This is my first take on the Bakugan series. It's going to primarily focus on the Original series, with elements from Battle Planet, Gen 3 and the video games. This story was inspired by the Aurelus Leonidas Challenge brought to you in no part by LegionnaireBlaze. Starting on Jan 2, 2024, the writer had the idea to do a story regarding Gen 1 Leonidas and the Aurelus Attribute, an idea he himself will do.
In the Bakugan Video Game, the attribute you chose for you character, Pyrus, Darkus, Haos, Ventus, Subterra and Aquos also determines which attribute Leonidas will be born into. In Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia, after you defeat Preston Paras in the Grand Finals. Gen 2 Leonidas, who is only of the Aurelus Faction joins your team. This story will primarily focus on Battle Brawlers to Mechtanium Surge, but will have elements from Battle Planet - Legends to Revolution / Gen 3 and beyond. If you are interested in doing said challenge, type the underlined names on the search bar and see the requirements for yourself.
I know this is gonna sound weird
But one day, my whole world changed..
A young man dressed in a short red jacket with a yellow shirt underneath and red pants stare up into the sky.
Behind him with his backed turned is the silhouette of a similar man, staring into the same horizon.
All around them were black cards glowing green that were falling from the sky, coming down like rain.
You see, these cards started dropping from the sky like rain.
At first we didn't know where they were all coming from or who sent them...
But all we knew is that were more than ordinary playing cards.
A young girl with milky white skin and blue hair tied into pigtails, stares out her window as the same cards fell. She opened up her window, allowing one of them to land inside her room.
And it was happening all over the world!
A young man with long black hair sits on a grassy hill. He watches as one of the cards landed right next to him.
In the North.
A girl with ginger hair stands in the snow, staring perplexed at the black card landed on her snowy mailbox.
In the South.
A small boy with a semi-circular red glasses, wearing blue swim trunks, kneels down in the sand, staring at the crab that held the same card.
A trio in red, blue and green and a dog witness two cards falling gracefully into their hands.
In the East.
A trio of kids and their dog gather around a crater site, each one finding a black card.
In the West.
They landed everywhere!
Waking up from her slumber was a young girl with tanned skin and long gray hair. She rubs her eyes, finding a black card on her pillow.
Together with my new online friends from around the world, we invented a wicked new game we called: "BAKUGAN"
That's when the power the cards was revealed! Each one held its own battling beast that came to life when you threw it down.
Two small kids are seen standing in a blank void. The cards in their hands opened up, revealing two Bakugan, one white, the other brown. The two creatures landed a larger version of the black card, opening themselves up, came to life and began to battle each other. The white one appeared to be a humanoid falcon while the other had fearsome claws the size of its torso that can rip anyone a new one, the former being able to defeat its opponent.
The battles were intense! And if you chose the wrong card, you lost it and the beast inside!
A red Bakugan opens to show a dragon with a gold horn and green eyes battling a black-purple skeletal Bakugan with a scythe.
But that's only half the story...
A bright light fills a space comprised of six realms with a central core domain.
Another even bigger battle was taking place in a parallel universe called: Vestroia!
One of the young men from the start appears in front of an inferno in three frames, confident, a horned draconic silhette with green eyes in the back ground.
My name is Dan! And together with my friends:
Runo!
The girl with the pig tails is shown with a peppy mood, the shadow of an armored giant tiger with greens eyes standing protectively in a radiant space.
Marucho!
The little boy, wearing normal attire appears in the depths of the sea, behind him lies the shadow of chameleon like entity with a comedic look in his red eyes.
Julie!
The girl with the tanned skin appears in an earthen environment with a cheerful expression, behind her a giant golem with red eyes.
Mr. Hotshot himself, Shun!
The boy with the long hair appears in the eye of the storm, giving off a lone wolf vibe, behind him a phoenix with yellow eyes.
... and Alice!
The last member appears in a similar, albeit different setting to the first girl, unlike the others, there is no silhouette of a beast, but rather a human.
We are...
THE BAKUGAN BATTLE BRAWLERS!
...
...
...
However, this story isn't just about us.
Soon the world as both species know will change again and unlike never before, and this time, there will be no turning back.
In a dead world, there lies the other boy from before, pulsing with a sort of rainbow energy. He has brown hair spiking upward with a golden streak in it. His gold and red attire mixing futuistic and ancient aesthetics with pieces of plate armor. On his waist is a whip and on his back lies a sheathed scabbard. His ruby eyes look out to the horizon, a determined and excited expression in his eyes as it shimmers, almost turning draconic for a second, revealing two masked boys and a green-skinned man in the reflection.
The brawlers from before join followed by two silhouetted groups forming up on their left and right sides along with their silhouetted beasts. A new one lands behind them, a long silver horn glistening the golden scales and metallic grey hide on its body, emerald eyes showing a warrior's fire, its reflection showing an armored warrior in black, a reptile with a pink horn and a pale dragon. The claws on its hand were razor sharp and twitching to rend something in twain.
The boy lifts up his card, showing six symbols with random symbols before their energies pool into a seventh golden embem. The skies above them changing into a cosmic dance. There is a deathly silence. Before the combined group all pulls out small balls of different colors and throw them at their common enemy.
BAKUGAN, BRAWL!
Chapter 1
BAKUGAN: THE BATTLE BEGINS
My House, Wardington, Japan
My Room
1 Year Later, Morning
The sun shines through the windows of a house. The camera focuses on one specific bedroom. Among the many objects here include a blue duffel bag with a six-pronged symbol on the side, a baseball bat, a laptop next to a green swivel chair, a TV over a dresser with a red car and a plethora of books, a target shaped clock, a baseball bat and poster, and a ninja poster near it. The shadow of a woman nudges her hand against the sleeping child, which awakens him.
Boy: (yawns, stretches arms and sees her) Good morning, Mother. I hope you had a good sleep as I did.
Mother: (smiles) Indeed, Lyon. Breakfast has been set up downstairs. It just requires your input to complete.
Lyon gets off of bed and after his completing his daily morning routine, gets dressed. He is boy of twelve years of age with light skir, brown hair spiking upward and outward with red eyes. He wears a red and black sleveless shirt under a short sleeved red and white jacket reaching down to his lower torso. His pants and sneakers follow a similar color scheme and design. He then grabs a red watch with a random assortment of parts and tools on the desk and heads down to the kitchen.
After finishing his breakfast, Lyon notices that all the chairs in the dining room are empty save for Mother's.
Lyon: (confused) Did everyone leave for work and school?
Mother gives a small nod.
Lyon: Should I consider joining them?
Mother shakes her head. This raises an eyebrow for Lyon. She is normally very strict when it comes to his education and training among other things. So for her to be so passive about this means she has something planned.
Lyon: Well, if this is one of those school holidays those curiculums have, I'm going to go to the Park. Hopefully I'll find some way to brawl with Bakugan like my friends. I'll see you later, Mother!
He heads out the door, grabbing a large metal suitcase and leaving. Mother smiles as the light shines upon a mirror placed in her reflection, only to show nothing at all.
Kuso Residence
After-School Hours
Dan: Hey, Mom! I'm home!
Dan runs up the stairs while his mother participates in a yoga video.
Dan's Mom: Daniel! I put your lunch in the fridge and please don't forget to wash up. (She winces at the muscles she pulled)
Dan: (sets his backpack on his bed) Thanks, Mom! I'll be down in a minuite!
Dan opens a desk drawer and pulls out a metal box.
Dan: Okay, time to check out my stash (opens, reavealing a plethora of red Bakugan and black cards) Hmm... I'll take.. this. (pulls one) Oh! My Saurus!
Dan: (pulls out a third one) Oh yeah, this one for sure! (wipes his finger across his nose) All set!
Dan was about to close the box before he gets an odd feeling, that perhaps bringing along an extra deck may prove useful in the long run.
He is seen wearing a short red overcoat with black pockets over a bright yellow sleeveless. He has brown hair in which he wears hexagonal shaped goggles. He wears long red trousers with black stripes just below his knees, the ends of which are neatly tucked into his blue-tongued black sneakers. He keeps his gear on his belt. Lastly, he wears blue fingerless gloves. The left glove was longer and he wore an orange watch-like device on his left wrist.
Dan's Mom: (in a new stance) Daniel, your lunch is ready and its getting cold!
Dan: (offscreen) Then why did you put in the fridge? (runs down the stairs)
Dan's Mom: Don't get smart with me, young man!
Dan: Sorry! (runs off, closing the door)
Dan's Mom: And just where do you think you're going?
Dan (wheeling down on his bike) Catch ya later! (chuckles) Yahoo!
Wardington Park
Dan finally arrives at his destination at the park, he came to beat a brawler named Akira, who says he brought someone special with him. He may have been later but that's all that matters. But as he finally spots the boy in question, a small buck-toothed kid with freckled skin, brown eyes and hair, wearing a light-tan baseball cap, a green t-shirt with a yellow power logo on it with a dark green undershirt, green shorts, orange fingerless gloves, wearing a orange-white device similar to Dan's. He is with someone else arguing with another kid, dressed in red and white.
Lyon: No way! I wasn't making fun of you guys!
The person Lyon is speaking to is a muscular and broad shouldered kid for his age. He has brownish hair and hazel eyes, wearing a dull orange jacket, white shirt, tan pants, black fingerless gloves, bright brown shoes with a black outline.
Bully 1: Admit it, punk. You were making fun of the way I battle. Right, Akira?
Akira: That's what I heard. What's your problem, kid?
Lyon: Nothing! I just like Bakugan.
Shuji: Well so do I and now, I'm gonna show you how it's played.
Lyon: But... But I'm new at Bakugan. I don't even know all the rules yet.
Shuji: Well, you're about to learn.. (creaks his neck) the hard way!
Akira: (raises fist) Teach him a lesson, Shuji!
Dan: Tell your friend to back off, Akira! (swerves his bike in between them) Sorry I'm late!
Akira: (turns to Dan, smirks) And here I thought you might've chickened out.
Shuji: Huh? (to Akira) This the kid you're talking about?! (to Dan) This none of your buisness! Get lost!
Dan: (gets off his bike) Doubt that, Akira. And who'd you bring with you? Hope it's backup because you'll need it! (to Lyon) Hey, kid. What's going on?
