when suddenly- A few officers barged into the room, their faces grim and resolute.
"All cadets present to the courtyard immediately, we have new orders from the capital! Move it!" The Garrison soldier called out.
The announcement from their superior officers seemed to echo through the room, but Marco barely registered it. All he could think about was the possibility that his friends were never coming back. The sounds of horses' hooves clattering on cobblestones echoed through the narrow streets, as soldiers rushed from one place to another. Some were carrying messages, while others were escorting important officials. They all had a sense of urgency about them, as if every second counted.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the courtyard, signaling the approach of the officer who would soon make their announcement. Marco and the other cadets stood at attention, their faces grim and stoic. As the officer stepped up on the platform, Marco braced for the worst. He knew that whatever they had to say, it wouldn't be good news.
"Attention! Earlier this evening, the convicted criminal Eren Yeager managed to escape from the custody of the Military police with the help of a defector. Both of these individuals are considered extremely dangerous and must be captured and killed at all costs!" The man's eyes bore into the cadets as he continued. "We will be working in conjunction with the MP and the scout regiment to track down Eren Yeager, this will be a high-risk operation, and as such we must be prepared for anything."
The cadets were shocked to hear the news, having thought that Eren had been already executed. Marco and a few others breathed a sigh of relief, but they knew it wasn't over yet. The man paused for a moment to take a breath, before continuing. " I want every soldier to be on high alert and to report any sightings or suspicious activity to their commanding officer! The defector in question has recently been identified as Floch Forster!" He spoke as whispers broke out in their ranks.
Sandra felt as if the ground had given way beneath her feet, the shock his her like a thunderbolt, leaving the girl numb and speechless. She turned to Gordon, who looked equally as distraught as she was, she glanced around and flinched as she noticed the eyes of their comrades on her. Sandra swallowed a lump in her throat, dread settling into her bones as the reality began to sink in. This couldn't be true, she thought, Floch would never betray them.
"We've been tipped off that they were making their way down south through Ehrmich district, Yeager and Forster can't stay on the run forever, we'll need to be ready should they make their way over here! Equip yourselves and report to your squad leaders immediately!" The man ordered as the cadets saluted and hurried away.
"Shit, shit, shit! What do we do Sandra?" Gordon asked the unresponsive girl, both following the rest of their comrades towards the makeshift armory.
"Sandra!" He called out, grabbing her by the wrist.
"I'm not sure okay!? I don't have the answer to this!" She screamed at his face, drawing in a few looks. "Whatever is happening, it must be some kind of misunderstanding, it has to be..." She frowned.
"You heard the guy back there, they're going to kill him." His eyes hardened as he spoke.
"I know..." She trailed as she looked down dejectedly.
"Sandra, Gordon!"
They turned around to spot Ruth walking their way, both tensing upon noticing the crowd of cadets coming behind her. Both of them fully expecting some sort of backlash from them, by virtue of being close friends with Floch.
"What do you all want?" Gordon demanded coldly.
Marco brought both hands up defensively as he spoke. "Hey, no need for hostility. We're all the same as you, we're trying to figure out what's going on."
Gordon looked unconvinced. "Well, tough luck because we don't know either."
Jean felt his annoyance rise with the boy as he spoke up. "What the hell's your problem? Floch and Eren are our friends too."
Gordon was about to retaliate when he suddenly felt Sandra grab onto the back of his shirt, he turned around to see her shake her head at him. "Please, don't fight." She simply told him.
Connie spoke out, trying to defuse the situation. "We don't have to go through with what command told us, we can do this our own way and get to the bottom of this, together."
"Why would you need our help?" Sandra asked.
Marco replied. "Sasha's been acting strange this morning, we think Floch and Eren's situation has something to do with It."
Krista stepped forward as she add. "Ymir too, If we can find Floch then we could potentially figure out what happened to them."
Gordon's eyes narrowed skeptically. "Sorry but-" He said before Sandra cut him off.
"I wouldn't even know where to begin if we tried tracking them down, but," Sandra began wistfully. "I remember, back in the summer when we were kids we'd always play outside on the fields to get away from the stench of the river. There's a place we used to play inside of, there's almost no chance they'd be there but It's a start." She informed them.
"Well, that's better than nothing I guess." Jean sighed.
"Could you take us there?" Marco asked.
Sandra paused for a moment, glancing in Gordon's direction. The boy shook his head in disapproval, but she agreed nonetheless.
"I'll lead the way."
A prison guard lays unconcious in the cells as two figures make their way to the surface, Mikasa and Armin came to halt as they heard a few people running through the hallway. As soon as the men disappeared around a corner, the duo rushed to the courtyard and made their way out unnoticed. It wasn't until they reached by the stables that the two began to notice that the entire palace was on high alert, the two hid behind a couple of barrels as a couple of MP soldiers came nearby.
