Marinette was currently in her bedroom watching some memes about Cat Noir on her bed with Tikki.
"Check out the hilarious new cat memes featuring Cat Noir. They're purr-fect."
Marinette laughed but noticed that Tikki wasn't her normal cheerful self. "You're so flighty tonight, Tikki. Whatcha got your mind on?"
"The kwami Nooroo's transmission is…" she began.
Marinette gasped. "Hawk Moth's and Lord Sprite's kwami?"
"Yes," Tikki nodded. "He's celebrating his thirty-five hundredth cycle today… all by himself."
"We will free him from Hawk Moth one of these days, I promise," Marinette promised. "After all, Lord Sprite is proof that we'll get it back someday.
"There may just be a faster solution," said Tikki.
"Huh?" Marinette blinked.
"Kwamis are able to communicate with their kind on their cycle or birthday," Tikki explained. "But we won't get another opportunity for a long time. See? A kwami's cycle lasts several hundreds of human years. It won't work on the Nooroo with Lord Sprite since, technically, it won't be his transmission, but it will work on the one with Hawk Moth."
"Wow!" Marinette gasped. "That's amazing! Then… you could find out where he is. But… how would you do that?"
"The kwamis must gather in the Miracle Box at a specific time," Tikki explained.
"When would that be?" Marinette asked.
"Tonight."
"Tonight?!" Marinette stared. "Why didn't you tell me about this sooner, Tikki?!"
"Because Master Fu doesn't want us kwamis to leave our owners' sides. He says we have to be able to take action immediately if someone becomes akumatized."
"Hmm… he's right," Marinette admitted. "But surely it's no big deal; I mean… if all the other kwamis are able to meet up, then it's still gonna happen, right?"
"Well, I'm afraid it might not work if I don't go," she said. "The more kwamis that are present, the better chance we have of succeeding!"
"But, if Master Fu doesn't approve…"
"Wayzz, Plagg, and I have an idea—well, it was mainly Plagg's idea," said Tikki. "Plagg and I would gather with other kwamis inside the Miracle Box. Wayzz would stand guard, and he'd let us know right away if anyone becomes akumatized. What do you think?"
"That's a great idea!" Marinette beamed. "There is no risk if Wayzz is keeping a lookout."
"Even if we don't tell Master Fu the whole truth?"
"If it means we're able to save Nooroo and defeat Hawk Moth, Master Fu won't be able to hold it against you."
"So you're okay with it?" Tikki smiled. "You'll let me go?"
"Yes, I trust you, Tikki," Marinette nodded.
"Oh, thank you, Marinette!" Tikki cried, hugging her. "You don't have to worry; I won't let you down." She then picked up a marker. "Sweet dreams!"
Tikki then flew out of the skylight, and Marinette switched off her lamp and went to sleep.
Adrien was currently in his room studying geography while Plagg read a magazine titled 'Gentleman's Camembert'.
Plagg then yawned. "I am exhausted. I'm off to bed."
"Uh… good night, Plagg!" said Adrien.
Plagg hummed and then pulled out a sock puppet of himself behind the pillow and placed it on the bed. He then phased through the wall and made his escape.
Gabriel was currently in his atelier, standing behind his control panel, when Nathalie began to leave.
"Good night, sir," she said as she left the room.
Nooroo hovered behind Gabriel and tried to sneak away but was forced back by a force field.
"Where do you think you're going, Nooroo?" Gabriel asked.
"I just wanted to go out… just for a little while," said Nooroo nervously
"No, you know the rules," said Gable firmly. "You're not allowed to be more than a few feet away from me and no communicating with anyone besides me. There are no exceptions."
"But, Master, it's my birthday today," Nooroo protested. "I thought—"
"You obviously haven't grasped the rules, Nooroo. We're going to have to make them even simpler," he said as he removed his scarf, revealing his Miraculous. "From now on, you won't be able to communicate. At all."
"But, Master—"
Suddenly, Nooroo's mouth magically closed by itself. He tried to speak, but it was all in vain.
"Huh, it was a joke, Nooroo," said Gabriel, a little amused. "I'm not that cruel."
He then snapped his fingers, and Nooroo found himself able to speak again.
"Thank you, Master," Nooroo bowed gratefully.
Gabriel's Miraculous lit up, and he gasped as he sensed the powerful negative emotion. "Change of plans, Nooroo."