Lyon: Whoa... Dan from the Bakugan Brawlers! You're all over the net!
Dan: So, you need any help?
Lyon: Are you serious? That would be awesome!
Akira: Your battle isn't with me, Danny-boy.
Lyon: (points to Shuji) It's with him.
Dan: (takes a step back) Whoa. Hey, I don't think that's very fair.
Shuji: (appraoches Dan, cracking knuckles) My little bro here says you think you're pretty good. Well, I guess its time to see how good you really are!
Dan: Yeah, I'm pretty good. (Turns to Lyon) Same goes for the kid.
Lyon: (surpised) Me? But I haven't even played the game before until now!
Dan: (shrugs) I can tell just by looking. (to Shuji) And what about you?
Shuji: Name's Shuji and I'm the master of... (point thumb at himself) Subterra space!
Dan: (stutters) Y-You gotta be joking! I've never heard of Subterra before! (scratches head) Aw, great! (turns head) How am I supposed to battle against a beast that doesn't even exist?
Shuji: (annoyed, stomps and curves right arm down) Quit your stalling! Akira, you take the newbie. (clasps fists together) Red's all mine.
Lyon: (mentally) And they say to never meet your heroes... (to Dan) Subterra is the attribute of earth, much like Pyrus is the attribute of fire and so on. (perks up) How about this. You teach me how to play Bakugan and in exchange, I'll help you against Shuji and Akira.
Dan: (nods) No problem! I'll teach you some of my old tricks and if you're lucky, I won't even charge ya. Haha! (to Shuji) Okay, let's do this! But I gotta warn you, I've never lost a battle before.
Kuso Residence
Later
A yellow car has pulled up onto the street since Dan left.
Dan's Dad: Honey, I'm home!
Dan's Mom: (in a new position) Huh? I wasn't expecting so early.
Dan's Dad: (places coat on couch, loosens tie) Yeah, well. I came back here for a bite to eat. (he opens the fridge, his gaze landing on a pudding cup) Ah, pudding!
Wardington Park
The two duos stand against each other, ready for battle.
Shuji: So are you ready or what?
Akira: Let's go! (to Lyon) You're gonna pay for what you said to my big brother! With interest!
Lyon: (determined) Sticks and stones can only do so much, Akira!
Dan: (smirking, mentally) Interesting, first he tries to defuse the situation, then gives me a way to solve both our problems and now this? He may be worth keeping an eye or two on.
The fountain in the center of the park shoots out streams of water as a flock of pigeons fly off, signaling the battle. Each of them pulls out a black card from the gear on their waist and flips it. Dan's glows red, Shuji and Akira's glow orange, and Lyon's glows a golden color, revealing a new symbol in the center of the card.
All: Bakugan! Field Open!
A magic circle forms on the ground, spinning around as six symbols, red, brown, white, purple, blue and green with symbols similar to kanji appear. A seventh suddenly shows up in the six-pronged star as time around them appears to slow down to a stop as the pigeons flapping reaches a crawl and Mr. Kuso, trips leading to him losing hold of his beloved pudding while his wife looks in surprise. Eventually the light manages to encompass all four as they disspear.
Vestroia Battlefield, Neutral Timespace
Dan and Lyon are seen floating through different elemental planes, fire, wind, water, darkness, light and earth before all four appear in a barren, neutral space.
Lyon: (looks around astounded) So this is to be our battlefield. Impressive, this timespace will make a fine canvas. (to Dan) I know this is some neutral space between our world and the Bakugan homerealm, but where exactly are we?
Dan: (chuckles, finding amusement) Wow, you seem to know a lot for a beginner. This your first time?
Lyon raises an eyebrow, trying to ask if he's serious.
Dan: I'll take that as "yes" and "of course I'm serious." This place is separate from our own, like you said, this is a neutral space. While we're here, time back here is frozen and will remain so until the end of the battle, which means we can battle to our heart's content.
Lyon: (gazes upward, mentally) Alright, this is your first time battling and it's with Dan Kuso of the Battle Brawles. Remember, this isn't about impressing a celebrity whose agreed to be your mentor. It's about having fun with your Bakugan, if you had any that is.
Dan: Bakugan is a game where players start with a deck of cards and three Bakugan. Our goal is to win three Gate Cards, or in this case six since were a dual solo brawl. First, each player takes a Gate Card from their deck and puts it on the battlefield. Do you have something like that?
Lyon somberly shakes his head as Shuji and Akira laugh.
Shuji: (laughs) Hahaha! What kind of brawler doesn't even have his own Bakugan and cards! (to Lyon, points) You might as well give up now, kid!
Akira: Yeah, leave it to the professionals!
The brother's taunts make Lyon clench his fists until he gives the two a glare harsh enough to shut them up.
Lyon: (coldly) If you have something to say, friends, (venomously uses the term loosely) save it for the battle. (to Dan, normally) Bluntness aside, Shuji is right. (facepalms) Ugh, what was I thinking?
The Pyrus brawler sweat drops as he ponders the situation before remembering the extra deck he made back home.
Dan: Then why don't you borrow one of mine? I just had this weird feeling that it may prove useful and here we are.
He reaches into his side holster and dispeses three Bakugan for Lyon, he also hands him six cards, three of two types. Lyon takes and feels them in his hands. The Bakugan in his hands felt too warm in his hands, like they might burn them if allowed to do so.
Lyon: Whoa, thanks! (turns to the field) We got this!
Dan: (smirks) Sounds like someone's all fired up. (to the brothers) Time to start my warm-up.
Shuji: You're getting pounded kids, you don't stand a chance!
Dan: (to Lyon) Gate Cards do three things: boost your G-Power, change the rules of battle, and decide which type of battle you'll play. Right now you need to throw them.
Lyon: Like a skipping stone?
Dan: (lightly slugs him) Now you're getting it.
All: Gate Card, Set!
They all throw their cards down opposite to each other, floors of red and orange filling the void.
Shuji: (pulls out a brown and orange Bakugan) Ready or not, here I come! (throws it) Bakugan, Brawl!
The Bakugan reaches his brawler's Gate Card and opens, revealing a praying mantis.
Shuji: Bakugan, Stand! Go, Subterra Mantris!
The Gate Card glows brown as a huge Bakugan based solely on the appearance of a praying mantis manifests. It has blades set into its feet and yellow eyes that can see behind its head. It also has a large backside a bit like a bee stinger and is used for defense.
Dan: Whoa, freaky!
The Bakugan shrieks and steps forward forcing Dan to jump back, though Lyon doesn't move. He moves a panel on his device, revealing a small computer inside.
BakuPod OS: WELCOME, DAN. OPPONENT: SUBTERRA MANTRIS. POWER LEVEL: 270Gs NO OTHER DATA AVAILABLE.
Dan: Great. (mental) Okay, "terra" means earth and his power level is at 270. So at least I know what beast I'm dealing with here. Question is, what should I counter with?
Lyon: Something similar in level to his G-Power would be a start, have an Ability Card ready for when he opens it. (to Dan, chuckles) Sorry, did I interrupt your train of thought? At least this Mantris isn't a female. Those things are literal man-eaters. (shudders) Don't get me started on Mantonoids.
Dan: (mentally) Is this guy a mind reader or something? (vocally) Let's try throwing and landing on a Gate Card. It's all about intuition and guts. Just pick the Bakugan with a strong base G-Power and what you think may be a good choice and hurl that bad boy!
Lyon: Or girl.
Dan: (shrugs, sighs) Or girl! You sounded like Runo for a moment there.
Lyon: (chooses one, getting a feel) This one should start us off. (mentally) Time to put all that throwing practice with Dad to use! (he performs a back flip and throws the Bakugan) Bakugan, Brawl! (the Bakugan he throws lands on his chosen card) Bakugan, Stand! Awaken, Pyrus Juggernoid!
The strangely glowing Bakugan opens, showing two legs, a tail, and a head with green eyes popping out of the top half, to manifest a giant red turtle that emerges from its shell, howling. Lyon reaches for for his device and opens it. His version appears to be in a damaged state with the screen glitching.
BakuPod OS: (glitching) W3LC0M3, (unintelligble) PYRU$ JU663RN01D 3NT3R$ TH3 BATTL3 AT 310Gs. N0 0TH3R DATA AVAI1ABL3.
Lyon: (scoffs) Huh, now the repair job decides to stick. (to Juggernoid) So this is a Bakugan's true form. It's as big as a house! Are you ready, big guy?
Juggernoid turns to Lyon and slowly gives him a nod in reply.
Dan: (mentally) Huh, good choice. Not a bad thrower, too. Seems he's also a Bakugan whisperer. (vocally) You rock! (he pulls out a Bakugan from his gear, flips it with his thumb and throws it) Your little bug is going down! Bakugan, Brawl!
Dan: (the Bakguan he throws lands on the card Mantris stands on) Bakugan, Stand! Go, Pyrus Serpenoid!
The Bakugan opens with a head popping up and a tail going downward. The tip of the tail touches the bottom of the head when closed. When opened, a small part of the tail detaches itself, creating an extension of the tail. When it manifests, it unfurls itself as a red and yellow snake with a tan underbelly, frills on the side of its head adjacent to a cobra and a trident stinger on the tip of its tail. Upon gazing at its opponent, it roars in hostility.
BakuPod OS: POWER LEVEL: 320Gs
Dan / Shuji: Battle!
Mantris rears its right to strike, but Serpenoid slithers out of it and starts to coil around the mantis Bakugan, slowly constricting it.
Dan: Alright!
Lyon: (Mentally) Serpenoid is off to a good start, but raw power is no substitute for true strength. The Bakugan is the Gate Card that Shuji threw down, so he must have something on his sleeve. (his eye glows like a rainbow for a second, causing painful discomfort, his hand reaching his eyes and forehead) And, there it is.
Shuji: (chuckles to Dan's confusion) Gate Card, open up now! Subterra Reactor!
A luminscent wall forms around the brawling Bakugan, before the land transforms into a desert. Dan gasps as pyramids appear behind him, the battlefield around them turns into a desert colossuem with four giant golems surounding them, the brawlers positioned on platforms hovering over quicksand. Lyon is unfazed while Akira smirks. Mantris' legs buckle as the two crash into the sand. Dan checks his BakuPod again.
BakuPod OS: POWER LEVEL INCREASE TO 420Gs.
