Elena's POV.
A bump in the road caused her body to jolt and wake her unexpectedly, she slowly opened her eyes and was met with only searing pain radiating across her whole body but her neck suffered the main cause of her pain.
Everything was fuzzy, her eyes, her mind, her body failed her as she tried to shake herself free from the discomfort... but then she realised who she was with, the final moments before her fainting came back to her and the image of the hybrid attacking flashed across her mind.
A loud gasp escaped her lips as she forced herself to sit up, fighting the pain she felt and letting the adrenaline take over; she was scared, anxious and completely helpless in that moment.
It was daylight and she was in a car that was travelling faster than she was comfortable with, had she really passed out all night? What happened after the attack?
So many thoughts raced across her mind but it came to sudden a stop when she saw him, driving carelessly and without a worry, completely negating the fact that he had kidnapped her again!
The fight back came instantaneously, she kicked at the doors, tried pulling at the door handles and screaming until she was blue in the face; she punched at the windows, tried to roll them down, flung herself against the door but nothing would budge them.
"That's enough now, Elena," he smirked, "the doors are locked, or had you not realised that as you attempted to wrestle with them?"
But she said nothing, she only kept screaming and upholding her fight against the car, even it was futile, she was not prepared to go any further with the deranged hybrid.
"I mean it, luv, I would stop if I was you," his smirk was fading and his frustration heightening but the fact that she didn't care only made him worse.
"Let me out of here," she yelled at the top of her voice, her feet colliding with the back of his chair as she repeatedly kicked at it; she could see his anger building but she didn't care, what more could she lose?
"I'm warning you, Elena," his hands were gripping at the steering wheel, his breathing deep and his brow furrowed as he felt the thump of the chair against his back.
"Let me go," she continued to scream, refusing to let up on her chance to make him see reason, like that was ever going to happen.
Instead, he growled louder than normal and slammed on the breaks, bringing her body crashing into the seats in front of her; before she could even move, he was out of the car and pulling her from it, he pressed her body forcefully against the car and towered over as if she was a mere insect, easily crushed.
Which, of course, in his eyes, she was.
Elena didn't know how to respond to his acts of violence towards her anymore, she had been hurt, scared, intimidated, threatened and thrown about as if she was his personal punching bag; her pain levels were to high to fight but watching as he stared daggers into her eyes made her fearful and uncomfortable, an involuntary response.
"You lied to me, Elena, you attempted to trick me with me your false deal and escape, I could have killed everyone you cared about without a second thought and had you spelled into a slumber once more," he paused briefly, his hands squeezing tighter against her arms as he pushed her body as far against the car as he could, almost enjoying the wince that escaped her lips, his face nearing hers to feel the shaky breath against his skin, " I drove all night, Elena, we're far, far away from Mystic Falls and the family you care so much about but not without leaving one of my hybrids there, watching Jeremy and Bonnie go about there lives, just waiting for my call to finish them."
"Don't.." she trailed off, her voice weak and her will even weaker, she had no fight left in her; the pain he was bringing her, not just the physical but the emotional pain was too much, she'd reached her limit and she gave in, her body releasing the tension and her gaze locking onto his, the evil he had etched into his features made her whole body flutter with pure fear, "fine, I don't care anymore, just leave them alone."
He stared at her intently as her Petrova fire started to fade, something he had not witnessed from a doppelgänger before; he smirked, a light snicker escaping his lips as he released just one of his hands from the grip he had of her arm, bringing his hand to her cheek and gently pushing a stray hair from her face that had stuck to the corner of lip behind her ear, the sharp breath that she took at the contact bringing a pleasure to him that indicated he had won, "now, now, don't fret, my sweet Elena, we're going to have so much fun together."
She dared to think what fun meant to Klaus, her mind couldn't even comprehend the twisted events he had planned for her, her imagination could only stretch so far and she already felt sick to her stomach at the images.
But something about the way he touched her face brought a heat to her cheeks, she thought if his lips came any closer to her face then she would be powerless against him; he could feed from her at will, whenever he chose fit and the danger surrounding him made her chest tighten, forcing her breathing to stop and the panic to set in. But she suppressed it, she needed to find her strength again.
Klaus finally pulled away from her, his eyes averting from hers and back onto the car; he opened the door and nodded his head towards the passenger seat up front, urging her to climb in.
Elena obliged, sliding into the front seat carefully and watching him as he slammed it shut, appearing next to her in the drivers seat and taking off within seconds, he was too fast.
She just gazed out of the window, defeated and deflated, only the love she had for her family keeping her from completely giving in; she knew one day she would get back to them, whether it be in a day or a year, this wouldn't be the end of her and it certainly wouldn't be the last she saw of them.
Several hours later, night had fell and they had arrived at their destination; she felt a nudge on her arm and she awoke with a small gasp, she must have dozed off at some point.
"Come on now, luv, we're here," Klaus spoke as he stopped the car and removed the keys from the ignition, turning to face her before continuing to speak, "keep your head down and don't speak."
She shook the overwhelming fatigue from her body before turning to look at her surroundings, they where in a car park at the back of what appeared to be a hotel, she'd half expected to be arriving at another secluded house somewhere, miles from any form of civilisation. She was pleasantly surprised.