"Shit, hey check me again did I put on everything right?" One of the men asks the other.
The man in question does a quick inspection before patting him on the back. "Yeah, you're all set. I'll get the horses."
"What are they doing?" Mikasa wondered to Armin in a hushed tone.
"We need to catch up quick, they said they last saw them taking the titan boy towards the southern gate thirty minutes ago." The MP said, alarming the two cadets.
Mikasa and Armin both felt relief that Eren had escaped execution, now it was only a matter of reaching him.
"Armin, we need to take their gear and go after Eren, distract them again and I'll move in from behind." The girl ordered as she sneaked around the side.
Armin swallowed a lump in his throat, mentally preparing himself before coming out of cover as soon as he noticed the one of the men come out with the horses. The two MP guards tensed as they spotted him coming, they turned to face him as the man spoke out.
"Hey, you're not supposed to be here, what are you doing, cadet?"
"I-I'm just trying to find the way home, I'd appreciate it if you gave me some directions." Armin spoke out nervously.
"What's your name and affiliation?"
"Please, that's not necessary!"
Armin tensed as the soldier pulled out his flintlock pistol. "Name and affiliation! Now!"
The man suddenly heard a commotion behind, he turned around to see his partner laying face first on the ground and a girl standing above him. He moved to take a shot at her but she closed the distance between them faster than he could shoot, Mikasa swept his feet from underneath him as he fell against the ground with a thud. He tried to stand back up but ultimately found himself out cold with a bloody nose as she swiflty finished him off with a kick to the face.
Mikasa wasted no time as she began dragging the man inside to avoid detection, motioning for the blond boy to help. Once inside she began undressing them as she ordered Armin to do the same. "Come on, Armin, strip them of their gear and let's take the horses out of here."
"R-right." Armin replied.
Mikasa's eyes hardened with determination, a single thought in mind.
'Hang on Eren, we're coming.'
Seven figures slipped out of the barracks under the cover of the night, trying to be as sealthy as possible. Their uniforms were concealed under dark cloaks to avoid being noticed, moving through the town in a single file. The group would eventually make their way through the gate and to the outskirts of Trost, carefully navigating through the dimly lit streets to avoid any patrols.
"Is that the place?" Connie asked as they made it to a field where a lone house sat in the distance.
"Hmm." Sandra hummed in confirmation as they made their way towards it.
The group paused at the entrance, as Jean spoke. "Alright, Marco, Sandra and I at the front, you guys wrap around the back."
Jean pushed the door open gently, the three hesitated for a moment, their eyes adjusting to the darkness. Then, one by one, they stepped inside. Their footsteps more hesitant as they made their way through the corridor, their breathing shallower. Marco motioned for them to check upstairs but Jean shook his head, opting to finish checking the ground floor instead. The three tensed as they heard something move ahead of them, but quickly relaxed upon discovering Connie and the rest coming in through the kitchen.
"Find anything?" Jean whispered.
"Nah, nothing but dust and old furniture." Connie replied as the group met in the middle inside the living room.
*creak*
The group of seven froze as they heard sounds coming from upstairs, they immediately went on high alert as Jean and Gordon took point. Both of them drew their ODM blades as they made their way up the stairs, the other five close behind. The two boys paused when a set of four doors greeted them upstairs, both hesitant which to check first until the heard the sound again.
Gordon whispered. "That door on the left." as Jean nodded and tip toed towards it.
Marco quickly walked passed him and hugged the wall on the right before Gordon hugged the left, the two looked back at Jean as he readied himself to kick the door down. "Ready?" He asked as both boys nodded.
"Three.."
Marco clutched his swords tightly.
"Two.."
Gordon took a deep breath.
"One!"
Jean charged forward, slamming shoulder into the wood with a mighty thud, the door flew open with a loud crack, revealing a dimly lit room with a figure tied up to the wall in the center. Sasha's eyes widened in terror as she began screaming through her gag, startling the three cadets who had rushed inside. The girl shouted at them and waved her arms as best she could, as the others entered as well.
"Sasha!" Connie shouted as he was the first to reach her side and untied her.
"Ahh! Thank you! Thank you!" She exclaimed, hugging the boy tightly as tears streamed down her eyes. "I thought I was going to starve in here!" She said much to their bewilderment.
"You damned moron! You get yourself kidnapped and the first thing you can think of is food?!" Jean shouted in her face.
"How about you try getting tied up all day without food and water horse face!" Sasha stuck her tongue out.