Dan: Not good!
Serpenoid rises alone as Mantris bursts from the ground below performing a cross strike at the serpent Bakugan. The snake lets out a dying breath as his body reverts back into ball form, returning to Dan's feet. With the brawl over, the Gate Card's effect ends with the landscape returning to normal.
Shuji: You're toast! (Mantris returns to ball form and Shuji's hand)
BakuPod OS: BATTLE 1: TERMINATED. SUBTERRA MANTRIS: VICTORIOUS.
Shuji: (laughs) Hahahaha! That was so easy! You fell faster than a deck of cards in a tornado. (to Lyon) Don't worry, backtalker, we haven't forgotten about you. (pulls out a second Bakugan) Time to finish what we started! Bakugan, Brawl!
Shuji: (throws it onto Dan's Gate Card) Bakugan, Stand! Clip their wings, Subterra Terrorclaw!
The Bakugan Shuji throws opens with four legs and two pincers. It manifests as a crab with green eyes, six legs and lower arms with red tips, giant pincers and a wide head.
The backtalker in question is annoyed by the loss, but overall unamused and unimpressed as he performs a sarcastic slow clap.
Lyon: (sarcastiaclly) Yes, yes, you proved your overcompensation by gloating your victory on the first battle. Not that your Mantris would have fared much against a Rattleoid or a Fangzor on one of our Gate Cards. (to Dan) Don't worry, Dan. It's only one battle. We'll get the next one. (to Akira) Yo! If you're doing basking in your brother's afterglow, I would like to have my turn to battle now.
Dan: (mentally) Clearly it takes a lot to get under the kid's skin. And what a mouth. (ponders) He's right though, a Ratteloid or Fangzor would've won us the first brawl hands down. He's definetly book smart. (vocally) You're right, now that I think about it. Now it's Akira's turn.
Akira: (embarassingly angered) I'll take your challenge! (pulls out a Bakugan and throws it) Bakugan, Brawl!
Shuji: (embarrased, warning) No! Akira, wait!
His cries fall on deaf hears as his little brother's Bakugan lands on the card Juggernoid is on, though not before random shots from random points try to divert its path.
Akira: Bakugan, Stand! Turtle soup's on the house, Subterra Robotallion!
The Bakugan top half opens and splits, then unfolding a pair of arms. The Bakugan manifests as a humanoid with metal shielding, claws and blades in its body, capable of slicing cleanly through any substance.
Lyon's BakuPod OS: (glitching) $UBT3RRA R0B0TALL10N 3NT3R$ TH3 BATTL3 AT 340Gs.
Dan: Battles start when two Bakugan land on the same card. Win the battle to win the Gate Card.
Lyon: Don't need to tell me twice!
Lyon / Akira: Battle!
Robotallion charges at Robotallion, attempting to try and throw him off his feet, but Juggernoid proves surprisingly spry, sidestepping his charge and headbutting his leg, causing him to stagger. The turtle Bakugan then tries to stomp his foot upon his but the machine rolls over and two enter a power struggle.
Dan: Each Gate Card has a G-Power boost that gives your Bakugan G-Power based on its attribute. It's added when the card is opened. You can use an Ability Card during the battle. If you play the right card, you can really help your Bakugan! All you do is call out what card you want to use and say its name.
Akira: Hah, your little turtle is nowhere near strong enough to beat my Robotallion! (mentally) And if he activates his Gate Card, My Ability Card should cancel its effects as soon as he opens it. This round is mine.
Lyon: Who said Robotallion belongs to you? You should know what happens to metal when exposed to flames, they melt under pressure. This dry cycle is on you, Shuji! (pulls out a green card with runes, three rubies, one large and two small with a ziz-zag pattern) Ability card, Activate! Flame Funnel!
The card in his hand "opens" and bursts into flames as Juggernoid retracts himself into his shell and begins to spin around viciously as the wind around it picks up. Robotallion tries to regain his grip on the turtle but the increasing speed makes it difficult to find a hold. A spark from inside the shell ignites, setting the tornado ablaze.
The robot bakugan loses his footing and is lost to the winds. Juggernoid returns to ball form and with the Gate Card, is sent back to Lyon's open hand. Robotallion later crashes into the ground and reverts back to ball form.
Lyon: (jumps, grabs Juggernoid and raises him high in his fist) Yes, I won!
Akira: (picks up Robotallion) How did you do that?! How did you beat me?!
Lyon raises a knowing eyebrow and both Shuji and Akira pick this up and appear angrier than before.
Dan: (mentally) So that's what that taunt was for, riling up Akira well enough to the point of him acting without thinking. This kid's a natural. I should probably tell the others about this. Shuji mentioned something about "clipped wings". That's it! (vocally) Nice job! You won the battle and now you get a Gate Card!(grabs another Bakugan) You think you're pretty good, huh? Well, you better buckle up Shuji, because you're going down! (throws) Bakugan, Brawl!
The Bakugan opens up in a similar as Robotallion, but with the top unfolding instead of splitting. A red humanoid with falcon-like features takes flight and hovers over the crustacean Bakugan.
Dan: Gate Card, Open! Pyrus Reactor!
The land around the cards is set aflame as the battlefield transforms into a volcanic refinery with two horned dragon statues watching over them, causing discomfort with Terrorclaw and the brothers. Lyon acts otherwise, growing more excited as the flames of battle burn brighter as he grins. Falconeer flies low and peforms a drill manuever, piercing through Terrorclaw's carapace and forcing it back to ball form in front of Shuji.
BakuPod OS: (glitching) BATTL3 2: T3RM1NAT3D. W1NN3R: PYRU$ JU663RN01D.
Dan: (catching Falconeer) Now it's 2 to 1. (to Lyon) Not bad for your first brawl, kid. Never really met a brawler who didn't use his Gate Card to win the brawl.
Lyon: (smiles) Throwing a Bakugan onto one of our own Gate Cards would have made the plan to nullify said card pretty predictable. (points to the dying embers) How did you know I liked my crustaceans bloody rare?
Dan: (laughs) Hahaha! Good one! Guess I'm learning something while I'm at it. But why did you tell Akira that his Robotallion isn't his? Aren't they just toys?
Lyon: (his brow furrows in annoyance, creaks head to Dan, coldly) Do. Not. Call. Them. That. (Dan raises a finger, but he raises his hand, breathes) Forgive me, Dan. That's a touchy subject for me. We'll talk after the brawl. (excited) We have a momentum to keep!
Akira: Sorry, Danny-boy! But this I'm teaching this kid a lesson he won't forget. Gate Card, set! Bakugan, Brawl!
The younger brother throws his Gate Card into the field and his next Bakugan.
Akira: Bakugan, Stand! Even the odds, Subterra Siege!
A armored knight in a silk cape rises up and slams the tip of his spear into the ground, a globe on one of the ends, usheing his challenge. Lyon doesn't falter, staring into the Bakugan's eyes. For a moment, he thought he saw his head nod. He turns his gaze to his next chosen Bakugan.
Lyon's BakuPod OS: (glitching) $UBT3RRA $1363 $TAND$ AT 300 GS.
Lyon: The challenge has been given, will you accept this honor?
The Bakugan in his begins to glow again as it blazes with life, rumbling. Dan looks on with intrigue as Lyon nods.
Lyon: As you wish, my new friend. Bakugan, Brawl!
The Bakugan he throws soars like a comet right at Siege, not bothering to aim for the Gate Card The knight attempts to block it before the brawler calls him out.
Lyon: Bakugan, Stand! Strike true, Pyrus Warius!
A red light opens in the sky as a brutish warrior carrying a dual-mace quickly appears and punches the knight in the face. The former staggers, then gains its footing.
Lyon's BakuPod OS: (glitching) PYRU$ WAR1U$. P0W3R L3V3L 250 Gs. $PH3R3 ATTACK D3CR3A$3$ $UBT3RRA $1363 BY 50Gs.
Akira: Sphere Attack?! 50Gs?! What kind of abilty card is that?
Lyon: (shakes his head, smiling) No card, Akira. (gauge with a hexagon synbol with six colored dots appears on the top left, filling up as he explains) As a brawl continues, the Core energy that's generated during the battle grows in strength. Once it's filled, A brawler's spirit resonates with the Bakugan they choose as they release attribute energy upon being thrown. What you witnessed is just the base verison of said attack. The evolved verison of the technique, the Special Shot has six variants based on Vestroia's six attiributes.
The scene changes to a gate card with a Subterra Bakugan and an attacking Pyrus Bakugan with chibi versions of a throwing Dan and an angry Shuji.
Lyon: A Sphere Attack is a technique which involves attacking a Bakugan before the fight begins, decreasing enemy G-Power upon contact. (the standing Bakugan is pushed back by the Pyrus Bakugan) If the attack knocks the enemy G-Power to zero. It is considered a Critical K.O. and the attacking brawler wins the Gate Card. (Dan throws the Pyrus Bakugan again and knocks the Subterra Bakugan off the Gate Card. Shuji is later seen crying on his knees as both Bakugan and Brawler jump for joy.)
Dan: (confused) Special Shots? Are those even in the rules?
Lyon: (knowing smirk) Why hear when you can see?
Dan and the brothers all check their BakuPods. Their eyes open as their devices explain the moves.
BakuPod OS: SPHERE ATTACK. BRAWLERS THROW THEIR BAKUGAN TO DECREASE ENEMY G-POWER BEFORE STANDING. IF ENEMY BAKUGAN IS KNOCKED OFF GATE CARD BEFORE STANDING, BRAWLER WINS BY CRITICAL K.O.
Dan: Wow, I can't tell what's more impressive; that you can do such a move, or that it's legal.
Akira: Siege, now! While they're distracted!
Siege tries to impale his spear into Warius' chest, but the warrior pushes the spear aside. It wags his finger at him before readying itself.
Lyon: (waves finger) Tsk, tsk, tsk. You think it would that simple?
The two Bakugan continue to fight each other, Warius' moves hard and aggresive, yet refusing to give into his rage while Siege shows precision and speed with growing vulnerability. Warius eventually manages to disarm Siege's spear, leaving the lancer at his mercy. To Siege's surprise, his combatant discards his own mace and motions him to come at him hand-to-hand. A notion that the Subterra Bakugan accepts.
