Angel: Someone asked if I was okay, and I'm fine, it's just that I work almost all day and I'm in school. So I'm not always updating every single day like I did with Dr. Stone, and I can be very busy at times. If it seems like I'm not active, it's just because I'm busy elsewhere lol Same thing with trying to get a hold of me, I don't get home from work until 6 at the latest and I'm at work by 8 in the morning.
In science class at Kadic, the Chief Engineer from the local nuclear power plant is giving a lecture for Ms. Hertz. "Our heating plant uses energies supplied by nuclear reactor. Thanks to which we produce thousands of megawatts of electrical power," He points to something from the diagram of the plant. "Here we have the cooling tower, this is the turbine, the alternator, and finally, the reactor."
Someone yawns while Sissi looks at a magazine near Herb. "This plant is one of the most powerful in the world." Ulrich looks out the window, a hand underneath his cheek. "As Chief Engineer, I'm particularly concerned with safety," He watches the birds fly by. "And to guarantee this, safety security measures have been applied at every level of production."
Amy is mindlessly taking notes while also doodling with Odd, using her left hand to write and her right hand to draw. "The plant's design, its functioning, and problem phases. We call this combination of safety measures in-depth defense. I'll be glad to answer any questions."
Jeremy raises a finger. "Uhh, sir?"
Sissi looks up from her magazine upon hearing his voice. "Yes, go on, Jeremy," Ms. Hertz states as she fully turns to the front.
"I'd like to know if an atomic process exists for fusing virtual particles and materializing them in the real world," Jeremy stands up, referring to his continuing attempts to materializing Aelita. Odd raises a brow in interest while Amy and Ulrich look at their friend.
"Mm-hm..." The Chief Engineer stares for a few seconds, adjusting his glasses as he takes in the question. He then places his hands behind his back, stepping to the side. "Son, that is in the realm of science fiction. Sorry."
Jeremy says nothing as the man stares at him again. Ms. Hertz walks up to him. "Jeremy is an excellent student, but he's a bit of a dreamer."
He sits down, placing his hands on his cheeks as the class laughs at him. Odd and Amy turn to stare at Herb, who was snickering, both of them annoyed. Herb and Sissi look defensive as the two turn back to the front.
"Don't pay them any mind, Jeremy. They're just being arrogant," Amy glances back at the duo, who glare at her. Sissi grumbles as she looks back at her magazine. Suddenly the power goes out on the projector, Odd, Amy, and Jeremy turning to it in confusion.
"Well, now," Ms. Hertz is also confused. "What's happened here?" She tries to make it work, doing all she can and she turns to the Chief Engineer. "Oh, certainly nothing serious, just a blown fuse, that's all." Jeremy looks to his friends, Odd and Amy just shrugging. The bell rings and everyone leaves class.
Yumi stands outside the science building, hugging her books as she waits for her friends. Herb, Sissi, and Nicolas leave first, Sissi sneering at Yumi. Mainly because she knows that Yumi's waiting for Ulrich...Yumi just narrows her eyes and Sissi giggles a bit, leaving her be. She turns to the doors as her friends are the last to leave.
"And I'm saying that maybe XANA is behind this," Jeremy insists to the three, referring to the 'blown fuse' incident.
"Come on, Einstein, you're gonna blame every power problem on XANA?" Amy rolls her eyes to the back of her head. "Next you'll be saying that he's behind an eclipse."
"Don't get so excited, Jeremy, it was just a short circuit," Odd adds in as they meet up with Yumi. She raises a brow, wondering what happened. But she doesn't get to ask as someone approaches the group.
"Odd?" They turn around to Principal Delmas walking up to them. "I've thought it over. You can form your group, the, um...Foxtrot Fanatics?"
"YES!" Odd cheers happily.
"Thank you, Principal Delmas!" Amy smiles at him.
"It's the Pop Rock Progressives, sir," Yumi corrects the principal.
"But it must be open to anyone who wishes to play, is that clear?"
They all nod at him. "No problemo, sir!" Odd answers for them. The principal nods and then leaves. "YEAH!" Odd slides to the ground. "Let's hear it for the god of rock and roll!"
"Woo-hoo!" Amy slides as well, doing a little bit of air guitar.
"...Odd, you're putting way too much influence on her," Ulrich comments after a few seconds.
"That's a bad thing?" The brunette grins as she stands up. Odd takes a look at his watch, glancing back at them.