"Guys, no time for this. Sasha, could you tell us what happened?" Marco asked.
Sasha quickly wiped away her tears as she went serious, she looked around the seven cadets before her in uncertainty. 'It could be any of one of them...'
"Sasha?" Krista tilted her head in question, confused by her behaviour.
The girl in question pondered carefully, before her shoulders sagged in acceptance, she had to trust them. "It's Floch and Ymir" She began, as their ears perked up at the names. "I was following after them to the capital because I... because I overheard them speaking the day before, they were going to kidnap Eren and take him away..." She trailed as Marco's eyes lit up with understanding.
"Ymir is with Floch?..." Krista muttered in shock.
"That's why you were acting strange this morning..." He muttered.
"So, Ymir's in on it huh? Well, looks like whatever you tried to do didn't work, they already took him. The entire military is looking for them now." Jean informed as her eyes went wide with shock.
"What?!" She shouted at him as she stood up.
"H-hey, what's the big deal?" Connie wondered.
"You guys! You guys! You don't get it! Floch and Ymir they're... they're working with the enemy!" Sasha cried out frantically much to their confusion.
"What did you just say?" Sandra asked, dread mounting.
Ice shot through their veins as Sasha uttered the next words.
"Floch and Ymir are working with the armored and colossal titan to capture Eren!"
"Don't get me wrong, It's not like I trust him. If he betrays us or goes berserk, I'll put him down without hesitation."- Levi Ackermann 850 AD.
Eren gazed out in the dark forest that surrounded them, the glow of their campfire casting an orange hue on the trees, the air thick with the scent of pine and stew. He tore his gaze away from there and towards the fire as he fixated on the crackling of the flames, the flickering light danced across the faces of his companions, casting grotesque shadows across the surrounding trees. The stew that Ymir had cooked now tasted bitter in his mouth the more he thought about his situation.
"Not bad for a simple recipe, eh?" Ymir grinned at the redhead.
"Not the best I've had, But It's definitely something." Floch replied with a voice devoid of enthusiasm.
Ymir took offense to that. "Tsk, ungrateful bastard."
"The potatoes are not cooked well enough, and the flavor could use a bit of work." The redhead went on.
"I'll dump your greasy head in the pot, how's that for flavor? dumbass." Ymir sneered.
"Are you calling me sweet? I'm flattered." Floch smirked.
Floch and Ymir sat on opposing sides to him, the nonchalant manner they carried themselves with pissing him off to no ends. They had saved his life, sure. But he couldn't understand how they could find humor in their situation, how they could sit there undisturbed. To him, every rustling leaf was a potential threat, every creaking of a branch was someone coming for his blood, was he in the wrong here?
He shook his head and took another spoonful of stew, only able to bring himself to eat due to the hunger and thirst he had endured in captivity. He couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the weight of the situation, they were now on the run, with seemingly no destintation in sight. And most confusing of all, was the person he thought had betrayed him coming to his rescue.
"Ohh, shit." Ymir suddenly cursed, her mind fixating on Floch's comments about the potatoes.
"What is it?" Floch asked.
"I forgot to tell you, I had to take care of Sasha-" Ymir was about to say before Eren cut her off.
"You two," Eren's voice quavered, "I can't take this anymore, can someone explain to me what the hell is going on!?" He demanded as both of them turned to look at him.
"That took you all evening to ask?" Ymir asked, mild irritation in her tone. "I knew you were a bit of a moron but not this much, can't you recognize when you're being rescued?"
Eren shook his head with frustration. "No, I get that! But I'm asking him, what was all of that about back in the tribunal?"
Floch's sharp eyes scanned the darkness around them, his face bereft of any concern. "That was theatre, nothing but a front I had to put on for the court in the grand scheme of things. The goal wasn't to incriminate you, but to spread the word, you'll understand soon enough." Floch replied as Eren grit his teeth in frustration.
"A front?! You convinced them that I was a monster, you lied to everyone on that report and had them believe I was their enemy! Your words endangered Armin and Mikasa's lives, I was about to be executed for crying out loud! How in the hell do you call that a front?!" Eren blew his top as he stood up enraged, spilling his bowl of stew all over the dirt.
Floch fixed him with a stern gaze, as the shifter faltered in a brief moment of doubt.
"It wasn't easy getting all that food you just wasted, shithead." Ymir bristled at the spilled stew, breaking the silence. "Not even a sorry? Or a thank you for saving your sorry ass?" She continued.
"Easy there, Ymir." Floch intervened.