Dan: (covers his eyes with his arm) Wow! I've never seen a battle go this long so evenly. (to Lyon) Is this your doing, kid?
Lyon: (unmoved) Not even close, seems the Warius in your team is one that values honor in a fair fight, same with Akira's Siege, same with me.
Akira: Not for long. Gate Card, Open! Quick Draw!
The card they stand on glows as the two Bakugan are pushed to the ends near their weapons, they glance at them and each other, knowing the end has come. The two grab their weapons and charge, impaling them both.
Akira: And now for the coup de grâce... (throws card at Siege) Ability Card, Activate! Concrete Crusher!
Dan: (mentally) Come on, kid. I gave you the perfect Ability Card to shut him down. Question now is whether he knows it and can think under pressure.
Lyon: Too slow! (throws card at Warius) Ability Card, Activate! Cinder Siphon!
BakuPod OS: SUBTERRA SIEGE INCREASED BY 30GS. G-POWER TRANSFERRED TO PYRUS WARIUS.
Warius coughs out something liquid, then makes an exerting motion. Siege falls to knees, unable to bear the strain. It looks up at Warius to finish it, but instead the victor offers his hand to help him out. The lancer is confused by this but decides to take his hand and is helped up. The two Bakugan stare at each other for a while before the two shake their hands and nod to each other in respect. Siege and Warius return to ball form and both them and cards return to their respective brawlers.
Lyon's BakuPod OS: (glitching) BATTL3 3: T3RM1NAT3D. W1NN3R: PYRU$ WAR1U$.
Lyon: Sorry you can't have it your way! And that's two for two, little pebbles. (to Dan) We put down new ones if we run out of Gate Cards on the field, right?
Dan just gives him an approving thumbs up.
Shuji: (sweats, grunts) Not for long.
Lyon / Shuji: Gate Card, Set!
The two throw their final gate cards onto the field next to each other.
All: Bakugan, Brawl!
The two throw throw their final bakugan onto the field. Dan and Shuji's and Lyon and Akira's Bakugan matching each other in appearance outside of attribute coloration.
BakuPod OS: ROUNDS 4 AND 5 BEGIN.
All: Bakugan, Stand!
Dan / Shuji: Let's do to it, Pyrus / Subterra Saurus!
Lyon / Akira: Carve the way to victory, Pyrus / Subterra Centipoid!
The two pairs of Bakugan rise from their cards. Saurus appearing as a humanoid styracosarurus wearing gladiator armor. Centipoid's form and mae is based on its Earth counterpart. It has green eyes and two silver pincers that are larger than its head, which can penetrate hard armor. It has two silver tails that are razor-sharp and antennas that sense predators miles away. Both appears to travel underground for sneak attacks and has an unbreakable, exoskeleton shell. It has fifteen pairs of silver legs.
Lyon / Shuji: Gate Card, Open! Pyrus / Subterra Reactor!
BakuPod OS: PYRUS CENTIPOID AND SUBTERRA SAURUS INCREASE BY 30Gs.
The screen shows a clash between the styracosaurus and centipede Bakuga, showing the Subterra at a combined 560Gs and the Pyrus Bakugan at a 520Gs.
Shuji and Akira yells out in fury as the two Saurus struggle against each other in the sands created by Shuji's Gate Card, while the two Centipods keep coiling around each other, both trying to find a opening for the other to exploit with the fire and flames of Lyon's Gate Card.
Lyon / Dan: Ability Card, Activate!
Dan: Saurus Glow!
Lyon: Reinforced Wrath!
The Pyrus brawlers throw red ability cards, showing clawed teeth behind a clockwork gate at the Bakugan, empowering Saurus and Centipoid with a crimson light. Another of Lyon's Bakugan is sent out to reinforce Centipoid. The massive influx of heat causes the two brothers to cry out in recoil.
Dan's Saurus performs a shoulder charge at Shuji's Saurus, knocking it backward while Lyon's finds an opening and moves its downwards in a diagonal slashing motion to its left, aided by the impalement of a Pyrus Siege, causing Akira's Centipoid to roll out from the force. The brothers are frozen with Saurus falling on Shuji and Centipoid rolling uncontrollably towards Akira. Fortuantely for the two, the two Subterra Bakugan revert to ball form, bonking Akira and rolling in front of an awestruck Shuji.
Shuji: (twitching, at a loss) No! No, this can't be happening!
Akira: (similar expression, falls on his knees) Impossible. This kid beat me with a borrowed deck!
Dan: (hands on hips, to Lyon) Nice double stand! Now you've got another gate card and we're close to winning! (to Shuji) Hate to tell ya, bud. But it looks like you're down to your Subterra Mantris. If I figured right, one more itsy bitsy battle should put you away for good. (to Lyon) Guess, that's game for you. Right, kid?
Lyon: (nods and smiles) Akira may be down, but Shuji's not. Besides, what kind of partner would I be if I went back on my word and let you brawl Mr. Tutorial here all by yourself? But considering who you're up against, (points to Shuji) I suspect that you don't need my help. (returns the deck) Before I forget. To be honest, I like Pyrus, my favorite attribute really, but it doesn't exactly suit me if that's no offense.
Dan smiles and has a nice laugh with him, while the brothers continue to grow enraged.
Akira: Big bro, I...
Shuji: (angrily snaps) Not now, Akira! (Akira falls silent) I'll show you, punks! Gate Card, Set! (he throws his final Gate Card onto the field.) Bakugan, Brawl! (he throws his Mantris onto the field) Bakugan, Stand! End this Subterra Mantris!
Lyon: (to Dan) I swear I can hear his blood pressure rising.
Dan: (grunts) Bakugan, Brawl! (He performs a similar throw as he did Serpenoid and throws Falconeer.) Bakugan, Stand. Blaze the path, Pryus Falconeer!
Falconeer flies forth and hovers Mantris the same way he did Terrorclaw.
Shuji: (yells) Gate Card, open! Subterra Reactor!
Lyon: (sweat drop, mentally) I know Shuji put on a show back in the Park, but I didn't expect him to be this predictable. Three Subterra Reactors? Battles like this can't be won by using the same strageties over and over again. I know that much.
The battlefield transform into the desert colosuem again as Shuji pulls out a red ability card.
Shuji: (chuckles) Now to play my Ability Card. Ability Card, activate! Slice Cutter!
The card reaches Mantris, causing its blade arms to glow. The mantis Bakugan rears back and creates a cross slash toward the humanoid falcon.
Lyon: That's four cards in a row! Just one more!
Dan: (unamused, pulls out a similar red card) Wow, I'm impressed. If you think you're the only one holding an ace, you're wrong.
Shuji: (growls) Smart mouth.
Lyon: (jokingly) Gravel brain.
Dan: Counter Ability, Activate! Frame Fire!
Dan throws the card towards Falconeer, who furls himself in his wings as the card envelops him in protective flames, blocking the Slicer Cutter. The attack nears Lyon, who jumps out of the way, barely cutting his hand off.
Shuji: (surprised) What the-?
The flames gather around Falonceer's right first as he launches a fireball, incineating the bug. Shuji is left speechless as Mantris falls to the ground in ball form and a similing Dan grabs Falconner.
Lyon: Nice! And for good measure... Bakugan, Brawl!
BakuPod: DOUBLE STAND, DETECTED. GAME, SET AND MATCH. DAN AND (unintelligible)
The screen shows the last light on Shuji and Akira's side blinks out, with Dan's Falconeer and Lyon's Juggernoid returning to them and the gate cards energy transferring to a HSP meter to the lower right, increasing the score from 500 to 1000.
Wardington Park
Seconds Later
Dan: And it looks like we win.
With the brawl concluded, the space aroud reverts to that of the Park, time speeding up as the pigeons from earlier fly away and Mr. Kuso's pudding falls on the ground.
Dan's Dad: (anguished) My pudding! I've been waiting all day for that!
Lyon: (ears perk as he looks in the direction of the sound) Sounds like someone's pudding day has fallen flat.
Dan: (mentally snickers) Yeah, that does sound like my dad alright. Talk about hearing a pin drop.
Akira: (speechless) I.. I don't believe it! (to Shuji on his knees) You promised me you'd clean his clock! What happened? (to Lyon) How... How did you beat my brother?
Lyon: (shrughs) You were there too, Akira. You know what happened.
Shuji: (sputters) I'm sorry.
Dan: (flicks his nose) That was easy.
Lyon: That's our skill talking. (gives a trademark thumbs up) Good game, by the way you two. I'm looking forward to next time.
Intermission
The Attribute wheel is shown, the light spinning on a roulette and landing on Pyrus, A red and yellow Bakugan with fold out legs, arms and a semi-circle head with a fold-out horn rolls down to the right and opens. Dan appears to the left, holding a card in his left hand with the shows emblem shining in front of them.
Dan: Stick around! There's more Bakugan after these!
Intermission 2
Dan: And now, back to Bakugan!
The roulette lands on Pyrus again, showing the same Bakugan from before, but this time revealing the silhouette of a horned dragon with green eyes.
Dan's Room, Kuso Residence
Nighttime
Dan: -and then I let him have it with my secret weapon, Frame Fire!
The scene shows Dan in his room, conversing someone or someones on his computer.
Dan: (stands up on his chair, bragging) Man, you should've seen it. (turns to his right, foot on chair) I was like totally winning. Then again, what did you expect from the greatest Bakugan brawler!
Girl 1: (unimpressed) Whatever! I just checked the World Rankings and you're still at 121.
Her outfit is a yellow midriff t-shirt with light red straps that exposes her shoulders and a white skirt with a pink belt. She also wears maroon fingerless wrist gloves, as well as orange and white striped knee socks and brown her monitor has a white and yellow star symbol derived from the Han character for light, 光 (Hikari)
Dan: (turns to the girl's image along with two others and a boy) That's impossible, Runo. I've got to check this out myself. (He opens a side tab and pulls up the World Rankings page) Scrolling up... Ha! 117!
Runo: (annoyed) Oh, please! Give me a break! (turns to the right) You should save your breath until you break into the top 10.
Dan: Yeah, right! You're one to talk! You're not even ranked! (blows a raspberry)
Runo: (Hair angrily spikes with steam puffs popping out) Oh, like that's real mature!
Girl 2: (blushing, clasps hands and shakes from side to side) Danny! That is so dreamy! 117, that's like four whole spots in one day! Defintley worth a big smooch from Julie.