"Right," she weakly spoke, nodding her head once before following him out of the car, he was instantly at her side before walking through the car park to the entrance of the hotel.
Before they entered, he brought her to a sudden stop by grabbing at her elbow; he removed his jacket and slipped it over her shoulders, bringing the collar up to her neck and covering her bite wound, "we don't want to stand out now, do we, sweetheart?"
Elena wrapped the jacket tightly around her, embracing the warmth the suede fabric was bringing her, ensuring that it covered her bites adequately.
Klaus entered the hotel, immediately taking her to the check in desk, "your finest room available, when you're ready."
The receptionist look tired of entitled pricks and there demands, like she had to drop everything to meet there every need, she looked exhausted; she typed away at the computer and scrolled through the rooms, "only the penthouse is available on such short notice, should I book it?"
"Perfect," a smile spread across his lips, the sincerity of it to be questioned but it was better than the growl she was used to seeing; she took the credit card he had slid over to her and input the details into the system, "it will be required for the foreseeable future until I can make other arrangements, darlin'."
"Of course, sir " she responded, before swiping the card across the machine and handing him a slip to sign; he obliged and she grabbed the keys, handing them to Klaus before offering him a smile, "enjoy your stay at the Palace Royale Hotel."
"I'm sure we will, luv," there was that smirk again as his eyes flickered from her to Elena, who had remained perfectly still and silent the entire time; he pressed his hand to her lower back and waved his arm towards the elevator, encouraging her to follow.
The receptionist looked at the Gilbert girl and Elena caught her gaze momentarily, she seemed almost like she was envious; to her untrained eyes, she was accompanied by an unreasonably attractive man that made her loins scream by just his mere glance at her, she was wrapped in his coat and clearly money wasn't an issue, she was enjoying the finer things in life whilst she had to work the desk to make ends meat. But only if she knew, if only.
Once they were in the hotel room, Elena immediately went to the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind her; she flung the jacket from her and let it hit the floor. She wanted to scream and cry but she wouldn't allow him the pleasure, she just stood in front of the mirror, inspecting the bite wounds and bruising on her neck and arms, a small shudder radiating down her spine.
She switched the shower on and turned the temperature up, watching as the water crashed against the tiles; she removed her clothes and stepped into the water, letting it wash over her and relieving her off the dried blood that had trailed down her neck, across her collar bone and onto her chest. The steam started to fill the room as it continued to wash away the marks the events from the last few days had left engrained on her, the dirt, the grass stains, the blood and the tears that had dried on her face.
An hour later, she had decided to step out, her skin had shrivelled enough and she was ready to see what Klaus had in store for her first; she wrapped a towel around herself, gazing at herself in the mirror once again, she felt cleaner and fresher, her strength returning and she could face him.
She exited the bathroom, her long, wet hair dangling down her back as she walked through the penthouse, catching the attention of the hybrid, his eyes followed her all the way to the bedroom before she slammed the door shut. Her skin was smooth and it glistened, his eyebrow cocked when he saw how much skin she had revealed, was this her intention? To allow him to see so much of her? He was curious about the sweet doppelgänger, to say the least.
Elena had slammed the door shut, leaning against it for a long moment and taking a deep breath; maybe she was being dramatic but she was ready to show she wasn't giving up, that she had enough fight left in her to get through the games.
That, and well, she had no clothes with her, her only option was the dressing gown that was supplied by the hotel, that she eventually found hanging in the closet.
She slipped into it but left the towel around her neck, catching her loose strands and absorbing the water. Scrunching at the ends as she exited the bedroom, she joined Klaus in the sitting room of the penthouse, barely even looking at him and focusing the attention on the room itself.
"Is this the first penthouse you've ever stayed in, sweetheart?" He asked, as he poured out two shots of the bourbon he had room service deliver whilst she showered, trust Klaus to order the whole bottle.
She watched as she neared him, bringing her the glass and offering it to her; she took it from his hand and tapped it against his when he offered her a clink, taking a large swig before she spoke, "yes, I haven't really left Mystic Falls before, never far enough to warrant the need of an extravagant hotel suite."
"Aren't you going to ask where we are?" He asked, bringing the glass to his lips once again, his eyes scanning over her carefully.
"Does it matter?" She spoke, followed by another swig; she thought carefully about her next move but decided to follow through, she walked towards the bottle of bourbon and grasped it, filling her glass and taking a seat on the silver plush sofa, "besides, I think it's time we talk, I have a lot of questions that need answering."
He smirked playfully, taking a seat on the sofa opposite, "then by all means, ask away, I am an open book."
She finished the remainder of the bourbon in her glass in one swift drink and poured herself another one; at this point, she was half tempted to just ditch the crystal glass and take it straight from the bottle but she had to have at least an ounce of class.
"Well, for starters, I want to know what happened during the 2 days I was-" she paused momentarily, taking a small breath another small swig from her glass, "asleep, as you put it."
"Keep it up, sweetheart and we might need another bottle," he placed his glass on the table, urging her for a refill; she obliged and slid the glass back towards him, enjoying the slight buzz she was starting to get from the liquor.
"Tell me, Klaus," she almost demanded but instead, it came across as desperation.
"Hmm," he spoke, his gaze not leaving her as he toyed her with his pondering, swigging the bourbon and smirking, "very well, but get ready, luv, you're not going to like it."
