Aizawa looks over his gathered class, "Alright. On day one you had my Quirk Apprehension Test, and on day two you had the Battle Trials. Today, you'll be doing something a little different. Today is Rescue Training. Get suited up and meet me near the bus pickup, we're going on a little field trip."
Intrigued, Nanashi pulls his phone out to see if he can get some hints.
God is Dead, We Killed Him
PunkTactics: Eraserhead is bringing us on a field trip today
PunkTactics: That doesn't really seem like his style though
PunkTactics: So, any hints as to what we'll be doing today?
SweaterWeather: Oh? Was that today?
SweaterWeather: Well I'm afraid I can't tell you anything
PunkTactics: :(
PunkTactics: You sadden me Isabeau
SweaterWeather: I believe I can live with that
PunkTactics: !
PunkTactics: The betrayal!
PunkTactics: How could you?
SweaterWeather: Quite easily
SweaterWeather: You should probably go now
SweaterWeather: Aizawa doesn't enjoy being kept waiting
Pouting, Nanashi gets his gear and changes before heading out to the bus pickup. Seeing his expression, Asahi and Hallelujah do their best to stifle their laughter. One of the Messiahs, sulking like a child. Really, they should be used to this sort of thing by now, but it's just too funny for them.
Nanashi shoots them a glare, "Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. I'm sure everyone else is laughing too after my little conversation with Isabeau."
Soon they're all herded onto the bus, with the three friends immediately grabbing adjacent seats. Nanashi starts a conversation about training that eventually ropes some other students in.
Kaminari stares, wide-eyed, "I'm sorry, you what?"
Nanashi gives a confused look, "I said I do an 8k run twice a day? I don't get what's so confusing about that."
Hallelujah elbows him with a roll of his eyes, "He's reacting like that because you're 15 and willingly getting up early enough for something like that."
"Well of course, I have to maintain my stamina somehow. My Quirk is a huge drain on it, so I need to keep it up if I want to make effective use of it."
Kirishima clenches a fist, "Such manly dedication!"
Nanashi is slightly weirded out by the comment, "Uh… thanks?"
Soon enough, the bus pulls up at their destination, a large domed structure built a good ways away from the main UA campus. How much money did the school have if it could afford this much land?
The students disembark and head inside, being greeted by the Rescue Hero Thirteen.
"Welcome students! As some of you may already know, I am the Pro Hero Thirteen. It is my honor today to welcome you to my little playground. The Unforeseen Simulations Joint! Or USJ for short. As you might be able to guess by now, we'll be starting your rescue training today, but before that I have something very important to discuss with you all. Now then, how many of you know about my Quirk?"
Uraraka jumps excitedly, shooting off about the Hero's Quirk, "Oh! Oh! Your Quirk is called Black Hole! It lets you suck things up and turn them to dust! You've used it for so many rescue operations over the years! It's amazing!"
The Hero chuckles, "Yes I can see how many of you might think that. However, if not used carefully, my Quirk could very easily kill."
The mood immediately sombers, with the students paying more careful attention to Thirteen's words. Nanashi is impressed, he didn't think they'd get into such a serious topic so early on in the year. Guess he should give the school a little more credit, they are number one in the entire country after all.
Thirteen's speech continues, "Quirks are tools that can be used for a variety of purposes, but like many tools they are quite dangerous when used improperly. Great care must be taken to ensure no harm comes to the user or those around them, especially for those of us with more powerful Quirks."
Nanashi can feel several sets of eyes shift to him. It would seem some of the students recognize just how destructive his abilities can be. He isn't concerned though. He has plenty of experience to temper his power with, and a sharp mind to apply said experience with.
Thirteen drags their attention back, "Your Quirks are all gifts, unique and wonderful. I'm hopeful you all understand the responsibility that comes with wielding them, but if not then we at UA are happy to teach you. Your powers are not meant for harm, and by choosing this school it would seem you have recognized that. Here at UA, we will do our utmost to teach you to be Heroes! To teach you to use your Quirks for their true purpose! To save lives!"
Applause ring out from the students as Thirteen takes a small bow. A small smile breaks out across Nanashi's face. It would seem the staff here at UA really were dedicated to their goal of creating the next generation of Heroes.
An overwhelming feeling of wrongness washes over Nanashi, and he finds himself drawing his sword and gun on reflex. It would seem Asahi, Hallelujah, and the Pros also felt it, as all of them have dropped into fighting stances as the lights start flickering. Down in the plaza, Nanashi spots it, a portal tearing its way open.
People begin pouring out in large numbers, giving the students some… unsavory looks. Nanashi counts more than 50 of them before he stops bothering. He has a sinking feeling none of them were here to help with the lesson.
Aizawa confirms this with a shout of, "Those are real Villains! Thirteen, protect the students!", before he goes flying into battle.
It pains Nanashi to leave Aizawa to fight them by himself, but as far as the teachers know he's just a regular student. As they all begin their retreat, the portal appears and looms in front of them, revealing himself to be a person.
"Greetings UA students. I am Kurogiri, here as a representative of the League of Villains. It is quite unfortunate, but it would seem that we must claim your lives. Note that this is in no way personal, but we must lure the Symbol of Peace here for our plans."
Almost before he even finishes speaking, Bakugou and Kirishima rush him. From his position in the back, Nanashi throws a Zionga out to try and stun Kurogiri, since he suspects that the frontal assault from the other two won't be all that effective.
His guess is proven correct as the mist man expands his gaseous body to allow the attacks to pass through him. Though in doing so Nanashi is able to catch sight of what Kurogiri was trying to protect, a metal collar that probably marked where the man's actual body was.
Before Nanashi can act on the new information, Kurogiri's mist explodes outwards, and Nanashi can feel his classmate's presences disappearing, before he too gets warped away. When the mist clears, he finds himself falling into a dark urban area sieged by what appears to be an artificial typhoon. Around him, as he lands in a roll before coming to his feet, he sees multiple Villains ready to attack.
As the first wave comes at him and the wind picks up, Nanashi can't help it. That fierce smirk breaks out over his face.
A/N: Okay y'all, I'm back with the milk. In all seriousness, I finally found some motivation again! It's been a bit of a struggle with work kicking my ass, but I finally managed to get back into my writing. Don't know if I'll be able to get another one out soon tho, since I have to start preparing for… everything. Seriously, it feels like my schedule is more packed than it's been in years! Anyway, see y'all around sometime.