Julie is wearing a pink midriff-baring outfit with white fingerless gloves that covers her forearms. Her belly button is visible. She wears headphones and a portable music player attached to her right shoulder (but is rarely seen listening to it). She wears white high heeled boots that matches her elbow length white fingerless gloves, and wears Large white heart shaped earrings at all times. The Subterra Brawler approaches the camera with a symbol derived from the Han character for Earth 土 (tsuchi) and kisses it, embarassing Dan and making him fall flat on his butt.
Dan: (embarrased) Gross! Ah man, that hurts! (gets back up to the computer, angered) Quit slobbering up the screen! (rubs his nose) I'm a Battle Brawler, not your boyfriend.
Runo: Whoa (turns away) That is so kindergarten!
Julie has hearts all around her while the remaining girl and boy feel awkward just by being there, the latter looking between Runo and Julie before chuckling. His symbol of chosen attribute derived from the Han character for water, 水 (mizu).
Julie: You go, Danny! I'll always be your biggest fan in the world!
Dan: Fan... Hold on a moment. (he pulls up the World Rankings page again and scrolls down)
Girl 3: Dan, are you looking for something?
Her attire is a yellow dress with white shorts, a green blouse, and small white and green colored boots. She has a pinkish-red bracelet on her left wrist as well. Unlike the other three, she has no attribute to associate with.
Dan: Not something. Someone. Almost... there! (A picture of Lyon appears on the rankings, #999, somehow the picture is glitched so its almost indescrnable) #999. That brawl must've put him on the rankings for sure.
Boy: Him? You were brawling with someone?
Dan: Before my brawl with Shuji, the guy I was talking to you about. He was haggling some kid who was brand new to Bakugan. I offered to teach him about the game and he proved himself a natural, but he had this strange... presence about him, Marucho. Like he knows as much about the game as us, maybe even more! He even knew about Sphere Attacks and Double Stands.
Marucho (intrigued) Double Stands? Sphere Attacks? Weren't those conditions recently implemented by some unknown webmaster?
Dan: (raises eyebrow) You think those two are related somehow? (shakes his head) Nevermind. After the brawl, he said some very... interesting things.
Flashback
Shuji: (gets back up, points at Lyon) This isn't finished, kid! Just wait until the tournament! Hahaha! You'll be sorry! (He and Akira run off) And he didn't beat me Akira, I... I let him win.
Dan: Nice job! You rocked! A little more practice and who knows? We could end up as partners in the tourmament Shuji was talking about! So, what did you think about Bakugan?
Lyon: To answer the latter...
He walks to over to the fountain and dunks his head in the water. Dan tries to stop as he hears gurgling sounds coming from him. Lyon pulls his head out and walks back to him.
Lyon: And for the former, that would be awesome! (his expression saddens) But, I'm just a beginner. To enter the tournament, I need a wicked Bakugan, something like what the Awesome Ones and Misfit Clan has.
Dan: (Surprised, forms a T shape with his hands) Whoa, hold the phone! Did I or did I not hear you say the Awesome Ones and Misfit Clan?
Lyon: (cranes his head, confused) Yeah, why?
Dan: (grabs his shoulders and shakes him) Dude, they're only the best Bakugan teams in America right now, if not the world if not for the Battle Brawlers! How do you know about them?
Lyon: (scratches his head) Let's just say that it's a bit of a trade secret. You'll have to watch tonight's video if you want the full details. But to provide context, here.
He pulls up his BakuPod and it shows a golden hologram of a red humanoid dragon with four wings, followed by similar dragon with six, a green tyrannosaurus rex, a white gorilla, a hawk and a black three-headed dog.
Lyon: Pyrus Behemos and Titanus, Ventus Trox, Haos Gorthion and Ventri and Darkus Howlkor. These are the Guardian Bakugan belonging to Awesome One and Misfit Clan members, Danma and Danra Kouzo, Wynton Styles, Lia Venegas, Mio Oni and Lightning the French Bulldog. Honestly, I'm just as surprised with the dog as you, as for those two Dans. I'll admit either their parents or the writers were having an off day with those names.
Dan: Danma and Danra Kouzo?! Those are my cousins back in America! Those two have been telling me about this mystery member that's been helping them since the game's beginning.
Lyon: (looks closely at him as Dan poses) Yeah, you're right. Red streak in your hair and minor differences aside, you three look exactly the same. Even the nicknames and personlality match.
The BakuPod on his wrist shortcurcits and breaks apart, Dan is shocked by it while Lyon just looks at it annoyed, rubbing off any scorch marks on his hand.
Lyon: (slaps wrist) Aw, heck! The watch must have taken the blow from Mantris' Slice Cutter earlier. (sighs) That old thing has been buggy since day 1! Sure it works fine with others, but with me it keeps glitching to point of crashing, both virtually and literally. I've been trying to repair it when not trying to make my own, but I guess that Plan A is scrapped. A little tech humor as I fine Shuij for the damages. I hope you understand what I said earlier about finding somone I can call partner.
Dan: (looks at his Bakugan clip) Huh, I think I see what you mean. I see that it's important to you that you should have a tight relationship with Bakugan. I mean, I have my own opinions, but I don't want to go through that again.
Lyon: As long as I don't catch you talking smack like that again, water under the bridge.
Dan: Gotta roll! Catch you later, buddy and good luck! (stops) Wait, I don't even your name! (slaps face) My name's Dan, Dan Kuso.
Lyon: Minakanushi. Lyon Izanagi Minakanushi.
End of Flashback
Runo: I don't believe you. I can't believe you.
Dan: WHAT! C'mon, isn't it that hard to believe that I can teach someone?
Runo: (bluntly) Yes. This is Dan Kuso I'm talking to, right? You couldn't even lead a parade!
Marucho: You were wise to inform us of this Lyon Minakanushi, Dan. If he was able to win a Bakugan Battle perfectly on his first try, carries a link to the AO and MC, and whatever else you said before is true, then he is definetly worth keeping an eye on.
Julie: (blushing) Both looks and brains. You certainly are a package deal, Danny!
As Dan blushes in embarassment and calls Julie out, Alice remains silent as if the name rings a bell for her, trying to remember something very important just out of reach before they all recieve a notification.
Dan: Oh, a new video from the Awesome Ones is out!
He pulls up a new tab on YouTube and clicks onto the new video which shows both teams standing across from each other with a silhouette in the middle, with their Guardian Bakugan on small pedastals in front of them. On the Awesome One's side in order sits a kid with brown hair and a red streak wearing a red unbuttoned jacket and undershirt, blue jeans with black hexagonal padding and red and white sneakers. In front of him lies a Pyrus dragon Bakugan.
The second is an African-American with dark-nougat skin, a black afro, green eyes behind red-trimmed glasses, a green checkered shirt over a yellow undershirt and a pair of headphones around his neck, black and white track pants, and brown and black shoes with green soles, a green Bakugan shaped like a T-Rex in front of him. The third is a Chilean-American girl with blue hair styled in a ponytail and an orange hairband, wearing a large white shirt with blue hexagon symbols over a light-blue shirt.
She also has cyan and white shorts and blue, white and yellow high sneakers. In front of her is a white gorrila Bakugan. To her right is a white French bulldog with brown spots around his eyes, ears, tail and a broken-heart shaped birthmark on his right side, wearing a black collar with metal spikes. On top of the dog's head is black dog Bakugan with three heads.
On the side of the Misfits is a boy identical to the first one, wearing a red-yellow sweater with the Pyrus symbol on the left breast, a cyan undershirt, black pants and red, white and cyan sneakers. A Pyrus Bakugan similar to the previous one stands in front of him. The second is another African-American with a shaven head, brown eyes, silver earrings, wearing a green and white football jacket with a white undershirt and a necklace with a golden pendant similar to a Bakugan. He also wears blue jeans and green sneakers that appear to have speakers built into them.
The third is a girl with pink hair with a blue hairpiece on her left side, makeup around her pink eyes, and wearing a stretched-out blue long-sleeved shirt with a white cat spray-painted on it, a pink bracelet with gold spikes one her left wrist, pink shorts, undershirt and high sneakers, joined by a Haos hawk Bakugan.
Webmaster: (vocoded) Gathered friends, before we with begin tonight's presentation. I would like to wholeheartedly thank both the members of the Awesome Ones and Misfit Clan for accepting me as one of their own despite not being a brawler myself. (to his right) Jonah "Dan" Kouzo and Pyrus Behemos, Wynton Styles and Ventus Trox, Lia Venegas and Haos Gorthion, Lightning and Darkus Howlkor, (to his left) Mike "Dan" Kouzo and Pyrus Titanus, Griffin Tessly, and Mia Ono and Haos Ventri. Neither I or your teams would be half of what we all are today without your inclusion and bonds of brotherhood. Espcially the two Dan's. Even now I still can't decide which one to call Dan #1, Dan #2 or Dan #3 if he's listening to this video I know he's watching with his friends.
Runo: (snickers) Dan #3? Now I know what I'm going to be calling you for a while.
Julie: (angry) The only number Dan deserves is #1, Runo!
Jonah: (playful sigh) How many times, do we have to tell you? Our names are Jonah and (points to the other Pyrus brawler) Mike. It's not our fault our cousin's nickname is stuck to us like glue. We're just called by our actual names when there is only two or more Dans on the scene.
Mike: (nods) That name would belong to our cousin in Bayview, Dan Kuso. (a picture of Dan appears) I heard he just reached #117 today.
Webmaster: (vocoded) Indeed, it was meant to be a single battle with local Bayview bully, Shuji (his picture is pulled down by hand to the right) But I have personally come to learn that a beginner to the game by the name of Lyon Minakanushi (pulls an annoymous photo from the left) was put into a situation after he was by found by younger brother and similar hoodlum Akira for, (a third one is pulled from the bottom right, mimcs Shuji perfectly) "making fun of the way I battle". Both pro and beginner worked together to defeat the brotherly duo, the Brawler teaching Lyon everything he knows about brawling, lending him a borrowed deck and in turn, was able to teach Dan a thing or two.
Dan: (jubilant) HA! See I told you, Runo! I am teacher material!
Runo: (rolls her eyes) That's just one person who's saying that, Dan. If other people saw you like I do, they would carry a very different tune. But I suppose this kid must be smart enough to be able to teach you something.
