His hands moved swiftly and the cards moved between them, it is mesmerising how he could do so little and still hold all of her attention.

She could see the oil stains below his nails from when he fixed the bike, and he could almost catch how his fingers bent and twisted to make the cards move in various directions.

Trump cards popped here and there, as he kept practising something, she wasn't exactly sure what, but he was invested.

"Fuck!" he exclaimed under his breath as the cards fell from his hands for the third time in a row.

"What exactly are you trying to achieve?" Marlene asked, still looking at her boyfriend as he bent to get the cards from the floor, she wouldn't complain about that, he had a great ass and she could not help but stare at it.

Sirius sighed after he finally had the cards back in his hands and moved up looking at Marlene, "You wouldn't approve," he admitted, as he put the cards back in the deck.

"You won't know until you try me." she pointed, looking at his skilful hands go back at it.

The dark haired man looked at his hands in concentration, trying to remember what part of the trick went wrong. "It's for James." he said, but didn't exactly explain.

Marlene rolled her eyes and leaned on her seat looking at Sirius face, hoping to read his thoughts better that way. His hands were too distracting, she was just imagining them on her body instead of on the stupid cards.

"Brevity sometimes is not a virtue." she pointed, "What does James need from a bunch of cards?"

Sirius stopped playing with the cards for a moment and looked at Marlene, "Promise you won't get your knickers in a twist."

"You know I don't use any," she teased.

Sirius smirked.

"But yeah, I promise. Spill it."

"You know how James met Lily's sister and brother-in-law?" he asked, knowing she would remember but some context would be helpful, "Well they kept pointing how he was a cheap magician, you know like the muggle kind. And they are going to meet again over the weekend…"

"No," Marlene gasped and looked at the cards and then at Sirius.

"I know what you are going to say, Red already has enough trouble with her sister…"

"Forget that cow! She makes Lily's life insufferable!" Marlene said, "But why are you learning it if James is the one performing it?"

Sirius shifted the cards in his hands once more, "You are not mad that he's trying to play with Petunia and what's his name?" he asked surprised, shrugging with one shoulder, "I bet him I could learn it faster than him, if I win he will have to wear a full magician set for the date." he chuckled.

"Let me help you."
