Maggie's eyes shift nervously between the other two chewing her lower lip in indecision.

"Let me make this easier for you, shall I?" Linda suggested with a pleased smile that has Maggie's gaze snapping back to her with a held breath as the dark-haired woman's eyebrow rose in silent question.

Maggie only nodes once when she realized the question had been a genuine one. Linda smiles wider as she leans in across the table towards the one now attempting to not draw attention to the fact she was shrinking back into her chair when she sees the hand Linda now held over her phone. "You try it Sawyer and I promise I will text her right now and tell her you decided to cancel."

"You wouldn't." Maggie whispers praying her voice hadn't betrayed just how genuinely heartbroken she was over what she rationally knew to be an empty threat on Linda's part.

Even Winn looked shocked by the threat as his eyes meet Maggie's across the table. "Just do it, Mags. It's okay." He sighs rubbing his free hand along the more 'five o'clock shadow' scruff growing at his chin. If anything, Winn was sure Linda was even keener on this game night turned double date night than Maggie was after his girl shared her scheming idea about setting up his work partner and her residence of a best friend from the hospital Lind volunteered at a few times a week.

"Sorry, Schott." The Latina whispered dropping the card onto the growing stack.

Draw four.

Considering Winn and Linda had been down to their last two cards whilst Maggie was holding three of her own after the last turn it hadn't been difficult to guess who had the deciding 'wild' left in this latest round of cards, they had decided on whilst the waited for the last member of their little game night to arrive

Winn only smiles reaching his cards free hand across the table for a high five. One that Maggie guiltily accepts before the allotted cards were drawn and added to his hand with only a curious "Color, Sawyer?"

Before Maggie could answer two separate tired-sounding knocks rapped against the apartment door.

Maggie can already see Linda's hand resting in a light restraint against Winn's arm stilling his own attempt to get up and invite whoever it was inside. "Get that for us will you, Sawyer?" Linda questions busying herself with collecting the other cards and reshuffling the deck regardless of the fact the current game hadn't officially finished.

"Are we ever going to start dinner?" Winn asked aloud at the same time his stomach gives another audible rumble of hunger.

"I think that's entirely up to Maggie." Linda says as the Latina makes the quick crossing to the waiting visitor on the other side of the door.

"Yeah sur…" Maggie starts to say only for her very breath to be snatched from her lungs once her eyes fall on the figure now standing on her best friend's doorstep.

"Danvers." Linda smiles catching sight of her from the slim opening Maggie had made of opening the door to allow her entry. "Glade, you could finally make it." She greets. "another few minutes and Sawyer and I were going to come to bust you out."

"I was in the middle of surgery, Lin." The one Maggie knew now was called 'Danvers' sasses back as Maggie steps aside but she doesn't miss the way Danvers's eyes follow her as she passes nor the dusting of pink that colored her cheeks when she catches Maggie's already watchful gaze trained on her.

"Well now you're in the middle of game night and you my dear can be our tiebreaker." Linda decides as Maggie finishes in taking Alex's leather jacket and hanging it up beside her own by the re-closed and relocked door.

"What tiebreaker? We haven't decided anything." Winn pipes up only to be softly hushed by his grinning girlfriend.

"I have a new game we can play." Linda declares reclaiming her seat across Winn's lap as Maggie and Alex settle on either side of the sofa.

"Oh no." the other three say in near unison at the sinfully amused expression as Linda's eyes flicker between the newly introduced couple sitting opposite her.

"That's the same face you made when you got the 'brilliant' idea to play tic-tac-toe with peanut butter sandwiches." Alex recognized

"I was more than a little buzzed that night if you remember." Linda defends. "and you've already admitted to having fun that night too Danvers so don't even try to use that as a defense." She adds with a truly sisterly smile in the other woman's direction.

"I take the fifth." Alex scoffs gratefully accepting the beer Maggie thinks to offer her.

Linda rolled her eyes. "It's truth or dare." She relented.

The other three exchanged a glance. Alex and Maggie's towards one another are far shyer than the ones they each shared with Winn as Linda leans forwards across the seated man's lap towards them.

"What do you think?" Maggie probes

Alex's eyes flicker between them as she chews at her lower lip in indecision. "With her, you never know." She admits

"That's why you love me." Linda reminds again in that sisterly tone that never fails to bring a smile from the other three sitting around her.

"You do know I'm sitting right here?" Winn reminds earning a chuckle from the two on the sofa.

"and you do realize where I'm sitting right?" Linda answers looping her arms around the grinning man's neck. "and there is nowhere else I'd rather be." She adds leaning her head against the grinning man's shoulder.

"Cavities." Alex and Maggie say at the same time.

"So, Danvers." Alex sits up a little straighter at the sound of her name. "Truth or Dare." Linda lists off

"Let's just get the hard part out of the way, shall we?" the dark-haired one opposite her sighs swirling the remainder of her beer around the bottom of the beer bottle.

Linda smiled wider at this. "Oh?" she probes

"Dare."

Even Linda seems surprised by this, but she shakes it off easily enough as her eyes flicker between the two as she considers the possibilities. "I dare the two of you…."

The newly introduced couple shared a nervous glance as they waited.

"to go grocery shopping for everything on this list." Linda finishes holding out a single sheet of folded paper.

"You're joking right?" Alex asked as Maggie eyed the folded page as something truly dangerous.

"Nope." Linda answers making the 'p' sound pop for added effect as her list free hand slides softly into the soft tresses at the back of Winn's neck.

"Winn and I are getting hungry and this list is what we'll be having for dinner tonight." The dark-haired woman explains still playing absently with her boyfriend's hair. "and what better way of getting to know someone than with a trip to the local grocery store?" she adds with a playful giggle as Alex's tentatively reached out to take the offered page.
