Chapter II: The First Canary.
Part II: The Canary War.
Back where Sara had left her friends, Batman jumped into the air and threw a batarang at his target, just as he was hit hard by a sonic cry which flung him into a parked car, smashing the windscreen as he landed on it.
The one responsible was none other than this Earths version of Tina Boland aka Blackbird, who was smirking at the two heroes evily, even as Green Arrow fired at the Evil Canary to distract her so that he could assist his friend.
Laughing evilly, Blackbird said "I have to admit Queen, seeing you and the Bat die again is something I only ever dreamt of." she opened her mouth to let out another cry, only to be knocked into a wall by another cry hitting her side on.
"Keep dreaming, Bitch!" The White Canary told her, making her appearance.
Blackbird recovered quickly and saw the one who dared to attack her. "Sara?! Why the hell are you attacking me?!" she asked incredulously. Then she noticed the colour of the blondes outfit. "And why are you back in white?"
But Sara just sneered as she stood between Boland and her friends. "My doppelganger really has lost it if she's willing to work with you Boland."
Realising that this wasn't the Sara she knew, Blackbird's glare grew. "You're the one whose lost it if you're going to stand with enemies of the Regime." And with that she unleashed a powerful sonic cry, only for Sara to meet it with her own cry.
It quickly became apparent that Sara's Canary Cry was stronger (her cry having become a genuine meta power rather than tech based after the Crisis), as she was able to push Tina's back, knocking her back and allowing her to get closer to deliver a punch before she could recover.
It quickly became apparent that, while a better fighter than her Earth-Prime counterpart, this Blackbird was still nothing to the White Canary. As a result, Sara only had a minimal struggle before she knocked the other woman out, but not before Blackbird let out another cry that just hit Oliver hard enough to fling him into the same car that Bruce was on.
The White Canary looked to the unconscious Blackbird with a smirk. "Looks like I'm resisting arrest. Again. Daddy'd be proud." she joked as she turned back to her friends.
"You okay, Ollie?" she asked her oldest friend helping him to his feet. She looked to see Bruce getting up from where he'd fallen on the police car. She was about to go check on him when Oliver got her attention.
"Um, Sara?" The Green Arrow nodded over her shoulder, causing her to turn and gasp slightly.
It was her! Dressed in an outfit more reminiscent of her original Canary suit consisting of black leather pants with a fishnet like pattern, a black corset under a black leather jacket. In her hands were a pair of escrima sticks.
Black Canary Sara smirked. "Someone say my name?" she asked rhetorically. The blonde cast a momentarily glance towards Oliver and looked sad.
Sara passed a look to Oliver and nodded to Bruce, before turning back to her doppelganger. "I have to admit, I'd forgotten how good I looked in black." she complimented, passing an appreciative glance to the other Canary's cleavage.
Other Sara shrugged with a smirk, knowing what her counterpart was thinking. "What can I say? Thought it was time for a change." she gave the White Canary her own appreciative look. "Though we definitely fill out that suit very nicely."
Sara smirked, but behind her Oliver rolled his eyes in exasperation. "Fight now! Flirt later!"
Both Saras pouted. "Spoilsport." they said in unison, before rushing each other. They quickly found themselves to be evenly matched.
As the two fought, Sara-Prime was able to get a good look at her counterpart, noticing that the other blond seemed older than herself. At least few years or so.
Which is it why was so surprising that she was able to get such a quick advantage in the fight over the Black Canary. The elder Canary should've been the more experienced fighter yet, Sara found herself on equal if not stronger footing.
Eventually, however she was able to push her doppelganger back enough that she was able to get a good enough to knock her out. And as the Black Canary fell to the floor, the frowning White Canary was joined by her friends.
It was the Green Arrow who asked her a question. "You okay?" Oliver had noticed the frown on his friends face and felt worried. Sara turned to look at Oliver and she knew he was thinking the same as her.
It was too easy.
Bruce stepped up to her other side, his Bat Claw in his hand and was clearly damaged somehow. But before he could speak, they heard the familiar sound of a police siren. Not wanting to deal with the cops of this world, he said plainly "We need to move." And with that, the three vigilantes were gone from the scene.
It was as they were cutting through back alleys and side streets that Sara spoke up. "Running from the cops, haven't done this in a while." she said dryly, noting that it was something all three of them had experience in from their early days.
At that moment they could hear the sadly voice of Blackbird calling. "Sara! Wake up! They couldn't have gone far."
Picking up the pace down a street with limited lighting, Oliver asked a question that all of them were wondering. "Aren't there any heroes on this Earth?"
But his question was not answered by one of his companions. "Over here!" a slightly familiar voice called out. The trio looked to see a figure at the entrance of an alley, dressed in a familiar blue and white parka and weilding a bulky gun.
"Snart?" Sara asked in surprise, but with limited options they had no choice. Entering the alleyway, they got a good look at their supposed rescuer.
It was definitely Leonard Snart, but different from the one that they knew. His Parka was a darker shade of blue and his goggles were replaced by a more high-tech visor, while he wore a pair of gauntlet like gloves on his hands.
Upon them passing him, the alternate Captain Cold pressed something on his gauntlet causing some devices on either side of the entrance to blink and create a mirrored wall at the entrance. Watever it did, it clearly worked as Blackbird and Black Canary passed them with barely a glance.
"We're clear." he said into his gauntlet, before turning to the heroes of Earth-Prime. "You lot took your time. When Slade said you'd arrived, I expected you to be a bit quicker!" he growled in a gruff voice.
"Slade?" Oliver had to ask, not expecting to hear his brothers name.
But Sara interrupted before he could continue. "Later. You were expecting us? How? Who brought us here?! And what the hell is going on?!" she demanded in rapid succession.
