Yuri walked back to her house and walked inside only to be met with a pair of arms as they hugged her tightly.
"There's she is! There's my Chunin!" Kisuke smiled, hugging Yuri.
"I'm not a Chunin, yet, dad. There's still the final tournament." Yuri told him.
"I can't believe you've made it this far. We're so proud of you!" Her mom spoke.
"Yeah." Yuri spoke, softly, and her father noticed.
"For someone's who's almost a Chunin, you don't seem very happy about it. Something wrong?" He asked her.
"Dad...am I weird?" Yuri asked. Her mother and Father's eyes widen a little in surprise.
"Yes." Kisuke smiled when he told her, and Yuri's eyes widen. "So am I and so is your mom. And so is anybody else even if they don't know it. Why do you ask?"
"Well, I don't like things that any girls would like." Yuri told him.
"Is it the girls at the academy?" He asked her. "I told you not to pay any mind to them."
"Yeah. Sakura said it." Yuri frowned. "I know that I'm not normal. I've always been able to see things and pick up quickly that the others couldn't."
"You're very observant. There's nothing wrong with that!" Kisuke assured her.
"There's something else though...back in the Second part of the exam. We were attacked. There was this guy who was crazy strong!" Yuri exclaimed.
"There's always going to be someone strong." Kisuke spoke.
"But this guy was out of the level of Genin." Yuri told him. "He targeted me and Sasuke, specifically. He wanted Sasuke's Sharingan, but he also said something about my eyes. Mom, I know that you don't have any powers but dad...Do we have something similar to the Hyuga's Byakugan or the Uchiha's Sharingan?"
Yuri saw her father sigh and saw her mother put her hand on his shoulder.
"I think it's time she knew, dear." Her mother spoke. Yuri's eyes widen.
"D-Do we?" She sputtered. Kisuke looked back to her.
"Yes. But you are still too young to activate yours yet. There will come a time when it will. From what I've known, my family clan goes back even centuries before Shinobi even came about, its name long forgotten. Like you've been showing signs of, our eyes can see things that other people can't normally see. It is called, Ma no koukei, or True Sight."
"Wow." Yuri said, stunned. "I can't believe it. This is amazing!"
"Yes, it can be amazing, but with such power, there can be dark." Kisuke told her.
"And what's that?" Yuri questioned, a little worried.
"Something that I hope you will never have to use it." He told her. Yuri stayed silent.
"But, let's focus on your training." Kisuke smirked. Yuri saw her mother's eyes widen a little.
"You're not really thinking-She's not ready for that level of jutsu yet!" she shouted.
"She's ready, Suzume." He spoke. "I was about her age when I learned it."
"What is it!?" Yuri asked, impatiently. Her father stood up and started to leave the room.
"We can't do it here. It's not safe to do it here in the village." He told her. "Follow me." Yuri quickly got up and followed after her father and he led her out of the village and into the forest, to a small river.
"Are you going to show me a secret family jutsu?!" Yuri asked him, excitedly.
"We'll get to it, eventually. But, first I want to show you some new techniques." He told her and started to head towards the river. The water gently flowed as it washed up against the creek. He still continued to head towards it.
"Dad, you're going to get wet." Yuri said before her eyes widen when she saw him, walking on the water.
"The trick is to keep your chakra at your feet and to balance it. Just like tree climbing. Go ahead and try it!" He told her. Yuri walked over and made a hand sign and began to focus her chakra towards her feet. Then she slowly walked and took a step on the water. Yuri felt her foot slowly slipping in and quickly concentrated before stabilizing and regaining her balance. Then she placed her other foot on the water and slowly began to walk over to her father.
"I'm think I'm getting the hang of it!" She smiled before her face was splashed with some water. "D-Dad!" She sputtered in shock, spitting out some of the water.
"Now the next lesson, this my be tricky. I'm still learning it myself. Something that I've invented." Kisuke spoke.
"A new jutsu?" Yuri questioned. Kisuke smiled and Yuri saw him reach down towards the water. She saw his hand emitting some chakra and the water slowly began to flow upwards towards his hand. Then her father began to move his arms and the water followed his movement.
"What's it called?" Yuri asked.
"I haven't thought of a name yet." He told her.
"It looks like your bending water." Yuri told him.
"Water bending? Hmm..." Kisuke thought for a moment before he grinned. "I like it!"
"This is almost like the chakra strings Kankuro use to move his puppet." Yuri told him.
"Kankuro? Is he one of your friends?" Her father asked her.
