Elena's eyes slowly began to open, a loud gasp escaping her lips as she took in all the air her lungs could manage; being carried by a vampire at full speed without even a moments break, meant a lack of oxygen, resulting in unconsciousness. She hated that.

That was the last thing she remembered, the crash of another body slamming against hers, being grabbed as abruptly as if she was the last candy bar on the shelf, an almost urgency to the attack. She immediately scanned the area, quickly realising she hadn't come too as hastily as the thought, her eyes still displaying in double vision; she clung at her hair, pressing her hand to her head and trying to make sense of her surroundings.

When her vision cleared and she saw where she was, her stomach instantly twisted into knots and a hard lump formed in her throat; she was sat up on a bed, a rather regal bed at that, it was covered in a red silk bed spread and the frame itself looked to be made from the finest oak in a four poster style. The room itself was the largest she had ever seen and it just screamed royalty at her.

"Where am I?" She muttered weakly under her breath, her hand still holding her head in attempt to relieve herself of the lingering migraine.

Elena stood from the bed, her feet a little wobbly at first but she soon found her balance moments later; she soon started to realise where she was, who her captor likely was and why she had been taken in the first place.

Forcing herself to swallow the hard lump in her throat, her fight or flight instincts immediately activating, she raced towards the door, pulling and twisting at the handle to no avail, her breathing was laboured and her heart pounding against her chest.

She tried the window next, leaping towards it and trying to lift it from its hook and lock - no luck, she was trapped.

A breeze of wind caressed at the back of her neck, making the small hairs stand; she turned slowly, her gaze shifting from the window to what she assumed would be her captor trailing behind her but when she looked, there was no-one there, only that the door that was locked just seconds ago, was now open.

All logic seemed to escape her in those moments and she immediately ran from the room, and she kept running through the long hallway until she found the staircase. She grabbed onto the banister and practically jumped down them.

"Oh, Elena," She heard a voice call to her, musing.

A small gasp escaped her lips and she froze momentarily, instantly recognising that voice, the one that instilled fear in so many around her but she kept running, she could see the door that would prove to be her exit, she only had to run a bit more.

"Did you think it would be that easy, luv?" The voice taunted to her in a thick British accent, the amusing tone held with a smirk that she could only visualise in her head, "Come on now, Elena, you can't be that stupid."

She felt a gust of wind fly past her and she turned to follow it; it happened again and again, and she felt herself twisting and turning, further adding to her torment. She couldn't run, she could barely move for the speed of her captor tormenting her.

"Stop," She spoke so quietly that even a whisper would be louder; she clung at her hair as she kept spinning around, trying to keep her cautious eyes on her surroundings.

"Well, where's the fun in that?" The voice was behind her, it was still and she could feel his eyes glaring daggers into her back; she turned slowly and there he was, standing firmly with a daring smirk etched onto his facial features, "You're not going anywhere, dearest Elena."

His words alone struck fear straight into her heart, she was rendered speechless for what felt like an eternity; in reality, it was maybe a minute, at most.

"Klaus," She had to be brave and keep her held high, she wouldn't be made to feel helpless, regardless of who stood before her, "Why am I here?"

He remained silent, taking a few small steps towards her, the gap between them becoming dangerously thin; he could still hear the quake in her voice at the mere mention of his names on her lips and how her heart was beating fiercely from the fear she had for him. But he admired her bravery, although it was frivolous, at best.

"If I told you that, sweetheart," He paused briefly to lock his gaze onto hers, his facial features suddenly stiffening and radiating his usual seriousness, "I'd have to kill you."

"Right," She pursed her lips together, shaking her head slightly before spinning on her heel, heading straight for the front door; she knew he wouldn't hurt her, not definitively, or he'd never be able to make another hybrid again, "I'm leaving now."

"Don't push me, dearest doppelganger, you won't like me when I'm mad," He taunted her, his voice silky and filled with pleasure.

Using his speed, he blurred in front of her, his body becoming like a brick wall to her fragile and petite figure; he grabbed onto the top of her arms, squeezing slightly tighter than he should but his rage overcame him, it always did; he watched as she winced and tried to fight back but it was futile, it took him seconds to return her to the bedroom she originally found herself captured in.

