I don't own the Breakfast Club

Enjoy!

Word about Andrew's expulsion from the wrestling team spread like wildfire at Shermer High. And Allison felt that she was stuck in the middle of it. The moment that Allison walked to the schoolgrounds, she felt that every classmates' eyes were on her. She was caught off guard when she saw a group of wrestlers from Andrew's team looking at her as if she was a new student. Allison had adjusted to being visible and open to her friends, but not these people that wouldn't dare even look at her.

Allison clutched tightly onto her notebooks and evaded her eyes from the group. She quickly walked, silently praying that they wouldn't sneer as she passed them, until she was at the vicinity of her locker. She slightly turned her head and looked over her shoulder, only to see that the group of wrestler had pinned their eyes onto her.

What just happened yesterday? Allison raised her eyes and looked around the hallway, hoping to see Andrew. He could have a proper explanation about this but when she didn't see him, a knot formed in her stomach. He was usually the one that would walk up to her locker and give her the usual morning greeting. A kiss on the cheek that always made her feel wanted. Allison turned her attention back towards her locker, making it seem as if she was busy getting out her textbooks. She felt anxious as if she knew that something like this was going to happen.

With Andrew and Claire stepping away from their respectable groups, Allison had a feeling that their groups would question as to why this was happening…and who knew what they might do? The sound of footsteps coming her way made Allison alert. She quickly turned around and to her relief, she was glad that it was Brian Johnson. Allison let out a gentle sigh at the sight of a familiar and friendly face.

Brian tilted his head to the side. "You doing okay, Allison?" he asked her, "you look like you've seen a ghost."

More like the living who could sense her hesitation. "No I'm fine," Allison answered him, "just trying to get past today." Even though it had already started.

"Yeah about that," Brian spoke up as he looked at the groups walking past them, "did you hear about what happened with Andrew?"

Allison was aware of his expulsion from the team, but the reason behind it, she didn't know. Even though Andrew had his concerns about wrestling, he must have been devastated for being expelled from the team. "What happened?" she finally asked.

"He got expelled from the wrestling team," Brian simply told her the news that she already knew. "Word has it that he got in a fight with a teammate."

Now this was news to her. Allison didn't expect Andrew to fight with another teammate, especially what had happened the first time. She wondered if it had been a disagreement between them or…no, Andrew already felt terrible after what he had done to Larry. Allison didn't believe that he would tape anyone again. Who knows what the reason was? Andrew had been under a lot of pressure lately and he could have…just snapped and taken it out on his teammate.

"Is he at school?" Allison asked Brian.

Brian shrugged his shoulders. "I haven't seen him anywhere today." Brian was slightly concerned about Andrew. After his confession during Saturday detention, Brian felt the amount of pressure that Andrew went through. Not just Andrew, but everyone in the room. Only Andrew had taken out his pressure on someone and not on himself.

The only thing that Allison could hope for, was for Andrew to be alright after that ordeal. Shen then looked down at the notebook and textbook that Brian held. Physics…with the addition of an unopened colored pencils case. A small smile came upon Allison's lips as she looked up at Brian. "You into art, Brian?" she asked him.

Brian looked down at the colored pencils and shook his head. "Just a little something I got for Susan. I'm tutoring her later today and…well…I saw it on display at a supply store and thought I'd get it for her."

Seeing Brian fumbling for words over her friend, Allison didn't know what to make of it. It was endearing that Brian was taking his time, but she wondered if Susan was patient enough with this. Thus far, Susan didn't seem to have trouble with it.

Before Allison made a comment about Brian's relationship with Susan, the sound of footsteps suddenly made their way towards Brian and Allison as both looked up. Allison stiffened at the sight of Andrew's former teammates. From the expression that they beheld, they were far from friendly. "Well," one of them spoke up as he looked at Allison up and down, "this is the little girlfriend that our boy Andrew has."

Brian felt his stomach drop at the unexpected confrontation. He looked over at Allison, who looked like she had expecting this all along.

"'Our boy,'" Angelo scoffed as he glared at his teammate, "Mike, did you see what he did to me? Wake up, idiot!" he then turned his attention towards Allison. "Can't believe that Andrew would start dating this weirdo."

"Enough to tarnish the image of the wrestling team," Tony spoke up. "I mean look at this." He motioned his hand up and down towards Allison, "trash. Complete trash."