"I wouldn't exactly call him a friend, more like a pest." Yuri told him. "He lives back at the Sand Village with Temari and Gaara." Her father stayed silent before he spoke.
"Do you miss it there?"
"Yes, but I also like it here too! This is my home as well!" Yuri replied before deciding to change the subject. "Can I try the water bending jutsu?"
"Go ahead." Her father nodded. Yuri began to concentrate her chakra to her hand. For a while, nothing happened. She tried again.
"Come on!" Yuri concentrated, harder. Then the water slowly began to rose upwards. Yuri gasped in shock.
"I'm doing it!" She smiled.
"That's good! Now, try to make a bubble!" Kisuke told her. Yuri brought her hands together, focusing her chakra to both of her hands. The water moved when she tried to make it into a small sphere. It wasn't perfect and was a little wonky. Then the bubble began to grow unstable and popped, splashing Yuri in the face.
"Oh..." She said, disappointed.
"That's okay. You'll get the hang of it with some practice." Kisuke told her. "I think it's time that I've taught you the family secret jutsu." Yuri's eyes widen a little excited.
"What is it!?"
Kisuke walked away, getting out of the water and Yuri followed him and they walked back onto land. Kisuke turned to her. "It's right here!"
Yuri looked around but saw nothing. "There's nothing here, dad."
"There's nothing here, yet." Kisuke smiled then bit his thumb, drawing a little symbol on the ground and performed a hand sign and slammed his hand on the symbol. "Summoning Jutsu!"
There was a loud pop and a cloud of smoke appeared. As it cleared, Yuri's eyes widen. In front of her was a large 20 foot grey lizard with a leash around its neck, to ride on. Yuri stared in awe at the large creature and the lizard stared back down at her with it's yellow eyes, looking almost hungry.
"You always said that you wanted a pet!" Kisuke smiled before he noticed that Yuri had vanished from her spot and looked around. "Yuri?" Then his eyes widen when he saw her walking over towards the large lizard.
"What's his name?" She asked and reached out to pet it. Kisuke's eyes widen in alarm.
"Yuri! Get back here!" He shouted.
"Huh? Why?" Yuri turned back to him, confused. The lizard made his move and opened its maw, getting ready to chomp down to bite Yuri in two.
"Sakishima, stop!" Kisuke shouted and before her father could jump in to grab her, Yuri quickly turned around and jumped into the air and slammed her feet down on the lizard's head. It fell down with a thud, knocked out. Her father stopped in his tracks, looking at Yuri in shock. Yuri smiled and bent down, petting the lizard on the head.
"So, his name is Sakishima?" She asked her father. Kisuke blinked, still stunned.
"I can't believe you beat him in under one minute! You even beat MY record!" He sputtered.
"What do you mean?" Yuri asked.
"In order to have Sakishima to listen to you and to be under his contract, you have to beat him in a brawl under five minutes. Mine, was three minutes."
Yuri heard a low rumble and felt something wet slide across her chin when the lizard had woken up and licked her. Yuri laughed.
Her father's eyes widen a little in surprise. "I don't believe it."
"What?" Yuri asked.
"Sakishima won't just do that to anyone. You must have really made an impression on him. Normally, he would try to eat you. He doesn't listen to anyone and is very stubborn. And he can climb up hard terrain and walk on water."
"So, I can be in his contract then?" Yuri asked.
"Yes." Kisuke nodded and a scroll poofed into his hands and he set it down on the ground. Yuri walked over and saw a name written on the scroll that faded and hard to make out. Then she saw her father's, next to an empty spot. "Just sign your name here in blood."
Yuri bit her thumb and signed her name, signing the contract.
"Now the contract's fulfilled. I'm going to head back to the village. You stay here and train for a bit and I'll come back and get you." Kisuke told her. Yuri nodded.
"Okay." Her father and Yuri began to practice on her training.
She did some punches to trees and throwing some kunais at them, managing her chakra, walking on the water, but still struggled with the water bending jutsu. Sakishima lazed about, lying on the ground as he slept. Then Yuri paused for a moment when she saw something in the corner of her eye. Yuri jumped out of the water and landed in a tree and moved away some of the leaves. There was a small brown eyeball floating in front of her. It widens a little almost startled.
Yuri blinked and moved in closer and poked it. It crumbled away, turning into sand and the wind blew it away. Yuri frowned, thinking. Sand? There was only one person who used it. Gaara.
He had been spying on her this entire time.