Eren frowned, collapsing back down on the tree trunk he sat on and clutched his hair as his head hung low. "I'm a titan, the government is after me, and I'm potentially about lose everything I have left. I didn't ask for this, I didn't ask for this at all." He cried in a hushed tone, tears begining to leak from his eyes.
"Honestly, Eren." Floch began, catching the boy's attention. "Do you really think I was the one who convinced them to have you killed? Everyone had already made up their minds before you even stepped foot in that room, or have you forgotten what I told you that day back at camp?" The redhead asked.
Eren's eyes widened as he recalled, his mind racing back to all those years ago. An entire room filled with the stench of corruption and greed, men gathered not for the concern of the greater good, but for their interest in maintaining the status-quo. Those at the top had grown complacent- no always have been complacent, blinded by their desire for power and wealth. So if the proceedings were nothing more than a show, then he only had one thing to ask, what was he being scapegoated for?
"Those people can scream all they want but frankly their opinion means nothing, they're just old men afraid of being swept away by change. The only person whose opinion matters is the premier, and fortunately for you, he's taking his chances on us, on you." Floch informed, stunning the boy.
"What." Eren gaped, tilting his head back to gaze at the redhead.
"You heard me." Floch sighed, turning to glance at Ymir momentarily. "I guess It's about time you heard this too, so listen close. The premier and the Survey Corps are now working hand in hand to take down the titans responsible for breaching our walls, and at a time like this, information is key. We only have a few hours left to make this work."
"Go on," Ymir said.
Erwin and Floch stood outside the premier's office, waiting to be granted access. Both having calm and determined demeanors, yet Floch couldn't shake that small feeling of nervousness. He briefly gazed up at the commander, Erwin glanced back at him from the corner of his eye and gave him a reassuring nod as the two stepped inside. The premier didn't bother to look up from his paperwork as the two entered the grand office.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit? Demanding a meeting with me at this time is quite unorthodox, commander Erwin." Zackly began as the two took their seats.
"Our apologies, sir. But I believe that one should expect the unusual during difficult times, It is an urgent matter." Erwin replied, his voice carrying a sense of urgency.
"Intuition tells me you're here about the titan boy, very well then, let me hear it." The premier said, setting the paperwork aside.
The commander nodded. "That, and more. A few hours ago, we received critical information concerning the titans responsible for the breach on our walls. Cadet Floch Forster here will inform you of the details of his discovery." Erwin said, briefly shocking the stoic man.
Floch who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "A week prior to the attack on Trost, I stumbled upon a group of cadets in my class coordinating their assault on the gate, these cadets are Reiner Braun, Bertholdt Hoover, and Annie Leonhart, all of them belong to the one hundred and fourth southern cadet corps. I have proof beyond reasonable doubt that these three all possess powers akin to those of Eren Yeager, and are fully responsible for the atrocities committed against humanity five years ago."
Zackly raised a curious brow. "Have you not informed any of your superiors of the impending attack during that time?"
"I tried contacting commander Erwin, seeing that the scouts are the most qualified to deal with titans. But all attempts for communication were intercepted by a third party." Floch informed.
"A third party you say?"
"Yes, we suspect the Military Police might be involved with that discrepancy, but we do not have concrete evidence to act on this claim." Erwin said.
"I see, that is certainly concerning. Carry on, then." The premier motioned for the redhead.
"In an effort to delay any future attacks, I took a risk and struck a deal with the enemy, we now have a small window of opportunity to trick them into an ambush and end this war once and for all." Floch said as surprise briefly flashed across the older man's eyes.
Erwin took over as he began explaining the details. "If we are to trick our enemies we'll need your help during tomorrow's tribunal, and that brings us to the topic of the MP's involvement with this plan." Erwin said as Zackly quietly absorbed the information. "I believe It will be near impossible for our branches to work together on this issue and as such I request that we are allowed to act independently with your supervision."
"If I were to agree, pray tell what is required of me?" Zackly asked.
"To play along." Floch spoke.
"Play along?" He repeated curiously.
"Part of the deal that has been made with the enemy involves Eren Yeager's capture, Information plays a key role here. We'll first need to falsely inform the public that Eren Yeager has been executed, afterwich we will take him away from the hands of the MP." Erwin said.
"Where are you going with this?" The premier demanded.
Floch replied. "The MP will think It's a simple abduction, that's when you issue out a capture order on Eren and get 'tipped off' about my involvement. The military will go into a panic trying to suppress the information from the public, and our intended targets will lower their guard when they get hold of the news."
"Lying to the public about the titan's status will undoubtely cause distrust in the government." The premier noted.
Floch shook his head. "Not necessarily, we can work with the press and spin the story around to bolster support for your office. Kill two birds with one stone by keeping the MP in the dark and taking credit for working with them and the Survey Corps to capture the titans. Once the official word is out on the papers, the people will eat it up."