Trash Brian thought as he glared at Tony. "Fellas, really," Brian found himself speaking up, "I don't think this is the right time to do this."

Angelo, Tony, and Mike turned their heads towards Brian. "And who's this?" Angelo asked as he gave Brian a shove, causing Brian to stagger backwards and hit the lockers with his back. "Aren't you the kid that bought the flare gun to school?" he beheld a smirk upon his lips as he sneered at Brian. "I gotta say, you got guts…for a kid that looks like a twig."

A roar of laughter erupted from the wrestlers as they began to poke fun at Brian.

Allison was used to these types of 'compliments.' Other than being invisible, others enjoyed throwing her labels thinking that she'd adopt them. Psycho, Basket-case, weirdo. But 'trash?' This was the first time that she had been referred to such a word. However, Allison was not at all bothered by it. She looked at the three wrestlers as they continued to taunt Brian.

Allison appreciated that he stood up for her, but she couldn't stand to see him getting taunted like that. "Hey!" Allison's voice rang out towards the group, "leave him alone."

Angelo smirked as he looked at Allison. "Almost forgot that you're standing there. Now we know you ain't mute." With a smirk he leaned closely towards Allison. He searched her eyes, for any sign of teardrops. In his opinion, girls were easy to break when it came to their image and he believed that Allison was no exception. "What's the matter Psycho? You gonna break to pieces and cry."

You wish Allison thought as she maintained her stance. She was not going to give Angelo the satisfaction. Brining her thumb close to her mouth, Allison cleanly bit off her fingernail and spit it towards Angelo's face.

Angelo recoiled from the nail hitting his face. A shiver traveled down his spine from disgust. "You little—" Angelo exploded as he raised a closed fist, about to strike Allison.

Brian was quick enough to jump between Allison and Angelo and he took the first punch.

"Brian!" Allison yelled as she immediately kneeled behind Brian and tried to help him. Before she could administer any help, Allison felt a hand grabbing onto her black shirt and pulling her upward. Her back contacted the locker as Angelo held her against it.

Tony and Mike exchanged a look and they approached Angelo. "Whoa, whoa," Mike said and grabbed Angelo from the shoulders. "Angelo don't do something you'll regret man."

"Yeah," Tony agreed, "you saw what the coach did with Andrew. You don't want to be kicked off the team."

His twin did have a point. After Andrew's expulsion, Angelo had secured his spot. He knew that he had a lot to prove and he wasn't going to throw it all away like Andrew had. Yet, he couldn't let this girl get away with embarrassing him like that. His hand formed into a fist and he slammed it against the locker, enough to make Allison jump from the vibrating noise. He let go of Allison and pointed his finger at her, "let that be a warning to you, Psycho before you think about spitting at me again." He then looked down at Brian who nursed the wound on his cheek, "and you too, nerd."

Allison felt like she was frozen in place. She watched as Angelo and his teammates walked away. A group of students had gathered around to witness the fight. Thankfully it was only students and no teachers or principals were hovering about. She could take a detention, but she didn't know if Brian would.

Brian. Allison kneeled next to Brian and tried to offer her help the best she could. "Brian do you need to go to the nurse?" she asked him as she helped him up to his feet.

Brian silently shook his head. Allison took his hand and removed it from the spot where he was hit. She breathed in through her teeth at the injury that Brian endured when he protected her from Angelo's punch. "That's gonna leave a mark."

"I can already feel it," Brian told her and flinched at the inflicted wound. "But I'll be okay. Don't worry about it."

"You need to go to the nurse to see that," Allison said.

"No," Brian shook his head at Allison, "it'll be okay." He clutched tightly onto his items and the gift for Susan. "I'm just glad that you're okay Allison."

The bell suddenly rang, indicating the start of their first class. Allison watched as Brian headed down the hallway and towards his first class. She couldn't believe that he had been selfless and chivalrous to take the hit. If it was Andrew, he would have fought back and pinned Angelo to the ground in a quick second. To Allison, Brian had hurt himself to not only protect her, but to also show their classmates around them the type of person that Angelo was.

The one thing that Allison hoped for was that Andrew wouldn't hear about what happened. Otherwise, she couldn't imagine what he might do to Angelo.