A few moments later, he transformed into Hawk Moth and opened the windows to his hidden lair.
"I feel an emotion of great intensity. So pure…" he said and turned a butterfly into an akuma. "Fly away, my little akuma, and evilize him!"
He then released it into the streets of Paris.
Meanwhile, in Jack's room at Le Grand Paris, he could hear Nooroo flying around anxiously.
"Is something the matter, Nooroo?" Jack asked.
"Oh, it's nothing, Jack," he said. "It's just my birthday tonight, and I didn't really enjoy it the last time."
"Because Gabriel enslaved you," said Jack.
Nooroo nodded. "I know that you have put on the same rules as he did, but I know you didn't do it out of cruelty."
"I know, and I'm sorry, Nooroo," said Jack sincerely. "But you know how important it is for us to lessen the impact on the space-time continuum. That said, I don't suppose they'll be any harm letting you have a night out."
Nooroo eyes lit up. "Really, are you sure?"
Jack smiled at him. "So long as you don't interact with anyone, it should be fine."
Nooroo instantly flew down and hugged him. "You're the best holder a kwami could ask for," he said.
Nooroo then happily left the room.
Tikki, meanwhile, was sitting on the chimney holding the marker when Plagg arrived, holding some cheese.
"Hey, Sugarcube!" he said.
"Ugh. I've already told you not to call me that," Tikki groaned. "Do you ever hear me calling you 'Stinky Sock'?"
"No, but you should!" Plagg smirked. "That would be delightful, Sugarcube!" Tikki groaned again. "So, what lies did you tell your owner in order to sneak out tonight?"
"Actually, I just told her the honest truth," she said.
"Oh? Maybe I should try that someday; see what it's like," he said. Then, he ate all of his cheese.
"Plagg! You should've saved some for the others," Tikki scolded.
"True, but I was so grossed out by your kindness that it made me really hungry."
Tikki ground and sighed. "I hope we can get in contact with Nooroo…"
"So do I," said Plagg and started to cry.
"Are you crying?" Tikki asked.
"Who me?" Plagg sniffed. "O-of course not! Are you kidding? Come on, let's race!" He then suddenly took off. "The last one there won't get any cheese!"
Tikki then took off after him.
They eventually reached Master's Fu shop, and Tikki knocked on the door. She opened it, and she and Plagg flew into the room.
"Hey Wayzz!" Plagg yelled loudly. "How's it goin'?"
"Sssshhh! You'll wake up, Master!" Wayzz hissed and gestured to Master Fu, who was currently sitting on the floor with a book on his face. "Psst, come on." He then guided them to the phonograph. "If you manage to contact Nooroo, wish him a happy thirty-five hundred cycles for me."
"We sure will, Wayzz!" Tikki promised.
She and Plagg flew through the phonograph's horn and entered the Miracle Box.
Inside the Miracle Box was, in fact, their home dimension, which was vastly empty apart from a collection of human-made objects that the kwamis had gathered over the centuries.
"Hi, everybody. We're here!" Plagg announced.
The kwamis then emerged from behind all the human-made objects.
Zippy, the goat kwami with two small horns sticking out of his head, gasped. "Plagg! Tikki! You came!"
They all cheered as they flew up to the two kwamis.
"Oh, with you here, we'll manage to get in touch with Nooroo for sure!" said Zippy cheerfully.
"Good day to you, noble kwamis of creation and destruction," said Pollen.
Daizzi, the pig kwami with a long curly tail and a snout, flew up to them. "Oh! What did you bring?! What did you bring?!"
"Brothers and sisters living within the walls of the Miracle Box, on this special day, I brought you some delicious cheese," said Plagg.
"Oh, I love cheese," said Daizzi excitedly.
"Wow, that's so nice," said Zippy.
"Unfortunately, I had to sacrifice it on the way here to feed a poor, starving kitten," Plagg lied.
Tikki instantly glared at him while the others cooed.
"Oh, that's just so cute," said Ziggy.
"What about you, Tikki?" Daizzi asked.
"From my owner's home, I bring you this," said Tikki.
Every kwami then rushed over to the marker.
"Yeah! Oh, what a jewel, what a jewel!" said Daizzi.
Ziggy removed the marker's cap, and Roaar, the tiger kwami with stripes all over his body, touched the tip of the marker and noticed that his paw had turned yellow.