Dan: And there goes Runo again, always the pessimist.
Marchuo: What I'm more concerened is that this webmaster just knew something that just happened today.
Webmaster: (vocoded) With things here in Bayview covered, we shall now turn our attention to the Awesome Brawlers down in sunny Los Valmos, California. Tell me Lia, how have things been since you first met your Bakugan at that crater? Word on the grapevine mentions that your Bakugan are unique among the rest of their kind, much like those of the Misfits. Me and my friends have come to call these special little snowflakes Guardian Bakugan.
Dan: Guardian Bakugan? That must have been what Lyon has been talking about back at the park.
Lia: Yep, Gorthion and I have become an awesome team for quite awhile now. We were actually celebrating Jonah's birtday the night the cards fell. With the Bakugan around, things have been getting better than ever!
Wynton: Trox and I are doing pretty good too. The way we brawl back home involves BakuCores, (An image appears to his side) hexagonal discs of energy found in the Hide Matrix in every battlefield created when you use your Field Cards. (a picture of a hexagonal dome appears) The Cores themselves have five different types, so you'll have to find out what they when you find and throw them.
Marucho: (scribbling something down, excited) Oh, this is good stuff. This is very good stuff.
Webmaster: (nods intrigued, then pulls a party favor and blows) Well now. Happy Belated Birthday to you, Jonah Kouzo and many more to come (not to be confused with Mandy Moore). Mia, I hear things over north in San Barbaras have been... strained as of late. (hols out a jar full of quarters) Quarter for your thoughts?
Mia: (sctaches her head) That's putting it mildly, there have some people that haven't been taking the Bakugan's presence here on Earth well. Some want them gone, some have their own nefarious purposes for these creatures, or some just want to seem them all fall by their hand. I think that all it will take to set them off and give them what they want is one little incident, something to send them over the edge.
Griffin: Wow. Morbid.
Runo: Agreed.
Alice: (cups her mouth) Oh no...
Julie: (crying) Those poor Bakugan.
Marucho remains silent as Dan silently growls, clecnching his fists in fury.
Webmaster: (solemnly nods) Morbid as it may be, Mr. Styles, Lady Ono is correct. People fear what they do not understand, what they cannot understand, they must control, and what they cannot control, they must destroy. That is both the definition of "xenophobia" and the lucky word on my "Word of the Day" calendar.
Marucho: (to Dan) Dan, news aside. I might suggest you set your sights on Shun, he's ranked #1 and in a few years you could surpass him.
Dan is stung by his words and becomes even more downtrodden.
Alice: A few years? There has to be some way for you can challenge him or something. Isn't there?
Dan: (hands on head) Feh. I bet I could take that jerk. (leans back on chair) I don't mean to brag you know, but no one's come even close to challenging him. Better look out, Shun. Because I'm gonna take you down.
Webmaster: (ominous) The Omniverse has seen the cycle of hatred repeat far too many times to count. It's only because of brave heroes and noble brawlers like you that we are able to discern right from wrong. But there is always time to reverse the curve, isn't that right, Dan Kuso, Runo Misaki, Choji "Marucho" and Chozo "Xendai" Marukura, Julie Makimoto, Alice Gehabich, Shun Kazami, Juno Reyes, Andrew, Ajit, Lyon Izanagi Minakanushi?
The Battle Brawlers are all shocked by the Webmaster's calling of their names. The Awesome Ones and Misfits show similar reactions, but compared the Brawlers, they seem to have expected something like this.
Marucho: Hold on, you mean he knows we're watching his video?
The Webmaster's visage and surroundings change, the hooded man appearing as that of Lyon himself, unlike his optimistic and cheerful expression, his whole demeanor is far more serious, a deep, hollow look in his eyes. The room is now empty, candlelight coming from behind the camera shot. Two monitors showing the Awesome Ones and Misfit clan are on his left and right.
Lyon: (coldly) They can also hear you too. So before I switch things over from a dire audio message to a more... public feed, I have come to deliver you all a warning. The world as you know and love is going to change forever, and no matter what you or your Bakugan partners can do won't stop the coming of this brave new world. Bakugan is far more than just a kid's game. And when you face Shuji again tomorrow, Dan Kuso. You will know what I have always known as you all embrace the world I was made to live in. (switches to the previous state, vocoded) Pardon the interruption, friends. Without further ado, I welcome you to tonight's presentation: Who Let the Chomp Out?
Kazami Dojo
The scene turns to a dojo found in the deep wilderness. On its ground lies black haired boy
Boy: (mentally) Ha! Defending my rank has been joke when battling against these amateurs. What I need is a serious challenger. One that understands the power that lies in the Vestroia dimension. (looks at his BakuPod, having watched the video in real time) These Awesome Ones and Misfit Clan certainly have skill, but lack wisdom and drive. This Lyon Minakanushi is different than the others, even compared to the other Brawlers. There is indeed truth to both his word and omen, but without a Bakugan to truly call a partner, he's just spewing hot steam.
Pyrule, Vestroia
At the same time
A dimensional rift appears in blank space moving the viewer to the attribute wheel, the six symbols turning into small galaxies.
Unknown: If only the human they call Dan could understand that Bakugan is not just a game, something the one called Lyon knows far too well. An even larger battle is taking place in my universe; Vestroia. A universe fueled by six worlds, each with its own element.
The camera zooms in on the brown galaxy, showing a mountainous, rocky landscape. A Subterra Juggernoid emergs from the earth and in the distance rises a giant golem, a sphinx and a minotaur.
Unknown: The Earth element, called Subterra.
The scene shifts to show a white Siege carrying a staff with a star-shaped symbol.
Unknown: The element of Light, Haos.
The Siege braces himself for battle. An alicorn flies in front of him, followed by an armored tiger that roars.
Unknown: The Dark element: Darkus.
The scene changes again to a dark void. From one of the black holes charges a black lizard with a pink horn.
Unknown: Aquos, or what the humans would call; the Water element.
The scene changes to an oceanic space with floating glaciers. An Aqous Robotallion emerges from the water. An ice pillar passes, showing a humanoid reptile, a lion and a humanoid hammerhead shark standing on it.
Unknown: The Wind element: Ventus.
The scene changes to a tempestuous space choked in tornados. A Ventus Falconeer flies into it while a green phoenix flies out followed by a comically flailing spinosaurus.
Unknown: ...and the Fire element, Pyrus.
The scene shows a space ravaged by flames with a pale, skeletal dragon with black and red eyes flying by with withered wings.
Unknown: Naga, wait!
A red and yellow dragon with green eyes and a golden horn on his stops the aforementioned Naga, accompanying him is a small mote of rainbow light.
Naga: Out of my way, Drago!
Drago: Why are you so obsessed with gaining all this power, Naga? You know it will lead to your ultimate destruction.
Naga: (spreads his wings) Silence! You have no idea of what we feel inside. You know nothing of our world. I thought that if that little pet of yours could learn and understand, you would as well, I was gravely mistaken.
Drago: I suspect that you were the one behind the humans they call Michael and Lyon. What I'd like to know is... where did you find them?
Naga: (laughs) Do you what this is?
The pale Bakugan pulls out one of the same black cards in his claws. Drago's eyes narrow, answering Naga's question.
He throws the card to his right, opening a rectangular gateway.
Drago: (surprised) A portal?!
Naga: Yes! (he flies through it as it closes) It leads to the source of the power!
Drago: But to where?! (He flinches as he looks around, hearing his voice and noticing that his companion missing) Ameno!
Naga: (offscreen) The dimension of Vestroia!
Vestroia Battlefield, Neutral Timespace
Next Evening
Dan travels along the sidewalk of a roadway, finding Shuji and Akira and a rather strained Lyon barely able to stand all waiting for them.
Shuji: I want a rematch!
Dan: Give me a break! You like losing?
Shuji: (high-pitched voice) Zip it! Either we brawl or I let my fists do the talking!
Akira: Yeah!
Dan looks over Lyon, his body looks sick and black markings running across his body like a poison. He's sweating profusely and his breathing is ragged.
Shuji: Don't look me, Dan! He was like this when I got here. He said that you would be coming.
Lyon: (heavy breathing, sour) Shuji speaks the truth. (notices his silence) Spare me the pity until after the brawl. This one's on you alone, Dan. I'm barely in any condition to stand, let alone brawl. If you lend me you strength, I'll share with you my wisdom.
Dan / Shuji / Lyon: (pull out Field Cards, flipping it, Lyon's glowing gold again while Shuji's glows purple) Field Open!
A car passes by and leaves fall as the Vestroian magic circle activates, stopping time. After the two set their Gate Cards, Shuji pulls out a black and purple Bakugan.
Shuji: (grins) Let's do this. Bakugan, Brawl! (the Bakugan opens to reveal a Darkus Juggernoid) Bakugan, Stand. Rise, Darkus Juggernoid!
Juggernoid shells hovers above the ground before it slams down, making Dan jump before it reveals itself.
Dan: Yikes! (Juggernoid reveals himself) Oh no. How in the world did you get your hands on a Darkus Bakugan?
Lyon: (weary) I have a feeling that the alternative Shuji mentioned earlier may have something to do with it.
Shuji (vein pulses) Here's a thought, kid. Why don't you call me... Master of Darkus?
Lyon: (mutters) More like Master of Sore Losing.
Dan: (sweat drops) Give me a break! If I'm gonna call you anything, it's Loser.
Shuji: (angrily hops with angry lines) Urgh! I've had it with you, you little creep! Are we gonna do this or what?!
Dan: Sure! (flips and catches his Bakugan) Just give me a minute, would ya? Now what should I counter with? Something big or small? (looks to Lyon)
Lyon: (holds his left arm steady). This trifling skirmish is little more than a distraction. The true battle draws neigh as the circle nears completion. (Dan blinks confusedly, sighs and points) He threw Juggernoid on his own Gate Card, so consider a G-Power boost for him. I'd go for something strong and fast if you want to battle him. Use the turtle's own weight against him.
Dan: Strong and fast, huh? (gets an idea) I got it! Bakugan, Brawl!
Dan exerts a heavy grunt as he throws his Bakugan over Juggernoid and onto his own Gate Card.
Dan: Bakugan, Stand! Go, Pyrus Saurus!