"Hey, come on, if we step on it, we can photocopy Amy's leaflets before lunch, Jeremy," He gets onto his feet, looking to his genius friend.
"Well, you know what, I'm not into rock," Jeremy denies while shaking his head. "Besides, I wanna check out on that outage," He then leaves them behind.
"Okay, see you later, Jeremy," Yumi calls out as they watch him.
"Wait, you draw?" Ulrich turns to Amy in surprise, and the girl rubs her neck.
"Well, a little..." She confesses to them. "Odd looked at my sketchbook one day and then he practically begged me to make the flyers...but it's just a hobby."
"Just a hobby? She's really good!" Odd smiles, hands on his hips. "You could even say that she got influence from me."
"Oh sure, that's what happened," She remarks sarcastically in a playful manner. "If anything, I'll help you copy the flyers since you wanna highlight your so-called teaching."
"Thanks!" He smiles at her and the three just laugh. "What?" He asks cluelessly at them.
Jeremy is in his room, typing away. While he's at work, Aelita speaks up to him. "Hi. Is something wrong, Jeremy?" Instead of answering, he's at thought, pressing on his keyboard rapidly. It's like he can't hear her at all. He looks at a map to pinpoint where he sees a red spot. "You know, if you ever have a problem, you can always talk to me about it."
"Weird..." He murmurs to himself as he zooms in on the location. "Why can't I hear anything? Let's check this out." He taps enter on his keyboard to re-try and make contact. "Aelita?" She's in the forest sector, sitting in a way tower. "Aelita, do you read me?"
"Loud and clear, Jeremy," She responds cheerfully, sitting down on the platform with her hands on her knees. She's looking at a screen in front of her. "Is everything okay?"
"We had a power failure in class this morning, and the school electricity system seems to be having problems," He reports to her and she makes her screen disappearing. She then reappears in front of Jeremy.
"And? Do you think XANA's behind it, Jeremy?"
"You never know!" He remarks while scratching his cheek and she slightly shakes her head. "Have you noticed anything in Lyoko?"
"No," She answers him. "Everything's quiet here."
"Okay, I'll do a scan," He taps a key. "If XANA's activated a tower, we'll find out soon." He then gets onto his feet.
"Where are you going?" Aelita asks the boy curiously.
"To the cafeteria," He smiles at her. "They've got brussels sprouts today. You know what they are?"
"Yes, but I don't know what they taste like. Are they good?"
Ulrich pushes away his lunch tray in disgust. "Ah, ugh! They're gross, ugh."
"Odd? What are you up to now?" Hearing Jim's voice, Jeremy, Ulrich, and Yumi turn to Odd. He's holding one of Amy's flyers, which is blue paper and has a drawing of a guitar in the corner, but with drums in the center. She wrote in white for the flyer 'Got a need for beats? Looking for drummers for the Pop Rock Progressives!'
"We're holding auditions for our group," He answers as Amy walks with her lunch tray, glancing at the duo. Jim snatches the paper and reads it. Odd walks away with a smile. "Hey, if anyone is interested, we need a drummer!" He plants flyers at tables. "Here. Here you go." He then freezes as he sees Nicolas waiting patiently for his. He holds out a hand and Odd just holds them away, walking from the table. He goes back to his friends.
"Odd," Amy warns in disbelief as she arrives, having seen the whole thing.
"What?" He replies innocently to her.
"That's not fair what you just did, don't you remember what the principal told us after class?" She points out, crossing her arms.
"We don't need someone like him auditioning!" Odd holds his head up high and she takes a flyer, standing up. "Wait, what are you doing?" Her friends watch as she walks right up to Nicolas. "Amy, stop!"
"Here you go, ignore him," She hands Nicolas and he looks surprised. She then walks off without saying anything else.
"Why'd you do that?!" Odd protests once she gets back to their table.
"All I did was give out a flyer. Which I made, by the way. So you can't just pick and choose who gets one," She scolds while taking a sip of her drink casually. "Whether you like it or not, it's called being fair," She points at him.
Odd crosses his arms, glaring at her. She returns the glare right back, still sticking with her argument.
"Should we stop this?" Jeremy asks the others, a little uncomfortable at the tense silence between the two.
"I'm sure it'll blow over," Yumi waves a hand.
"Yeah, it's not like they can keep this up forever," Ulrich adds in.
