Epilogue
Atlanna jumped out the water and landed on top of the dock that led to Thomas Curry's lighthouse. The sun was just starting to peak beyond the horizon. She looked at the familiar sight in front of her. So little had changed. The building still had its white walls and green shutters. The light on top of the tower was still slowly spinning around.
A few weeks had passed since Arthur had been crowned king. The entire time she had spent at her son's side, guiding him and teaching Atlantean court customs and etiquette. He was trying his best to be the king Atlantis needed, and she couldn't be prouder. Now, after Arthur seemed to have gotten a basic grip on ruling, Atlanna was finally free to visit her husband again. Well, her son had not so subtly been pushing her for the past couple of days, but she had felt hesitant. Would Thomas still love her and take her back?
Atlanna was roused from her thoughts by the door of the lighthouse opening. She watched Tom leave the house and start walking down towards the docks. He hadn't noticed her yet, it seemed . He had aged a bit and the brown mop of hair had disappeared from his head, but he was still as beautiful to her as the day she had been forced to leave him.
When Tom finally did noticed her, he stopped in his tracks and stood in shock for a couple of seconds. Then he started sprinted down the stairs towards her. Atlanna ran forwards as well. The two met in the middle of the dock and embraced. She felt Tom's tears chain her white Atlantean suit. "You came back, you came back," he kept murmuring into her hair. She held him closer. "I'm back."
When she finally pulled back to look into her husband's warm teary eyes, she finally felt completely happy. Her sons were well and alive, she was in her husband's loving arms, and the land and the sea could finally be one.
David Kane woke up with an enormous headache. His face hurt and one of his eyes was covered by a bandage that was wrapped around his head. He looked around the messy room he was in. The walls were covered with maps and articles about Aquaman and Atlanteans. At a table against the opposite wall sat a small man tinkering with his Atlantean suit. David heard the familiar sound of the energized plasma beams warming up. "Yeah I wouldn't do that if I were you," he warned before the beam shot out and made a hole in the roof.
The man turned around, surprised. He looked like that doctor David had once seen on tv. The one with all the Atlantean theories. Shin or something was his name? "This is Atlantean technology, isn't it?" he asked. "Can you tell me how you got this?"
"Sure," David nodded. "But first, you're going to tell me how to find him." He flung his grandfather's knife into the wall which held a newspaper clipping of Aquaman.
No matter how long it would take, Arthur Curry would pay.
And hereby book I of Arthur and Orm's adventure is finished. Proud of myself I've finally finished a story and didn't quit halfway through.
I know there hasn't been much romance yet, but this is meant to be a slow-burn (and I mean SLOW-burn) and most of the romance will pop up in the sequels.
I've also a book II and book III planned (and finished rough outlines for both), but it might take some time before those will appear. There's a lot of university stuff I have to deal with and I'm also having an eye surgery, so my eye sight is going to be less than stellar for at least a month. On top of that I also have a summer school and vacation, so I probably won't start writing until August…
Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed it! And I'll probably see you for the sequel: BOOK II Harbor of Hearts.