Shuji (suprised, then growls) Argh! You gotta be kidding me! That's it? That's all you got?
Lyon: You think Dan is here is going to fall for the same trick twice, Shuji? He isn't ranked 117 for nothing!
Dan: Hey! Didn't anyone tell that size doesn't matter?
Shuji: (pulls out another Bakugan) It's your funeral. Now to bowl these little twerps away for good. Bakugan, Brawl!
The Bakugan lands on Dan's Gate Card, opening to show a stinger tail and two sides with claw indentations.
Shuji: Now, Darkus Stinglash! Stand!
Stinglash, a scorpion Bakugan with a human head for its face, rises to meet Saurus. Dan looks at his BakuPod in surprise.
BakuPod OS: DARKUS STINGLASH POWER LEVEL 330Gs. SAURUS POWER LEVEL 280Gs.
Stinglash attempts to drive his stinger tail into Saurus armor, but the styracosarurus Bakugan dodges the attack and grabs his tail. Dan runs over to the Gate Card to assess the battle.
Dan: Looks like I need a little power boost. Gate Card, open! Pyrus Reactor!
The Gate Card bursts into flames as the BakuPods recognize the change.
BakuPod OS: SAURUS POWER BOOST TO 310Gs.
This does little against Stinglash however as the scorpion grabs Saurus' right leg and impales his right claw into his chest. Saurus gasps at this as he is forced off the Gate Card and sent back to ball form to Dan.
Dan: (mentally) This is not looking good. If I don't find a way to boost Saurus by at least 20 or more Gs, my Bakugan is fried!
Shuji (catches Stinglash and laughs) Haha! So how does it feel to get your butt kicked good and proper!
Dan: Hey, this battle is far from over! (a painful grunt has Dan see to Lyon, whose kneeling with his hand on his heart) Lyon! Are you okay?!
Lyon: (breathing grows heavier, echoing) No, I'm not. Something is wrong. The walls between realms are thin here, so easy to tear open. Do you know what would happen if true infinity and silence would meet here?
Vestroia's Core, Vestroia
At the same time
Naga, followed by a dimmer version of the rainbow light emerge from the portal, finding themselves in the space between the six realms.
Naga: (glances to his left) So, you managed to follow me all the way here, did you Ameno? (chuckles) You always were the determined little wisp. I suppose it's no small consequence that you are here to witness my ascension. Unlike Drago, you have always sought to understand the true nature of things, from the Bakugan, from my kind, and from that worthless legend. The fact that you couldn't really talk back to me made your presence tolerable at least. (turns to his front, two cores of energy rotating around each other) Yes. I have reached the center of the universe! Amazing!
Ameno gives off a light, yet low-pitched chirp.
Naga: Indeed... There they are! The two conflicting forces; Infinity and Silence.
The white Bakugan hovers over to the Silent Core as Ameno sneaks around to in the space between the cores. Ameno gives off a worried beeping.
Naga: They keep the dimension in balance, Ameno. If I can absorb these two energies...
The skeletal dragon opens his wings as he slowly inches closer to the negative energy. Ameno emanates a violent shriek as he tries to stop his friend, but is immobilized between the two energies.
Naga: (laughs) Hahaha! I can unite with Hal-G and together we can conquer Earth and Vestroia!
Ameno sturggles harder against the two forces, but knows it's no use. Suddenly the orb is struck with invention and moves his being into the Infinity Core, wisps of negative energy being pulled from the Silent Core and into the orb. The entity is filled with a warm, radiant power as Naga expriences the same, opposite senstaion. Ameno gives a off cheerful chime, pretending to go along with the plan.
Naga: The power! Feel the glorious power, Ameno! (his body glows brighter) Excellent! The power! The infinite power building inside of me, I- (his body now begins to controt with pain as he is being drawn in, Ameno is drawn to the Infinity Core with the Silent Core energy he has stolen) No... What's happening?!
Ameno gives off a series of analytical arias, before he vanishes in the Infinity Core's light.
Naga: An overload of negative energy?! I can't control the balance! Too much! TOO MUCH! No! Not enough positive energy! (he extends his left as his body is absorbed by the Silent Core) It's out of control! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The Silent Core darkens as a burst of energy launches Ameno and the Infinity Core out of orbit, tearing through the barrier between dimenions and spiraling through space-time. This sudden influx of energy spreads out across the realms, effecting the land and the native Bakugan, from Juggernoids, to Falconeers, to a Darkus humanoid Bakugan with hands the size of its torso, its yellow eyes glowing with malice.
Pyrule
Drago feels the sensation too from, struggling to keep himself standing as he sees his realm's barrier falling apart.
Drago: What's... happening? Naga! This must be Naga's doing! Ameno, please be okay.
The same Darkus Bakugan emerges from the other side of the veil as it charges into the dragon Bakugan, barely dodging to the right as it turns around, ready to slash him into sashimi.
Drago: (surprised) What is a Darkus Bakugan doing in Pyrule?
The Bakugan makes another charge that the dragon dodges before veers around and grabs onto him.
Back at the battle between Dan and Shuji, the energy waves have made their way to the Vestroia Battlefield, followed by thunder and lighting. Dan looks on in confusion as his surroundings become enveloped in flames.
Dan: (mentally) Man, this is getting weird. First a change in the battlefield's weather forceast, then Lyon keels over, glows like a rainbow, then vanishes, and now I'm in some kind of inferno?
Dan is taken aback as Drago and his opponent rise from in front of them, the human's red eyes and the Bakugan's green eyes lock with each other before the latter flies off
Dan: (stunned) It's like a whole new dimension is filling our Bakugan with more power, right in the middle of the battlefield! (watches Drago's fight) Why does my Bakugan have bigger flames? I've never seen this before..., my Bakugan is getting so much stronger! Lyon, where are you? Lyon!
His suroundings turn into that of a dimensional tuneel that he falls through screaming, covering his eyes. When he opens them again, he sees that he is back in the battle, with his Sepenoid taking on Shuji's Stinglash.
Dan: (dazed) That was just... totally weird.
Shuji: Enough fooling around! It's time to end this battle! Darkus Stinglash, Attack!
Stinglash makes another sting barrage, but Serpenoid manages to wrap himself around the scorpion's tail, shocking Shuji.
Dan: (focused) Hey, Shuji! What happened to your trash talk? Scared your scrawny Stinglash can't handle the pressure? Right, Lyon?
Dan turns to him, but finds that he hasn't returned from his little trip.
Dan (mentally) He's still not back yet? I'm worried about him, but I can't get distracted here. He's been able to tie us 2-2 before that lightshow went off. It's time I bring it home. (vocally) Gate Card: Quartet Battle, Open! Now! Get ready, Shuji, cause a few more Bakugan have been invited to the party!
Dan's Gate Card opens in rainbow light as he explains the card's ability. Back in Pyrule, Drago and his opponent continue to fight as the barrier between Pyrus and Darkus completely gives out. The two suddenly glow with the same light from before as the cards in the brawlers' hands start glowing.
Dan: (shocked) My... ability card is... transforming!
A small sphere of light emerges from the card and launches itself onto the Gate Card, same with Shuji's, the latter being knocked back. The light from the two Bakugan fade as the new card forms.
Dan: Whoa. Isn't this a Dragonoid's card?
The two Bakugan open up. The attacker's top raising and splitting open to show its giant hands and Drago's bottom flips open while the open opens its wings and long, horned neck, spinning around and generating flames. The two glow as the two Bakugan continue their fight in this new domain.
Dan: (blinks) Whoa! Those are the same beasts that I saw in my vision!
Unknown: You must come to your senses!
Dan hears the new voice and looks around to try and find it.
Dan: What the- Who said that? (he looks up at the dragon Bakugan) Was it you?
Drago: Fear Ripper! Snap out of it! (the two spin in the air) The negative energies of the Silent Core have taken over your power of reason.
Dan: (moves closer) My ears aren't... playing tricks on me?
Fear Ripper doesn't appear to be able to listen to the Dragonoid's words as his eyes glow brighter.
Dan: His power is... building?!
Drago: (kicks Fear Ripper off of him as he rears back, launching a fireball) Boosted Dragon!
Wardington, Japan, Earth
Seconds Later
The attack proves too much for the stunned Bakugan as he is defeated and time resumes back on Earth. Shuji is seen laying on the ground with Fear Ripper and his Bakugan as Akira runs up to him.
Akira: Are you okay, man?
Shuji: I lost again! (cries)
Dan is taken aback as he ponders what he had just witnessed, also noticing that Lyon is still not with him upon returning to his home dimension.
Dan: (mentally) I don't get it. I thought Bakugan was just a game.
Memory Lyon: (flashback) The world as you know and love is going to change forever, and no matter what or your Bakugan partners can do won't stop the coming of this brave new world. Bakugan is so much more than just a kid's game. And when you face Shuji again tomorrow, Dan Kuso. You will know what I have always known as you all embrace the world I was made to live in.
Dan: (mentally) That must have been what Lyon was talking about last night in the video! (he opens his hand, revealing Drago in his palms) There's got to be more to it, and I'm going to find out what!
Dan's Room, Kuso Residence
Nighttime
Dan: (to Drago) Okay. If you're in there, talk to me. Cause I want to get to the bottom of this!
Drago remains silent in his hand, either by choice or by some outside force.
Dan: (frustrated) Aw man, this is totally pointless! It's just a game piece! But I heard it! (pokes him) I thought I heard it talking, didn't I?
The brawler brings the Dragonoid up to his ear and brings him back down.
Dan: (defeated) Oh boy, I'm losing my mind. (brings Drago up to his again) Hmm... But I'm sure I heard it.
Memory Lyon: (voiceover) You will know what I have always known as you all embrace the world I was made to live in.
Dan: "Know what I have always known..." "Embrace the world I was made to live in." Was that what Lyon said last night?
Dan decides not to fuss over this and lays back on his bed.
Dan: Ah, no biggie! But, seeing as you're a Dragonoid... I'm gonna call you Drago. Sweet! That's your new name, buddy. Hope you like it! (he places Drago between an anime girl figurine and a toy cat-tank hybrid) Man. For a minuite there, I actually thought it talked! I gotta lay off the sodas. (gets back up to his computer) Welp, time to hook up to the Web. G'night, Drago.