However, he was definitely wrong on that as Odd's at the drink machine, and the two haven't talked ever since Amy's 'betrayal.' Amy leans against the wall, her arms crossed and her eyes closed. "Not like they can keep this up forever, huh?" Jeremy raises a brow, Ulrich just shrugging cluelessly. Odd is trying to decide what to drink.
"Let's see now, hot chocolate? No, soup. No, the soup tastes like dish water..." Ulrich then decides for him. "Hey, you pressed soup!" Odd protests at this.
"Aw, come on, it's not that awful," Ulrich dismisses it.
"It's really not, but Odd's too picky to realize that," Amy remarks while glancing up at him with an angry stare. Odd turns to glare at her.
"And you're too stubborn for me to have what I prefer," He grunts at her.
"Guys, come on," Ulrich groans a bit at them, placing a hand on their shoulders. "Stop fighting, you're friends, remember? You didn't like what she did, but she was just only trying to help."
Odd ignores him as he watches the machine give out only a few drops of soup. "Oh, this miserable machine's on the blink again," He takes the cup, groaning as he turns it upside down.
"Maybe it's another power failure," Jeremy suggests to the group.
"Are you worried?" Yumi wonders to the blond.
"Yeah, I am. I'll keep checking things out," He explains to them.
"I have a bad feeling about all this. First the projector in class and now the vending machine. Seems too much to be a coincidence..." Amy replies from her spot.
"Maybe it's because you gave Nicholas a flyer," Odd mutters to her bitterly.
"Or MAYBE because you can't grasp the fact that I had my reasons. But just like in class, you don't pay attention," She glares, placing her hands on her hips.
"If you need us, we'll be in the gym," Yumi steps between the two. "We're gonna hold auditions."
Jeremy leans in towards her and Ulrich. "See if you can get them to stop fighting, we have priorities," He whispers to her and they nod at him.
"We'll do our best, but no promises," Ulrich sighs a bit.
Someone in the gym is playing a heavy metal beat with the drum set they have. Amy's sitting several feet away from Odd as Yumi and Ulrich had them sit next to each other. She's got her legs crossed on the chair while sitting sideways. The music kind of hurt their ears, and Amy tries not to cover her ears. Mike, the auditioner, then finishes it off with a cymbal.
"Yeah!"
"...Well, yeah, you've got a lot of style," Odd admits to the boy. "It's heavy metal, right?"
"Oh yeah, sure, I love it," Mike taps a cymbal and Amy raises a brow at him. She couldn't help but get the impression that he doesn't know what that is, and just likes making noise.
"Really sorry Mike, but, um, we're looking for something more...traditional, you know?" Yumi breaks it to him easily.
He just shrugs with a smile. "Next!" Odd calls out and Mike places the sticks onto one of the drums. He leaves and when the next person walks in, Odd gasps. He watches and smiles as a girl comes up to the equipment, having a flower in her hair.
"Hello, guys," She greets them.
"Hey, how are you, Naomi? I didn't know you played the drums," Odd comments and Amy looks annoyed since this means he'd be biased in the vote about her...but she also has this weird feeling towards both Odd and Naomi, and she didn't know why. Maybe it's because she'd be clouding his judgement.
"Well yeah, a little. Besides, I've always dreamed of being in a band," Naomi confesses and Amy silently rolls her eyes. Thankfully no one notices it.
"Okay then, go on," Ulrich encourages to her.
As they hear her play, Amy couldn't believe what she's hearing, and not in a good way. Naomi doesn't seem to know how to play well because her playing is kind of slow and she doesn't seem to have one set tone to play. Maybe I should've added in the flyer that experience in drums is required The brunette thinks to herself while rubbing a temple. Naomi bows after finishing, Odd standing up and clapping.
"Great, Naomi, that was fantastic!" He turns to Ulrich and Yumi. "Well, I mean, come on, we're not gonna find anyone better, right?" The duo just stare at him in disbelief.
"Yeah, right. We're not putting anyone in just because you like them," Amy mutters loud enough only for them to hear. Odd narrows his eyes, placing his hands on his hips as Yumi and Ulrich snort in laughter.
Jeremy looks over Lyoko in his room and he sees something from his screen. "400,000 bolts at a high-tension pylon?" He rubs his chin in thought, leaning back in his chair. "That's not right," He leans forward and presses a few keys from his keyboard. "Aelita?" He looks up and she reappears.
"Anything new?" She wonders and he scratches the back of his head.