"Wait, wait! I think I've got it," he said. "It's a paintbrush!"
Roarr took the marker from Zippy and drew it on the floor, much to everyone's amazement.
"Oh, so shiny!" said Barkk, the dog kwami, who resembled a dog greatly.
"Let the party begin!" said Xuppu, the monkey kwami, who resembled a monkey.
"Oh, yeah!" they cheered and danced as Xuppu played music. "Whoohoo! Yeah!"
Sass the snake kwami, who resembled a King Cobra, flew up to Tikki and Plagg. "It is a good thing you are here. Your owners were wise to give you permission to come."
"Yes, Sass," Tikki nodded. "Marin—"
She then burped out several pink bubbles.
"Your owner?" Sass assumed.
"Hahaha, you forgot about the magic spell!" Plagg laughed. "We can't say our owner's names to each other, remember?"
"Yes. My owner is the best Ladybug I've ever served," Tikki beamed.
"We are also very lucky that the guardian of the Miracle Box agreed to it, too," said Sass.
"Well… shall we dance, Tikki?" said Plagg quickly. "We have to properly celebrate our friend Nooroo after all."
He then quickly dragged Tikki away.
Marinette was currently in her bed, fast asleep, dreaming of Adrien.
"Adrien… a house… three kids and a cat. Nah, forget the cat; a hamster," she said in her sleep.
Then, while she slept, sand fell over her.
"Marinette…" said Adrien's voice.
"What? What's going on?" Marinette gasped, setting up suddenly. She then heard footsteps and became quite terrified. "Tikki? Are you back already?"
A hand then grabbed the end of Marinette's bed, and she screamed. Then, pulling itself up onto the bed, was Adrien.
"Marinette," he said creepily. "Do you wanna know my secret?"
"Adrien?" Marinette gasped.
"I'm in love with a girl, and her name is Chloé!" said Adrien.
Marinette screamed as Adrien approached her like something out of a nightmare. She quickly tossed her blanket over him and used him as a step-up to get to her balcony, where she immediately closed the hatch.
"What kind of a nightmare is this?" she said.
She then looked down into the street and saw people running and screaming as they were being chased by all sorts of creatures, including a Tyrannosaurus rex and then a ginormous spider.
She then saw a boy flying over the streets of Paris, riding on a pillow that was dropping purple sand as he flew.
The Sandboy just checked in!
Now, nightmares can begin!
"He must be bringing nightmares to life," Marinette concluded.
"One day, Chloé and I will have a house together," said a living nightmare of Adrien as he stuck his head out of the hatch, "and we'll have a hamster named Marinette."
Marinette instantly shut the hatch closed. "Ssh!"
Sandboy kept on flying over the city, singing.
The Sandboy just checked in!
Now, nightmares can begin!
"Tikki, spots on!" Marinette yelled and then suddenly remembered that Tikki wasn't there. "Oh, no! I forgot! It's… I've gotta find Tikki!"
Nightmare Adrien then began pulling himself out of the hatch. "Marinette. The prettiest and smartest one of all is Chloé!"
A living nightmare then tried to grab her, but she quickly jumped around the balcony and dropped down through the hatch. She quickly grabbed her slippers and began making her way downstairs, where her father was rolling dough and singing. She quietly left with the back door.
"The little grain of wheat goes to bed and wakes up as some lovely bread," Tom sang, and the sleeping sand fell around him.
"Yummy!" said the dough as it came to life. "I've always dreamed of gobbling up a baker!"
"Ahhh!" Tom yelled and fell backwards. "What kind of nightmare is this?"
Adrien was still in his room studying when the sleeping sand fell around him. Almost instantly, iron bars appeared around the front doors and windows.
"What's going on?!" he said, trapped in his room. "Plagg! Wake up!" Adrien rushed over towards the bed sheets and discovered that instead of finding Plagg lying in the bed was a sock puppet. "Plagg! No! Who turned you into a sock?"
Nooroo flew around the city, enjoying his night out. He really did wish that you could spend it with the other kwamis, but he knew that was impossible.
"What a beautiful night," he smiled. "The moon is out, the stars are shining, and people are running and screaming…" He then instantly came to a stop and looked down. He then saw that people were indeed running and screaming from some slime creature. "Oh no, Hawk Moth must have akumatized someone; I have to get back to Jack."