Dan boots up the computer with Runo, Marucho, Julie and Alice all waiting for him.
Marucho: Dan! You're there!
Dan: Hey guys! You're not gonna believe this. But I was brawling with this dude named Shuji when I thought I heard my Bakugan talk!
Runo: No way! You too?
Dan; (surprised by her news) What d'ya mean, Runo? You sayin' someone else heard them too?
Julie: (raises finger) You should head to the Bakugan site. It's what everyone's talking about.
Brawler: It spoke to me and everything!
More and more children begin popping up on Dan's computer as they say the same thing that Runo mentioned; that their Bakugan have started to talk to their brawlers, making Dan gasp.
Dan: (mentally as the camera zooms out) It did talk! Maybe the Bakugan world has more to it than we thought! Lyon... Where are you?
Unknown Dimension
If there's one thing Lyon Minakanushi has come to rely upon during increasingly bad things is that under any circumstance can you never say phrases such as "What could possibly go wrong?" or "It could be worse..." and not get jinxed. Because whenever Murphy's Law is in play, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." And in some formulations, it is extended to "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time."
Since waking up this morning, he felt this lingering sensation of dread increasingly pounding his soul with every passing hour. By the point of Shuji's rematch with Dan. The pain had grown to the point that he could barely stand, his illness and circumstance leaving him unable to be found and returned to by the time he leaves. For hours he has been trapped wandering a barren and inhospitable realm to almost all but the most determined or stubborn of life.
The sky is constantly raining down thunder and lightning making it impossible to survive for a long period of time. On the plus side, he's growing ailment has completely vanished upon arriving in this timespace, discovering a glowing rainbow sphere enter him as he fell into a conviently placed pond. His survival skills has allowed him to properly navigate this dead realm for this long. The only current problem is food, water, shelter and whatever stamina and strength he has left before the realm's denizens catch his scent.
His garb is almost completely torn and blown apart, his shirts, socks and shoes are gone. His pant legs are shredded up to his knees, his hair is a mess and his body is littered in small scars and brusies alongside the markings from earlier, a massive hole in chest. He currently wanders a valley of strange stone structures, his strength finally weakening as his body is breaking down from the ever rising power that found its way to him during the battle. He leas against the stone visage of a fallen Robotallion, a faint light leaving his body and entering the statue.
Lyon: (lightly chuckles) Well, Dan. It seems that I got the short of the end stick again this time. Like before, you found what I sought without even trying. As usual. While I'm left behind again as everything ends. I thought that with everything beyond us changing, things would be different for us.
Lyon tries to get back up again, but falls down from the strain. Through sheer force of will or plain stubborness, he manages to crawl all the way to top of the mound where a Falconeer statue reaches out to the heavens above for salvation that never came, turning around with his back against the Bakugan's chest.
Lyon: (turns his gaze skyward) Almost completely gone, as if it never existed. But the rift is deep and vast, and somewhere down there it stirs. Something has changed, the prison weakens. We must prepare. Shame I don't have the time to do so this time. Right, Abyss? We knew something like this could happen one of these times. Find my family, tell them everything.
He closes his eyes, ready for things to fade away before something powerful shocks him back awake. He begins to feel a burning sensation writhing in his chest as he looks down to see an emerald gemstone with six energies circling a golden core embedded into his torso. This surge of power revitalizes him and begins to spread out across his body, causing the markings on his body to glow gold. His hair glows gold as well as lightning arcs across his broken form.
Lyon tries to hold in this new power, getting back on his feet and rising, clutching his head as if trying to keep it from splitting open. Eventually, the energy proves too much for even he to contain and he lets with a raging scream and is consumed by cosmic light. The power grows so bright that it illuminates the land beyond the valley, to the prisons and its "guests", and above to the realms above.
Back in Wardington Park, the area around the fountain begins to glow with fractures that continue to multiply, as if someone or something is breaking through by sheer force. A boy's screams of angush is all that can be heard as a blinding well of light pierces the heavens again spreading across the sleeping city as it spreads across the rest of the planet.
And in Vestroia, slowly spiraling down a path of self-destruction carved by one Bakugan's desire for power feels that same power rising and overflowing from beneath them and surging past them to the what lies beyond even that. In that place, a human forever changed comes to a universe that was always meant to end falls like a comet to a city of gold and silver. The eruption of such divine power proves destructive enough to annihilate their universes, enveloping everything in darkness before cracks in reality form and emit a bright, white light.
Back in the dimension, the boy has left as the realm returns to empty void it once was.
Suddenly, the Robotallion statue starts to glow. Orbs of elemental energy flew out of the Bakugan statues. Red, white, blue, green, brown, and purple orbs fly out of each and every one. All the energy piles together into a miniature golden sun beneath where Lyon once stood, growing larger and more powerful with each sphere it absorbs. Suddenly a humanoid draconic Bakugan is born from said energy and after letting an echoing roar, flies up high into the rift the well created before it is sealed behind him.
Next Time...
Dan: Coming up on Bakugan: Battle Brawlers. I tried to get Drago to talk at school, but all that happens is that I get in big trouble with my teacher. She doesn't get it! She thinks Drago is a toy, at least she thought it was when Lyon suddenly shows up out of the blue, looking like a completely different person from the last time we met! And to make matters worse, this dude called Masquerade shows up, blasting everyone's Bakugan into the Doom Dimension! Wait until you see what the happens when the Brawlers battle Masqeurade and Reaper, and whatever Lyon does and finds during and afterwards is anyone's guess but his!
Drago roars.
Dan: Let's battle!
And that is the first chapter returned to ball form with Gate Card in tow. By following guidelines set by Legionnaire Blaze's challenge. I have come with a somewhat stable guideline. I know that the time of the Neo Battlers Tournament, at least Dan, Runo and Marucho have Drago, Tigrerra and Preyas on their teams, so give that little side-plot the time it needs.
Lyon Izanagi, named after the player character's voice actor and the Japanese creation gods is the only brawler capable of harnessing the power of Aurelus Bakugan, with matching skills and abilities from the first game and Defenders of the Core. The player characters in Champions of Vestroia and Dimensions will be considered part of the Minakanushi family. Sure he follows the typical protagonist archetype with same personality and skillset from the first wo games, but I think there can be so much more to his story.
Attribute changers such as Preyas, Elfin, Elico, Nemus and Brontes can call upon the attribute's power, but actively drains them due to the overwhelming power the attribute carries.
Baku-Fusions with Aurelus Bakguan such as Drago, Pegatrix, Trox, Hydorous, Howlkor, and Sabrus are allowed, but only to be used during Act 2 of New Vestroia / Armored Alliance and Legends / Mectanium Surge: Act 2.
Other Aurelus Brawlers and their partners such as Ajit, Pharol, Pincitaur, Titan King and Lancer, Albert Kamynski, Skullor and Aura and certain Gate Crasher members will be reintroduced as Subterra Brawlers. Pharol X Aurelus will be known and Gregorious Reed will still use Aurleus Bakugan, or rather Viloch and Spartillion wil be using him.
Episodes from Gen 2 and Gen 3 that are not considered filler will be eligible to have their own chapters, as are elements from both verisons such as characers, Bakugan, abilities, Baku-Cores, Evolution cores, Mods, B.A.M. Zones and etc.
They wil be as followed:
Battle Brawlers / Battle Planet / Revolution|G3
New Vestroia / Armored Alliance
Gundalian Invaders / Geogan Rising
Mechtanium Surge: Act 1 / Evolutions
Mechtanium Surge: Act 2 /Legends
Gen 3 Bakugan will be in the following Attributes and evolutions.
Pryus - Gold-Titanium Dragonoid / Gold Treyzer / Gold-Titanium Flame / Gold-Titanium Butterclaw
Ventus - Gold-Titanium Trox / Gold Smoke / Gold Treyzaur / Gold Talan / Gold Mantid / Tarantulai
Haos - Gold-Titanium Ventri / Gold Hail / Gold-Titanium Spidra
Subterra - Gold-Titanium Brusier / Gold King / Gold Grizzles
Aquos - Gold-Titanium Hammerhead / Razor / Gold Octogan
Darkus - Gold-Titanium Nilious /Gold Hook / Gold Pen-G / Gold Screech / Fanger / Gold-Titanium Spidra
Elements from the video games such as the attribute battlefields appearing in Reactor Gate Cards or battles regarding two or more of the same attribute, Hyper Abilities and Battle Items, Tournaments, Abyss, Core Energy, Holograms, and etc. are used.
The Battle Brawlers, Awesome Brawlers and Misfit Clan will start out as separate groups, but will merge into a super-clan. The same will occur between the Doom Beings and AAAnimus Inc. (before the former betrays them), the Vexos and Haavik's Thrall, the Gundalian Empire and Gregorious' gang, The Chaos Army and the Gate Crashers, and the Nonet Army and Hanoj's Swarm.
Shun Kazami (G2) will be reintrodueced as Marucho's younger (and taller) brother named Chozo "Sendai" Marukuro, The Dan Kouzos from the reboots will become Dan Kuso's American cousin's, their names changed to that of their voice actors; Jonah and Mike, when in the same scene at the same time. They go by their nickname of "Dan" when alone. G2 Dan will brawl with Pyrus Behemos and G3 Dan will brawl with an OC Bakugan named Titanus.
Hydranoid (G2) will be renamed to Hydrax, though Hydranoid will still be able to perform fusion with a more unique Bakugan. Trox (G3) will be renamed into Spinox, a spinosaurus Bakugan. Both he and Trox can use Gold and Titanium Evolution.
Gargonoid (G2) will replace the original Gargonoid due to its X Webam Baku-Fusion.
Battle Planet evolutions (Base - Hyper - Titan - Maximus) can be used by all Bakugan, but can only reach the next level upon evolving or meeting special criteria.
Gold and Titanium evolutions will be used once Juno discovers how to harness Aurelus energy and weaponize it.
Baku-Gear will be usable during New Vestroia's first act and Faction Fusion with the second act.
Geogan will appear in Gundalian Invaders with Strength/Speed Modes, Nanogan and Nano-Gear in Evolutions/Mechtanium Surge: Act 1
Much of these abilities will be reintroduced through Nova Light awakened in Mechtanium Surge upon Mechtavius Destroyer's arrival and Hanoj's reawakening.