"Well, not really," The power then goes off in his room, cutting him off from Aelita. He gasps and stands up. "Aelita!" He rushes over to his lamp, trying to turn it on and failing to do so. He then rushes out of his room and goes down the stairs. He heads for the park, running down the pathway. Then he notices the pylon outside of the school, which is surging with electricity. "Huh?" He gasps at it.
Odd taps the drumsticks against his knees, Yumi letting out a small yawn. "While we're waiting, might be a good time to patch things up between you two?" Ulrich suggests to Amy and Odd. They take one look at each other and huff, turning away in unison. "Guess not..."
The door opens to reveal a panting Jeremy. He wipes off his forehead and rushes over to them. "This is XANA's doing! I'm almost sure of it," He insists to them.
"Here, take a seat," Amy grabs the chair next to her and pulls it to him. He nods gratefully and sits down in front of the three.
"Yeah, go on," Yumi urges him as he takes off his glasses, wiping off his forehead.
"The current's cutting out all around the school and the pylon outside is way over the voltage limit, it could explode!"
Amy gasps at hearing that. "But why would XANA do that?" Ulrich couldn't help but wonder.
"Your guess is as good as mine, Ulrich," Jeremy shakes his head as he doesn't have the answer yet.
"Well, one thing is for sure, whatever he's doing with that pylon, it's bad. Big time," Amy points out as the doors open again.
"Surprise!" They all turn around to see Sissi, Herb, and Nicolas entering the gym.
"Speaking of bad things that a traitor did," Odd remarks to Amy, who growls and says nothing.
"It's obvious that my friends and I aren't very welcome to some of you," Sissi takes out a chair, turning it around and sitting. Nicolas gives Amy a small grateful smile. "But my father did say that the band was open to everybody, right?" None of them say anything, just staring. "Oh, but don't worry. I don't wanna be in a group of deadbeat weirdoes."
"Get to the point, Sissi," Amy sighs wearily at her. Just because she gave Nicholas a flyer didn't mean that she was gonna be entirely nice. After all, Sissi has gotten underneath their skin beforehand.
"But Nicholas just loves the drums," Sissi finishes, turning around and touching his arm a bit.
"A drummer, huh?" Odd asks in amusement. "What does he play, his mom's pots and pans?"
Nicholas closes his eyes, looking towards the ground. Amy glares at Odd for doing that. "Would you cut it out, Odd?" He blows a raspberry at her, causing her to kick his leg.
"Ow!"
Jeremy stands up, the others looking at him. "Okay guys, I'm off to the factory. Keep you posted," He leaves the gym and Nicolas takes the sticks. He holds them up to his face and then taps them. He reveals that he's a natural, and has a good beat going. Odd looks on with a dumbfounded look, Yumi and Ulrich's eyes widening. Amy snaps her fingers a little to the beat. As Nicolas continues playing, Sissi notices their reactions, smiling smugly.
"Yeah!" Nicolas finishes and his friends clap for him. Yumi, Amy, and Ulrich end up joining in as the boy gets off the stage. He joins his friends as Sissi chuckles, glancing at Odd, who hasn't reacted at all.
"Looks like you found yourself a drummer," She laughs and then the three leave.
"Nicolas?! The drummer in our band?" Odd questions in disbelief. "I don't care how good he is, the answer is no. Besides, Sissi set this up just to give us a hard time."
"Maybe for once, she was trying to help," Yumi suggests to him. "And you gotta admit that Nicolas can really play the drums."
"Better than Naomi, that's for sure," Ulrich smirks, placing his hands behind his back.
"She's only a beginner, she needs a little more time," Odd argues in defense for the girl.
"Uh huh, a couple of more years should do it," Ulrich quips back.
"Or a century," Amy mutters under her breath.
"Well, if that's how you feel," Odd stands up. "Then listen up. If you want Nicolas to be your drummer...you better find yourself another guitarist!"
"And I say if you don't take him, you better find yourself a new singer!" Yumi adds in.
"And a new bassist," The brunette closes her eyes and crosses her arms.
"Of course you'd take HIS side," Odd murmurs loud enough for her to hear.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" She glances up at him angrily.
"You're changing friends now? First you give them a flyer and now you're encouraging Nicolas to be in our band! What's next, you're gonna join 'em?" Amy just glares and doesn't say a thing. "Oh, I see. You've got a crush on him? Is that it?" Odd remarks, hands on his hips as he looks furious. "Are you just making sure we choose him because you like him?"