He then instantly flew away as quickly as he could.
The kwamis were unaware of what was happening outside in the miracle box and were still partying as the rotating floor stopped rotating piece by piece.
"My friends, the time has come," said Sass and the kwamis flora to their respective spots. "Fellow kwamis, tonight, as you know, we have a special opportunity to create a connection with Nooroo. But we must put our voices together in order to achieve this. Kwamis, sing!"
All of them then began to sing.
In the streets of Paris, Marinette was running while people were screaming. Garbage bins chased one man, while a crocodile chased a woman.
"Stop! In the name of the law," Lieutenant Waldron commanded before being chased by a horde of heavily armoured SWAT units.
Sangboy just kept on flying around singing.
The Sandboy just checked in!
Now, nightmares can begin!
"Marinette. I'm in love with Chloé!" said Nightmare Adrien as he turned round the corner.
Marinette did her best to ignore her living nightmare and continue to make her way to Master Fu's shop.
Adrien was still trapped in his room, but things got worse as iron bars began to cage in.
"Nathalie! Father! Can anybody hear me?!" Adrien pleaded.
Nooroo had just returned to the Le Grand Paris and flew into Jack's room. He discovered that he was running around and being chased by giant wasps.
"Get away!" he yelled, swinging his cane at them.
"Jack!" Nooroo cried, flying towards him.
"Nooroo, thank goodness you're back," said Jack. "Sorry, we've had to cut your birthday short."
"It was nice while it lasted, but this is much more important."
"Then let's get to it," said Jack and removed his scarf. "Nooroo, light wings rise!"
Jack then began to transform into Lord Sprite.
Sprite immediately drew out his plasma sword and began to engage the giant wasps, cutting right through their stingers.
"Now, Buzz off," he said threateningly.
The wasps then flew off, now defenceless without their stingers.
Jack then quickly made his way to the balcony and saw the chaos in the streets as people were being chased around by their own nightmares.
"I hope Ladybug and Cat Noir arrive soon," he said, then jumped into the streets.
Back in the Miracle Box, the kwamis continued singing. Plagg looked fearfully at Tikki, who also looked at him with concern because time was running out.
Instantly, they quickly flew over towards Sass.
"We won't make it, Sass," said Tikki.
"We are missing a few kwamis," Sass nodded. "We need the peafowl. We've not heard from her in such a long time, now!"
"What if we brought Wayzz in?" Plagg asked.
"We won't have another opportunity to contact Nooroo until his next birthday," said Sass. "Go get him!"
Plagg nodded and flew out of the Miracle Box.
Once outside, he explained the situation to Wayzz, but he was reluctant to leave.
"Mm-mm," he said, shaking his head. "I have to stand guard."
"But this could be our only chance of finding Nooroo…" Plagg pointed out, "and Hawk Moth!"
Wayzz looked at the sleeping Master Fu and smiled. "Okay! Let's go!"
The two of them then re-entered the Miracle Box, and once in the home dimension, they quickly took their places and began singing. With Wayzz joining the song, the pink circle turned blue. As the blue reached the centre, a blue shockwave shot out, and a ball of energy formed in the centre. Shortly after, a beam of energy shot upwards.
Marinette finally reached Master Fu's shop and very quietly opened the door. She then crept over to the phonograph and pressed her thumbs on the dragon heads. Their eyes lit up, and the code pad was revealed.
"The code… What's the code?" Marinette panicked and then began whisper-yell into the phonograph. "Tikki! Can you hear me? Tikki?!"
She then heard Sandboy flying outside.
The Sandboy just checked in!
Now, nightmares can begin!
"Master, Master, wake up!" Marinette yelled, shaking Master Fu awake.
"Huh… Marinette?!" said Master Fu, confused just as sleeping sand fell on him. "Wha… what-a…"
"Quick, Master," said Marinette, grabbing his hand. "Don't stay here."
She began dragging him to the door, but then suddenly, ghosts appeared right in front of them.
"Fu! We are the ghosts of The Order of The Guardians of The Miraculous," said the ghosts. "You caused our downfall and lost two Miraculous!"
"It was not my fault," said Master Fu. "I did not do it on purpose."
" Yes, it was your fault," said the ghosts. "Your fault. Your fault. Your fault."