"I recognize that in doing this, public opinion of our captured titan will drastically improve." Zackly noted.
Erwin nodded. "Nile Dok and his men will have their hands tied, they wouldn't risk upsetting the general public by going through with the execution especially if the people were made to think that they played part in the operation."
"And what makes you think I would give clearance for this? Better yet, what makes you think you're capable of executing such a plan?" Zackly probed.
"Because you stand to gain the most from sanctioning this, and because the Military Police already had their shot at it and it nearly cost us a valuable production city. You can choose between executing Eren Yeager tomorrow or making the first step to our freedom from the titans." Floch spoke heatedly before Erwin placed a hand on his shoulder to silence him.
The commander turned to Zackly. "Humanity has been presented with a golden opportunity to press forward, you're familiar with our on-going case with the MP concerning our expeditions and the structure of our branch. With Eren's powers, we can finally begin making a push towards reclaiming our lands and repelling the titans. Our teams are well equipped and have enough experience to deal with any incidents should the need arise, captain Levi will have little to no trouble with keeping him in check." Erwin replied.
"I see, I have my reservations, of course." Zackly said, "I do not wish to place my reputation and position on the line for a plan that may not work. But, truth be told I do find your proposition appealing. So, I will not shy from taking the necessary risks, are you certain you can pull it off?"
"We're on a time crunch but it can be done." Erwin said.
Zackly took a deep breath, and stood up to check the view from his windows. "Very well, you have my support." He informed them with his back turned.
"And that's about all you need to know for now, any questions?" Floch concluded.
"Reiner...Annie?" Eren muttered under his breath in shock.
Both titan shifters seemed to have froze, hung up on the identities of the enemy titans. Floch glanced beteween the two of them, seemingly expecting this sort of reaction, he sighed again and set his bowl of stew aside as he stood up and walked towards Eren.
"That's right, Eren." Floch said, crouching down to eye level and placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "The ones who killed your mother are Annie, Bertholdt and Reiner. They were the ones who broke into Shiganshina all those years back, and they're the ones who broke into Trost a week ago." He told him as the boy's disbelief mounted.
"It... can't be..." Eren muttered in a daze much to Floch's irritation.
"Why can't It be? Haven't you had a taste of what betrayal was like just earlier today? Those eyes you looked at me with back then, can't you spare those three that same look?" Floch asked him, a glint of madness in his eyes. "Is it really that hard for you to fathom that they slept under the same roof as you and ate the same food and yet were the ones responsible for all your suffering?"
"How do you know?" Eren asked in denial, a deep frown on his face.
"Floch." Ymir called out warningly from behind, the redhead briefly glanced back at her blankly.
Eren suddenly slapped his hand away and stood up furious, prompting the redhead to redirect his attention.
"I asked you, how the hell do you know?! You come in all of a sudden and start spouting all this crap! You think I can trust you blindly? Start taking your word for everything without questioning a damn thing?! Bertholdt, Annie... Reiner. I know them, they could never do something like that! This must be some kind of mistake, some kind of-" Eren cried out desperately before freezing upon noticing Floch's murderous gaze.
"Franz, Samuel, Thomas... those are just some of the names that perished that day." Floch said calmly as he stood as well. "The supply team at HQ, those trapped civilians at townsquare, the rest of our classmates. I had to watch them all die in front of me one by one, for a while I even thought you were dead too. Telling you that It killed me on the inside to stand next to those bastards and act dumb wouldn't begin to describe the mind numbing rage I felt. I wanted nothing more than to rip their heads clean off, but even that would be going too easy on them." The words rolled off his tongue bitterly.
Floch's tone and demeanour shifted into that of disappointment. "You're still that same little kid, stubborn and naive, unable to handle the truth. I don't blame you though, I made the mistake of setting my expectations too high."
The Jaws shifter frowned as she listened intently, was that what he thought of her as well? She tensed as she heard the sound of hooves pounding on the dirt nearby, soon after a few hooded figures moved into the clearing as she stood up apprehensively. Eren was too lost in his own world to care, as he struggled to come to grips with the reality of the situation.
Floch's next words did manage to bring him out of his trance however.
"It's time to see for yourself."
Sorry for yet another cliffhanger, this story is much better when you discover it several months after It's been written LMAO, next chapter will include fights/drama/titans and what not.
Man, writing this story has affected me a lot. I was hanging out with my father and uncle and accidentally replied a full sentence in english which was very awkward. (we're french.)
Oh and axolotl, glad this story is your favourite (so far), Great predictions also. :)