That seems to have set her off because she suddenly gets up and pushes him to the ground, clenching her fists. Odd, Yumi, and Ulrich stare at her in shock. "All I did was give out a piece of paper, a paper that I drew and designed at your insistence! Why is that such a bad thing? But what you're doing is being just as bad as them. Maybe YOU should join them, you seem to fit the bill. As for me, I'm taking a walk," She storms off past him and they all stare as she goes to the doors. She places a hand on the door, glancing back at Odd. "I didn't betray you like Sissi did, Odd. Think about that," She simply says before opening the door and slamming it. Odd stares at her with an open mouth.
"...If Sissi's idea was to cause trouble, she's done a great job," Ulrich sighs and Yumi whips to Odd, glaring as he sits down.
"Odd, that wasn't cool what you said. Amy's not like Sissi, she was only doing what we were asked in order to have the band. If she didn't, Sissi might've told her father and then we wouldn't even be doing auditions right now."
"And it wasn't a good thing to ask if she's got a crush on Nicolas either," Ulrich slowly shakes his head. Odd raises his brows at them before thinking about it and her reaction sticks in his mind. Guilt is all over his face a minute later and he looks towards the floor.
"You guys are right. I can't believe I said all that to her. She's my best friend..."
Yumi and Ulrich raise a teasing brow since Amy didn't seem to like Naomi. And Odd wasn't too happy as he thought that Amy liked Nicolas of all people. "My best female friend," Odd dismisses their looks. "After all, I was the first person she met when she came to Kadic. But now...who knows if she'll even come back?" He places a hand on his cheek sadly. "And it's all my fault."
The two stare at him before a sound of a trombone is heard. They all turn around to see that it's Jim playing it. "Uh, would you guys need a slide trombone by any chance?" He smiles widely, all of them utterly confused.
Jeremy runs down the path from the boiling room and emerges into the sewers. He grabs a scooter and rolls down all the way to the ladder. He climbs up to the bridge and once he's inside the factory, he presses the button. He goes down the elevator and steps into the lab. He gets into the chair, which slides around.
Aelita takes a look at the ground in front of her in the forest sector. Red pulsations are given off right underneath her feet. Jeremy glances back at the Lyoko map, beginning to type.
"Aelita? Sorry about the outage. What's new?" He wonders and she appears on screen.
"You were right to be worried. XANA's woken up."
"Huh?" He looks at his scanner. "The scan's picked something up. The tower XANA's activated is in the desert region."
"I'm on my way," She tells him.
"Be careful, Aelita," He responds in worry.
"I will."
He looks at a map as there's a red line heading for something, and he traces it to a factory. He gasps as he realizes what's going on.
Jim plays the trombone, the three students just listening. "Well, what do you say?" He asks after he's finished.
"Uh, Jim, the fact is..." Odd steps up to him. "You see, we're a rock band, not a military brass band."
Yumi's phone rings and she answers it. She listens to Jeremy. "Okay, be right there," She looks up to Jim after hanging up. "We're going to have to audition you another time."
"Oh no, you don't!" He threatens as all three leave. "You're not going anywhere unless you agree to take me as part of your group!" He looks disappointed since there's no signs of them coming back.
All three run into the park, reaching the sewer entrance. Ulrich pulls away the cover while Odd's on the phone with Jeremy. "Jeremy, we're on our way...except for Amy, that is."
"What?!" Jeremy exclaims, Odd cringing and holding the phone away from him. "Why?"
"I, um...made her angry, and we can't reach her," He rubs the back of his neck. "It's my fault. I'm sorry."
"Odd..." He sighs slowly, shaking his head. "We'll have to do without her. But you better make up with her soon!"
"I know," Odd smiles weakly at the reminder. "I will."
He hangs up and they climb down, looking worried. He reaches the others and lands safely. "Don't worry. I'm sure she's safe," Yumi tells him as Ulrich tosses him his skateboard.
"Just don't anger her this time," He says in amusement, Odd groaning at that. He runs down the sewer and then throws his skateboard. They skate down the sewers, a rat running out of the way before they reach the ladder, Odd jumping over the gap. Ulrich opens up the entrance to the bridge, helping up Yumi. They run down the bridge and go down the elevator. The door opens once they're in the lab and they all step in.
"Ah, at last...I couldn't reach Amy, where could she be?"
"I guess she's not coming," Odd says sadly, the others frowning.
"If XANA attacks at the school, she'll come knowing that we need her help," Ulrich tries to assure him.
"Well," Jeremy pushes up his glasses. "I'll try again lat-" The elevator opens up to reveal Amy herself, shocking all of them. Odd runs up to her in relief.