Master Fu then ran and hid behind a stool. "Marinette, transform!"
"I can't, Master," said Marinette as she swatted the ghosts away with a pillow. "Tikki is inside the Miracle Box!"
Nightmare Adrien then began kicking down the door. "I'm in love with a girl and her name is Chloé!"
"This is disastrous, Marinette," said Master Fu. "There's no way of communicating with the kwamis when they are in their magic world."
Marinette soon began to realise just how much trouble they were in.
Adrien, meanwhile, was still trapped behind iron bars and closing in on him, he now barely had any room to move.
"Help me! Father!" Adrien pleaded.
His father was currently within his lair as Hawk Moth, being as creepy as usual.
"Sandboy is turning Paris into one huge nightmare…" he said, "and yet there's no sign of Ladybug or Cat Noir. The only hero doing their duty is Lord Sprite. What is going on?!"
He then suddenly sensed something and then heard singing.
"Nooroo! Nooroo! Nooroo! Nooroo! Nooroo!" said the Kwamis.
Hawk Moth clutched his head in pain. "Argh! What is that?!"
The kwamis had finally managed to connect to Nooroo, but at the same time, the media connection to Hawk Moth.
"That's not Nooroo!" Tikki gasped.
"It's Hawk Moth!" said Plagg, and all the kwamis gasped in dismay.
"Keep singing!" said Stompp, the ox kwami with two extremely large bullhorns. "We must try to find out where he's hiding!"
"A-ha! It's me who's going to find you, little kwamis!" Hawk Moth smiled. "And I will make you my slaves, just like Nooroo!"
The original white beam of energy then suddenly became purple, starting from the top. The kwamis scream, starting to get weakened while covering their ears)
"His will is so powerful!" said Fluff, the rabbit kwami, who had two long rabbit ears.
"We must cut off all communication!" said Barkk. "Hawk Moth is trying to track us down!"
All the kwamis spread their arms across the purple beam of energy and cut the connection. Hawk Moth stumbled backwards and winced when the connection was suddenly cut.
"Hey, wait," said Wayzz. "The reason we can't speak to Nooroo is because he's powering Hawk Moth right now. Which means Hawk Moth's probably akumatized someone!"
Ziggy's eyes widened. "And since Plagg and Tikki are here with us…"
"Ladybug and Cat Noir aren't able to transform," said Kaalki, the horse kwami, who greatly resembled a horse, including having hooves instead of hands. Both Plagg and Tikki gasped at this revelation. "Go and find your owners right away!"
Tikki, Plagg and Wayzz quickly flew out of the Miracle Box.
Sandboy was still flying around Paris, spreading his sleep sand.
"They're making a serious mistake," Hawk Moth informed him telepathically. "I just felt the kwamis somewhere on the right bank of the Seine. Find them! Capture them!"
"Yes, Hawk Moth," said Sandboy and headed towards the right bank of the river.
Wayzz, Tikki, and Plagg had just emerged from the phonograph and saw Master Fu being chased by ghosts. Marinette was using a pillow to defend herself against Nightmare Adrien.
"Marinette, for your birthday, I'm going to buy you flowers—" said Nightmare Adrien.
"Hey! Isn't that your owner?" Tikki asked.
"Of course not!" said Plagg. "Flowers? Pwah!" He then blocked out some green bubbles. "No way! The real one talks nonsense, but it's never this bad."
"—hortensias, roses and Chloés," Nightmare Adrien continued.
Marinette shrieked.
"I'd better go find him," said Plagg. "I just hope he's not living a nightmare without me around."
He then phased through the window in search of Adrien.
Tikki then quickly flew over to Marinette. "Marinette, it didn't work!"
"I'm sorry, Master, we should've warned you," said Wayzz as he hovered next to Master Fu.
"We'll talk about it later, Wayzz!" said Master Fu as he fended off against the ghosts.
"Right now, we have to end this nightmare!" said Marinette. "Tikki, spots on!"
Marinette then began to transform into Ladybug.
Plagg was returning to the mansion as quickly as possible, but Sandboy soon spotted him, who smirked.
"Kwami in sight," he said.
"That's Cat Noir's kwami," Hawk Moth commanded. "Capture it or follow it all the way to its owner."
Sandboy then began to pursue him.
The Sandboy just checked in.
Now, nightmares can begin!