There was a sudden and familar woosh from behind them, and Snart nodded. "Why don't you ask my Bosses?" he suggested. The heroes turned and gasped at what they saw.
It was the Flash! Definitely a Barry Allen Flash, they could tell but in a much more armoured suit than they were familar with. The only bit of skin they could see was his mouth, and his eyes - which had always been their Barry's most expressive feature - were covered by white lenses, preventing those who knew him from knowing what he was thinking.
Sara, who had worried about her husband's doppelganger since she saw the state of STAR Labs here, felt relief at seeing that he seemed relatively ok. Though she did notice a bit of scaring to the right of his mouth.
Then she saw his companion. It was a Green Arrow, but not Oliver. No this one was clearly female.
Her face was covered by a green hood and a mask but she was still easy to recognise. Especially when one of them was her big brother. "Speedy?!" Oliver asked in shock.
The alternate Thea looked at him with a moment of pain before her face hardened. "Don't call me that!" She growled out, sounding very much like her brother.
The alternate Flash squeezed her hand in comfort, before turning back to Snart. "Len, get us out of here before the patrols double back. I don't want us to be out in the open for too long." he ordered in a rough voice.
Len nodded before walking to the wall and placing four disk like objects on it in the shape of a door. He pressed a button on his gauntlet causing the disks to light up and then create a full length mirror that seemed to ripple, almost like water.
Recognising it as similar to the powers of Mirror Master, the Heroes of Earth-Prime were startled slightly. With barely a passing glance to them, Thea jumped through first. As she vanished, Barry nodded to the Mirror Portal.
"Come on. I wouldn't have brought you all here if I wanted to kill you." he told them bluntly.
Realising that they had zero options, the Trio jumped trhough. First Oliver, then Bruce and finally Sara who cast a brief look to her alternate husband before jumping in.
The Flash of Earth-13 nodded to Cold before following. Snart pressed a button and jumped through himself just before his old friends Mirror-Tech deactivated and self-destructed.
Earth-Prime.
JL Watchtower.
With the villains rounded up and the nuke safely disposed of, the League got to work searching for their colleagues and friends.
And the Trickster.
Superwoman and Superman stepped up to where Jesse West aka Quick and Ray Palmer aka the Atom were trying to find their friends. "Nothing yet?" Kara asked with hope in her voice.
But Ray shook his head. Idly he was glad that his new suit allowed him to do that since, unlike the original, it was from a light weight nano mesh and almost like super tights suit than an armour even though it still had all the bells and whistles of the armour he'd built.
"The energy signature from the park doesn't match anything in our database." he reported calmly but worried also.
Quick spoke up. "Why don't I just vibrate at the same frequency as the energy signature and follow them?" she asked.
But Superman had to shoot that thought down. "Because we don't know if they went somewhere dangerous."
"Or if they went anywhere at all." Cisco Ramone aka Vibe said as he removed his goggles. He had been trying to vibe for their lost friends but had been unable. "Superman's right. It's too risky."
Kara turned to her friend. "Anything?" she asked him hopefully. Her hopeful expression fell, however, when Cisco shook his head.
"No. I can tell they're ok, I just can't seem to get a lock on them for some reason." he said.
The Woman of Steel sighed sadly, before turning to an equally worried Selina Wayne aka Catwoman who was standing nearby. Placing her hand on the other womans shoulder, Kara tried to give her comfort. "We'll find them, Selina." she insisted.
Selina let out a worried breath and nodded. "I know, Blue. I'm just worried about what I'm going to say to-" she began to say bit was interrupted by a small hand patting her knee.
She looked down at the sound of a sweet little voice asking "Mommy?" to see the bright blue eyes of her baby girl looking at her innocently.
Helena Tabitha Wayne was born nine months after the Crisis of 2019, and had been the most precious treasure of Selina and Bruce ever since.
Now 4 almost 5 years old, she had short black hair and was dressed in a yellow t-shirt and purple dungarees. In her hand was her precious stuffed toy, a stuffed Batman plushie that her mommy had given her as a joke after she was born.
Bruce had been annoyed but had later told his little princess that Bat-Plushie would protect her when Daddy was not there.
Once she had her Mommy's attention, Helena asked her in a voice of pure innocence "Where's Daddy?"
Selina had to think quickly but was able to think of an appropriate answer to keep her little girl from worrying. Getting down on her knees so that she was eye level with her daughter "Daddy had to go save some people, but he'll be home to read you a story before you go to sleep." she said, hoping against hope that she wasn't going to disappoint her little girl.
Helena's bright smile in response just made her feel worse. She then kissed her Mommy on the cheek before scampering off to play with her bestest friends, Mia and Nora under the watchful gaze of her big brother, Damien and his best friend Jon.
As Helena ran off, Selina looked to Superwoman. "Please don't make me a liar." she begged before walking off to watch over the kids to distractthem.
Kara shared a worried look at her cousin, before turning to the three humans. "Find them." she softly ordered.
The Justice League had work to do.
Looks to the date of the last update. Winces.
Really sorry about the how long its been. I've been busy lately and have had to deal with other story ideas that wouldn't leave me alone.
I hope to get this fic done but i honestly don't know how long it'll take. Please don't rush me.
Chapter Notes:
Also i changed Batman's actor again. He is now played by Jensen Ackles aka Dean from Supernatural, Jason Teague from Smallville and Batman in the Tomorrowverse animated movies. Hopefully this one will stick. Selina is still played by Ashley Scott aka Hunterss from Birds of Prey.
Bruce's new suit is the Gotham Knights Batsuit - the game! Not the crappy tv show!
Ray's new suit is more like the classic comics suit.
Snart is wearing his Injustice 2 suit.
Barry-13 is dressed in his DCEU suit. but how i described it.
Hope to have the next one up... at some point. Not sure when though.