"Amy! I-"
"I didn't come back for you. I'm only here to help Aelita," She informs as she walks past and he sulks at her.
"Here's what XANA's up to. Once he's stored enough voltage in that pylon, he'll unleash it all."
"Unleash it where?" Odd wonders, blinking.
"Guess, on the nuclear plant."
"Creating a short circuit and-"
Odd gasps as he doesn't finish Yumi's sentence.
The pylon's electricity gets bigger, a firefighter talking to someone. "I can't manage to cut the power! I've tried everything. I've never seen such a weird thing."
"The pylon can take one million volts. Once it's all accumulated, XANA can blow everything up."
"Nuclear sabotage. That's a little over our heads, wouldn't you say?" Yumi asks in concern.
"Yeah, what do you mean?" Ulrich turns to her.
"Think about it; if we fail in Lyoko, the whole region will be wiped out! We've got to warn the authorities!"
"Are you crazy? There'll be an inquiry, and we'll be questioned!" Jeremy informs the girl. "We'll have to tell them everything. And if they discover XANA, they'll pull all the plugs out."
Aelita walks around while looking at the pulsations. "And we'll lose Aelita. I know that. But we're talking about a nuclear disaster!" Aelita touches one of the coils, her head falling. Yumi and Jeremy have a stare down as she wasn't backing down on this. Neither was he, but they also didn't have time to argue.
"Okay...let's take a vote. Who's for raising the alarm?"
"For," Yumi raises a hand.
"Against," Jeremy says next.
"Against," Odd tells him and Amy backs away.
"I pick neither. While I'm not saying the authorities shouldn't know, I also know that we can't risk losing Aelita," She says plain and simple. Aelita pops up on screen, watching them.
"Sorry, Aelita...but I also think we can't take that big a risk. I vote for, let's report it," Ulrich raises a hand.
"Well then, two votes for and two votes against and one vote for neither, it's a tie! We don't tell anybody," Jeremy declares as he doesn't want to lose Aelita. The whole reason that they're a team is because they act in secret, and if he hadn't discovered the lab, they wouldn't even be doing all of this today.
"I think it means that we should tell everybody!" Yumi argues back.
"Aren't we all forgetting something?" Amy points out while standing next to the computer.
"Don't I have the right to vote?" Aelita speaks up.
"Why, sure you do. That way there won't be a tie."
"In that case...I vote for," She answers, shocking Jeremy. "I don't want thousands of people to die just to save me."
"Thank you, Aelita," Yumi answers gratefully, Jeremy just frowning.
The elevator doors open to reveal Odd, Amy, and Ulrich to head for Lyoko. She wanted to go with Yumi, but Jeremy stated that not only did they need an extra hand, but that since she voted neither, she did it to herself...
"Amy, talk to me. I said I was sorry," Odd pleads, but she doesn't listen as they head for the scanners. They slowly get in, turning around. Their ID cards pop up for Jeremy as he gets the process ready. He taps enter and they're all transferred one by one. Then all three are scanned before they're virtualized into the desert sector. They all land safely on the ground. "We're gonna make it, huh, guys?" Odd wonders, a hand on Amy's hip as she looks up ahead.
"I sure hope so, Odd," Ulrich comments and Aelita looks up ahead and sees them.
"Okay, I've got it," Jeremy speaks up to his friends. "The scan has located the activated tower." Odd nods to Ulrich, and all of them run towards Aelita. Odd sighs as Amy still ignores him. "It's in the desert region, near an oasis."
"I know where it is," Aelita reveals once they've reached her. "That way, on the other plateau," She points across to the other side.
"Let's go," Amy flaps her wings to fly, taking off without getting their input.
"Sorry about that, Aelita. She and Odd aren't getting along right now," Ulrich shakes his head. Odd himself gives a frown towards her.
Yumi gets out using the secret entrance, and as soon as she's out, she notices the pylon. She gasps and runs in the other direction.
"I don't get it," The scientist from the plant says to both Principal Delmas and Ms. Hertz. "The plant is functioning perfectly, but the city's in total darkness! No need for alarm, though. We're working on finding the reason."
Someone knocks on the door and they turn to see Yumi walking in. "I'm sorry to disturb you, sir, but it's really important. You've gotta trust me. I know it's gonna sound crazy, sir, but please hear me out," She pleads with all of them. "The nuclear plant is in danger of blowing up!"