He fired some sand out of his pillow straight at Plagg but quickly dodged it.
"I already know what my nightmare is, and you'll never get me to eat dairy-free cheese," said Plagg, blowing a raspberry at him.
Sandboy groaned and continued chasing him but suddenly stopped in his tracks when a cane nearly hit him. He turned and saw Sprite standing on a nearby rooftop.
"Where are you going to in such a hurry?" Sprite asked as his cane flew back into his hand.
Sandboy turned his eyes back onto Plagg, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Hawk Moth growled in frustration. "Curse that interloper. Ladybug and Cat Noir will be here soon! You must get me their Miraculous! For now, get rid of Lord Sprite."
Sandboy then began firing sand at Sprite, who quickly dodged them.
"I don't know what you two are doing, but I could really use the assistance of Ladybug and Cat Noir," said Sprite as he dodged the attacks
Adrien was still trapped in his iron bar prison, struggling to free himself.
"Adrien!" said Plagg, flying up to him. "Are you okay?"
"Plagg!" said Adrien relieved. "I'm so relieved you're not a sock, but you better have a good excuse."
"Good to see you've managed to survive your nightmare," said Plagg.
"Quick!" said Adrien, holding out his ring. "Plagg, claws out!"
Adrien then began to transform into Cat Noir.
"Cataclysm!" he yelled. He then used destructive power to break through the bars. "No time for daydreaming."
Cat Noir wasted no time and made his way onto the street, where everyone was still running and screaming. He landed on a rooftop and observed the chaos.
"What is this mess?" he said, and Ladybug landed behind him. "M'Lady! Tonight's been a total nightmare… until you showed up."
He then grasped her hand and kissed it.
Ladybug immediately pulled her hand back. "This is no time for lullabies. We've got to stay focused!""
Then suddenly, they saw an explosion erupting in front of them, and a second later, Sprite crashed next to them.
"Ugh, that wasn't fun," he groaned.
"Sprite?" said Ladybug and Cat Noir together and helped him up.
Sprite looked up at them. "Nice to see you two finally showed up."
"Sorry, we'll explain later," said Ladybug. She then turned her eyes towards Sandboy. "Look! His cloud is shaped like a pillow! I'll bet you anything that's where his akuma is."
"Awesome!" said Cat Noir. "Then it's time for a pillow fight!"
They then launched themselves into the air and attacked Sandboy, but he was able to dodge their attacks.
"You won't be able to fight your worst nightmare for long," said Sandboy, who began shooting sand from his pillow.
The three heroes quickly jumped out of the way, and the sound exploded when it made contact with the roof.
"He's moving around too much!" said Ladybug.
"I had the same problem when I was fighting him earlier," said Sprite.
"And his evil sand is blowing everywhere," Cat Noir added.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug yelled, tossing her yo-yo into the air. Then she was suddenly hit by the sand, and no Lucky Charm appeared. "Oh, no!"
"Who's about to get a pretty magic jewel?" Sandboy smiled, making her whimper.
"Ladybug!" Cat Noir yelled.
"This is not good," said Sprite.
Ladybug tried to pull her yo-yo, but it had reverted to a normal one. She then tried to jump but couldn't jump any higher than a normal person.
"What's happening?" said Ladybug.
She then saw Sandboy trying to grab her, and she quickly moved out of the way, almost falling off the roof in the process. She managed to cling to the edge of the roof, but she was unable to pull herself up.
"Good job, Sandboy," Hawk Moth smiled. "Without her powers, she won't be able to stop you from taking her Miraculous. Ladybug, your nightmare is my dream come true!"
Sandboy then tried to grab her earrings, but at that precise moment, Ladybug lost her grip and began to fall. Cat Noir gasped and quickly dived down towards her, grabbing her in midair before she hit the ground. Cat Noir jumped onto the ground, still holding Ladybug bridal-style, and Sandboy doused him with sand.
"The Sandboy just checked in! Now nightmares can begin!" Sandboy sang.
"And we happen to be your nightmare!" Sprite yelled as he launched himself at Sandboy.
Sandboy quickly dodged his attack and then blasted him with his sand, causing him to hit the ground next to Cat Noir and Ladybug.
"You all right?" Ladybug asked as Cat Noir put her down.
"I'm good," said Sprite as he rose to his feet. "But you need to be careful.