Elena lost her balance and fell to the floor when Klaus released her, watching as he locked the door shut behind him but he remained in the room; watching as she scrambled to her feet.

"Would it help if I offered my sincerest apologies for this inconvenience I'm causing you?" He began to pace slowly around the room, his hands connected behind him, carefully watching the doppelganger and inspecting every move she made, he barely gave her a moment to speak before he continued on his rant, "But wait, what about the inconveniences you have caused me? Raising Mikael, releasing my mother back into this world, daggering my sister, withholding your blood, need I continue?"

She looked at him in utter disbelief, watching as he moved around her, she could feel a sudden onset of nausea begin to rise in her stomach, "What? You're joking, right? After everything you've done to me and my family, everything you've put us through.."

"I was willing to let bygones be bygones, luv," He quipped, that smirk creeping back up in the corner of his lips, " Considering we're going to be spending an awful lot of time together."

"You think you're just going to be able to keep me here without anyone noticing?" She spoke with a hint of confidence in her tone of voice, "My friends will know I'm gone soon."

"They are already aware, Elena, they've inspected every inch of Mystic Falls trying to locate your whereabouts, they're frantic with worry for you," he responded, only heightening her confusion further, "You've been here for 2 days, sweetheart, sleeping peacefully."

"What?" Her lips parted slightly, unable to fathom the words he had just spoke to her, "How? How is that possible? You took me last night-"

"Let me refresh your memory," He began pottering around the room, picking up books, moving things around slightly as to keep his hands busy and her distracted, "The night I took you, after Damon turned the Bennett witch into a vampire, I was made aware that her connection to the spirits had been severed and she would be weakened to the point of her inevitable death, but unlike the fools I suffer around me, I don't believe that will be her final undoing, she will return and finally finish what she set out to do all those centuries ago."

"So everything Bonnie and Abby are going through will be for nothing?" Elena pondered out loud, her gaze flickering to the floor, guilt overcoming her.

"We digress," he waved his hand slightly at the notion of trying to sympathise with her, "I decided it best if you were hidden away silently, locked in this room in a long slumber, so when the Salvatore's inevitably came snooping, they wouldn't be able to sense you."

"You had a witch spell me," She scoffed lightly, feeling her eyes roll as if it was a reflex to her now.

"Not just you, I had her perform a protective spell on this room so no other witch could locate you here," he responded.

"You're a psychopath," she had no control of her statement, it slipped through her lips uncontrollably and she could feel the anger building up within her, "You can't just kidnap people, spell them and hold them captive, I can't actually belie-"

"Enough," he spat, his patience thinning, just as he was about to respond with his usual threats, he snapped his head towards the door so his ear could be pointing towards it, he had heard a sound that distracted him, "as much as I am enjoy your squabbling, Elena, I must take my leave now, please do keep the noise levels down in here, I'd like to hear nothing, not even a creak otherwise I'd hate to have to spell you asleep again."

"Wait, no, stop," she pleaded, following him to the door, "You can't leave me here!"

"Don't beg, Elena, it doesn't suit you," his gaze locked onto hers, flashing her a glimmer of the hybrid yellow hues to remind her who was in charge and not to cross him.

"At least tell me what has happened over the past 2 days whilst I've been held here against my will?" She spat in response, her arms folding across her chest.

"All in due time," and before she knew it, he was gone, the door was locked and the room was empty, only her thoughts readily available for company.

She stood perfectly still, motionless and without even a blink, her eyes had widened and the nausea in her stomach had only worsened; she was unable to move, speak and it even felt uncomfortable to breath for fear of making a noise. She feared him, now more than ever; he held her hostage for no apparent reason, ready to dangle the lives of her loved ones in front of her as if they where puppets he could play with as he saw fit, she was surprised he hadn't threatened her family yet but it was inevitable, even unspoken at this point, she knew were she stood with The Original hybrid.

Her train of thought was suddenly broken by a crash and a loud bang coming from downstairs; she didn't want to move but she couldn't quite make out what was being said, all she could hear was an enraged Klaus and who she assumed was Rebekah.

"What have I got myself into now?" She thought to herself rhetorically, only time would be able to answer that question.