Ms. Hertz gasps sharply.
The others on Lyoko reach the oasis, but no tower can be seen. "I don't believe this, what's going on?" Odd wonders as they look around. "Where is this tower?"
"We can't see it now, but it's here all right," Aelita explains as Ulrich steps forward. "Look at XANA's pulsations, they all converge here."
"A tower can't just disappear, though," Amy glances at her.
"Come on, you could do it! You can't be too far away. You've gotta find it fast, the pylon is gonna be overloaded soon!" Jeremy urges them as the pylon is over 70 percent charged. And it doesn't look great outside as it affects the telephone lines right outside the school. Yumi runs off while on the phone.
"Jeremy? The principal and Dr. Delaker didn't believe me."
"We're going crazy here too, Yumi," Jeremy tells her. "The pylon is 85 percent charged and we can't find the tower!"
Ulrich stabs the ground with his sword. Odd stares at the water before looking up at Amy. She's circling around the oasis across from him, her arms crossed. Aelita scopes out the area as well. He sighs at her slowly, a hand on his cheek. He had no idea how he was going to get her to listen so that he could apologize...he tosses a rock in his hand several times and then throws it into the pool. It shines instead of rippling and he looks up in confusion. "Huh?" He dives his hand into it before pulling it out. "I found it."
"Hm?"
"Huh?"
"What?"
"We've been tricked," He informs as they join his side. "There's no water down there, just a surface layer. I'll go and have a better look." He dives into the water, cannonballing as he falls through surrounded by the sector. Ulrich, Aelita, and Amy follow, landing safely down below. Up ahead is the activated tower. They run forward, going through a pathway surrounded by rocks. They soon reach the tower and Odd points up ahead. "There."
Some Krabs show up, however. "Careful!" Odd warns as one of them fires and then hits him in the leg.
"Odd!" Jeremy shouts in concern.
"I hate those horrible Krabs," Odd grumbles while Jeremy looks at his health and sees the damage. As the Krabs get closer, Ulrich pulls out his sword. Amy then pulls out her spear, the Krabs closing in on them again.
"Aelita, it's you they're after. Go on, run!" Ulrich advises her and she takes off.
"Aelita!" Odd looks back as one of the Krabs starts to chase the girl. It then fires after her and Amy lands in front of her. She tosses her spear like a boomerang, but the Krab fires at it, and it falls out of Amy's range, to her shock. It starts firing lasers at her and one of them hits her wings, causing her to fall and take some damage.
"Amy," Jeremy says in worry and she gets up, running off. The Krab continues firing at her until Odd jumps behind the girl and takes some shots for her, getting devirtualized. Amy slides to a stop, looking back at him as he disappears.
"Odd..." She then narrows her eyes, looking at the Krab in front of her. She holds up her hand as sand gathers around it and forms into a circle. "Sand Sphere!" She fires it at the first Krab, only damaging it. Ulrich prepares himself while Odd gets out of the scanner, panting. The first Krab fires, Ulrich deflecting them with his sword. Amy looks towards her spear and runs towards it, sliding as a Krab fires at her. She manages to grab it and gets back up while two copies of Ulrich appear, which is his triplicate ability. However, the clones only have one life point each. Ulrich jumps up and lands on the first Krab, stabbing it with his sword and destroying it. He lands safely just as Amy front flips and throws her spear at the second Krab.
Odd joins Jeremy in the lab. "Thank you for saving Aelita and I'm sure Amy will forgive you for what you did, but things look bad here," He glances to Odd. "Up to 95, soon XANA will be able to attack the nuclear plant!"
The pylon looks even worse as bolts fly from it. "Can you repeat that?" A police officer asks Yumi, who's attempting to warn them.
"The voltage that built up in this pylon is going to be used to blow up the nuclear power plant, sir!" She insists to them desperately. "How can you just stand there, do something! Before it's too late, huh?!"
The two glance at each other, but how she knows this in their eyes is a mystery in of itself. "How do you know all that?" One of them wonders and she narrows her eyes, clenching a fist. This was it, she was about to tell them everything...she just hopes it's worth it.
Aelita looks up ahead from her hiding spot, watching Ulrich and Amy. Ulrich looks to his clones as Amy stands to the left, staring down the last Krab. "Go on...go on," Ulrich directs his clones. Both of them jump up, but one gets devirtualized. The other manages to land on top of the Krab and defeat it. "Fusion." He looks to Amy as another Krab appears. "What, you're gonna let me do all the work?"