"He's right," said Cat Noir as he drew his staff. "Stay behind us, M'Lady."
Ladybug looked at the two of them, surprised. "You two have your powers."
"Losing mine is not what I'm afraid of," said Cat Noir.
"Nor is it mine," Sprite added.
"Then… what?" Ladybug frowned.
"Cat Noir!" said a voice above them. The three of them looked up and saw Ladybug looking down at them from the rooftops. "Bad kitty! I'll never love you! I've always wanted to get rid of you!"
Ladybug looked at him. "You have weird dreams, too."
"My bad," he said.
Ladybug then looked at Sprite curiously. "What about you? Where's your nightmare?"
"I actually live my nightmare every day," said Sprite. "I'm from the future, and one false move and my present may no longer exist. Heck, I could fade out of existence just like that…" He snapped his fingers, "I have to walk a very thin line."
"I had no idea," said Ladybug.
"I am gonna destroy you," Nightmare Ladybug yelled. "Lucky Charm!"
She then tossed her yo-yo into the air and conjured up a giant red and black spotted sword. She then jumped down and swung the sword at them. Sprite quickly jumped out of the way, and Cat Noir pulled out of the way just as her nightmare self hit the road. Ladybug and Cat Noir then rolled across the road and landed on one another.
"Oops. Sorry, M'Lady," he said as he got to his feet. "Stay behind me, I'll protect you."
"I think you mean we will," said Sprite as he raised his cane.
Nightmare Ladybug then came charging in, attacking she seemed to be mostly attacking Cat Noir.
"Stay still, you mangy cat!" she yelled, swinging her sword at them. The two of them quickly jumped back to avoid her swings, and she began spinning her sword professionally and took a stance. "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. Come on!"
Sandboy began flying towards them on the other side just as Nightmare Ladybug charged in. The three heroes now found themselves being attacked from both sides, but Cat Noir quickly grabbed Ladybug by her waist and planted his staff in the ground. Sprite then grabbed hold of the staff as Cat Noir extended it, causing them to fly upwards and causing Sandboy and Nightmare Ladybug to collide with one another. The two of them then somersaulted on a rooftop with Cat Noir, carrying Ladybug bridal-style and Cat Noir's ring beeped.
"You're about to transform back," said Sprite.
"We need to figure out a plan," said Cat Noir. "Fast!"
Sandboy then appeared right in front of them. "Stay! Still! Give me your Miraculous Ladybug!"
The two heroes then ran in the opposite direction but came face-to-face with Nightmare Ladybug.
"So, you want to play hide and seek, kitty?" she said, laughing evilly as she pointed her sword at them. "Come on, kitty!"
She then launched into the air, swinging her sword.
"Watch out, Ladybug!" Cat Noir yelled.
He then quickly drew his staff and blocked Nightmare Ladybug's attack. Sandboy then came flying in, shooting sleeping dust, but Sprite quickly used his cane as a shield to block the attack.
"I don't think we can keep this up forever," said Sprite.
"Ladybug! I'm about to transform back," Cat Noir warned. "Any ideas?"
"Looking!" she said, looking around. Her eyes then fell upon Cat Noir, the tip of Nightmare Ladybug's sword, the edge of the nearby chimney, and Sandboy's pillow light up. "Quick!" She quickly yanked Cat Noir to the chimney. "We've got to lure her over here."
"You don't scare me!" said Cat Noir, taunting Nightmare Ladybug. "You're just a stupid dream."
"You'll be kitty-kibble before you know it!" Nightmare Ladybug yelled, jumping at them.
"Now!" Ladybug yelled.
Cat Noir then quickly moved out of the way, and Nightmare Ladybug struck the chimney behind him, breaking the tip of the sword.
"Follow me!" Ladybug yelled.
"Anywhere, M'Lady," said Cat Noir and followed her.
Sprite was still fending off Sandboy when Ladybug, who grabbed the sword tip, and Cat Noir ran towards them.
"You can't win!" Sandboy yelled.
"Cat Noir, now!" Ladybug yelled as she leapt off the roof.
Cat Noir then quickly extended his staff, grabbing Ladybug as she shot by her. They continued towards Sandboy, and Ladybug used the sword tip to cut through the bottom of the pillow, causing the sand to fall out.
"Whoa! Whoa! Aaah!" Sandboy yelled as he tried to maintain control.