She just chuckles and runs forward, spear on her back. "Amy, are you crazy? What are you doing?" Odd protests as her ID Card and the Krab's appear on the computer screen. She says nothing and the Krab fires, hitting her in the arm.
"No!" Ulrich and Aelita call out in worry, but she continues on.
"Come on, hurry!" Jeremy urges her. "The pylon is over 98 percent!"
"Here goes nothing!" Amy tosses her spear like a javelin and it flies over the Krab's head, landing on the eye. Amy then flips and grabs it while still spinning, landing just as the Krab explodes. She stands up and smiles, sliding her thumb against her nose as she turns around to the others. The two smile back at her.
"Okay, it's up to you, Aelita," Ulrich turns to her. She runs past them both to the tower.
"A supercomputer in a factory?" A police officer asks in disbelief to Yumi once she's explained. "A virtual world?"
"I swear, you have to believe me!" She insists, but by the looks on their faces, it doesn't seem like they do.
Aelita slowly enters the tower, stepping onto the middle of the platform. She starts floating towards the top.
"It's gonna work," Odd says in both trying to assure Jeremy and having faith in Aelita, who continues towards the top.
"Ah..." Jeremy looks at the percentage as it's now gotten to 100! The pylon starts to charge up as Aelita lands on the top platform.
"Oh no!" Yumi exclaims in horror as they all look at the pylon. Electricity starts charging up.
Aelita walks up to the middle.
The electricity starts going all the way to the plant.
Aelita presses her hand against the screen. Jeremy and Odd all open their mouths in horror.
Aelita
Code
The plant is in sight for the attack.
Lyoko
Then, just before it hits the plant, the electricity stops and the pylon goes back to normal. Jeremy lays back in his seat, letting out a sigh of relief. He then looks to Odd. "Ready for a return trip to the past, Odd?"
The data falls as Aelita watches from the platform. The return trip starts up, white engulfing everything, including the plant. Yumi smiles happily as she's also engulfed in it.
Nicolas holds up the drumsticks, Odd smiling. "Okay, hit it! Three, four, and..." Nicolas starts and Odd joins in. Ulrich is on keyboard while Amy is on the bass. Yumi starts singing a song called Mystery Girl, dedicated to Aelita, but only the group know that. They even let Jim become part of the band.
"Yeah!" Herb claps while Sissi turns to him in annoyance. Jeremy enjoys the song while eating popcorn. Odd glances at Nicolas and gives him a small smile. After some thinking, he decided that treating Nicolas the way he did was wrong, and so allowed him and Jim to join.
"You were right," He admits while leaning in towards Yumi. "He's doing great."
"Are you talking about Jim?" Yumi smiles as they look at him.
"Great, you guys!" Jeremy grins at his friends. "Your energy is super nuclear! You're gonna make this town explode!" He claps for them.
"Jeremy, too soon," Amy slowly shakes her head after the song is done. He rubs his neck sheepishly and Ulrich leans in towards Odd.
"Aren't you gonna apologize for what you said?"
"I got it all figured out," Odd smiles at Amy, who doesn't notice or just ignores him.
Later that night around 9:30, Amy is dressed in a light blue ¾ length pajama shirt under a pink t-shirt. Her pants are dark pink pants with pockets. Her hair is also pulled back into a bun with a blue ribbon. Her room has light pink wallpaper, a bed in the corner, a computer next to her bed, a wardrobe, and a hanging chair across from her bed. Like Jeremy, she doesn't have a roommate. She's looking over school notes from her desk when the door knocks. She looks up and walks over. She opens it, but sees no one around. Usually around this time, Jim and everyone don't leave their rooms, so she had no idea who would've knocked at this hour.
"Hm?" She looks around in confusion before looking at the floor. There's a gift bag and a note with it. She then hears something and looks to her left to see the doors that lead to the stairs closing. Amy looks wary, but takes the gift inside, closing the door behind her. She looks at the note first.
I'm really sorry. I was being an idiot, and assuming you had a crush on Nicolas wasn't cool. I hope that we can still be friends. Take this as a peace offering. If I could, I'd take everything I said back.
"Peace offering?" She opens up the bag and pulls out a big cream colored teddy bear, which holds a heart that says 'I'm beary sorry.'
She gives a knowing smile and hugs it with a hum, looking towards her door. "Thank you, Odd," She murmurs to herself. Odd smiles as he peeks in through the hall and then leaves to go to his room.