Cat Noir then landed on the ground carrying Ladybug bridal style. They looked up to see Sandboy falling but then jumped in and caught him. The empty pillow land on the ground, and the akuma floated out of it.
"Nooo!" Hawk Moth roared.
"Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug yelled, tossing the sword-tip into the air.
It then shattered, and the magical ladybugs began to swarm, fixing the damage and restoring Ladybug's powers. Then, while trying to pull her sword out of the chimney, Nightmare Ladybug disappeared, fixing the chimney in the process, and all the other nightmares began to vanish.
Sandboy then returned back to normal.
Ladybug, Cat Noir and Sprite then fist-bumped. "Pound it!"
Ladybug then pulled out her yo-yo and touched it with a single finger, opening it. "It works again."
She then began spinning her yo-yo around. "No more evil-doing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize!" She then swung her yo-yo, catching the akuma and pulled it back. "Gotcha!" She then released the now-purified butterfly. "Bye-bye, little butterfly."
She then turned her attention to the young boy, who had been Sandboy just a few moments ago. "Wow, what was that all about, little friend?"
"Oh, Ladybug," said the boy hugging her. "I watched a movie on TV. It was kinda scary. And then I went to bed and had a really bad nightmare. I woke up, and there was a black butterfly in my room, a-and a weird man spoke right in my face."
"Hawk Moth," she said. "He fed off the negative emotion from a nightmare."
"That's what happens when you let kids watch anything they want on TV," said Cat Noir. Then, he heard his ring beeping and looked at Ladybug and Sprite. "Can I leave you two to take this young man back to his parents?"
"No problem," Ladybug smiled, looking at the boy. "Right, big boy?"
"Yay!" the boy cried, hugging her again. "Awesome, Ladybug!"
"You can leave it to us," said Sprite.
Cat Noir nodded and turned to make his leave.
"Cat Noir?" said Ladybug, causing him to stop. "You don't really think I'm as evil as your nightmare, do you?"
"'Course I don't," he said. "You're the lady of my dreams."
He then blew her case and vaulted away, but Ladybug couldn't help but smile.
The next morning, Marinette immediately made her way back to Master Fu's shop and wasn't very pleased.
"It's all my fault, Master," said Wayzz.
"No, it's mine," said Marinette
"No, Marinette, it's my fault," said Tikki.
Plagg nodded. "Yeah. That's true. It's their fault."
Master Fu frowned.
Tikki turned to Marinette, looking ashamed. "You trusted me, and I failed. I'm sorry I disappointed you."
"Aw, of course not, Tikki," Marinette smiled, cupping her in her hands. "I know you mean it well. I will always trust you, you know?"
She then kissed her on the cheek.
"Thank you, Marinette," said Tikki, hugging her cheek.
"Next time, come and talk to me," said Master Fu.
Plagg looked at Marinette and Tikki, snuggling, feeling a little sick. He then quickly floated back towards Adrien and hugged him, surprising him.
"Thank you, Adrien!" he said.
"Plagg! Something wrong?" Adrien blinked.
"No… Just… Thanks for letting me do whatever I want," he said. "Almost all the time."
Adrien smiled. "I know what it's like to have your freedom restricted, Plagg. You don't need to pretend to be a sock."
Plagg hugged him. "You're the best Cat Noir I've ever had, Adrien!" He then quickly released him. "But, let's not get too cheesy about it now, huh?"
Adrien snickered.
At the Le Grand Paris, Jack stroked Nooroo with his finger.
"I'm sorry you weren't able to enjoy your birthday as much as you would want it," he said.
"Don't be; you at least gave me a chance to enjoy it," said Nooroo, hugging him. "It wasn't your fault that my former master decided to ruin things."
"Don't worry, Nooroo, we'll free your past self from Gabriel one day and anyone else who might pursue your powers," Jack promised.
At Hawk Moth's Lair, Gable was talking to Nooroo.
"I hope you liked your friend's birthday gift, Nooroo," said Gabriel. "Now I know that they're close and that there are many of them. If I manage to find them, I'll take their Miraculous. Then, I'll have unlimited powers at my disposal. If I have to fight a whole army of superheroes, I'll do it. Whatever it takes, Nooroo. And Ladybug and Cat Noir won't be able to stop me ever again."
He then laughed evilly as Nooroo looked on in horror.
